Tamanna’s Flop Film To Release in Telugu

Share

Vikram and Tamannah’s Sketch which released for Sankranthi along with Suriya’s Gang has bagged mixed reviews to negative reviews. And many thought that the film’s Telugu-dubbed version won’t see the light of the day again.

However, surprisingly, the makers have locked the release date of Sketch in Telugu as February 23.

The action thriller failed to attract the local Tamil audiences. The film was criticized for its old story, and Vikram would be seen as a gangster Jeeva who repossesses cars from defaulters for a local loan shark. However, Jeeva lands in trouble when he repossess a prized possession of another crazy gangster which is a vintage Fiat.

Even Vikram’s last films in Telugu Inkokkadu (Iru Mugan), 10 (10 Endrathukulla), I (I in Tamil) have tanked without a trace. Yet, the makers are now daring to release Sketch which already got lukewarm response in Tamil. Let’s see what is in store.

JFC Day 2: ‘SCS Is Better Than Special Package’

Share

The Joint Facts Finding Committee (JFC) constituted by Pawan Kalyan comprising several intellectuals, veterans is expected to submit its final report in a couple of days. The report is expected in some two days, commented Undavalli Arun Kumar who is a key member of the JFC.

Commenting on the developments, Undavalli opined that the JFC is weighing various options in order to see which benefits the cash-strapped Andhra Pradesh which lost its capital to the bifurcated Andhra Pradesh. Undavalli felt that the Special Category Status may benefit AP more. And JFC would announce its final result in two days.

Many in the JFC Committee apparently opined that one can’t put a “number” to ‘in lieu of” the proposed Special Category Status as the amount of benefits that comes with the SCS could not be assessed since it depends on the functioning of the state government and how well one government could make use of it by attracting many investors, companies.

It needs to be seen how the TDP and BJP would respond once the JFC report comes out as both the key parties are favouring a Financial Package instead of the Special Category Status to the AP. Amidst this, the JFC report becomes crucial.

Meanwhile, the JFC’s first major achievements include the appointment of two senior IAS officers from the State Government to assess the Centre’s funds and the revealing of the accounts to the JFC.

Faded Out Hero Turns Charan’s Brother

Share

This is the time where some heroes are not finding their careers in the right shape and they are shifting to other roles, especially playing villains. Jagapathi Babu is the finest example and it looks like another hero is likely to kick-start his second innings.

He is none other than Aryan Rajesh. He debuted into the industry as the son of veteran filmmaker E.V.V.Satyanarayana and has acted in nearly 14 movies as a hero but failed to register big hits. Taking a break from acting after his marriage, he is now going to mark his comeback into the Tollywood not as a hero but as the supporting character.

Yes, he is going to play the brother of mega hero Ram Charan. We know that this mega hero who is currently busy with his upcoming period drama ‘Rangasthalam’ has already signed a project with mass director Boyapati Srinu. It is now official that Aryan Rajesh is going to be seen as the brother of Mega Powerstar in the movie. Journey fame Ananya is playing the wife of Rajesh in this action drama.

Well, the actor who failed to get the much-needed recognition as a hero is now testing his luck by taking up supporting roles. Let’s see if he rocks this particular act-2 of his life with ease and goes on to become the most demanded actor like a Jagapathi Babu.

Fan Calls SDT, Cries on Phone!

A die-hard mega fan who has good bond with hero Sai Dharam Tej has pained with the result of Tej’s recently released film Inttelligent that tanked without a trace. The mega fan has personally called Sai Dharam Tej the other day and loudly cried on phone. Although Tej tried his best to pacify his fan, the fan couldn’t stop his cry and the fans tears said to have rolled.

It is learnt that the fan has been waiting for big success for Sai Dharam Tej who is of late going through rough phase. Tej’s last films Inttelligent, Jawaan, Nakshatram, Winner and Thikka haven’t fared well at the BO as per the expectations of trade, fans.

Sai apparently assured his fan that he would make right choices hereafter to satiate his fans. He said to have told his fan that he would soon make good comeback and asked him to be patient till then as failure is part and parcel of an actor’s life. The emotional fan too said to have hung the call hoping that Tej would keep his word with his next film. Let’s wait and see.

OPS: Modi Suggested Me to Merge With EPS

Share

In a shocking revelation, ex Chief Minister and the current deputy chief minister O Panneerselvam, who had merged his faction with that of chief minister E Palaniswami (EPS) last year, has said that he had acted on a suggestion from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Speaking at a party office-bearers meeting at Theni on February 16, the AIADMK coordinator said that the issue came up during a courtesy meeting he had with Modi in New Delhi last year.

“He (Modi) said that you (Panneerselvam) could join (merge the faction) to save the party,” OPS said, without specifying the exactly when the conversation took place. The merger of the two AIADMK factions took place in August 2017.

However, these remarks of OPS courted a controversy as this acknowledged the ongoing reports of politics played by the BJP in AIADMK split and merger.  It can be noted that the AIADMK is the key ally of BJP and AIADMK is vital for the BJP.

O Panneerselvam, who had become chief minister of the state following the death of his predecessor J Jayalalithaa in December 2016, said he told Modi that he did not want any Cabinet position and can settle for a party post. But Modi wanted him to join the ministry headed by Palaniswami, OPS revealed.

OPS further said that he had conveyed the same to two of his cabinet colleagues from the Palaniswami camp prior to the merger, and that they also insisted he accept a minister’s post. “That is why I am a minister today. I have no desire to be a minister. Amma (Jayalalithaa) made me MLA four times and chief minister twice. That honour itself is enough for me,” he told the gathering.

