Generally, if someone like Megastar Chiranjeevi or a Nagarjuna are celebrating a function in Hyderabad, we do see a barge of influential politicians, businessmen, and other people attend it along with celebrities. For a function of celebs with lesser fame and range, only film industry people might turn up.
But other day at the function hosted by senior TV anchor Udayabhanu, definitely the attendance has stunned everyone. While everyone knows that she enjoys a huge fan following among masses for her apparent hotness, none felt like even political and business circles have similar liking and respect for her.
At her party other day, a star hero like Balayya, a former star director like K Raghavendra and a top class businessman who has India-wide connections like T Subbirami Reddy have made their presence felt. In addition to them, reigning star director like Trivikram, popular celebrity manager Raja Ravindra and former heroine Jeevitha graced the event.
One wonders how come Udayabhanu enjoys such a huge clout among these influential people. We hear that while she’s the face of all this stardom, her husband who has shifted to real-estate business sometime back is the key behind this happening. But sources close to Udayabhanu laughed at those rumours and stated that everything is her own clout.
Udayabhanu was earlier rumoured to be contesting elections on TRS ticket but that plan was called off in the last minute. Also she maintains good relations with everyone and her event hosted in the name of kids is said to be a stepping stone into politics.
10 Cr Audio Event for 400 Crore Film
Known for making exceptionally large films with enormous amount of money, director Shankar has made a name for himself and with unique following, he is as popular as a star hero. Considering his successful track record, many producers in Kollywood are keen to fund his films, despite the fact that Shankar disappointed us with his previous flick Snehitudu (Nanban in Tamil) and I starring Vikram.
Usually, Shankar convinces his producers for an expensive song and an extravagant audio event. For I, the makers managed to bring Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzegger for audio event which costed a bomb. Yet again, for his upcoming film 2.0, Shankar convinced Lyca Productions for a 10-Crore event at Burj Khalifa in Dubai, UAE. So, for every new film, Shankar is not just growing his market but also the cost of promotions and audio events. For 400-Crore budget, 10 Crore audio event wouldn’t be a big deal for makers.
Come 27th October, Indian cinema will witness an historic audio event at the Burj Khalifa where music composer AR Rahman is going to perform live. All the expenses of invitees, including 2-way transportation and the stay at Burj Khalifa building, will be taken care by the makers. After an audio event in Dubai, Robot 2.0 will have a teaser launch in Hyderabad and trailer launch at Chennai in November and December respectively.
Considering the immense craze for Robot 2Point0, the event may certainly raise the expectations on the film and it’ll be a feast for Rajinikanth fans and audiences.

When Facebook unveiled the list of Most Followed Indian Celebrities on it, the list was logically expected to be topped by Bollywood stars. With relatively smaller reach, its almost impossible for any South actor to feature in the list. However, Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli and diva Kajal Aggarwal have surprised all with their stunning feats.
While Virat Kohli leads the Top 15 list with a follower count of 35.8 million, Kajal takes the 15th place with 23.2 million followers. She is the only South Indian actress to feature in the list. Although her roots are in North India, Kajal shot to fame with South films only. She did a couple of Bollywood films too, but only after becoming a star in South.
Salman Khan, Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra and Rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh occupy the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th spots respectively. Sachin Tendulkar, Singer Shreya Ghoshal, Amitabh Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit and ace comedian Kapil Sharma make it to the Top 10. Sonakshi Sinha, Akshay Kumar, Shahrukh Khan, AR Rahman and Kajal Agarwal (23.2 million followers) grab the 11 to 15 places in that order.
In comparison, Tollywood heroes lag far behind. Allu Arjun (12.5 million), Prabhas (9.3 million) and Mahesh Babu (4.9 million) are the Top 3 Most Followed Tollywood Stars on Facebook.
Devi Sri Prasad’s Music Indicates Flop And Hit?
As “Jai Lava Kusa” music album is not so impressive, people are pointing their guns at Devi Sri Prasad. Some people are adding that these days he’s giving flop-tunes for films with poor-content and they are showing some statistics too. Are they true?
In the recent times, DSP has given fantastic music for films like S/o Satyamurthy, Kumari 21F, Nannaku Prematho and Khaidi No 150. All those films are big hits no matter how the film critics nailed them. At the same time, he gave average music, we mean only 2-3 hit tunes in the album for movies like Srimanthudu, Nenu Sailaja, Nenu Local and Duvvada Jagannadham, and those movies also did well at box office. But movies like Shivam, Puli (Vijay’s film), Sardaar, Rarandoi Veduka Chuddam and Jaya Janaki Nayaka that are scored by DSP got albums that we couldn’t recollect even one song. No matter what are all those big claims producers make, these movies didn’t fare well, they say so.
People feel that DSP gives just one song in advance and after watching the footage from first and second schedules he gives other songs. “If the content is poor, then he will give some dull sounding tunes. However, if the content is stunning, his songs will be more catchy, and music album will be a hit” some commented.
This logic may not hold good because there are films that got sick music from DSP and then turned super hits at box office. Other than title song, can you remember any song from Srimanthudu? But the film is an industry-hit. No doubt, not even one song could be mouthed easily from Balayya’s Legend, but the film is a sensation. Except for a couple of songs, even Janatha Garage songs are also not catchy, but still, the film is the biggest hit in Jr NTR’s career.
It’s better to say if a movie has good content it will become a super hit. And we can’t blame Devi Sri Prasad’s music for failures, whether the music appeals to all or not. His upcoming Telugu albums include Nani’s MCA, Ram’s Vunnadhi Okkate Jindagi, Mahesh Babu’s Bharat Anu Nenu and Ram Charan’s Rangasthalam 1985.
Non-Baahubali Record Pre-release Business for JLK
Until 2-3 years ago, NTR was the only star hero who didn’t have a 50 Cr film. The pre-release business of his films was also not something his fans could boast of at that time. Considering that, who might have thought that his film would do non-Baahubali record pre-release business within three years.
The latest reports in distribution circles claim that NTR’s new release, ‘Jai Lava Kusa’ has done a pre-release business of Rs 112 Cr, which is the third highest after 2 Baahubali films when we take only Telugu version into account. SPYder has done more than 150 Cr business but it is a bilingual. Sardaar Gabbar Singh, Khaidi No.150, Katamarayudu and DJ fall in 100-110 Cr bracket.
Nizam is said to be a weak territory for Tarak as his films fare relatively poor here. However, the Nizam rights of JLK were acquired for 21+ Cr, the highest in his career. The distribution rights of the Telugu states alone fetched around 67 Cr, the total theatrical business is 86 Cr and the film’s pre-relase business jumps to 112 Cr when we add satellite, dubbing and audio rights.
Starting from Temper, NTR has reinvented himself and has won the love of class as well as mass audience. And, the staggering pre-release business of JLK is the cumulative effect of his hard work, story selection and the expanded market of Telugu cinema in the past 3 years.
The astonishing part of NTR’s achievement is that ‘Jai Lava Kusa’ is being sold on his name only. Director Bobby isn’t a big name and the film’s heroines don’t belong to top league either. Its unbelievable that JLK has done such record business despite it looks a regular mass entertainer, with ‘hero essaying 3 diverse roles’ being the most exciting part of it.

