Mahesh Babu’s elder sister Manjula Ghattamaneni is making debut as director with the film Manasuki Nachindi.The film stars Sundeep Kishan, Amyra Dastur and Tridha Choudhury in the lead roles. The romantic entertainer was actually planned for release on January 25.

But Manjula and producers Kiran and Sanjay decided to push the release to Feb 16 as there are too many films lined up for release from Jan 26 to Feb 9.

Anushka’s Bhaagamathie is hitting the marquee on Jan 26 along with Vishnu Manchu’s Aachari America Yatra.February first and second weeks are also crowded with Raviteja’s Touch Chesi Chudu, Tholi Prema and Intelligent starring Varun Tej and Sai Dharam Tej respectively.

With so many notable films lined up for release, makers of Manasuki Nachindi took a wise decision to delay the release by three weeks.Manasuki Nachindi is a crucial film for Sundeep Kishan who has been running through a rough patch in Tollywood lately.

Somehow director Trivikram is hiring content from other writers these days when it comes to creating stories for his films. While his A..Aa is based on novelist Yaddanapudi’s novel, his Agnyaathavaasi is a rip off French film Largo Winch. Anyway, here is an update on his next.

Very soon this talented writer-director will be moving to his next film that will have Jr NTR in the lead. Earlier there are reports that Trivikram bought rights to a detective novel for this film, but latest buzz suggests that he is once again going with Yaddanapudi Sulochana Rani’s novel only.

While the name of the novel is kept under wraps for the now, Trivikram is said to have acquired the rights of a family-drama written by the prominent writer and will have an extra-coating of Trivikram styled comedy all over it. So one can expect to see another Nuvvu Naaku Nachhav and A..Aa kind of treat from Tarak-Trivikram duo now.

But what is a big sigh of relief for cinema lovers is that rather lifting a film from a foreign language it is better to buy rights to a Telugu novel and do it. Otherwise, it is hard to digest when someone like Jerome Salle threatens you with legal action as if Telugu directors have no creativity than stealing some flop Hollywood films.

It’s not often that Pawan Kalyan makes a public appearance with his wife in public. So, understandably, when he did go out with her, the pic went viral.

Pawan along with his wife Anna and Poland’s ambassador to India Adam Burakoswki attended Mass at St Mary’s Basilica, Hyderabad on Sunday.

The Honorable Ambassador had tweeted yesterday that, “Tomorrow I will be present at the inauguration of cooperation between Warsaw based Maharaja Jam Saheb High School with prestigious Hyderabad Public School. I am meeting also famous Telugu movie star Pawan Kalyan – we will discuss possibilities for Telugu cinema in Poland.”

If using his star status, Pawan Kalyan can expand the reach of Telugu cinema beyond the nation’s borders; it is indeed a welcome move or the industry.

But let’s hope he and Trivikram are not planning to dub Agynaathavaasi in the Polish language as the relations between the two countries will be irreparably damaged.

Mega Prince Varun Tej & Raashi Khanna’s ‘Tholiprema’ audio is out in the market and the album has already received a good response from the music lovers and fans. All the guest who attended the audio launch event were surprised with Thaman’s fresh numbers and the music director himself said that ‘Tholiprema’ is his first musical album.

Though Thaman is one of the popular music directors in Tollywood, his works received huge criticism in the past. Right from the beginning of ‘Tholiprema’ film, Thaman seems to be determined to deliver his best output and it is evident after listening to the album. Producer Dil Raju also announced at the audio event that ‘Tholiprema’ is Thaman’s best work in the recent times. Srimani provided lyrics for all the songs.

Venky Atluri is making his debut as a director and ‘Kathi’, ‘Raja Rani’ & ‘Theri’ fame George C Williams is the cinematographer. BVSN Prasad is producing ‘Tholiprema’ under Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra LLP banner and the film will be hitting the screens across the globe on February 9, 2018.

After winning the world with his inimitable performance as ‘Baahubali’, Prabhas is currently busy shooting for a high-budget action entertainer, “Saaho”. As there have been numerous confusing reports about his next film, here is the reliable and latest update.

Prabhas will kick-start the shooting of his next film in April this year i.e. even before wrapping up ‘Saaho’. He will be completing a major portion of Saaho by then, and will shoot for the remaining part simultaneously with the new film.

‘Jil’ fame Radha Krishna Kumar will direct Prabhas in an out and out love story. It will be a massive shift for the macho hero from the action entertainers to love story. The last love story Prabhas did was, ‘Darling’, a super hit film released in 2010.

Radha Krishna has already completed the script work and is currently busy with the casting process. He will be ready to take the film onto sets from April, and Prabhas has already given his nod for that. UV Creations was supposed to produce the film but Prabhas’ uncle Krishnam Raju has recently revealed in a media interaction that his production house Gopi Krishna Pictures will produce it.

Like ‘Saaho’, this untitled romantic drama will also be tri-lingual. Famed Bollywood music composer, Amit Trivedi, who has carved a niche for himself, has been roped in to give the music that connects with both Hindi and Telugu audience. Deepika Padukone has been approached for the female lead role and her response is awaited. Makers are hell bent on roping in a top Bollywood actress, be it Deepika or some other.

