PAC Poll: TDP’s First Victory On BJP
In a significant change in the political equations in Delhi, Opposition candidate and TDP’s Rajya Sabha MP CM Ramesh has won as the member of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC). Ramesh has won with the support of opposition parties Congress, CPI, CPM, DMK and others.
Chandrababu’s close aide Ramesh has been elected to the Most Powerful Parliament Committee i.e PAC. Ramesh has got the highest votes followed by BJP’s Bhupender Yadav. JD(U) member Harivansh, who is a close confidant of Nitish Kumar, has been fielded as the NDA candidate but he stood defeated. Ramesh has got the maximum 110 out of 205 votes. With this Ramesh is re-elected to the PAC that has more power to raise his voice against the gross injustice meted out to AP.
This is seen as a big blow to the BJP, NDA and of course to YCP. Despite having two Rajya Sabha MPs Vijay Sai Reddy and Vemi Reddy couldn’t even dare to stand in the polls. TDP has been elected by the Opposition parties unanimously.
Deputy Chairman?
Now, all eyes are on the Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman post. Opposition and ruling parties are expected to have a tug of war for the key post. Since both have neck-and-neck, regional parties – AIADMK, BJD, TRS and Shiv Sena – which haven’t decided whom to support yet would play the key role.
Rajya Sabha Chairman Venkaiah Naidu has announced the August 9 election to the post of Deputy Chairman. The post fell vacant after the retirement of PJ Kurien in June. The nomination papers for the Deputy Chairman post have to be filed by Aug 8 noon.
Upset Jwala Gutta Tweets on KCR and KTR
Ace Shuttler Gutta Jwala took on Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s government for its failure in honouring the promises made to her since four years.She tweeted To Chief Minister Office and IT Minister KT Rama Rao questioning the government for the delay in fulfilling the assurances given to her.
“I have been after the TELANGANA govt too for some support to establish an academy for past 4 years but in vain…was promised I would be given the support but……Also was promised a plot for house but every athlete seems to have got it except me!!
After the government earmarked land to Tennis Sensation Sania Mirza and Saina Nehwal and also Olympic medal winner PV Sindhu, Jwala also put forward the proposal requesting the allotment of land for opening of a Badminton Academy and for individual residence purpose. Government responded positively but has not taken any official decision so far.

There was a time when director Maruthi was severely criticized for his A rated movies loaded with double entendres. At one point, he was even branded as a ‘Boothu director’. To cash in on his craze, Maruthi had even produced several sleazy movies.
But one fine day, Maruthi shed everything and started making widely appreciated class romantic, family entertainers like Bhale Bhale Magadivoi, Babu Bangaram and Mahanubhavudu etc. But occasionally, he pens scripts like the recently released Brand Babu and cashes in on his image.
This made everyone wonder if Maruthi has really changed or not. Finally, Tanish and Babu Gogineni are caught in Kaushal Army’s fury. The Kaushal Army has been literally dictating the elimination process in the house for the past few weeks. The Kaushal Army was instrumental in the elimination of the last three contestants Bhanu Sree, Tejaswi and Nandini Rai.This week, Kaushal’s army of supporters are targeting Kaushal’s main competitors, Tanish and Babu Gogineni. Both Tanish and Babu are nominated to be eliminated this weekend after they failed in yesterday’s physical task.
Babu Gogineni showed no sportsman spirit and withdrew from the task, saying that he can’t push women to win a task. On the other hand, Tanish had once again showed his groupism by protecting Deepthi Sunaina, thereby nominating himself. Along with Babu and Tanish, Geetha Madhuri, Shyamala, Ganesh and Deepthi Nallamothu were also nominated for the elimination.
Since Kaushal is not nominated this week, the Kaushal Army is specially concentrating on this week’s nominations and is determined to get either Tanish or Babu eliminated. In the process, the votes are being shared for the other four nominated housemates.
