These days, the film industry is filled with the news of newlyweds. From Samantha to Shriya, Anushka to Deepika, we have witnessed and we’re witnessing many. But there are few celebrities in Tollywood, who has chosen to remain fabulously single and happy. Recently, a senior actress from TFI openly confessed that she doesn’t want to get married.

She is none other than, actress turned producer Charmme Kaur. Long ago, she quit searching for roles as lead actress and currently working for Puri Jagannadh’s Puri Connects company. In a recent interview, Charmme said that she doesn’t like if someone inquires about her whereabouts and judges her. Charmme also revealed that she was in a relationship with a guy from the industry for a couple of years, but it didn’t work for her. If she got married to that guy, then instead of having a cool life, she would have taken a divorce, which will create more mess in her life.

The Anukokunda Oka Roju actress also clarified that, if she can’t be in a relationship, how can she lead a happy life after marriage. She commented that she won’t believe in marriage and in reality check, she is not a marriage material and decided to live with her parents. “My dad says, you’re not marriage material. That’s true about me. I will get to the spa to get pampered by a guy, but won’t marry one” she confirmed.

Well, there are only such few actresses in the industry, who give some bold statements about the wedding.

Some heroes and fans may sound high about records of their films, but many records created by legendary Akkineni Nageswara Rao’s “Premaabhishekam” directed by Dasari, are still unbroken. And a tale related to that film will surely give you goosebumps.

That was 1981. At the then newly constructed Sri Kalpana theatre in Eluru, West Godavari District, has screened the film “Premabhishekam” which got a terrific talk from Day One itself. The film ran for 253 days with 3 shows daily (back then there is no morning show). And then a fan, who happens to be a Banana vendor running a roadside shop, watched the film every day, Second Show. That was the love for cinema then, of course, as there are no other means of entertainment.

Theatre owners finally identified this guy who is watching the film for nearly 9 months and honoured him with a huge garland, a Saluva and Rs 1116/- (Veyyi Noota Padaharlu) as a gift. At that time, Bench ticket is around 1 rupee 50 paise. (Nela, Bench, Chair and Balcony are the four categories) and he used to watch daily on that ticket.

Kalpana Theatre is non-existing today as the theatre ran into losses, the owners sold the place to a real estate developer couple of years ago. Cut to the fan, there are no such fans these days who could take out time every day to watch the same movie in a theatre for 250+ days. And even if fans are willing to watch, films are not running for much longer time. That’s the irony!!

Also, we have to say, some audiences are finding tough to watch films repeatedly due to increased ticket rates and some are not watching films more than once as present-day movies are not having such repeat value.

Gone were the days when producer was treated like a family head. Even legendary stars like NTR and ANR used to stand up when producers visit movie sets.Well, meaning of producer has been changed of late. Producer has no powers nowadays and his work is restricted to sign cheques, getting location permissions etc.

DVV Danayya might have felt excited when SS Rajamouli accepted to do a film under his production banner of DVV Entertainments, but signing Jr NTR and Ram Charan for the film was the icing on the cake.

Nonetheless, Danayya received shock treatment from his director. While the producer was waiting for Rajamouli’s permission to make an official statement about the project, a small video to announce the movie was released recently.

It is heard that, producer and PRO of the movie were informed just one hour before they released the video. They weren’t given any prior information. Danayya who’ll be spending around Rs 200 cr had no other option other than passing Rajamouli’s orders!

Needi Naadi Oke Katha is winning hearts all over. Director Venu Udugula is being appreciated for his honesty at story telling without any pomp. Sri Vishnu wowed critics and audience as an under-performing student. NNOK is going good at ticket counters too.

Nara Rohith is overwhelmed with the film’s success. In fact it’s his first successful production venture. Made on shoestring budget, NNOK has already recovered it in its first weekend. The film reportedly earned 2.30 cr while the producers spent 2.25 cr on the project including promotion.

The film collected a share of Rs 1.90 cr with Rs 1.60 cr in Telugu states and Rs 30 lakhs from overseas.

Monday being holiday on the occasion of Sri Rama Navami is additional advantage to the film to make it big at box office. Hindi dubbing rights fetched another Rs 40 lakhs. Makers are being offered fancy price for film’s satellite rights.

In the wake of back to back disasters at the box office, actor Sunil is back to appear on screen as a comedian. He has already signed few projects, in which the actor will be seen as a comedian like in Nuvvu Naku Nachav, Manasantha Nuvve, and Nuvve Nuvve.

Now, as per the latest reports, he missed one routine commercial film, which was bagged by Nandamuri hero and going 50-50 at the box office. We hear that Sunil was the first preference for MLA, which is directed by Upendra Madhav. This writer-director approached Sunil with this script, but the actor reportedly rejected it, due to some reasons. Then the director narrated the script to Kalyanram and that’s how the film happened.

Recently, MLA hit the screens and doing well at the box office due to lack of any other competitor out there. Film critics, however, opined that if Sunil had done this movie, then it would have definitely turned out to be a dud. As Nandamuri Kalyanram has a close association with politics in real life, this film worked for him during promotions and people got connected to it.

On the flip side, MLA collected 7+ crores share already from the box office and it has to collect another 7 crores to become a safe project. Let’s see what happens.
