In yet another noble gesture, Power star Pawan Kalyan has launched ‘Mana Akkineni’, a book on the legendary thespian Akkineni Nageswara Rao. Director Trivikram Srinivas accompanied Pawan during the book launch event.

Penned by Sanjay Kishore, ‘Mana Akkineni’ is a photo-biography of Akkineni Nageswara Rao. It is now available on TeluguBooks.in at a price of Rs. 2,000.

After winning the hearts of Nandamuri fans with his presence at the launch event of Trivikram-NTR film, Pawan pleased Akkineni fans with this commendable act.

Even before we come to the terms with the objections raised over the GST dialogues in Vijay’s Mersal (Adhirindi), here is the latest shocker from the regional Censor Board against Vijay Antony’s Indrasena.

Apparently, the Censor Board has asked the producers to remove ‘GST’ term from its song. Except for a line on GST, the rest of the song is a regular commercial song that was shot with extensive graphics.

Despite this, the Censor Board apparently directed the producers to remove the word from the film.

The line from the song goes by this, “GST La Nuvve Vachi Entha Pani Chesthive’. That’s it. Now, the makers are planning to replace the word GST from the song with the word ‘EMI’ as they have no other option.

With too many regulations and restrictions from the Censor Board, filmmakers feel they are the soft targets. Produced by Krishna Reddy, the film is releasing in Telugu on November 30, while the original version too releasing in Tamil simultaneously.

Samantha, the fashionista of Tollywood has an interesting ‘fashion’ connection with Manushi Chillar, who has recently made India proud by winning the prestigious Miss World 2017 pageant, 17 years after Priyanka Chopra won the title in 2000.

The shimmering outfit Manushi wore during the final round of the Miss World pageant, was one of the best at the event. The outfit was designed by the famous designers duo Falguni and Shene, the same designers who had designed the outfits for Samantha during her wedding reception held in Hyderabad. After having a look at both the designs, one would find a striking similarity between the two dresses.

Fans are proud at finding out that Samantha’s fashion picks are on par with the Miss World.

In a shocking incident, a Tamil film producer committed suicide, and cited threats and harassment from a financier as the reason for his extreme step.

B. Ashok Kumar, who co-produced good number of films, mainly featuring actor-director Sasi Kumar, committed suicide last night at his residence in Chennai. In his suicide note, he accused a film financier based in Madhurai of pushing him to end his life.

Reports say that Kumar has been taking loans from this financier, who allegedly charges exorbitant interest. He claimed to have paid huge interest amount to the financier in the past seven years. The note claims that Kumar couldn’t withstand the never-ending threats from the financier, who has big connections in political and film circuit.

The Tamil film fraternity was shocked with the tragic incident. Actor Vishal, who, in the capacity of the President of Tamil film Producer’s Council, warned such greedy financiers against charging high interests.

Police have registered a case under Section 306 (abetment of suicide) against the financier, and if it was proved that he had been involved in usury, he could be booked under the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Charging Exorbitant Interest Act, 2003.

Bichagadu is not just a sleeper hit at the Box Office, the film has got a great reception – on par with its theatrical response – during its TV premiere. Considering this, his next film Indrasena has been acquired by the Sun network for a whopping Rs 5 Crore for both Telugu and Tamil versions.

Although 5 Crore for two versions isn’t so big, yet this is fancy amount for Vijay’s film. The theatrical rights of the Telugu version alone have already fetched another Rs 2.5 Crore. So, on on average, the entire Telugu version has done a pre-release business of Rs 5 Crore even before its release. This is pretty handsome deal for Vijay’s film.

Meanwhile, the film is all set to hit the screens this Friday (Nov 24) by Krishna Reddy of NKR Films. Considering that the trailer has mass appeal, the film is expected to open well. The film has to get a gross of Rs 4 Crore to achieve the break-even. Well, we have to wait and see how it would fare at the BO.

Once again it is going to be a huge raining of films at the box office this Friday as well. From Nara Rohit’s Balakrishnudu to his good friend Sri Vishnu’s Mental Madhilo, we have the likes of Devi Sri Prasad, Nepolean, Ippatlo Ramudila Seethala Evaruntarandi Babu, Jandhyala Raasina Prema Katha, and Sai Pallavi’s Hey Pillagadu, Lakshmi Rai’s Julie 2 hitting cinemas along with other films.

Cut to theatre sharing, definitely, the ones backed by big producers and distributors get more theatres than anyone. Here the scenario is when recent Nandi Awards got blamed for TDP supporters bagging awards, here TDP scion Chandrababu Naidu’s brother’s son Nara Rohit is unable to secure enough theatres for Balakrishnudu movie.

We hear that producer Suresh Babu is placing Mental Madhilo in may theatres as he has confidence that the film will emerge triumphantly. At the same time, many theatre owners are said to be showing interest in Sai Pallavi’s Hey Pillagada due to Fidaa effect and then Julie 2 for Lakshmi Rai’s glamor quotient.

For now, Balakrishnudu got only limited theatres despite Nara Rohit is the hero and his uncle is AP Chief Minister. Only if the talk emerges positive, then the film might find a number of screens. The film features Regina in another glamorous role while Prithvi looks like major asset with his comedy.
