Young hero Naga Shaurya, who is upbeat with the success of his latest release, “Chalo”, has green lit a new film, which has got an interesting title. According to reports, the new project has been titled, ‘Guruvaram March Okati’, after a chartbuster melody from Mahesh Babu-starrer “Dookudu”. Reports further suggest that actor-director Kasi Viswanath will direct this romantic comedy.

For the starters, Kasi Viswanath made his directorial debut with super hit film, “Nuvvu Leka Nenu Lenu” in 2002 after working in the direction department for 25 films. His second film was ‘Tholi Choopulone’, which marked the silver screen debut of Kalyan Ram Nandamuri. After that, Viswanath became busy as an actor, and is returning to direction after 15 years.

Apparently, Kasi Viswanath has worked on the script for many years, and approached Shaurya only after he was fully satisfied with the final draft. The young hero has reportedly given his green signal but the film will go on floors only after Shaurya completes his prior commitments.

The idea of naming the film after Mahesh’s song was coined by the director, and Shaurya liked it. Earlier, Naga Chaitanya’s ‘Ye Maya Chesave’ and ‘Saahasam Swasaga Saagipo’ were named after songs from Mahesh’s “Okkadu”.

Gone are the days where distributors will stay distributors and producers will remain just producers. These days some producers are turning into other business ventures, while distributors are quickly turning to film production. Starting from Dil Raju to Abhishek Nama, there are many such examples.

At a time some noted production houses like UV Creations and Studio Green are venturing into distribution, we hear that one of the Nizam’s biggest distributor is now turning into film production. They are none other than popular Asian group headed by Sunil Narang. They are all set to make their first ever Telugu movie and already finalised a script along with cast and crew.

None other than charismatic director Sekhar Kammula will be directing the debut film of Asian Cinemas and it will feature hero Nani in the lead. While the combination of this natural star and natural director is intriguing, what is more stunning is the arrival of Asian into production. Because this distribution company already owns (on lease) many theatres in Nizam area and their arrival would create huge flutters in the industry.

Already many filmmakers are complaining that they are not getting thetares. Now that the likes of Dil Raju, Sunil Narang and Abhishek who own leases of many theatres are in production, there are minute chances that films made by other small-time producers will now get enough theatres.

Here is the first look of young hero Nithiin’s landmark 25th film, “Chal Mohan Ranga”. Featuring Nithiin and Megha Akash, the poster looks as vibrant and lively as the catchy title.

Pawan Kalyan Creative Works, Trivikram and Nithiin’s home banner, Sreshth Movies have together bankrolled this romantic entertainer. Lyricist-turned-director Krishna Chaitanya has directed. The film is being planned for Summer release.

Chal Mohan Ranga is the second film in which Megha paired up with Nithiin, after LIE. Expectations are high since big names like Trivikram and Pawan Kalyan are involved in the project.

The multi-talented Manchu Manoj, who has been scoring only flops for past few years, has made a big announcement. After choreographing stunts, penning lyrics and singing songs, Manoj has done another hat, of a music composer.

Manoj excitedly announced that he had composed music for a Hollywood film, “Basmati Blues”. The film, released across North America on February 9, marks the debut of Manoj as a music director. He collaborated with his good friend and noted music composer, Achu Rajamani to score music for the Hollywood flick.

Starring Oscar winning actress Brie Larson in the lead, Basmati Blues has Manoj’s sister, Lakshmi Manchu playing a key role. Its Lakshmi, who is a good friend of Brie Larson, who helped Manoj get on board this Hollywood musical.

Meanwhile, Manoj has revealed that his new film will go on floors in May.

Varun Tej’s “Tholi Prema” opened to decent to positive reviews and equally good box office numbers. With a worldwide gross of Rs 9.5 Cr, Tholi Prema registered the highest opening day in Varun’s career overtaking his previous best, Fidaa (8.45 Cr).

In the Telugu states, the romantic drama grossed 5.2 Cr and fell behind Fidaa, which had collected 5.5 Cr on its opening day.

A day before it’s release in India, Tholi Prema premiered in USA, and took a fabulous opening. By Saturday, the film took its tally to $550K approx. and racing towards 1 million. It can be Varun Tej’s second successive 1 million grosser in USA after Fidaa, which had raked in $2 million in full run.

