Already a horde of Telugu film celebs such as Sundeep Kishan, Lakshmi Manchu, Anil Sunkara, Navdeep, Kona Venkat, Shashank etc. have opened restaurants in Hyderabad, and joining them now is the hotshot director Surender Reddy.

A 16-year-old minor girl of Hyderabad was married to a 66-year-old Omani sheikh for 5 lakhs. The parents of the minor lodged a complaint against the Sheikh on Wednesday.
The parents alleged that the minor girl was fraudulently married to the elder man and was sent to Muscat.
The parents are pleading the cops to try every way possible to bring back their daughter soon.
The mother alleged that her sister-in-law Ghousia with her husband Sikander were involved in the offence. They held the nikaah at a hotel in Barkas area before Ramadan began.
Marrying off a girl contractually for money from an affluent man of Arab has been rampant in the city.
Star-Wars in Nandyal: Roja Targets Balayya
Responding to the comments made by Hindupur MLA and actor Balakrishna during his road show in Nandyal constituency yesterday, YSRCP Nagari MLA Roja said that he was an innocent person who was just reading the script given to him by CM Chandrababu Naidu.
Addressing a road show at Peddakottala in the by-poll bound Nandyal constituency, Roja accused Balakrishna of lacking political knowledge and merely following whatever Chandrababu tells him to do so.
Giving a counter to Balakrishna’s verbal attack on Silpa brothers, terming them as ‘defectors’ who cheated TDP, Roja questioned why Balayya doesn’t ask the 21 MLAs who had defected from YCP to the TDP to resign if he was so against defectors.
Later, during a face to face interview, when Roja was asked about Balakrishna asking votes from Nandyal people by showing the ‘development’ TDP had carried out, Roja quickly donned her satirical hat and pointed out, ‘Which development is he talking about? He has failed in providing even drinking water to the people of his Anantapur constituency’.
Taking further potshots at Balayya, Roja said, ‘People of Balayya’s constituency even lodged missing complaints against him in police stations for ignoring them after getting elected. He doesn’t respect Assembly also. He is busy with film shoots and barely attends Assembly sessions.’
Prabhas’ Pay for Saaho Higher than Rajini’s?
After ‘Baahubali’, Prabhas has become a national star. Hence, his fans and movie lovers will obviously be wondering if he has also become the highest paid actor, at least in South?
Prabhas’ immediate next film after Baahubali is Saaho. According to reports published in national media, the star hero is charging a whopping Rs 30 crore remuneration for this action adventure film. Besides, he may have a share in profits too.
With this, Prabhas has become the second highest paid South Indian star after Superstar Rajinikanth. Considering that Saaho is likely to do huge pre-release business, Prabhas will collect good moolah as part of his share and may even surpass Rajini in terms of total remuneration.
For comparison, Mahesh Babu was reportedly paid Rs 25-30 crore SPYder. Pawan Kalyan also charged similar amount for PK25. As per widely circulated reports, Pawan will get Rs 30-40 crore remuneration for his next film to be bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers.
Coming back to Saaho, bollywood actress Shraddha kapoor, who has been roped in to play the leading lady, has reportedly pocketed Rs 4 crore remuneration. Saaho is being produced by UV Creations with a budget of Rs 150 crore.
Tomorrow Release: Get Ready For Reverse Thrill
Last Friday, we saw three notable films clashing at box office. This week, there is only one notable film, ‘Anando Brahma’ hitting screens. How prosperous are the film’s chances at box office?
Anando Brahma is a horror comedy with a reverse subject, humans will be scaring the ghosts here. The most advantageous aspect of horror comedies is that they neither need stars nor a groundbreaking story. If the screenplay is engaging enough with ample comedy and sufficient scary moments, its enough for small budget films of this genre to turn money spinners at box office.
On promotions wise, makers have done a remarkable job. From unveiling interesting promos to roping in Prabhas for the pre-release event, they have done a great job of generating decent buzz.
Coming to competition at box office, Anando Brahma is the only notable release this Friday. Among last week’s releases, ‘Nene Raju Nene Manthri’ is the only film that is performing well so there will be sufficient theatres and not much competition. Having no successful horror comedy in a log time is another advantage.
