Sabita Lobbies For Son’s Seat!

Share

Karthik Reddy, son of former Home Minister Sabita Indra Reddy and ex-Home Minister Indra Reddy, is the front-runner for the Rajendra Nagar constituency in Congress. However, the party is yet to confirm the candidature of Karthik Reddy or yet to give assurance to him which is causing worry to him and his followers.

Although Karthik has wide support in the constituency and is known as a social person and his father late Indra Reddy too has good name, he is facing competition from the likes of Gnaneswar, Sama Rajpal Reddy, Sanam Srinivasa Goud.

Rajendra Nagar was delimited from Chevela constituency and formed in 2009. TDP’s Prakash Goud has won twice from the constituency. However, he has later jumped to TRS in 2016. Prakash Goud is facing anti-incumbency as well as he was encountered in a couple of controversies. This is likely to become the advantage for the Congress.

Now, Sabita wants to cash in on this by getting her son the MLA ticket and making him win from the constituency as a true successor of his father Indra Reddy. Sabita said to be lobbying for her son’s candidature from Rajendra Nagar.

Meanwhile, Karthik has also intensified his efforts. He said to be interacting with the locals regularly by participating in events, party activities. Also, for his brother’s wedding, Karthik has personally visited the houses of important people in the constituency and handed over the wedding invitations personally. This has become talking point in the constituency.

Meanwhile, Karthik is said to be trying to lure the other aspirators to turn his side and thus wanting to make it easy for him to get party candidature from Rajendra Nagar. Let’s wait and see, what is in store for Karthik Reddy.

Naidu Favoured Adani In Airport Deal!

Share

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s unusual interest in favouring a private party than a government entity in building the Bhogapuram international airport led to severe criticism.Last year, when the Naidu government floated tenders for the airport project, the Airport Authority of India bagged the bid as it offered 38 per cent return on investment to the government. However, a few months ago, the government suddenly cancelled the contract disqualifying the AAI from the contest showing strange reasons.

A report in an economic daily newspaper indicated the AAI authorities wrote a letter to Naidu asking reasons for its rejection. They even threatened to move the court questioning the arbitrary decision of the Naidu government.Apparently, Naidu wanted to favour big businesh house Adani Group, which has come forward to take up the airport works on built-own-operate and transfer mode. Needless to say, Adani is also closer to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The YSR Congress party alleged that it was Ashok Gajapathi Raju who cancelled the deal with the AAI, when he was the union minister for civil aviation.“Ashok went on record stating that they do not have capacity and resources to build the airport. After cancelling the bids, Chandrababu Naidu and his coterie wanted private builders to take over the airport development as there would be kickbacks,” YSRC leader and former minister Botsa Satyanarayana said.

He said a CBI inquiry only can reveal the real intentions of the TDP government in rejecting the government bid and going for private sector for development of the airport at Bhogapuram.

Naidu’s Secretariat Leaks Again!

Share

Amaravati, the so-called world class capital city of Andhra Pradesh, is back in the news for wrong reasons again. The heavy rains that have been battering the state, particularly Vijayawada and Amaravati areas exposed the chinks in the construction of the Interim Government Complex (IGC) at Velagapudi in Amaravathi on Monday. The offices of Human Resources Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao and Industries minister Amarnath Reddy located in the fourth block of the Secretariat witnessed continuous leakage of water from the roof.

The ceiling in their chambers came off leading to seepage of water. The false ceiling in the entire complex got damaged due to rain water seepage, obstructing the official work in the building. This is not the first time that the top-class construction of Amaravati was exposed. Last year, too, several buildings in the Velagapudi Secretariat complex got damaged due to heavy rains and the officials do take up temporary repair works every time it happens.

In June 2017, rain water seeped into some chambers including that of Leader of the Opposition Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and the corridors on June 7 through a PVC pipe which was carrying AC cables forcing the staff to put plastic buckets at the leakage points. The leakage turned into a political issue with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) alleging foul play by the YSR Congress leaders. The Opposition hit back attributing it to substandard work. Assembly Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao even ordered a CID enquiry.

The CID, which investigated the incident, suspects that the negligence of workers in not covering the pipeline properly might have resulted in the seepage. What is worse, the much dreaded Kondaveeti Vagu, a rivulet has also reached danger levels posing threat to inundation of Amaravati capital region. Irrigation officials are looking for alternative ways to divert the flood water.

KCR’s Master-Stroke: Revanth or Harish

Share

Who is the biggest critic of KCR in Telangana? Even a small child can answer that question. It’s Revanth Reddy.By joining the Congress, Revanth has infused fresh life into the party in Telangana and Rahul Gandhi’s recent tour has motivated the cadre as well.Nevertheless, KCR is comfortably placed to win the 2019 polls easily although his majority may come down slightly.

There are two problems for KCR now: One is making KTR the CM and the other is removing the threat of Harish Rao to KTR.KCR wants to hand over power to KTR in 2019 and play a role in the NDA but he is worried that KTR might not find it easy in the Assembly taking on Revanth Reddy by himself. Therefore, he has deputed Harish Rao as in-charge of Kodangal, Revanth Reddy’s constituency with the instructions that Revanth should be defeated at any cost.

Harish Rao accompanied by four other Ministers went to Kodangal and laid the foundation stones for government programmes which had already been launched in the past. The TRS then held a huge public meeting which was countered by Revanth Reddy with an even bigger meeting. If Harish Rao succeeds in getting Revanth Reddy defeated, for KCR, there will be no more Revanth Reddy headache in the Assembly. If Revanth Reddy wins, Harish Rao will be held responsible and there will be no more Harish Rao nuisance for KTR.

What a master plan by KCR!
