Devara Sequel Set to Begin Filming Soon, Release Targeted for 2026

The first part of Devara made a solid impact at the box office, serving as a much-needed face-saving film for NTR after the monumental success of RRR. With the first part now behind us, discussions have already turned to the highly anticipated sequel, which was confirmed earlier.
Despite the success, there were some reservations about the second part. The first film did not come without its criticisms, with fans voicing concerns over certain aspects, such as the production design, which some felt lacked refinement. Additionally, the hook leading into the sequel was not as compelling as anticipated, raising questions about the film’s direction.
However, all these doubts seem to be fading now. The makers have expressed confidence about the sequel, with reports suggesting that script work is progressing rapidly. In fact, they are eyeing July to begin filming the sequel, signaling that NTR is also onboard and committed to bringing the next chapter to life. This swift progress indicates that the sequel is more than just a possibility—it’s actively moving forward.
Initially, many questioned if a sequel would even materialize, but the pace of the work now suggests that the project is in full swing. The makers are reportedly aiming for a release in the first half of 2026, depending on the shooting schedule. Further clarity on the timeline will emerge once production officially kicks off.
Lokesh Plans Mega Multi-Starrer with Rajini & Kamal

South Indian cinema recently witnessed a grand multi-starrer in the form of RRR, directed by the visionary S.S. Rajamouli. Featuring two powerhouse performers—NTR and Ram Charan—in the lead roles, the film turned out to be a phenomenal box office success and a cultural sensation.
Now, the industry is abuzz with reports of yet another massive multi-starrer in the making. This time, it’s from one of the most sought-after directors in South Indian cinema today—Lokesh Kanagaraj. In a recent media interaction, Lokesh confirmed that he is working on a high-stakes action drama that could potentially bring together two of the biggest icons in Indian cinema: Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth.
Lokesh revealed that he pitched an idea to both superstars—a gritty mafia-based story centered around two veteran dons who are nearing the end of their careers and are drawn into one final mission. The narrative would explore the intense conflict and complex relationship between these two larger-than-life characters. Both Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth have reportedly expressed interest in the concept.
Given Lokesh’s previous collaboration with Kamal Haasan in the blockbuster Vikram, and his ongoing project Coolie with Rajinikanth, he already has a strong working rapport with both legends. This positions him uniquely to helm a project of such magnitude.
If this ambitious collaboration materializes, it could mark a historic moment in Indian cinema—uniting two cinematic legends under one roof in a story driven by raw emotion, action, and drama. With Lokesh Kanagaraj at the helm, expectations will be sky-high.
Ram Pothineni’s Next Titled Andhra King Taluka

Talented and charismatic actor Ram Pothineni is currently immersed in the shoot of his next big project, directed by Mahesh Babu P. The film has been in production for some time, and the makers are gearing up for its release in the near future.
The latest buzz is that the film has been tentatively titled Andhra King Taluka. In this movie, Ram will be seen portraying a die-hard fan — or “taluka” — of a film star, a role essayed by Kannada superstar Upendra. The word “taluka,” which refers to a fiercely loyal supporter or follower, has recently gained traction in popular culture, especially after being associated with a new MLA from Pithapuram. This gives the film’s title an added edge and relevance.
The makers reportedly felt that Andhra King Taluka is the perfect fit for the story, which revolves around fan culture, emotional loyalty, and regional pride. Set in Andhra Pradesh, the film blends mass appeal with political and emotional undertones. Ram’s character is said to be intense and powerful, sure to strike a chord with both his fans and mass audience.
Backed by the prestigious Mythri Movie Makers banner, the film promises to be a full-on mass entertainer, combining action, drama, and sentiment. With a strong cast, a catchy title, and a story rooted in local culture, Andhra King Taluka is already generating solid buzz in film circles.
AP Govt Grants Property Tax Exemption to Active Soldiers

In a time when patriotism and national unity are running high amid the ongoing India-Pakistan situation, the Andhra Pradesh government has made a notable move to honor and support its soldiers.
Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan recently announced that the state government will now exempt active Indian Defence Forces personnel from paying property tax. This exemption applies to homes located within Gram Panchayat limits.
The decision, implemented by the Panchayat Raj Department based on a recommendation from the Director of Sainik Welfare, marks a meaningful step in recognizing the contributions of serving soldiers. Until now, such tax relief was limited to retired personnel or those serving in border areas. Going forward, all active duty members—regardless of their current posting—will be eligible.
The exemption is applicable to one house owned by the soldier or jointly owned with their spouse, provided they reside there.
This initiative reflects the Andhra Pradesh government’s deep respect and appreciation for the armed forces. It is a thoughtful, proactive policy aimed at strengthening the support system for soldiers and their families.
Samantha’s ‘Subham’ Success as Producer Despite Box Office Setback

After dominating Tollywood for over 15 years, actress Samantha has added another remarkable achievement to her career. Venturing into production, she launched her own production house, Tralala Moving Pictures, and backed the recently released Telugu horror-comedy, Subham.
Although Samantha produced the film on a modest budget, she made sure that Subham garnered attention well before its theatrical release last Friday. In addition to her role as a producer, Samantha also made a quirky cameo in the movie and actively promoted it through pre-release events and interviews.
Her efforts paid off, as the film garnered a positive reception from fans and audiences, thanks to its hilarious plot and a fresh, young cast. Despite these positive factors, the movie struggled to translate that into strong box office numbers. As of the opening weekend, Subham has grossed approximately Rs 5 crores worldwide.
However, despite its underwhelming box office performance, Subham has already proven to be a profitable venture for Samantha. The film has secured a Rs 1.50 crore deal for its satellite rights, and Samantha is reportedly negotiating a Rs 3 crore deal for its OTT rights. In the end, Subham may not have been a box office smash, but it’s still a win for Samantha the producer.
