Manasuku Nachindi Movie Review

Share

Mahesh Babu’s elder sister Manjula turned director with Manasuku Nachindi, a romantic drama focused on a confused couple. One would expect the film to offer a bit of freshness, but it turns out to be a tedious fare with stale and outdated script.

Story :

Suraj (Sundeep) and Nithya (Amyra) runaway from their own marriage as their elders mistook their friendship as love. Suraj and Nithya fall in love with another girl and boy (Arun and Tridha). But later realizes their true love for each other.

Performances:

Sundeep is good as the boy next door. His styling and looks are done right. He came up with a laudable performance as a confused youth. Amyra is an amateur and couldn’t do justice to a performance oriented role. Tridha sizzled in bikinis and Arun is okay in a limited role. Priyadarshi is alright. Punarnavi and Nasser performances add to the emotional aspect.

Technicalities:

Manjula Ghattamaneni’s love for nature and her ideologies towards life are evident. However she gets preachy with the subject of meditation and love for nature. The story penned by her has striking resemblance to movies like Nuvve Kavali, Nuvvu Leka Nenu Lenu etc. There is hardly any freshness in the script or execution.

Music by Radhan is strictly average. Ravi Yadav’s camera work is the best thing about the film. His camera captures Goa and its nature beautifully. Editing is awry. Dialogues are tiresome. Production values are just fine.

Thumbs Up:

  • Sundeep Kishan
  • Cinematography

Thumbs Down:

  • Routine script
  • Outdated execution
  • Dragging screenplay

Analysis:

A couple being brought up together don’t realize their true feelings for each other. They only come to know that they love each other after falling in love with other persons. This story is as old as hills and was done to death in Tollywood. There were super hits and super duds with similar plot line.

Surprisingly, Majula takes up such an outdated storyline for her directorial debut. She made an attempt to present it differently by incorporating few things like love for nature, but such things get overly dramatic and unbearable after a point. A little girl chasing a butterfly, the protagonist realizing his love for photography, lead actress taking meditation classes etc. gives a television serial feel to it.

None of the love stories are charming enough to capture the interest of the viewers. Everything in the film has that ‘been-there-seen-that’ feel to it. Even the emotions fail to tug the hearts because of poor direction. Most of the emotional scenes are shot on Amyra, who is a bad actress and she fails miserably in getting it right. The film is stretched beyond a point in spite of predictable ending.

The much publicized Mahesh Babu’s voice over is restricted to a single scene, which is a huge disappointment for fans. Manjula should come up with innovative ideas if she is hoping for a career as a filmmaker. Films like Manasuku Nachindi don’t take her anywhere. This will go down as another flop for struggling Sundeep Kishan, who seems absolutely clueless about what to do.

Verdict: Sleep inducing romance.

Not ‘Awe’struck..It’s Awful!

Nani’s production Awe has come as a huge shocker to many who have caught up the early screening of the film this Friday.

While Nani’s over-the-top statement that Awe would be a game-changer for the Telugu film industry, the film turned out to be a damp squib. Based on the severe multiple personality disorder of Kali (Kajal Aggarwal) – the concept that was dealt by Shankar and Vikram way back in Aparichitudu, and a few other films that already touched this point, the film otherwise doesn’t have anything new except dealing the cause of sexual abuse.

The only freshness in the film is that there are several power cuts within the film and visuals go just blank with only audio is heard. This happens several times and at times, it literally tests the patience of viewers.

Although the film’s concept sounds good, the film’s director falters it in the execution. With film being visual media and visuals going blank often is not very welcome change. The debutante filmmaker Prashant Varma seems to have got stuck with his short film ‘Dialogue in the dark’ that is made on virtual audio with total proceedings take place inside a ‘dark’ restaurant.

All these together make Awe and awful film.

Flops Effect? Tej’s New Film Cancelled!

Share

Mega nephew, Sai Dharam Tej, who is blessed with the looks of his elder uncle, Megastar Chiranjeevi and the attitude (on-screen) of his younger uncle, Pawan Kalyan is going through the driest phase of his career.

