Nagarjuna and Samantha-starrer Raju Gari Gadhi 2 that released on Friday is going strong. The film is shining bright at box office putting a full stop to the run of all Dussehra movies.

Despite the Ohmkar directorial and PVP, Matinee joint production got divide-talk from critics on day one, the same isn’t visible at ticket windows because day two for RGG 2 has proved bigger than day one.

Beating all the odds, RGG 2 raked a share of 6.73 Crs in two days in Telugu states with a strong positive word of mouth spreading fast.

Unlike the first part which was high on comedy and horror, addition of Nagarjuna and Samantha made RGG 2 an emotional drive with ample fun in first half and heart touching, painful episodes shot on Amrutha aka Samantha connecting well with family audience.

Reports say this can be first time for a film in horror genre pulling family audience en-masse and piling massive numbers at box office. Surely a winner for Akkineni Samantha and Akkineni Nagarjuna.

In a recent interview, Pawan Kalyan’s ex-wife and the mother of his first two children, Renu Desai revealed an emotional incident when her daughter Aadhya pleaded God not to kill her.

‘Sometime ago, I was diagnosed with a serious ailment related to heart. I had to take medication for months to completely recover from that. Aadhya had witnessed my suffering and she was quite disturbed.

One day, when Aadhya returned from school, I was in deep sleep because of the powerful medicines I had taken. When I didn’t open my eyes on her repeated efforts to wake me, she started crying fearing that I died. When I finally woke up, I found her sobbing with bloated eyes..and she said, “Please mommy, don’t die, don’t leave me”

I couldn’t control tears looking her like that. I somehow gathered strength and promised her that I won’t die. I told her that I won’t leave her until I conduct her marriage and I even promised to look after her kids.

When I asked her to pray God not to take me away from her, she sat in the Pooja room with folded hands for hours, praying. It was a very emotional day for me,’ recollected Renu Desai.

Just days after marrying Naga Chaitanya and becoming a member of the Akkineni family, Samantha changed her Twitter handle to Samantha Akkineni. She even said in the promotional interviews of RGG2 that the responsibility on her shoulders doubled after she had become an Akkineni.

It seems that Sam is so excited about the newly acquired ‘Akkineni’ surname that she is even wearing nightgowns on which ‘Mrs. Akkineni’ is written. It is not clear whether it was a family custom or she specifically asked for the design. The lady has proudly posted her picture wearing the robe, likely from bedroom on social media to share her joy with her millions of followers.

Actor Sai Dharam Tej has thrown a grand birthday party to his close aides on Saturday night at a posh pub in the city. The party saw the full attendance of friends from the industry and outside industry.

Mega producer Allu Aravind was present and there till the end to bless Sai Dharam Tej. Another surprise guest at the party was Ravi Teja.

Director Shankar is a name that is synonymous to grandeur and larger than life ideas. As the maverick filmmaker is making his biggest film till date, 2.0, he seems to have decided to leave no stone unturned to promote it. Here are the details of the spectacular promotional events in store.

An official announcement has been made that the audio launch event of the Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar-starrer will be held at Burj Park in Dubai, which is just a stone’s throw away from Burj Khalifa, the tallest structure in the world, on 27 October. The entire team of ‘2.0’ will interact with media a day ahead, on 26 October at the Burj Al Arab Jumeirah, the world’s third tallest hotel.

Lyca Productions, which has invested around Rs 400 Cr on the film, is reportedly splurging Rs 12 Cr for the audio launch related arrangements, making the event a never before seen for an Indian film. AR Rahman will perform live at the event. The audio launch event will reportedly be streamed live with 360 degree viewing.

Later, the second big event of the film will be held in Hyderabad, where the film’s teaser will be unveiled. This event will reportedly be held at Shilpakala Vedika on 22 November. Rajinikanth, Shankar, Akshay Kumar, Amy Jackson and all the major team members are expected to grace this massive event.

The trailer launch of the film will be held in Chennai as the third and final huge event. The trailer launch date is not finalized yet, but makers are reportedly planning it on 12 December, coinciding with Rajinikanth’s birthday.

The makers are also in talks with Twitter, Facebook and Google for some unique social media promotions.
