Revanth Effect! New Party In Telangana?
Former Telangana TDP leader Revanth Reddy’s decision of joining the Congress party seems to have created tremors in both the parties. Feeling insecure of his presence, a few senior Telangana leaders of Congress are reportedly planning to come out of the national party and form a new party.
Former minister Komatireddy Venkata Reddy is said to be spearheading the dissented Congress party leaders. He has been long demanding for the removal of Uttamkumar Reddy from the post of PCC Chief but the High Command has ignored pleas. Now, with the joining of Revanth Reddy, and also amidst the speculations of Vijayashanthi to be given key responsibilities in the party, Komatireddy has reportedly summoned his trusted party members and discussed the idea of getting out of Congress.
Reports say that their new party will be named ‘Telangana Congress’. Komatireddy is of the opinion that the new party will establish their identity, and demonstrate their intent to the high command. He has reportedly promised to give party tickets to all the members who come out of Congress along with him.
It needs to be seen how Revanth Reddy and the Congress party tackle this issue.
Double Shock to Mehreen!
Just until a few days ago, Mehreen Pirzada was a hat-trick heroine. Now, in an unfortunate turn of events, she has received a double shock with a single film, C/o Surya.
Released simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil this Friday, C/o Surya, starring Sundeep Kishan and Mehreen in lead roles, received okayish word of mouth. Unfortunately, the collections weren’t that impressive. Sundeep’s flop streak and stiff competition at box office are being termed by trade analysts as the reasons for the film failing at box office in the Telugu states, making it Mehreen’s first commercial failure.
Coming to Tamil, the film has reportedly opened reasonably well. Many however complained about the not-so exciting love track. In order to make the film a crisp thriller, director Suseenthiran cut short the scenes involving Mehreen by 20 minutes, and the edited version is already in theatres now.
The new, crisp version is reportedly doing well but Mehreen’s role has become a sort of cameo in the film. So, she wouldn’t benefit much even if the film becomes a hit there. Mehreen’s hopes of creating a market for herself in Tamil with C/o Surya have all collapsed with the makers editing out her part almost entirely.
The film has turned out to be a twin blow for the beautiful actress in Telugu and Tamil for different reasons.
Thanks To BJP! Sharat Marar Saved 50 Lakhs
Except for C/o Surya, all other films like Okkadu Migiladu, Adhrindi and Detective released last Friday have indulged only in namesake promotions but nothing else. While Sandeep Kishan promoted his film big time, other films just arrived, with some tear wipe interviews and ads. But still, none worked out.
Currently, at Telugu box office, only Adhirndi is grabbing all the attention with many shows getting crowded even on Monday. Despite any promotional plan, only with a full-page ad given by Sharat Marar in some newspapers, this Telugu version of Mersal has hit screens. Neither Vijay nor Samantha, Kajal Agarwal or Nitya Menon promoted the movie. But still, it fetched 1.5+ crores share on the first day and continuing its good run.
We have to say that ruling Bharatiya Janata Party’s object for GST dialogues inside Mersal gave a huge coverage to the film in Telugu circles as well. Every day our newspapers covered stories of it, extensions of stories, and statements of various politicians and celebs on it. When the likes of Rahul Gandhi, Rajnikanth, and Kamal Haasan speak about Mersal, surely its big news for media and free promotion for the film.
Generally one has to spend around 50 lakhs to get good publicity including ads, tv interviews, paper coverage and taking part in special tv shows and events. But the efforts raked up by BJP help Telugu producer Sharat Marar save all of them.
Krishna Boat Accident: Everyone Is Irresponsible
The death toll in Krishna River boat capsize incident has risen to 21 with bodies being recovered yesterday too. So, who is the most irresponsible person anyway for this grave incident? Government officials? Politicians? Boat operator and driver? Or people? Frankly speaking, everyone involved in the incident is responsible for this unfortunate incident.
As the incident occurred, government lodged cases on boat operator and announced 10 lakh ex-gratia for the people. Rather than, the government should have made proper arrangements throughout the ferry ghats, by including a disaster relief expert swimmers team that could save people during such times.
Coming to bureaucrats, they should have properly inspected the permissions issued to the boat and the license of the operator. Also, this accident could have been averted easily if the inspecting official stopped the boat at the ferry, rather asking it to move to some other point.
Had the boat’s driver been little careful, he wouldn’t have hit the silt mound. Also rather swimming offshore and rushing into oblivion, he would have saved 10 lives easily by dragging people to shore.
And, when they don’t know swimming, how come people boarding the boat didn’t wear life jackets? They should have demanded them if the operator hasn’t provided one.
Lack of both awareness and ignorance are also big mistakes of people when it comes to boarding such boats, isn’t it?

After stepping into the Indian mainstream film industry, Sunny Leone has entertained fans with vastly varying appearances from slippin into bikinis to sporing elegant saris, gyrating in item sings to shedding all inhibitions in eroticas etc. But, for the first time, this ‘queen of seduction’ has turned into a man.