At a time when multi-starrers are becoming a rarity in Telugu industry, we have Mahesh and Venkatesh opening doors to new avenues by coming together for Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu. And now, both the heroes are continuing the legacy.

While Venky has already done such films with Pawan Kalyan and Ram, and now coming up with two more such films, Mahesh is doing the same feat with his 25th flick. To be helmed by stylish filmmaker Vamsi Paidipally, this film will have Allari Naresh in an important role.

All these days many felt that this is just either a cameo or a small but crucial role being played by our Comedy hero. Buti it looks like Naresh will be a parallel hero in the movie and the number of dates he allotted for the film proves it. Nearly 70 days are allotted by Naresh for this Mahesh Babu starrer which is likely to have Pooja Hegde as the main lead.

In that case, we could easily guess that Naresh is playing almost another hero in the movie, otherwise, why would he give nearly two months for it? Let’s see if the actor does magic like he has done in Gamyam movie earlier.

Finally, it looks like the search for an actor to play Legendary NTR on the silver screen has ended. At a time when Nandamuri Balakrishna is wearing the shoes of his father for the upcoming biopic, NTR, there is another search going on. This time it is for an actor to reprise the role of Taraka Ramarao for “Mahanati” movie.

From Jr NTR to some other star heroes, many were approached to play the role of NTR in this upcoming biopic of actress Savitri. However, they haven’t found one with many actors including Jr NTR refusing to play the role, for reasons better known to them. And now, we hear that director Nag Ashwin has finally found one.

With Nani having that good friendship with Swapna Dutt through Nandini Reddy, the makers are said to have convinced him to play Sr NTR on the silver screen. As Nani happens to be a controversy-free actor, surely his portrayal will not be questioned by any and everyone knows that he will justify his presence with his terrific acting capabilities.

Currently, Mahanati is going through editing process at Prasad Labs as director Nag Ashwin and his team are spending sleepless nights there to get the right output. Keerthi Suresh will be seen as Savitri, while Dulquer Salman played Gemini Ganesan, Vijay Devarkonda as ANR and Samantha is playing Jamuna’s role in “Mahanati”.

This is not a review of this year’s most awaited film. And why this year? “Padmaavat”, nee Padmavati, is perhaps the most anticipated film since Raj Kapoor’s Satyam Shivum Sunderam. The frenzy that has been incited by some fringe groups, the threats and abuses, the violence and the virulence have whipped up the nation’s appetite.

Methinks, the Sena doth protest too much.

Having had the privilege of being close to the project from its inception, I can say one thing in all certainty. “Padmaavat” is a proud majestic anthem to the valour and pride of the Rajput community. Every frame, every movement exudes a nationalist fervor, a sense of unbridled pride and joy though without a trace of arrogance in being Indian. It is likely to see a major success, perhaps even bigger than “Baahubali”.I wonder what the fringe groups would have to say once the film is out. Will they apologise to the nation and to the community they purport to represent, for misleading them?

The film industry is a soft target for peripheral attention-seeking organisations. I had never heard of the Karni Sena till the “Padmaavat” protests started. Now we can’t hear the end of their bickering and abuses. I get a feeling they will continue to protest against the film even after it releases, so habituated have they become to the limelight in the past months. How will they survive without the platform of television channels to scream invectives at Bhansali and the film industry?

Maybe they can find another hapless filmmaker to target? This will keep on happening as long as an emasculated entertainment industry too afraid to speak up; too self-absorbed to care about what happens to a fellow-filmmaker.As a prominent director explained: “If it was Karan Johar, he would have ten colleagues sitting besides him holding his hand under siege. But Sanjay Bhansali has not made too many friends in the industry. He’s paying the price for it.”One direct fall-out of the unsolicited troubles that “Padmaavat” faced was the fear of history that now grips the film industry. The makers of bio-pic on Jhansi ki Rani are running through their script constantly to ensure no faction is offended by any of the dialogues or situations.

Nonetheless, trouble may visit any film. Some group or the other may come forward to say Kangana Ranaut is not from Jhansi. How dare she play Jhansi Ki Rani? I am surprised nobody brought up the Rajput angle vis-a-vis Deepika Padukone. Or the Islamic card to deride the casting of the Punjabi Ranveer Singh. Never have we seen a society so abjectly divided on the basis of caste and religion.

Here’s the fallout on historicals in Bollywood: No one is going to make them anymore.

Says a filmmaker: “History and mythology are taboo, unless you’re making a “Baahubali”. Hats off to Aamir Khan for his determination to make “Mahabharat”. He can be pulled up for anything — from his wrong cultural identity to his lack of knowledge of the Epic. The best thing is to make a “Golmaal” or a “Judwaa” in this country. Anything deeper gets you into trouble. So, for now, goodbye history.”Unless someone wants to make a film on the troubles that “Padmavaat” faced during its shooting and before its release. That would be one hysterical historical. It may become an even bigger hit than “Padmaavat”.