An impressive job was done in terms of casting as well. Star comedians Vennela Kishore, Sreenivasa Reddy, Shakalaka Shankar, Thagubothu Ramesh and others are there to take care of fun department. Taapsee is at the centre to lead the proceedings.
On the downside, horror comedies tend to look monotonous and audiences are continually bombarded with films belonging to this genre, which rarely impress. Fortunately, Anando Brahma is dealing with the reverse subject of conventional horror comedies.
Lets see if Anando Brahma can leverage the buzz and live up to expectations.
No Entry for Media At Priyamani Wedding
Actress Priyamani is all set to walk down the aisle with her longtime boyfriend Mustufa Raj this month. The wedding date has been finalised and it will be on August 23rd. The Yama Donga actress confirmed the same. However, there is no entry for media and it is going to be strictly a private affair.
Priyamani has requested media to respect her wish and promised them of releasing her wedding pictures later.
It is learnt that the wedding will be a three-day affair, including a themed Mehendi and Sangeet, Cocktail party and reception.
National-Award winner (for Paruthiveeran film) Priyamani has done many films across South including Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada. She acted in Mani Ratnam’s Raavan and Ram Gopal Varma’s Rakta Charitra II that were also released in Hindi. She became quite popular to Hindi audiences with her special item song in Shah Rukh Khan’s Chennai Express where she shook her legs with SRK.
She got engaged to Mustufa on May 27, 2016 which was also a private affair. A year after the engagement, she is entering into wedlock on August 23.
Nandyal: No Public for Jagan’s Roadshow!
YS Jagan Mohan Reddy might have taken Nandyal by-election prestigious, but people of Nandyal have not taken him or his party seriously. Poor response for Jagan’s campaign says it all.
As part of his road show, Jagan was supposed to cover few important areas of Nandyal including Padmavathi Nagar and he was supposed to start the roadshow at 9.30 AM. But due to lack of public, Jagan had to wait till 11.30 AM to start the show. Reportedly, several groups of people were shifted from the neighbouring constituencies to Nandyal to ‘cover up’.
Until the gathering and shifting of public, Jagan had halted in the house of the owner of an educational institution. However, the partymen and workers of YSR Congress Party had waited for two long hours in the sun for their leader as well as for the public. Apparently, party workers expressed angst against Jagan over the long delay.
Initially, Jagan’s campaign has got good response. But it all drowned with his speech in the public meeting where he abused CM Chandrababu Naidu. Rather than his promises to people of Nandyal, Jagan focused his full attention on personal attack on Chandrababu. This has not gone well with Nandyal people.
Since Nandyal by-poll is touted as referendum to TDP’s 3-yr ruling, both TDP and YSRCP are keeping their fingers crossed. The election will be held on August 23 and counting of votes would be done on August 28. The result will be announced on the same day (Aug 28).
Amul Baby warns about Blue Whale
The Blue Whale Challenge has been in news from some time. The term “Blue Whale” comes from the phenomenon of beached whales, which is linked to suicide. After 17 teenagers of Russia committed suicide in the recent times, the impact started in our country too.
The challenges in the game had a massive impact and a Mumbai based teenager killed himself recently. Before the investigation revealed much news, several such cases have been registered across the country.
A Kerala teenager Manoj C Manu hanged himself recently and his parents suspect that it is because of the Blue Whale Challenge. When the Blue Whale Challenge has been trending all over, Amul stepped out with an interesting cartoon to make aware about it.
The cartoon reads ‘Swim away from this Whale’ and it comes with a tip ‘Try Yellow and not Blue’. Yellow Whale challenge is being formulated in many countries to combat Blue Whale challenge.
Sam doesn’t have Even 1 Day for Nag?
Ohmkar’s ‘Raju Gaari Gadhi’ was a decent hit so naturally there are high expectations on this film. The film received immense attention after Nag signed this film, and the curiosity of audiences went couple of notches higher after Samantha signed this horror comedy. Now, it is heard that Sam is giving a tough time to makers.
