Malayalam cinema’s legendary actor Mohanlal celebrated his birthday on May 21 by giving fans a special and heartfelt surprise—he officially announced his much-anticipated biography titled Mukharagam. The announcement was made through a video message, where the superstar shared his excitement about this personal milestone.

“Dear all, on this birthday of mine, I am delighted to share some wonderful news with you,” Mohanlal said. “My biography, Mukharagam, written by Bhanu Prakash and published by Mathrubhumi Books, is finally ready for release. The foreword has been penned by the beloved literary giant M.T. Vasudevan Nair.”

He further added that the book reflects on various stages of his acting journey, which now spans 47 illustrious years. “It is a work that has been in the dreams and minds of many, and now it’s turning into a reality,” he said. Work on Mukharagam began back in 2019, and the book is scheduled to hit shelves on Christmas Day 2025, coinciding symbolically with Mohanlal’s 47th year in cinema.

On the professional front, the iconic actor recently wrapped up filming for Hridayapoorvam, directed by celebrated filmmaker Sathyan Anthikad.

While he is a towering figure in Malayalam cinema, Mohanlal has also garnered a dedicated fan base among Telugu audiences.
