Amaravati Bonds Sold Like Hot Cakes
In a first of its kind in the country, a state government has floated the bonds in BSE to mobilize funds to construct the capital city. AP created history by floating Amaravati bonds in the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
The APCRDA (Andhra Pradesh Capital Regional Development Authority) released the bonds to the tune of Rs 1300 Crore and the bonds got an overwhelming response in the BSE. In the first phase, only 600 bonds were kept for sale at 11 AM through ELectronic Bidding Platform and taking many by surprise, all the bonds were sold in a short time. And in the similar fashion, the second phase too witnessed a great response.
Overall, through this move, the government raised about Rs 2000 Crore. CRDA Commissioner Sridhar and officials are closely monitoring the sale of bonds through their office. CRDA officials would reveal who are the subscribers of the bonds only in the evening today.
HC’s rude shock to KCR government again!
The expulsion of two Congress MLAs – Komatireddy Venkat Reddy from Nalgonda and S A Sampath Kumar from Alampur into the state legislative assembly for their alleged misbehaviour in the House during the Governor’s speech in March this year, continues to haunt the Telangana Rashtra Samithi government.
While TRS president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is hell bent on preventing the re-entry of the two expelled Congress MLAs, the Hyderabad high court continues to give him rude shocks for not honouring the court direction.
Even as a division bench is yet to hear the TRS government’s appeal against restoration of the assembly membership of Komatireddy and Sampath, the single judge bench on Tuesday served a show-cause notice on Assembly Speaker S Madhusudhanachary for contempt of court in not honouring its judgement given in the past.
It also served notices on law secretary V Niranjan Rao and assembly secretary V Narasimha Charyulu for deliberately delaying the implementation of the earlier order to restore the membership of the two MLAs. They were asked to personally appear before the court on September 17.Besides, the court also sent notices to the superintendents of police of Nalgonda and Gadwal districts for not restoring the gunmen to the two MLAs and posted the case to August 28.
The court action comes within 24 hours of KCR saying that the courts have no jurisdiction to inquire into the decisions of the state legislature to expel the two MLAs. In a way, it is a big shock to the KCR government!
Will Pawan Give 33% Seats To Women?
It is easy to make promises, but is difficult to implement them. Every political party in the country talks about one-third reservations to women in the elected bodies, including the state assembly and Parliament, but no party has the sincerity to get the bill passed. The women’s quota bill has been hanging fire in Lok Sabha for years. Even Congress president Rahul Gandhi showed lip sympathy to women on Tuesday, when a media person asked him about whether his party would be able to bring in the bill at least next year, when it is hoping to come to power.
Now, on Tuesday, Jana Sena Party chief and actor Pawan Kalyan, too, made the same old promise of providing 33 per cent political reservations to women. He released his vision document as a precursor to the final election manifesto, after conducting special prayers to the Goddess Mavullamma. He presented a copy of the vision document to the goddess. He said he would strive to bring 33 per cent reservation for women in all the legislative bodies.
He also promised to ensure supply of cooking gas free of cost to women.
An amount of RS 2,500 to Rs 3,000 in cash would be deposited in the accounts of women instead of supplying them ration, he said. Now, there is nothing new in what Pawan has promised. If he wants to prove himself to be sincere and different from other political leaders who make empty promises, he should first implement this quota in his party. He should give 33 per cent of the party tickets to women in the next assembly elections.
He cannot take the lame excuse shown by all the other parties that he would implement the same if he gets sufficient number of women candidates. Only if he gives one-third of his party tickets to women, people might believe him. What is more, Pawan also said he would increase the reservations for backward classes by five percent if possible. The Kapu community would be provided with reservations by placing them in the 9th schedule. There is nothing new even in this, as it is already under put into action by the Telugu Desam Party government.
Only thing is that the Centre has to take a decision to include the same in the ninth schedule.

Naidu’s Daughter-In-Law Meets Rahul!
Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s daughter-in-law N. Brahmani was among the industrialists who attended a meeting of CEOs addressed by Congress President Rahul Gandhi here on Tuesday. The presence of Brahmani and Andhra Pradesh Cabinet Minister N. Lokesh, T. G. Bharath, son of TDP MP T. G. Venkatesh and some industrialists considered close to the TDP was significant in view of the recent political developments.
Bharath told reporters that Rahul Gandhi promised that if voted to power at the Centre, the Congress would accord special category status to Andhra Pradesh as committed by the Congress-led UPA government in 2014 at the time of the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh to carve out Telangana. In March, the TDP pulled of the BJP-led NDA over its refusal to accord the special status. Subsequently, Naidu had shared the dais with Rahul Gandhi during the swearing-in ceremony of H. D. Kumaraswamy as the Karnataka Chief Minister.
Last month, the Congress party also backed the no-confidence motion moved by the TDP against the Narendra Modi government.During the interaction with the industrialists, Rahul Gandhi shared his vision and what he plans to do for industry, especially the small and medium enterprises. He noted that demonetization and the Goods and Services Tax (GST) had dealt a blow to the industry. Why Prabhas Rejected ‘Padmaavat’?
‘Padmaavat’ is one of the highest grossing films of this year. The film ran into major controversies before it could hit the screens, with Hindu outfits baying for the filmmakers’ blood. But Padmaavat emerged victorious at the box office upon release on January 25 this year.In Padmaavat, Shahid Kapoor played the role of Maharawal Ratan Singh. But director Sanjay Leela Bhansali is said to have first offered the role of Ratan Singh to Baahubali star Prabhas.
A report on a website says that Bhansali was completely bowled over by Prabhas’s intensity and performance in Baahubali in 2015. He then approached Prabhas for the role of Ratan Singh in Padmaavat. The roaring success of the first Baahubali too played a part in Bhansali’s proposal to Prabhas.Prabhas, who was working on Baahubali 2 back then, was reportedly interested in collaborating with Bhansali on a project like Padmaavat.
However, once he heard the story and his role in the film, Prabhas lost interest in the project, say reports. It is a known fact now that Shahid Kapoor’s role in Padmaavat was secondary to both Deepika Padukone’s and Ranveer Singh’s. Kapoor’s performance as Ratan Singh too was slammed by most critics. The actor faded in front of Ranveer Singh, who sank his teeth into Alauddin Khilji and made Padmaavat his own.
Prabhas, meanwhile, will next be seen in upcoming film Saaho where he is paired opposite Shraddha Kapoor.