Yes, you read it right. Going by the buzz in film circles, Star Maa has approached Renu Desai to host a dance-based reality show, a programme that is being planned as a follow up to Bigg Boss. Several dance-based shows are currently being aired on different channels but this new show will be unique as it incorporates the ‘reality show’ concept. Renu hasn’t reportedly given her nod yet but Star Maa is confident of bringing her on board. It will be her debut show on TV if she jumps into the newly popular bandwagon of celebs turning hosts on TV.
Ever since falling in love with Pawan Kalyan on the sets of ‘Badri’, and marrying him later, Renu hasn’t been on seen on silver screen again. She has been staying in Pune with her children since her separation with Pawan. Out of her passion for cinema, she directed a Marathi film, which turned out to be a dud.

Trade: Dull Fight On Day 1
After delivering two back to back hits – Premam and Ra Randoi Veduka Chooddam, it was expected of Naga Chaitanya to amass record opening day numbers with his new release. Well, the opening day collections of his new film, ‘Yuddham Sharanam’ are truly shocking.
As per trade reports, YS collected a meager worldwide share of Rs 1.9 Cr on its opening day, which is very poor considering Naga Chaitanya’s image and his recent track record. The film somehow failed to generate pre-release buzz and was expected to rake in low collection, but not as low as these numbers.

Rajamouli’s Reviews Losing Interest!
The whole of Rajamouli family has carved out nation’s biggest and most applauded film, the Baahubali franchise, which is not just the highest grosser in India but also a big release when compared with other Bollywood biggies. But apart from Rajamouli’s directorial ventures, his family always loves to promote other films.
Film lovers these days are losing interest in Rajamouli’s reviews and revelations because they are not holding true when the films hit theatres. These days many films are getting hit talk much before Rajmouli tweets about them, and those films he tweeted about little early are turning damp squibs. From Patel SIR to Paisa Vasool, his praises didn’t stand worthy when it comes to the performance of those films at box office.
Not just Rajamouli, his family members like brother Keeravani, wife Rama and son Karthikeya are also appreciating films made by their good friend Sai Korrapati, but those movies are not working well. Most recently Rajamouli stated that as his wife praised the story of Yuddam Saranam movie, the film is going to become a blockbuster. Though he exuded tremendous confidence in the movie, the output is not such an interesting one. The film got negative talk all over with bad second half getting nailed by every film lover.
With Rajamouli and his family members’ words not turning true these days, people are commenting that the family is in need of a huge blockbuster among the films they promote. Who will end their struggle? We have to see!!
Kirik Girl For Nikhil
Kannada girl Samyukta Hegde has been roped in for Nikhil’s next which is Telugu remake of Kannada film Kirik Party. Samyukta, who played supportive role Arya in the original, is expected to repeat her role in the Telugu remake as well while Nikhil will be stepping into the shoes of Rakshit Shetty in this youthful entertainer.
It is learnt that a hunt for the female lead opposite Nikhil is on. A couple of names have been considered to reprise Rashmika’s role in the original.
Battled with a series of duds such as Lie, Andhagadu, Kittu Unnadu Jagratta, Run, Anil acquired the Telugu remake rights of Kirik Party and trying to recreate the magic. Newcomer Sharan, who assisted Sudheer Varma, is making his directorial debut with the film. The film’s shoot has begun.