Sunny has posted a few pictures and a video of her transformation from herself to a man. This new look is for an upcoming film. Sunny said that her ‘man version’ is strikingly similar to the real life looks of her brother and father. It may be difficult for Sunny’s fans to see her as a man, but the sexy lady is quite excited at the opportunity of playing an opposite sex character.
NTR’s Film Shooting Not Allowed In Nimmakuru
While both Balakrishna Nandamuri and Ram Gopal Varma are yet to take their respective films on Sr NTR onto floors, another film on NTR, “Lakshmi’s Veeragrantham” is already making noise in the Telugu states.
To be produced and directed by senior filmmaker Kethireddy Jagadeeshwar Reddy, ‘Lakshmi’s Veeragrantham’ traces the story of Lakshmi Parvathi’s first husband, as well as NTR’s. The film was officially launched recently at NTR Ghat in Hyderabad. The police however stopped the unit from shooting the film there citing permission issue.
Jagadeshwar Reddy then planned to start the shooting at NTR’s native village, Nimmakuru in Krishna district of AP. On Monday, the crew reached the village and asked the Panchayat heads to allow them to shoot certain crucial scenes in the village. The village heads however refused to let the shooting happen there citing the film would bring bad name to NTR as well as their village. They even advised Reddy to abstain from making the film on NTR.
With no other option left, Reddy left the village after garlanding NTR’s bronze statue in the village.
Rana to Play Raja Marthanda Varma
Is macho hunk Rana Daggubati is on a periodic film signing spree? Looks so. We can’t blame him as he is being offered very interesting periodic projects ever since “Baahubali” happened for him.
Rana has just announced that he would be playing 18th century Travancore king Marthanda Varma. It will be another king’s role for him after the epic ‘Bhallala Deva’ in Baahubali. The film’s pre-production is currently in progress. It will be made as a Telugu-Malayalam bilingual, and will be dubbed in Tamil too.
It’s been a fantastic year for Rana, who is basking in the back-to-back success of Ghazi (underwater war drama – historical), Baahubali 2 (fantasy) and Nene Raju Nene Mantri. He is currently shooting for “1945” (pre-Independent war drama – historical), where he plays a soldier in Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s Indian National Army.
#ChaySam’s 40 Days Festivities Over!!
Tollywood’s top starlet Samantha always felt that she should retire while on the top and get married just when she touches 30. And as she always aspired, she did the same, walking the sacred seven steps with her beau Naga Chaitanya, she turned the ‘kodalu’ of Akkineni clan.
Ever since getting married twice to Naga Chaitanya on October 6th and 7th, the hottest couple of t-town is quite busy in their own way. After three days of non-stop partying in W Hotel, Goa, the Akkineni clan retired to their homes. Later Chay’s mother Lakshmi hosted a grand Daggubati-ish reception in Chennai, where the newlywed stunned everyone.
And that led to Samantha admiring her mother-in-law’s house and interior decoration skills as well. Later the couple has flown to London, United Kingdom and spent their time hopping the streets, living on food, visiting museums and spending time at coffee shops.
Later both Chay and Sam joined the shooting of their respective movies for a couple of movies. While the Akkineni boy kickstarted his next under Chandu Mondeti’s direction, Sam attended Rangasthalam song shoot. Also they celebrated their first-month anniversary with Chay surprisng Sam with a candle light dinner at home. But their marriage festivities are not yet over until they concluded it with a reception.
The much awaited and pending reception event happened in Hyderabad other day where the who’s who of Tollywood made their presence felt. While Sam’s Chennai friends and Tamil celebs aren’t seen around, Tollywood gave its attendance felt big time. And that marks the end of #ChaySam festivity after nearly 40 days.
Don’t Say Hello To MCA!!
On one side, Akkineni Nagarjuna has announced that whatever happy and sad times are over and they are moving to say #Hello from today. After the release of teaser probably today, they want to stick to the plan #HelloOnDec22nd. And that’s a concern now.
Apparently, Nani’s Middle Class Abbayi, aka MCA is also set for same date only. Already teaser of this film is released and it garnered immense attention. Even though if Akhil’s Hello teaser gets similar attention, distributors are now worried as to what may happen to the fate of both these films if they clash.
MCA is produced by Dil Raju and the mega movie maker will leave no stone unturned to get maximum attention for the film. At the same time with numerous theatres in hand, the release will also be bigger. Considering Raju’s golden luck this year and Nani’s terrific form at the box office, MCA is sure gonna hit the bullseye in the first week.
Cut to Hello, Nagarjuna also had upper hand at the box office when it comes to positioning his films. However, if Nani is there in the race, then surely that will eat away into first day and first-weekend revenues big time. For that reason, distributors are requesting both to not say, Hello to MCA!!