With four flops (Thikka, Winner, Jawaan and Inttelligent – five, if we count ‘Nakshatram’) in a row, he is one hero who scares producers at the moment. His latest film, ‘Inttelligent’ incurring nearly 90 percent loss, is a testimony to how badly his market has crashed. And, unsurprisingly, the immediate aftereffect is being seen on his new projects that are in pre-production stage.

The latest we hear is that Tej’s supposed project with director Gopichand Malineni got cancelled as the producer backed out. Besides the disaster streak of Tej, the other factor that might have alerted the producer is that one of the films in the disaster streak – Winner – was directed by Malineni himself.

The reports further suggest that Malineni, who spent a long time in fine-tuning the script, has started scouting for another producer, who could be daring enough to invest on his combo with Sai Dharam Tej.

Meanwhile, Tej has shifted his total focus to his new film being directed by Karunakaran, a specialist in making romantic entertainers. This film is an out and out love story, a much needed change from the masala films he had been doing. He has another project lined up withe the critically acclaimed Chandrasekhar Yeleti. Tej completely banks on these two directors to give him an image makeover and save his sinking career.

Nivetha Thomas Makes Up for ‘Awe’ Heroines

Share

After creating decent buzz and promising a first of its kind viewing experience in Tollywood, Nani’s “Awe” finally hit screens today.

Nani, who has been busy promoting the film relentlessly for the past few days, watched the film this morning in Hyderabad’s Imax. Upon his invite, Rajamouli and his family also attended the screening. Nivetha Thomas also made it to the show after being specially invited by Nani. She was the only notable heroine in attendance.

Surprisingly, none of the four heroines of “Awe” – Kajal, Regina Cassandra, Nithya Menen and Eesha Rebba, who had earlier promoted the film enthusiastically, didn’t make it to the Imax show. Being Nani’s two-time co-star and a good friend, Nitvetha Thomas tried her best to cover up the conspicuous absence of ‘Awe’ leading ladies.

Shock! US Senate Rejects Immigration Proposals

Share

The US Senate on Thursday rejected all the four immigration reform proposals put forward, which, if passed, could have immensely benefited the 1.8 million young migrants who were brought to the country as children (Dreamers) and hundreds of thousands of ‘skilled’ Indian IT professionals.

Senators failed to get enough votes for either of the immigration bill to be passed. Furthermore, the one bill backed by President Donald Trump (would have paved way for giving permanent citizenship to 1.8 million Dreamers) lost 39-60 votes. The bill would have also curbed family-based immigration and ended diversity lottery visa.

After the bill failed to move ahead in Senate, the fate of the Dreamers (comprise majority of Indians) became uncertain as Trump had scrapped the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program in September last year and gave the Congress six months to legislate a solution.

If no deal if reached by March 5, around 700,000 Dreamers who registered under DACA and the remaining 1.1 million who were eligible but didn’t sign up could begin to face deportation.

Another prominent immigration bill that failed was the one that aimed to ‘remove per-country cap on green card’. If passed, it could have benefited a large number of high skilled Indian IT professionals, who will have to wait as much as 70 years to get American citizenship as per the existing system. The proposal was to replace per-country cap system, which has created a huge backlog of Indian applicants, with a merit-based system.

Hrithik Sacked Her, Kangana Appointed Her

Share

The spat saga between Bollywood stars Hrithik Roshan and Kangana Ranaut has been a bottomless sea. With all the shocking accusations and lawsuits, the duo has been a hot topic for a time. When the intensity of their dispute is gradually decreasing over time, here is a twist to all the episodes.

Buzz is that Kangana ignited new sparks by hiring her rumoured ex-boyfriend Hrithik’s sacked manager Anjali.  After working together for twelve years, Hrithik had some problem with his manager Anjali (working through Exceed company) and sacked her. And when Anjali applied for a job, Kangana immediately hired her through her own company Bling. With Anjali being a close acquaintance with Hrithik, now many wonder what will she spill about the macho hero to Kangana.

However, Anjali trashed all such comments claiming that they have a very professional relationship and admitted that she made things clear with Queen beauty that the discussion of Hrithik will never erupt between them.

Whatever the situation is, some are confident that amidst the controversial rumours between Kangana and Hrithik, this is going to create some uncomfortable incidents between them again.
