Fidaa to Mega Hero’s Planning
The solid foundation laid by Megastar Chiranjeevi and later by Pawan Kalyan facilitated the young Mega heroes to enjoy fan base right from their debut films. In order to capitalize on the massive fan base, the likes of Ram Charan, Bunny and Sai Dharam Tej started doing mass films from very early stage in their respective careers, and the strategy backfired after a few hits.
Varun Tej however has tried to be different from the very beginning. Choosing films like Mukunda and Kanche at the beginning of his career is a demonstration that he is not craving for the ‘typical Mega hero’ tag. His limitations in dances could be another reason why he stayed away from dance-fight films for which Mega heroes are known for.
Varun’s progress has been slow but his planning is good. Even though his initial films didn’t work, ‘Fidaa’ gave him the big break he had been waiting for. Most heroes would take a wrong path after scoring blockbusters but Varun hasn’t shown any such signs. He is still looking for only films that suit him and not aiming for the ‘star’ image yet.
His new film, ‘Tholi Prema’ has good craze in market. Dil Raju buying the film for an outright price has also amplified the buzz on the film. Varun has recently said that he hasn’t signed any new films yet but reliable information is that he has given his consent to star in Dil Raju-Anil Ravipudi’s “F2”. He is in talks with Sankalp Reddy of ‘Ghazi’ fame and also with ‘Haathi Mere Saathi’ makers – two very different and potential projects that can increase his reach.
Varun is also one of the very few heroes in Tollywood who don’t indulge in controversies, link-ups. The Goodwill he is earning and the Talent he has will take him a long way, say industry people.
Kalyan’s Son Plays NTR’s Childhood Role
With the shooting of a special teaser for NTR Biopic having already commenced, interesting details about the project are coming to our notice one by one. Afresh, we have learned about the actor who is on board to play Sr NTR’s childhood role.
Nandamuri Kalyan Ram’s son and Sr NTR’s great-grandson, Shourya Ram has been chosen to play the childhood character of Nandamuri legend. Director Teja has planned to shoot a few scenes on the kid tomorrow, on Monday for the sake of teaser. Since it is the biopic of NTR, Balayya Babu has reportedly advised Teja to take a child actor from the Nandamuri family only to essay the childhood character.
Master Shourya Ram had earlier played his father, Kalyan Ram’s childhood role in “Ism”, which was directed by Puri Jagannath. NTR Biopic is going to be the Nandamuri kid’s second film.
The teaser is being planned to be released on NTR’s Vardhanthi, on Jan 18. The film’s regular shoot will commence from March.
4 Telugu Students Feared Drowned
Four Telugu students, all pursuing Engineering, are feared to have drowned in a pond in West Godavari district on Saturday. They were reportedly on an outing when they went missing.
Police, who searched the area chosen by the students to make their picnic spot, said they had found the students’ backpacks and lunchboxes near the pond. The reports suggest that the students might have laid their backpacks nearby, and decided to jump into the pond for a quick swim. With more than 24 hours gone by since they went missing, police and parents fear the students might have drowned in the pond.
All the four students are pursuing Engineering course in Ramachandra College of Engineering, Eluru. An extensive search is on to find them.
Balakrishna To Build Film Studio
Nandamuri Balakrishna is going to build his own film studio in the new state of Andhra Pradesh. He said he has plans to build his own film studio in AP. However, this may take sometime.
The actor-politician is quite broadminded and wears a large-heart. Ask him whether Telugu film industry (Tollywood) would shift its base to AP? His answer stuns all.
“It is wrong to expect to shift Telugu film industry from Hyderabad to Amaravati. Since both are Telugu states, it is unfair to expect to shift the industry. People of both states are Telugu people. When Telugu film industry had shifted from Chennai to Hyderabad, there was a strong reason. Regional feeling and language feeling have influenced and impacted to change the base of the industry. Whereas now, there is no need for industry to change as there are no such disparities. It is voluntary decision of a producer, studio owner and actors,” Balakrishna was quoted as saying.
Balakrishna further said that the exotic and natural locations with a lot of green foilage. With dominating nature’s beauty, the scenery is nice and pleasant. Balayya said it is his personal choice to set up a film studio in AP.
Already, Ramanaidu Studios was established in Visakhapatnam. And there has been talks of several other film producers, actors interested to start their film studios in AP. Balayya has now openly expressed his plans. This is a welcome change.
Akhil Back To Acting School?
