Sources say he has dropped the much-hyped “Lakshmi’s NTR” project. The YSRC Leader who came forward to produce this movie has now backed off. Hence the movie has been scrapped.He is now said to be asking Vijay Devarakonda to allot dates.

RGV is promising him that he would take him to Bollywood but the young star politely declined his offer saying that he has already signed three movies. He has no dates available this year, Vijay Devarakonda told RGV.Ram Gopal Varma has praised Vijay Devarakonda when “Arjun Reddy” got released. He said the actor will be next superstar.

Vijay Devarakonda met RGV at his Mumbai office several times but he doesn’t want to act in his direction at this moment.He will be giving dates to RGV when he delivers another one or two hits. He first needs to be strengthening his market.

It remains to be seen who will pen and direct this biopic and one is for sure: like how Sunny emerged as most search celebrity in India, her web series may also become the most-watched series in India.

Recently, Sunny signed a periodical Tamil film in the direction of Vadivudaiyan which is tilted as Veeramadevi. The film will get released in five South Indian languages.

After four successive debacles, Mega family hero Sai Dharam Tej is looking for an image makeover with his new film. Directed by Karunakaran, it is an out and out love story with insignificant action part.

The latest update on this project is that makers have registered the title – “Devudu Varamandisthe” for this romantic entertainer. For the unknown, “Devudu Varamandisthe…Ne Ninne Korukuntale” is a popular song from the 2001 Telugu film, “6 Teens”. It is quite a clever idea to use this catchy phrase as the title.

Meanwhile, speculations are rife that Karunakaran had lifted the story of his new film from the 2012 Hollywood film, “The Vow”. The English film deals with the story of a young man who goes through innumerable hardships to win his love again after his girlfriend loses her memory in a fatal accident.

The subject looks quite interesting, a potential story line for a director like Karunakaran to develop it to suit the sensibilities of Telugu audiences. Furthermore, “Devudu Varamandisthe” looks an apt title for this story line. Both Karunakaran and Tej desperately needs a hit, and they hope their new film will hit the bull’s eye.

Featuring Malayali beauty Anupama Parameswaran as female lead, the romantic entertainer will be bankrolled by senior producer, KS Rama Rao.

After much discussion and deliberation, it seems makers of “Mahanati”, a biopic on yesteryear actress Savitri have found the solution for their long-persisting ordeal of who will play the roles of NTR and ANR in their ambitious film.

Latest reports suggest that whereas NTR Jr is firm on his stance of not playing his grandfather, Sr NTR, on silver screen, Naga Chaitanya has given his nod to reprise his grandfather, Akkineni Nageswara Rao’s role.

It is heard that Chaitu has allotted two days for shooting his portions in the film. Scenes featuring Savitri-ANR i.e. Keerthy Suresh and Chaitu will be filmed over those two days, later this week. Interestingly, ‘Mahanati’ will become the first film to feature both Chaitu and Samantha after their marriage. They however will not have any combination scenes.

Coming to Sr NTR’s part, as NTR Jr is reluctant, makers will reportedly take the help of CGI (Computer Generated Imagery) to recreate the legendary Nandamuri hero.

The entire shooting will be completed in about two weeks and an extensive post-production work will follow.

Vikram Kumar is probably the director who makes the most intelligent films in Tollywood. Although he has done films in Tamil and Hindi too, he is still recognized as a Telugu director for having made most of his films in the Telugu film industry.

The ideas behind his films are so out of the box that they more often than not don’t work in B,C centres, and results in commercial unviability (ex: 24 and Hello). Had he been working in Bollywood, he would have become a standalone brand by now. In fact, he first came into limelight with the runaway Bollywood hit, his only Hindi film till date, “13B”, a well made horror film.

If things fall in place, this talented director will next make a Bollyood film, that too featuring top Bollywood hero Akshay Kumar. It is heard that Vikram Kumar had narrated a story to Akshay and got his nod. Like all his films, this one also deals with an unorthodox subject. The project is likely to go on floors in the second half of this year.