Panneerselvam took over as chief minister twice – in 2001 and later in 2014 – when Jayalalithaa was convicted in two different cases. In 2014, Jayalalithaa and her confidante Sasikala were convicted in the Rs 66.66 crore disproportionate assets case.

Panneerselvam, who revolted against Sasikala and her family last year after allegedly being forced to make way for her elevation to the chief minister’s post, charged that her family members tried to work for his defeat in the 2016 polls. Sasikala, however, could not become the chief minister due to her conviction in the graft case.

“If anyone else had faced this amount of crisis and problems, they would have committed suicide or would have left the party. (But) I tolerated everything for Amma,” he said.

‘Mr Naidu, Show The Accounts’

Share

BJP MLC Somu Veerraju is at it again. Breathing fire on Chandrababu Naidu and ally TDP, Somu Veerraju in his latest salvo shot direct question to Chandrababu on what his government has done to the backward regions in Andhra Pradesh state.

Claiming that the Centre has given an exemption of 30 per cent in the Excise Duty, Income Tax for the state in last September (Sep 2017), Somu Veerraju has questioned that what companies did TDP bring to the state since then?

Somu Veerraju has also raised the issue of Special Category Status and said that Special Category is nothing but financial package. Stating that Chandrababu Naidu has sought for Rs 16,000 Crore from the Centre as financial assistance to the State for the backward regions, Somu Veerraju asked AP government that what blue print it has to develop the backward districts such as Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Rayalaseema and where the AP government is planning to spend the amount and how it is planning to spend the funds from the Centre. He even questioned about the Centre’s Rs 1600 Crore funds for Amaravati and asked for the accounts of the Rs 1600 Crore.

Levelling direct allegations against Naidu and his government for not ‘highlighting’ Centre’s Sops to the state, Veerraju further said that AP government is trying to unpopular Modi in AP.

In his no-holds-barred political attack, Somu Veerraju went onto defame state government. This is not all. Somu Veerraju asked AP government that what more Centre needs to do for AP.

Somu Veerraju didn’t even spare the TDP’s poll promises in 2014. He has asked TDP that how many promises it has kept in the promises it made during the 2014 general polls.

Varma Missed Out That Logic – Hyd Police

Share

Speaking with a TV channel, Police Additional DGP who investigated Ram Gopal Varma has informed that unlike media’s project that Varma generally don’t talk in a straight way has spoken clearly about everything. However, police clarified that the case around Varma is so tight and if the offences are proved he may land in jail for a period of 2-5 years.

Additional DCP Raghuveer revealed that acting on the complaint by Women’s Rights Activist Devi they have found that Varma committed things against law by portraying woman indecently in his movie. “If Varma is feeling that he will not come under the purview of law if he has shot the film abroad, it’s wrong. He has missed out a logic that being an Indian citizen he could be tried for any offence even though he has committed it abroad” the DCP clarified.

Also, he stated that this case is very big in its nature and intensity. He added, “Varma is saying that he has not even directed the film GST and only gave his concept. Also, he said that he met Mia Malkova during some other shooting of her in Poland. But we have evidence that he himself has directed the film. So we sought him for further explanation and he will be investigated after Forensic team extracts pictures from this laptop”.

Has Varma agreed to what police has said and what the law is dictating? a journo asked. “If he agrees with everything, then under guilt, he would have got arrested by now and sent to jail”, the DCP is quick to reply.

After Asking 24 Qs, Police Seized Varma’s Phone & Laptop

Share

After grilling him for nearly 3 hours and 21 minutes, Central Crime Station police has once served notices to director Ram Gopal Varma under 41 CrPC and he should be attending the questioning once again on Monday. As per this section, if Varma’s answer fails to impress the Investigation Officer on Monday, he’s likely to get arrested.

Varma has appeared before police on Saturday afternoon at 12’o clock where police officials questioned him about his adult web-film “God, Sex and Truth”. Earlier a case was booked against Varma for alleged derogatory remarks on women. Women activist Devi lodged a case against him for both insulting women through his GST and also for making crass remarks on women who spoke to him in ‘live’ debates. Also, another writer named Jaya Kumar lodged a case of plagiarism on Varma accusing that the maverick director stole his script.

Upon his arrival along with his lawyer, Varma is being questioned by a group of five policemen regarding his film GST. As per reports doing rounds, he’s asked a total of 24 questions and police also seized his phone and laptop, and they will be sent to forensic examination. Buzz has that Varma failed to answer the questions of CCS police properly and he faltered in the presence of his lawyer.

Meanwhile, those who have lodged cases on Varma are busy attending various debates on Telugu channels, voicing their opinion that a strict action should be taken on RGV.

Dil Raju Shocked with Chalo Success?

Share

Producer and distributor Dil Raju was apparently regretting for ‘missing’ Chalo. Although initially the proposal of Chalo came to Raju, he couldn’t take a call on it. This eventually went into the hands of Raju’s competitor Asian Cinemas’ Suneel. And the film subsequently became one of the big hits of the year.

Dil Raju is apparently feeling bad that he ‘missed out’ Chalo and he should had bought the film. Apparently, Raju expressed ‘shock’ to his close aides over the Chalo’s success.

By the end of two weeks, the film’s producers announced earning a gross of 23.31 Crore. While the film’s theatrical rights were sold only for meagre Rs 6 Crore, the film is declared as a blockbuster at the Box Office.

In addition to it, the film fetched satellite rights of 2.5 Crore before the film’s release. Including audio and all other, the film did make a fancy moolah to Shaurya’s parents who ventured into production.

There is nothing wrong in Dil Raju feeling ‘missed out’ on such an opportunity.