As per the latest reports, the film’s shooting is all but done. Makers need Samantha to allot just one day of time to wrap up her part and eventually the film. The busy bee however has reportedly put the entire unit including Nagarjuna in waiting mode by being unable to adjust even one day to shoot for this horror comedy.
Sam currently has half a dozen films on sets and she is busy jugging between Hyderabad and Chennai to complete her part in respective films. A couple of days ago, reports emerged that Sam had been troubling makers of her Tamil film starring Sivakarthikeyan by laying some unreasonable conditions.
Meanwhile, makers of ‘Raju Gaari Gadhi 2’ have already announced the film’s release date as October 13 so they are optimistic of completing the shoot by this month end and get busy with the post-production work to meet the scheduled release date. The film also stars Seerat Kapoor in a key role.
Pawan Missing Clarity on Janasena?
Pawan Kalyan’s ‘neutral’ stand over Nandyal by-poll has come as a major shocker including his own fans who have been expecting him to support Bhuma family with whom Pawan share close bond. This has yet again thrown light on Pawan and Janasena.
Besides this, what added more confusion is Pawan’s statement about ‘building’ his party. He reiterated that he needs ‘more’ time and his party would refrain from elections till it is ‘built’. Pawan once again stated that 2019 elections are target of Janasena.
Although Pawan didn’t has a cadre, he had clearly taken a stand in favour of TDP-BJP combo in 2014. Pawan need not have a cadre or organisational structure to take a stand. Also, his reason that Nandyal being just a ‘by-election’ is laugh evoking since Nandyal by-election has been touted as a semi-final for the 2019 finals.
While NTR had swept the elections within six months after starting his political party, Chiranjeevi too contested elections in 8 months after the launch of his political outfit (on Aug 26,2008). However, Pawan is ‘too slow’ in taking things forward since his first meeting of Janasena in March, 2014.
On one hand, Pawan has been taking ‘years’ of time to build his party, cadre, on other hand, his party has restricted the memberships district-wise. Perhaps, no other political party in the country have restricted the ‘memberships’. No doubt, one can not deny his commitment, dedication, yet what is Pawan is lagging is a clarity. Pawan needs a senior leader who can guide him and his party. Looks like, Pawan is caught in a dilemma and is adopting wait and watch policy and may want to take his next stand depending on the result of Nandyal by-poll.
Superstar’s Wife in Fresh Controversy
Superstar Rajinikanth’s wife Latha has landed in yet another controversy following a school that she runs in Chennai was shut down.
As per reports, the building’s landlord locked up the school alleging that he had not received rent upto Rs 2 crore from Latha Rajnikanth. As many as 300 students, who study in the Ashram Matriculation School, have been shifted to another campus as a result of the lockdown.
The school management on the other hand has denied the owner’s charges and asserted that it had decided to vacate the building because of the exorbitant rent being levied and also due to the owner’s exploitation of the situation.
It may be recalled that the school ran into trouble earlier in 2011 when a similar tussle broke out between the land owner and management. Some time later, rumors erupted that Latha Rajnikanth hasn’t paid the salaries of employees for several months.
Director Changes His Stand on Baahubali
Director Teja had made some shocking comments on Baahubali and director SS Rajamouli during the release of his last film Hora Hori. Stating that he had not watched Baahubali, Teja went onto the extent of saying that none of the persons he met said that Baahubali was ‘good’.
However, Teja has changed his stand completely during the release of his film Nene Raju Nene Mantri. Teja heaped praises on Rajamouli, Baahubali and said ‘hats off to Rajamouli’.
Talking about the CG work in NRNM, Teja said that he had struggled a lot to get four or five CG shots right and said now he realised how much effort Rajamouli had put to make a film like Baahubali. This is not all.
“One needs a great vision to shoot scenes keeping the CG in the mind. Without seeing anything, shooting something like it is not an ordinary task. Definitely, I can’t work like that. Hats off to Rajamouli,” Teja said in a TV interview.
Looks like, Teja’s collaboration with Baahubali star Rana seems to have had a great influence on the Jayam director. Moving on from this, Teja is now basking in the success of NRNM that is doing very well at the Box Office.