Akhil to undergo special training under Satyanand. Apparently, Nagarjuna wanted Akhil to further groom his acting skills as there has been severe criticism against Akhil’s acting in his last two films. Although Hello was better than his debut, Akhil still needs to hone his skills to perform well.
If one closely observes Hello, none of the scenes see Akhil directly seeing camera, he looks side ways. This is a technique that is to cover up Akhil’s acting besides to give some ‘natural’ touch up. No doubt, Akhil is good in dances and fights. His efforts are commendable. Whereas when it comes to acting, he still needs to learn a lot.
Akhil too recently admitted that he wants to improve himself and has been watching his films (Akhil and Hello) several times only to find out his mistakes and to correct them. He admitted of watching his maiden film Akhil by over 30 films. All these further corroborate that Akhil is gearing up to undergo training in Satyanand Film Institute.
Star-maker Lanka Satyanand’s students include Pawan Kalyan, Mahesh Babu, Prabhas, Sharwanand, Varun Tej and latest Chiranjeevi’s son-in-law Kalyan Kanuganti besides many others.
It is always good to work up on acting skills and improve one’s self especially when huge budgets are involves. This shows the commitment of Akhil and Nagarjuna as actors.

Kohli Fails in 1st Game After Wedding; Fans Target Anushka!
Actress Anushka Sharma, who has recently married her boyfriend and Indian cricket team captain, Virat Kohli had to once again face backlash on social media after the ace cricketer miserably failed in his first game after marriage.
The ongoing Test match against South Africa is the first game that Virat Kohli is playing after wedding. Like a dutiful wife, Anushka cheered her hubby on as he went all padded up into the field on the first day of the Test match. It’s sad to see the newly-wed Anushka face this trolling, say sane cricket fans. Rahul Shocks Telangana Reddy Leaders
AICC President Rahul Gandhi poured cold water on Telangana Congress leaders particularly Reddys’ hopes to become Chief of Telangana Congress.
Rahul extended the incumbent TPCC President N Uttam Kumar Reddy’s term for two more years. Continuation of Uttam as TPCC Chief dashed the plans of many leaders – Komatireddy Venkatreddy, DK Aruna, KR Suresh Reddy, Jana Reddy and other Reddy leader who lobbied for TPCC President post.
In a statement , AICC President Rahul Gandhi made it clear that there will be no change in the leadership of the state congress committees and also other party affiliated committees working in the states. The AICC decision to not to change the leadership has come as a big relief to Uttam Kumar Reddy who has been fighting hard against the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s government tooth and nail by exposing the government’s failures.

World’s Most Expensive Vodka Stolen
In a headline-making incident, the ‘world’s most expensive’ vodka bottle, approx. worth USD 1.3M was stolen, and recovered two later, in empty state.
The bottle, made of gold and silver and having a diamond encrusted cap, was on display at a bar in Copenhagen, capital of Denmark. The bar had a collection of vodkas on display. The CCTV footage showed an intruder grabbing the vodka bottle and fleeing. The bottle was found unbroken but empty on a construction site in the city, two days later.
No one has any clue about what might have happened to the vodka. Police think that the thief must not have any idea about the bottle’s value or he wouldn’t have thrown it after presumably drinking the vodka in it.
The owner of the bar said the empty bottle was still valued at the same price. He added he had more of the same vodka that was previously in the bottle and that he would refill the bottle and put it back on display.
To mention another remarkable feat of the bottle, it had featured in an episode of the popular TV show, “House of Cards” as a gift from the Russian President to the US President.
BAN: Mahesh Fans Worried?
With the makers of Allu Arjun’s Naa Peru Surya no mood to change their release date and Shankar-Rajini’s 2.0 (Robot sequel) too arriving in April (i.e on April 14), Mahesh’s Bharat Ane Nenu team is now puzzled on what to do next. While they are toying with the idea of releasing the film in May, fans are reportedly against to the idea of releasing the film in May given the previous bad experiences May had given them.
Most of the worst failures of Mahesh were released in May. Nijam (May 23, 2003), Naani (May 14, 2004), Brahmotsavam (May 20, 2016) were all May releases which remained as a bad memory both for Mahesh and his fans.
On the other hand, April 27 or April 28 have got a very good track record. Industry hits such as Baahubali 2, NTR’s Adavi Ramudu (April 28, 1977) were all released in April and created records.
Apparently, Mahesh is also keen on releasing the film in April itself. It needs to be seen, what will be Danayya’s final call on the issue.