Meanwhile, Kaushal’s detractors are trying to protect Babu and Tanish. But, since there are two nominations, Kaushal’s antifans can only save one among them. This Sunday will be quite exciting to see whether Tanish and Babu will be saved or if it will be Ganesh who will be shown the exit door. Whenever Kaushal was not nominated, a strong contestant was eliminated from the show. Going by that sentiment, either Tanish or Babu may face the axe this weekend. Even the early voting trends are suggesting this result.
Friends Shock To Pawan Kalyan
A major blow seems to be awaiting to Pawan and his political outfit Janasena. PK, who has been pinning all his hopes on Communist parties CPI, CPM to forge a pre-poll alliance in order to contest jointly in the 2019 general elections, may suffer a setback as Communist parties may ditch him and may join hands with Chandrababu.National leaders of CPI, CPM are indicating that they would sail with Naidu to fight with Modi. The collaboration of CPM, CPI with TDP is expected to continue even in AP.
Adding more fuel to the ongoing speculations, CPM and CPI have voted for TDP’s Rajya Sabha MP CM Ramesh in the PAC member election. Unanimously, all opposition parties including Congress, CPI, CPM, TMC, NCP, DMK have all voted for Ramesh who won as the PAC member with highest majority. This is a clear indication that Opposition parties stand united against Modi and even contest together in 2019 to take on Modi & Co.
Pawan, who is harping on the support from Communist parties, is now forced to rethink his options for coalition politics. Political analysts too opine that Pawan cannot show any impact politically if his party contests alone. This is why he may has to focus on stitching the coalitions. On the other hand, he is yet to appoint the party incharges for the Assembly constituencies.
Breaking: Karunanidhi Is No More
It’s a black day for Tamil Nadu. Muthuvel Karunanidhi, popularly known as Kalaignar, breathed his last at the Kauvery Hospital in Chennai today at 6:10 pm after prolonged battle with old age related ailments. The 94-year-old DMK patriarch’s demise has left millions of his followers in deep sadness.
Karunanidhi holds the record for being an underrated MLA for 60 years. He was elected as an MLA for 13 times. He reigned Tamil Nadu as a Chief Minister 5 times. He made an indelible impact as a poet, screenwriter and political leader.
Why Should You Be Re-Elected?
When is a ruling Party reelected? When it has fulfilled the promises it made to the people or if it ushers in welfare schemes that make lives easier for the poor people.Chandrababu Naidu wants the people of Andhra Pradesh to elect him till 2050. For practical purposes, we shall consider 2019 only. What has he done for the people of the State so far?
Can he name one concrete achievement that has made people happy? Has he genuinely fulfilled even a single promise made in his election manifesto?The loan waiver promise turned out to be a total farce. Kapu reservation Bill was thrown into Parliament cleverly in the awareness that the Bill would not get constituional sanction.The unemployment allowance promised is yet to take shape even four years after coming to power.
On top of that, he has run away from Hyderabad to Amaravati after getting caught red-handed in the Stephenson case, leaving the Andhras in Hyderabad at the mercy of TRS.Leave aside, the promises made in the election manifesto. What about the SCS and the AP Reorganisation Act?
He threatened to put in jail the Andhras who demanded nothing short of SCS. Then after being forced to quit the NDA because of public resentment, he makes a U-Turn and says nothing short of SCS is acceptable.Has he been able to get a single promise made after bifurcation, fulfilled? No! Then why is he asking to be reelected? On what basis?
Even if reelected, if the BJP comes to power at the Centre again, what will he do? Will it not be the same scenario? Why can’t he produce UCs for Polavaram and get funds released immediately? What is there to hide?Chandrababu is a colossal and complete failure and has lost the confidence of the people completely. Persisting with him would be nothing short of suicide for the people of Andhra Pradesh.

TDP Leader Steals Goddess Saree!
The missing of a costly saree gifted by to the presiding deity of Goddess Kanaka Durga temple atop Indrakeeladri hill in Vijayawada has brought to light how political leaders do not spare even the gods from looting.A silk saree worth Rs 18,000 offered to Goddess Kanaka Durga by a devotee on Sunday was found missing.After a lot of hue and cry and an inquiry conducted by the temple authorities revealed that trust board member Kodela Surya Latha, said to be a TDP leader, was behind its disappearance of the saree.