Mega hero Sai Dharam Tej has been facing so many ups and downs in his career. Whenever he is scoring a hit, the actor is delivering two flops which is disappointing the fans.

Ever since the super hit of Supreme, the mega nephew haven’t actually scored any hit. His Jawaan movie which came out as a patriotic treat also turned out to be a flop. He then pinned his hopes on latest release Inttelligent, and to his disappointment, this film also garnered negative feedback from the audience and poor ratings from critics.

The flop talk of Inttelligent went all the way to Pawan Kalyan if sources are to be believed. He’s said to have really got upset and now worried about his nephew’s career. A source shared that he called up director Karunakaran who is going to helm Sai Dharam’s upcoming movie to discuss the way that film is shaping up. He told his Tholiprema director to pull all the tricks in the glove to give a super hit for his nephew. Despite being a busy political star at the moment, the concern Powerstar has for his nephew is really appreciable.

Anyway, Tej has given the nod for Karunakaran’s project even before the release of his Jawaan movie. The makers have recently launched the film and the shooting is happening from a time. ‘Sathamanam Bhavathi’ beauty Anupama Parameswaran is roped in as the leading lady of the film.

With Tholi Prema opened to rave reviews from all corners, one person who regrets most would be Mehreen as she was the initial cast for the Varsha’s role played by Raashi Khanna.

Apparently, director Venky Atluri wanted a girl who is slim, urban and posh. But Mehreen gained a lot of kilos especially after Mahanubhavudu and couldn’t fit for the requirements of Varsha’s role in Tholi Prema. The makers of Tholi Prema have opted for Raashi Khanna who really did a great job. Raashi’s acting prowess was noticeable on screen. Especially in emotional scenes, she really excelled and acted equally well on par with Varun, thus making the simple love story further engaging.

Had Mehreen did this, certainly it would have helped her much since her last two films C/O Surya, Jawaan were disappointments. But sadly, Mehreen lost a good film.

Stunning beauty Samantha is sharing the screen space with mega hero Ram Charan for the first time with Rangastalam. Touted to be a period drama, the entire story is set in the village backdrop of 1985.

As our brilliant director, Sukumar is carving this project, expectations are usually high. Owing to that, recently released one-minute teaser video introducing Ram Charan’s look has made the expectations on the movie to take a surge. As the video hasn’t featured the leading lady Samantha, the fans were disappointed. But to convince them the makers have unveiled the first look of Samantha by releasing another 30-second video.

Digging into the story, ever since the inception of the project rumours are being heard Ram Charan is playing a deaf guy whereas Samantha will be portraying the role of a dumb girl. The first teaser that introduced Mega power star as Sound Engineer Chittibabu has proved that Charan indeed is playing a deaf role. Though Samantha’s introduction teaser hasn’t proved that she is dumb, Charan giving background to introduce her role added to the speculations.

It looks like Sam is playing a speech-impaired character which is why Cherry gave the voice over. Maybe we have to wait till the release date March 30 to find out more about Rama Lakshmi.

It’s the craze amongst audiences that will decide the fate of a film at box office. Few films that have no story end up as superhits, just because of love being showered by audiences as they don’t have an option to watch other than this. Sometimes, movie lovers reject it straight away. That’s what happening with Sai Dharam Tej and VV Vinayak’s Inttelligent now.

After the First Day First Show itself, word started spreading about Inttelligent that director Vinayak missed his target and hero Sai Dharam tasted another bitter result. The word is faster than the collections, but the numbers are heard to have shocked even the people in trade. While the biggest disaster in Sai Dharam’s career, Thikka, has made nearly 90 lakhs ‘share’ in Nizam area, Inttelligent scored only 50+ lakhs share, a source revealed.

That explains that audience are not at all interested to catch up this ‘Inttelligent’ film as they are completely upset with the mega hero coming up with nonsensical movies. Despite getting a flop talk, his movies like Winner (6.25 crores / Day1) and Jawaan (3.62 cr share / Day1) posted pretty good numbers, but Inttelligent made only 2 crores ‘share’ on the first day while the target is to reach 27 crores share from box office to save all the distributors involved.

Going by the trend, the movie is going to end up as a mega-disaster in Sai Dharam Tej’s career and it’s time for the young hero to recheck his decision-making skills about stories.
