After playing a police officer in ‘Kshanam’, top TV anchor and host Anasuya Bharadwaj seems to have pocketed yet another meaty character.

Ansuya’s character from Mohan Babu’s upcoming film, ‘Gayatri’ has been just unveiled, she plays the role of an investigative reporter in the film. From the poster, it can be inferred that she plays a journalist who takes her profession seriously, works with passion and goes to any length to uncover the facts no matter how dangerous the scheme of things may be. Her ideology is – A Pen is more powerful than 1000 Guns.

Gayatri has Mohan Babu playing dual roles, both as hero and villain. Vishnu, Shriya and Nikhila Vimal will be seen in supporting roles.

It was Gulte that first broke the news last month that Rana Daggubati was in talks to star in the biopic of notorious dacoit, Tiger Nageswara Rao. The project has now been green lit and the regular shooting will commence next month.

The biopic deals with the life and times of Tiger Nageswara Rao, a ruthless robber from Stuartupuram village, belonging to Yerukala tribe, that was declared ‘criminal tribe’ by the British colonial rulers. Tiger turned to robberies in the 70s. Along with his accomplices, he has broken into various houses, shops and a couple of banks in Tirupathi, Kalahasti, Vizag and Hyderabad as well. After evading police many times, even from their custody, ‘Tiger’ was shot dead in 1987.

Despite its the story of a robber, Rana had no qualms in signing the biopic as he found the character of Tiger very challenging to portray. Noted producer Anil Sunkara will bankroll this film to be directed by Vamsi Krishna of “Kittu Unnadu Jagratha” fame.

The film will go on floors in February. More details about this exciting biopic will be revealed soon.

The makers of Balakrishna’s Jai Simha have erupted in the success celebrations. No doubt, this is the only Sankranthi winner at the Box Office. But if one compares it with Balayya’s 2017 Sankranthi release, Gautamiputra Satakarni, this is no where close.

In fact, Jai Simha is just half of Satakarni in terms of BO collections. This indicates that ‘Sankranthi Simham’ Balayya and KS Ravikumar combo has not delivered an upto-the-mark film.

While GPSK had got a world-wide theatrical share of over Rs 55 Crore, Jai Simha managed to get 27 Crore share only in ten days. That is, Jai Simha is only half of Satakarni. Although Jai Simha is still continuing its run in cinemas, it has almost come to its closure. Even if it gets some, it will be marginal. So, overall, Jai Simha is just half of what Satakarni achieved.

Importantly, Jai Simha managed to get only half of Satakarni even after the disaster result of Pawan Kalyan’s Agyaathavaasi. Had Agnyaathavaasi worked well, Jai Simha would had suffered more.

Any ways, it is time, Balayya should introspect instead of celebrating the success. From last Sankranthi to this Sankranthi, his market share has fallen by half!

In the recent times, we have seen several top actresses complaining about the pay disparity between male and female actors in the industry and demanding for an equal pay. Anushka Shetty however differs with her contemporaries as she feels that heroes genuinely deserve better pay than heroines.

When asked for her view on the ongoing pay disparity issue raised by many actresses, Anushka said that male actors deserve better pay because a lot of films ride on their shoulders and that they have a lot to lose when the films don’t work at box office. She reportedly suggested her contemporaries to ask for better roles, prove their mettle at box office and earn the deserved pay instead of fighting for same pay as male actors’.

Anushka’s view makes sense. As male actors carry most of the films on their shoulders, they are paid better in comparison to actresses. Furthermore, rarely a woman-centric film has earned as much a biggie featuring a star hero. Anushka conveyed the same. Will her contemporaries agree with her point?

In what could be called as the biggest clash of the year, now Allu Arjun’s Naa Peru Surya Naa Illu India is likely to get released on April 13th. The makers want to hold a press meet today afternoon to confirm the same. Apparently, Rajnikanth’s 2 Point O is aiming for a release on April 14th as per the earlier plans. Some say that Rajni hinted at the shifting of the release date to April 28th, and that is the reasons Naa Peru Surya makers are jumping into the vacancy.

Earlier both Bunny’s NPS and Mahesh Babu’s Bharat Anu Nenu announced that they are coming on April 28th, but internally the producers are heard reaching a conclusion that they will arrive with two weeks gap. But suddenly with Allu Arjun’s makers deciding that April 13th is their release date, is somewhat clueless to all.

Forget Bharat Anu Nenu, but the presence of Rajnikanth with a film that will be liked immensely by kids and families due to the concept of Robo, definitely this will be a rather risky move only. Though Telugu market expanded big time, even Rajnikanth and Shankar’s combination should not be underestimated. But if Bunny scores over 2 Point O, then surely it is going to be a history.
