Bollywood Should Learn from South Cinema
From the last few years, South cinema has started dominating Bollywood, which has been the face of Indian cinema for decades, and the superstars and top filmmakers working there show no qualms in admitting it. Akshay Kumar, one of the top leading men of Hindi cinema, has now said that Bollywood has a lot to learn from south cinema.
The “Khiladi” actor, who is making his South cinema debut with Rajinikanth’s “2.0′, speaking at the audio launch event of the film held the other day in Dubai, said, “I have done 130 Hindi films so far. 2.0 is my 131st film, and my first Tamil film. I got to learn at least something during the making of all those 130 Hindi films, but I was learning throughout the making of “2.0”. I had never imagined to work in such a rich, both financially and conceptually film.”
The National Award winning actor further said that Hindi filmmakers have a lot to learn from their South counterparts. “They work in unity and respect each other’s talent, we have to learn that. They are now taking Indian cinema to international standard, and Bollywood needs to draw inspiration from them,” he added.

RGV’s Satirical Video on Pawan
Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, who had irked Mega fans innumerable times with his lethal tweets against Mega family heroes, especially Pawan Kalyan and Chiranjeevi, sometime ago quit Twitter, and even apologized for targeting them. The controversial genius then got hyper active on Facebook and Instagram, and it seems he is back to his erstwhile ways to incite controversies.
Varma has recently shared a video, which mocks Pawan Kalyan, on his Facebook page. In the video, Pawan is seen uttering in a massive event that he had not abstained from eating for 11 days. It is a spoof video which mocks Pawan through reaction from various celebs, clips from films.
Sharing such a satirical video targeting Pawan may not go well with fans of Pawan, and the activists of Jana Sena party, especially at a time when the actor was gearing up to take an active plunge into politics. Well, that probably could be his precise intention.
Reasoning that Pawan Kalyan is a political ally of Chandrababu Naidu, some say that Varma’s action of targeting the former could have something to do with his impending “Lakshmi’s NTR”, where he is rumored to target the AP CM.

‘Nadendla Then, Revanth Reddy Now’
With Revanth Reddy set to join Congress, the attack about his exit from Telugu Desham have got going. L Ramana, president of Telugu Desham Party in Telangana, today said that Revanth’s exit won’t affect the party in state.Speaking to media, Ramana criticized Revanth’s leaving the party which gave him political birth and made star campaigner of the party.
Calling him an ‘opportunist’, Ramana criticized saying, “Revanth Reddy has been secretly working with Congress leaders and Rahul Gandhi since last six months.’ He further compared Mr. Reddy with Nadendla Bhaskar Rao, who pulled a coup with help of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in 1984. After that, Bhaskar Rao also became the Chief Minister of state – but remained only for 31 days.
“Even when Bhaskar Rao deceived NTR, Telugu Desham came to power with all force and we’ll repeat the same again. TDP will contest in all 119 constituencies in coming polls and we will try to hoist our party flag in the assembly segments. Only TRS and Congress are our leading opponents,” said Ramana by warning Revanth that he will not be able to see his growth in venom-filled Congress party.
Earlier on Saturday, Revanth Reddy met TDP supreme Chandrababu Naidu in Amaravati and submitted his resignation from the party. While walking out of Babu’s chamber, media asked Revanth to speak about conflict with other leaders of party in Telangana to which he replied: ‘I don’t want to waste my time. Who is Babu and Harikrishna in NTR’s biopic?
The biopic film on legendary actor and politician Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao has been in the discussions and debates from last few weeks. While Ram Gopal Varma announced it as Lakshmi’s ‘NTR’, actor Balakrishna has chosen the director’s former assistant Teja to make another biopic on his father.
The film, that will be directed by Teja, will focus on NTR’s rise to Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, based on the inputs from his close associates and family members- and it will have Balakrishna Nandamuri playing NTR’s role. The latest talk in the tinsel town is that senior actor Jagapathi Babu will be Nara Chandrababu Naidu and Nandamuri Kalyan Ram is likely to play Harikrishna’s role in the most-awaited film.
If it turns out to be true, this is going to be one of the most-notable opportunities for both Jagapathi Babu and Kalyan Ram. Jagapathi Babu, in the past, was in rumored to play KCR in a biopic on TRS chief. However, there’s no official confirmation on the news that is widespread in FilmNagar,
Director Teja, who recently came under the limelight with a political drama ‘Nene Raju Nene Manthri’, once described that making a biopic on NTR is a dream in his career. On other hand, maverick filmmaker RGV announced Lakshmi’s NTR, which he announced will show NTR’s travel after Lakshmi Parvathi entered his life.

Chandrababu’s Last Words with Revanth!
In Telangana, Revanth Reddy was TDP and TDP was Revanth until yesterday. The firebrand leader managed to make his own mark through his aggressive approach. However, in a turn of events, Revanth decided to quit TDP and join Congress in order to fight KCR.
Revanth had gone to Amaravati and met TDP chief, AP CM Chandrababu and convey his resignation, future course of action. That’s when an emotional yet interesting conversation took place between the both.
As per the onlookers, Revanth stood standstill seeing Chandrababu from close. Revanth has explained the situations in TDP in Telangana and later told his decision to leave the party. Revanth also told Chandrababu that he has no other option but to join Congress.
“I know that you’re dead-against to Congress. But due to unavoidable conditions, I’ve to join Congress,” Revanth told to Chandrababu.
Chandrababu asked Revanth, “Vellipothava?”
Teary-eyed Revanth got emotional and replied, “Yes sir. I’m leaving only after informing you. My respect on you always stays.”
As soon as Revanth finished his words, he left the place and boarded his car and then returned to Hyderabad while all the way Chandrababu remained silent.
When media questioned Revanth, he said, “I’ve told everything to Chandrababu. I’m always his man. Even I tell the same in New Delhi.” Replying to the allegations of TDP leaders from Telangana such as Mothkupalli and L. Ramana, Revanth looked unbothered. “I don’t want to waste my time. I don’t have any opinion on them now,” said Revanth. Revanth is now an ex TDP leader.
India Beats US In Smartphone Shipments
India, a growing digital nation, is a now expanding its massive market with record number of smartphone imports. Canalys, a leading marker analyst firm, has on Thursday reported the remarkable rise of smart phone shipments to India by titling it as ‘India overtakes US to become 2nd largest smartphone market’. The impressive third quarter figures of shipments reveal that India has surpassed US to become second largest smartphone hub in the world. China holds the top position.
The report says that India would have accomplished this feat much before, but Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s demonetization move in 2016 has delayed it. According to Canalys report, the leading phone makers like Samsung, Vivo, Xiomi, Oppo and Lenovo hold 75% of the market in India. While Samsung tops the race, Xiomi, Vivo, Oppo & Lenovo follows it. While Samsung shipped 9.4 million smartphones in the second quarter, Vivo has shipped 9.2 million mobiles in the same time.
Whereas United States have shipped a record 2.5 million phones and Apple’s iPhone is the major one from them. In Q3 2017, more than 900,000 devices were shipped from US to India.
Canalys analyst Rushabh Doshi said, ‘The Indian economy is proving very strong in the second half of 2017, now that the twin shocks of GST and demonetization are behind it. Reduced indirect taxes have added new equity to the market, with distributors and retailers able to serve areas beyond their home regions as inter-state operations become easier. As the infrastructure matures, consolidation in distribution is inevitable.’