Akshay is currently busy with other projects, and by the time he wraps up them, Vikram plans to be ready with to take off.

Vikram has also committed a film with Nani, it needs to be seen when this project will materialize.

Among the star heroes we have, Ram Charan enjoyed unique craze a couple of years ago for being a consistent hero. Whether his films are hits or flops, they collected more than 40+ crores share. But things changed rapidly for him as the mass image got dented by some rusty movies.

If we look at the current set of his competitors, we have to say that NTR and Allu Arjun are the main guys in the league, while Mahesh is their senior. Both NTR and Allu Arjun managed to check-in into that 70+ crores ‘share’ club recently. While Mahesh and NTR have two 80+ crore films, Allu Arjun scored two back to back 70+ crores hits. In the meantime, Charan’s Dhruva made only 55+ crores as the film didn’t penetrate into masses well. Though Charan has Magadheera in kitty, that’s a decade old story now.

To merit his figures, Charan got two golden chances at the moment. The first one is Sukumar’s Rangasthalam movie and it has the potential to do exceptionally well with masses if the village based story clicks big time. Easily the film will end up in 70+ crores category if it gets the above-average talk.

The second film is Boyapati Sreenu’s film, provided with Charan allows the director to come up with something like that of a Sarrainodu. If that happens, then surely the film will end up in 70 crore club no matter how the story is, because Charan is a mass star and Boyapati is king of catching mass pulse.

Will Charan merit his chances and join their colleagues? Let’s see.

You can become a star with social media support but real stardom comes only when you prove that at the box office. For example, Sampoornesh Babu enjoyed humongous craze on Twitter and Facebook, but that didn’t turn into box office revenues for his films.

The moot question is, how far this newly found craze around Priya Prakash Varrier really turns into a box office success. With her wink from the movie Oru Adar Love, there has been huge hullabaloo around her every single move. And the makers of her film are releasing the film simultaneously in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi as well along with the Malayalam version. That’s what raises the question now.

On Facebook, a single dialogue, scenes, seconds of particular expression could go viral. But for the film to click at theatres, there should be non-stop engaging and entertaining content for two hours. And going by the teasers of the movie, it looks Priya will be seen only in part of the story as there two more couples carrying other bits of it. Will that be enough to satisfy those folks who went crazy with her wink and gesture-gun acts?

Also one has to see the opening day footfalls for the movie to check the real stamina of Priya Varrier as a box office queen. Let’s look forward to it.

If a movie becomes a hit in one language, then the makers from other languages are dubbing it immediately. Usually, we often see the latest Telugu hits getting dubbed into Hindi and other north languages. And sometimes, they also take very old films of a star and dub them.

Surprisingly after the release of Spyder in Tamil, some trade circles of Kollywood felt that Mahesh Babu has tremendous face value. And as they found that all of his latest films are already seen by audiences on TV, they are digging one of his past flop and sugar coating it with new posters.

Takkari Donga was a 2002 released Jayanth C. Paranjee’s directorial starring Mahesh Babu, Bipasha Basu and Lisa Ray. Though the movie failed in terms of collections, fans loved the cow-boy looks of Mahesh. The risky stunts and action sequences also got lauded by the mass audience. Now after nearly 16 years the dubbing version of this movie, titled as Vetri Veeran got released in some theatres in Tamilnadu yesterday (March 10th). But this is not the first release, already the film released with the same title in 2013 and went unnoticed.

It seems like after Baahubali the Tamil movie lovers are also showing interest towards the Telugu films. Mahesh whose direct debut film Spyder in Tamil has turned out to be a disaster and left the superstar in disappointment but it opened a market for him. We have to see what Takkari Donga will do to him for the fourth time, after straight Telugu release, a Hindi dubbed released and now a Tamil re-release. Aleba, Aleba!!
