Will Expelled Cong MLAs Get Back Their Seats?
If the Hyderabad high court has its way, two Congress MLAs – Komatireddy Venkat Reddy from Nalgonda and S A Sampath Kumar from Alampur, who were expelled from their seats during the budget session of the assembly in March this year, will get back their posts by next week.
The high court gave a week’s time to the state assembly authorities to restore their assembly membership, lest they face the punishment for contempt of court.The court gave the directions to Telangana Assembly secretary and also law department secretary in this regard.
After hearing the arguments on the contempt petition filed by Komatireddy and Sampath Kumar, the court said the assembly authorities should submit documents pertaining to restoration of their assembly seats and adjourned the case to August 10.It may be mentioned that the high court had passed an order ruling the expulsion of the two legislators by the Assembly as invalid and directed that the two leaders be restored with the MLAs’ status in the Legislative Assembly.
However, the state government or the state assembly are yet to implement the order.The high court sought action against law secretary V Niranjan Rao and Assembly secretary V Narasimha Charyulu for deliberately delaying the implementation of the order.

Kamal Haasan’s Vishwaroopam 2 is in legal trouble
Kamal Hassan’s upcoming film Vishwaroopam 2 is in for yet another controversy.Pyramid Saimira Productions International has now moved a civil suit against Kamal for recovery of Rs 5.44 crore that was paid to the actor’s Raaj Kamal Films International for making the film Marmayogi.According to the agreement, Kamal was to script, direct and do the lead role in the film.
The production house claims that as per a memorandum of understanding that was signed with Raaj Kamal Films International, Rs 10.90 crore was paid by Pyramid Saimira. Kamal, in September 2008, had even written a confirmation mail on the receipt of the money.They have expressed concern, stating that the actor has not proceeded with the work of the film. They have also claimed that the advance and remuneration for the film has not been returned by the actor.
Kamal Haasan has released several films in the last ten years but has still not returned the advance taken from Pyramid Saimira.The production house has made an allegation that the esteemed actor has been using the fund taken for Marmayogi to make other films, and a due petition was filed to recover the amount. Kamal had released his earlier films by furnishing a bank guarantee to the court.
The petitioner claimed that Kamal is in no condition to repay the money owed to Pyramid Saimira.Pyramid Saimira pointed out that the reason why Kamal has associated with Aascar production in this film is due to Kamal’s lack of resources to produce the film alone.The Madras High court has now asked Kamal to respond to the petitioner’s plea to stay Vishwaroopam 2.
Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan, whike talking to the media at the Chennai airport, said that he will deal with the case in court and also added that the release of Vishwaroopam 2 will take place as per plan.

While Kapu reservations became a hot topic in AP politics, TDP MP Avanthi Srinivas has moved a Private Member Bill over the Kapu Reservations in the ongoing Monsoon Session of Lok Sabha. While introducing the Private Member Bill, Avanthi Srinivas has explained in the House about the necessity of Kapu Reservations and the necessity to move the Private Member Bill. Avanthi has explained it in Telugu. By moving a Private Member Bill, TDP has moved a step forward.
However, when to take up the the Bill for the discussion and how much time to allot for the discussion on the Bill would be decided only in the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) of Lok Sabha – comprising MPs of all parties – that will held in the next week.
Earlier, TDP has passed the Bill of inclusion of Kapus into BCs in AP Assembly and sent it to the Parliament. The State has asked the Centre to include Kapus into BCs without affecting the BC communities. AP state government has asked the Centre to include Kapus under Schedule-9 ala in Tamil Nadu. The Kapu Reservations Bill allows the Kapu community people to have reservations in education and employment (government).

Woman Journo Files Complaint On Brand Babu
The makers of Brand Babu got into an unlikely trouble when a woman journalist lodged a complaint with the Banjara Hills police alleging that the director had allegedly used her photograph in the movie without her consent.
According to the police, the woman scribe is working with a vernacular daily in the city. The journo alleged that the makers of Brand Babu had stolen her image from her Facebook page. The image was later used in a death scene in the movie which was directed by Prabhakar Podakandla featuring Sumanth Shailendra and Eesha Rebba.
Knowing that her photograph had been stolen from her Facebook account after the release of the movie on Friday, she lodged a complaint with the police. The makers showed utter disrespect to her by portraying her photo without her consent, she mentioned in her complaint. Further details are awaited.
Brahmotsavam Fever In Srinivasa Kalyanam?
A couple of nights ago, Superstar Mahesh Babu released the trailer for Dil Raju’s upcoming production ‘Srinivasa Kalyanam’. But it looks like there’s more to Mahesh Babu and Srinivasa Kalyanam connect.There are eerie similarities in the posters of Srinivasa Kalyanam and Mahesh Babu’s 2016 debacle ‘Brahmotsavam’. The title logo and the golden brownish colours in Srinivasa Kalyanam’s title poster were reminiscent of Brahmotsavam’s title poster.
And then came Srinivasa Kalyanam’s trailer, which made everyone feel that it offered a strong deja vu of Bramhotsavam. The deep, emotional family relationships, into the face traditions, the North Indian backdrop and the candyfloss romance between the lead pair in Srinivasa Kalyanam’s trailer reminded of Brahmotsavam.These uncanny similarities between Srinivasa Kalyanam and Brahmotsavam are unintentional. But we will have to wait until its release to see whether this Brahmotsavam fever in Srinivasa Kalyanam will only limit to the trailer and posters or not.
Srinivasa Kalyanam is directed by Satish Vegesna. He had earlier directed the national award winning film ‘Shatamanam Bhavathi’, which too was produced by Dil Raju. The director-producer duo had handled the strong family emotions in Shatamanam Bhavathi quite well and ensured its success despite the heavy Sankranthi competition last year. And given their expertise, they will once again ensure the same for Srinivasa Kalyanam next Friday.