According to reports, a close study of the CCTV footage clearly established that Surya Latha cleverly stole the saree after it was presented to the goddess.The incident brought a lot of embarrassment to TDP president and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu that he had summoned temple trust board chairman Yalamanchili Gauranga Babu and directed him to initiate a detailed inquiry and punish the guilty.
He reportedly expressed his displeasure over the way the Kanaka Durga temple has been made a centre of controversies with illegal activities by the trust members.Surya Latha sought to defend herself saying what she had taken was not the goddess saree, but another saree gifted by some devotees who visited Venugopala Swamy temple as they were impressed by the reception she had extended to them.Executive Officer Padma, who conducted the inquiry issued a show cause notice to Surya Latha and is expected to recommend for her sacking from the trust board, after taking her version.
YSRC To Oppose, TRS To Support NDA!
For quite some time, the YSR Congress party has been facing the allegations from the Telugu Desam Party of being a puppet in the hands of the Bharatiya Janata Party.Though the YSRC leaders have been denying the same, the TDP has been successful in sowing the seeds of suspicion in the minds of the people.
Now, the YSRC got an opportunity to prove that it is not a supporter of the BJP.
On Tuesday, YSRC parliamentary party leader and Rajya Sabha member V Vijay Sai Reddy announced that his party MPs would vote against the BJP/NDA candidate in the elections to Rajya Sabha deputy chairman post to be held on August 9.While the BJP is not contesting the elections directly, it has announced that Janata Dal (United) candidate Harivansh Narayan Singh would be contesting on behalf of the NDA. But Sai Reddy said the YSRC would vote against him, since the party felt the NDA government had betrayed the people of Andhra Pradesh by denying special category status.
This will largely help the YSRC to get out of the pro-BJP stigma. The party has already declared that there would be no alliances with any party in 2019 elections and that it will go alone in the polls.It would take a call on which party it would support in the post-poll scenario depending on the assurance on the special category status.On the other hand, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi has indicated that it might support the NDA candidate in the elections to RS deputy chairperson post.
The chief minister’s office issued a statement saying Bihar chief minister and JD (U) leader Nitish Kumar personally called Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar seeking support to his party candidate Harivansh Narayan.However, the chief minister said that he would take a decision after discussing with the party leaders. Indications are that the TRS MPs might vote for the JD (U) candidate or if possible, stay away from polling to avoid embarrassment.

After hilarious Chalo, Naga Shaurya is back to entertain with yet another comic caper Narthanasala. Touted to be a film set against the backdrop of dance, Shaurya is seen as a gay. The film’s teaser that is out indicates some fun scenes between father-son duo played by Shivaji Raja and Shaurya respectively.
Shaurya is cool and naughty. He is even seen with gay expressions. While it’s not clear whether he would be seen playing such role throughout in the film or not, his father (Shivaji Raia) who is trying hard to get him married receives shocker of his life when he learns that his son is a gay. Father’s world comes crashing. What forms rest is the film.
Srinivas Chakravarthy, the protege of director Vamshi Paidipally, is wielding the megaphone. Mahati Sagar, son of Mani Sharma, has composed the music. Mahati seems to have given prominence to melody. The background music in the teaser is good. Visuals are complimenting. The teaser of Narthanasala has raised the expectations on the film. Let’s wait and see, what is in store.

The first look of Akkineni Nagarjuna and Nani from the crazy multi-starrer movie ‘Devadas’ is unveiled. This first look is absolutely striking.
King Nagarjuna is seen sleeping with gun and it’s been a while that we haven’t seen Nag in such role. Natural star Nani appears in Doctor get up. Overall, the first look packs a punch.
Written and directed by Sriram Adittya, ‘Devadas’ has Aakanksha Singh and Rashmika Mandanna in the female lead roles.The shooting of the film is in final stages and the makers are aiming for September 27th release. Ashwini Dutt is producing the movie under Vyjayanthi Movies.
