I-T Raids On Vemireddy For Joining YSRC?
It looks like prominent industrialist, philanthropist from Nellore Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy is paying a price for defecting from Telugu Desam Party to YSR Congress party.It was only last week that Vemireddy joined the YSRC after getting a firm assurance from party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy that he would be nominated to Rajya Sabha elections to which are likely to be held in another three months.
He also participated in Praja Sankalpa Yatra of Jagan a couple of days ago.Vemireddy was disgruntled with TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu for going back on the promise of nominating him to Rajya Sabha and preferred Kurnool leader T G Venkatesh to him.But, Vemireddy’s defection to the YSRC was not taken kindly by the TDP leadership. On Wednesday night, there were reported Income Tax (I-T) raids his houses and offices in Nellore, Chennai and Hyderabad.
Vemireddy owns an infrastructure company called – VPR Infrastructures which takes up works across the world. The details of the IT raids are not yet known.Though the TDP sources deny of having any connection with the I-T raids on Vemireddy, the timing of the raids has led to these suspicions.
One wonders why there were no Income Tax raids on Vemireddy till date and why only now. Obviously, he cannot commit a fraud within a few days.Definitely, something is fishy in this entire episode!
Everything Is Temporary In Amaravati!
Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu appears to have realised that he cannot take up construction of official buildings on a permanent basis in Amaravati for obvious reasons.The designs are still in the finalisation stages and moreover, there is no money.
So, he has decided to remain content with temporary constructions. The present interim secretariat complex and the state legislature at Velagapudi, constructed at a huge cost, are all temporary and many of the buildings have already started leaking during heavy rains.The entire complex turns into a cess pool when there is a heavy rain.
Naidu shows he cannot take up construction of permanent structures in his current regime before next elections. But he is facing severe space crunch for the officials, especially those of the assembly.So, the government is now planning to construct yet another temporary building adjacent to the assembly building for the assembly staff and also for the offices of the ruling TDP and the opposition parties.
Secondly, the government is also proposing to construct buildings for Andhra Pradesh High Court as well on temporary basis. Since the proposal to have a separate high court for AP is on cards, the government has to show some accommodation for the same.Since it will take a long time to construct a permanent high court as
No Political Plans for Nag and Samantha
There has been speculation that Nagarjuna and his daughter-in-law might join politics and contest the polls in the next general elections.Interestingly, it is being said that Nagarjuna will contest from one constituency in Andhra Pradesh and Samantha from Telangana.But sources close to Akkineni family have categorically denied that they have no such plans. Neither Nagarjuna nor Samantha will enter politics, at least not in 2019.
It is no secret that Nagarjuna is a close friend of YS Jagan and he maintains cordial relations with Jagan’s family members.Some years back, there was talk that Nagarjuna did contemplate joining politics on the invitation of late YS Rajasekhara Reddy.But now, Nagarjuna feels this is not the right time to contest.
On the other hand, Samantha is brand ambassador for Telangana handlooms. Her team has denied reports that she will be contesting for Secunderabad assembly constituency on TRS ticket.She will continue to be involved in social service and will promote handlooms, but no politics, her team insisted.

Chennai: Actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan, known for his rationalistic views, says he is not an enemy of Hindu religion.In his column in the Tamil weekly Ananda Vikatan, Kamal Haasan refuted charges that he was anti-Hindu.He wondered how he can be anti-Hindu when people at his home were devout Hindus.
“It is their chosen path. I am not an enemy of Hinduism. I look at Islam and Christianity in a similar way. I am not anybody’s enemy and I follow the same policy with my welfare club,” the veteran actor said.
Kamal Haasan, who will start his tour of Tamil Nadu on February 21, said he will interact with people so that there is a two-way exchange of views.
Taapsee Not A Romantic Person
Actress Taapsee Pannu, who awaits the release of her upcoming film “Dil Juunglee”, says unlike her character in the film, she is not a romantic person in real life.”I am not really a romantic person, though I am playing a character who is very romantic,” Taapsee told IANS over phone from Mumbai.
The “Pink” actress also said she finds it difficult to romance on-screen. “It is tough for me to do all those things on camera because I am not really like that at all. In fact, I am nowhere near to my character Koroli Nair in anyway whatsoever — be it in the way she dresses, speaks or the way she reacts,” she added.

Kavitha keen to play bigger role in state!
Telangana Rashtra Samithi MP from Nizamabad and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter Kalvakuntla Kavitha is said to be evincing interest in playing a bigger role in the state after 2019 elections.According to party sources, Kavitha is learnt to have conveyed to her father that she would like to come into the state politics, rather than being confined to Parliament where she had no recognition.
In the next elections, Kavitha might contest the assembly elections, whether it is from Jagitial or Nizamabad or even Siddipet.In case Kavitha prefers Siddipet which is a safer seat, the TRS president might ask his nephew and irrigation minister T Harish Rao to move to Lok Sabha. However, she feigned ignorance about the plan when media persons asked her the same.
