Nokia 9: Android-Powered ‘Ultimate Flagship’ Phone To Rival Apple IPhone 8, Samsung Galaxy Note 8
HMD Global Oy is likely to unveil Nokia 8 as early as July 31 in Europe and leaked specifications have pegged it as a marquee phone. Now, a new report has contradicted the early rumours, as the company is said to announce an actual ultra-flagship dubbed Nokia 9.
Community blog Nokia Power User has claimed Nokia 9 will be the ‘Ultimate Flagship’ phone of HMD Global Oy for the year 2017, not Nokia 8 series.
Nokia 8 will take on OnePlus 5 and other affordable flagship phones in the market, the blog claimed, citing sources.
Though there is no word on actual launch date of Nokia 9(most likely to happen in late third quarter or early fourth quarter of this year), the flagship will go head-on against top-tier brands such as Samsung Galaxy S8 ( & also soon to be launched Note 8), upcoming Google Pixel 2 (& Pixel XL 2) and Apple’s anniversary mobile iPhone 8 series.
Nokia 9 is tipped to come with a near-zero bezel display having dual-curved screen cascading to the edge of the frame. It is said to boast of either 5.5-inch or 5.7-inch screen size having QHD (2K: 2560x1440p) resolution.
As per recently leaked images, the phone is expected to have additional 2.5D/3D glass shield on the front and also a layer of glass on the metal-clad shell on the back.
It is also said to come with IP68 water-and-dust-resistant technology, meaning device owners can take it out for a dip in the swimming pool (freshwater, not sea) and take pictures or make/answer calls for 30 minutes under up to five feet underwater.
As far as security is concerned, Nokia 9 is expected to have physical home button-cum-finger print scanner at the bottom of the display panel and also the front-camera is said to be paired with advanced sensors to work as Iris scanner.
HMD Global Oy, which has already confirmed its collaboration with Carl Zeiss for camera lens in its future Nokia phones, is expected to incorporate state-of-the-art imaging technology in the Nokia 9. Word on the street is the phone will have 13 MP dual-Llns primary camera with Carl-Zeiss optics on the back. On the front, it is said to have a standard 13MP snapper.
Under-the-hood, Nokia 9 is expected to have Snapdragon 835 octa-core, Qualcomm’s most powerful processor to date and come paired with 6GB/8GB RAM, 128GB internal storage and a 3,000+ mAh battery.
If rumours are to believed, Nokia 9, depending on the region of sale, will be released in three variants— TA-1004, TA-1012, TA-1052— having different LTE bands compatibility, while rest of the key specifications remain the same.
As far as the price is concerned, Nokia 9 will set you back by $699 (roughly €607/Rs. 45,030).

Diplomatic Channels ‘Unimpeded’ To Resolve Stand-Off, Says China
China said on Thursday that diplomatic channels with India remained “unimpeded” to discuss the military stand-off in Sikkim sector but reiterated that the withdrawal of the Indian troops from Doklam area is a “precondition” for any meaningful dialogue.
“Our diplomatic channel is unimpeded,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang told reporters, confirming talks between Indian and Chinese missions to resolve the standoff.
Mr. Lu, however, reiterated that “the withdrawal of the Indian border personnel is the precondition for any meaningful dialogue and communication between the two countries”.
In New Delhi, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said the matter can be resolved through talks.
“We are willing to talk, but both sides have to first take back their armies,” she told the Rajya Sabha.
The minister said the boundaries between India and China are yet to be finalised and the two countries will do that bilaterally through discussions, while the same between China and Bhutan too will be done through bilateral talks. She accused China of building roads using bulldozers and excavators, which has been protested by Bhutan in writing to China.
Chinese and Indian soldiers have been locked in a face-off for over a month after Indian troops stopped the Chinese army from constructing a road near the Doklam plateau, fearing it may allow China to cut India’s access to its northeastern states.
India has conveyed to China that the construction of the road would represent a significant change of status quo with serious security implications for New Delhi.
India and China share a 220-km-long border in Sikkim.
Mr. Lu claimed that the incident makes it clear that “Indian border personnel illegally trespassed into China’s territory.”
The standoff is expected to figure prominently during the visit of National Security Adviser Ajit Doval to Beijing for the meeting of NSAs from BRICS — Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa — countries from July 26—27.
Chinese officials say while there may not be a formal meeting between Doval and his Chinese counterpart Yang Jiechi, there can be informal talks between the two officials, who are also the Special Representatives of their countries for the border talks.
Both countries have so far held 19 rounds of talks.
Earlier this month, China had refused to acknowledge that Chinese President Xi Jinping even met Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the G20 Summit in Hamburg, Germany as the standoff continued.
India’s Ministry of External Affairs, however, the said that the two leaders met and discussed a “range of issues”.
Trump Regrets Hiring AG Jeff Sessions After Russia Probe Recusal
U.S. President Donald Trump said on Wednesday he never would have hired Attorney General Jeff Sessions if he had known the top law official would recuse himself from a probe into Russia’s alleged election meddling.
In an interview with the New York Times, the president also criticized Sessions’ confirmation testimony in the US senate, in which Sessions denied “communications with the Russians” despite at least two meetings with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak during the campaign.
“Jeff Sessions gave some bad answers,” the president told the Times.
“He gave some answers that were simple questions and should have been simple answers, but they weren’t.”
Sessions recused himself from overseeing the Russian probe in March after the Washington Post revealed the meetings with Kislyak.
But Trump said Sessions had acted unfairly in taking the job in the first place if he had felt in any way compromised.
“How do you take a job and then recuse yourself? If he would have recused himself before the job, I would have said, ‘Thanks, Jeff, but I’m not going to take you,'” Trump said.
“It’s extremely unfair — and that’s a mild word — to the president.”
In an appearance before the Senate Intelligence Committee in June, Sessions vehemently denied any collusion with Russia to tilt last year’s US election in Trump’s favor, branding the suggestion an “appalling and detestable lie.”
He also engaged in testy exchanges with several senators who pressed him for details on his discussions with Trump — which he refused to provide in the name of confidentiality.
The interview comes as Trump reaches the six-month mark of his presidency, and amid reports that a senate panel next week will grill three of the pivotal players in his 2016 presidential campaign — including his eldest son — over allegations of the campaign’s collusion with Russia.
‘Closely And Carefully’ Following India-China Standoff, Says US
The US is “closely and carefully” following the border standoff between India and China, the Trump administration said today, urging the two Asian countries to engage in direct dialogue to reduce the tension.
“This is a situation that we are following closely and carefully. I’d have to refer you to the governments of India and China for more information on that,” State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert told reporters.
She said Indian and China were talking on the issue.
“(And) they’re going to talk to one another,” she said, referring to the visit of India’s National Security Adviser Ajit K Doval to Beijing for a meeting of the NSAs from BRICS countries — Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa — on July 27-28.
“We would encourage them to engage in direct dialogue aimed at reducing tensions,” Ms. Nauert said.
India said on Thursday it was ready for talks with China but both sides first pull back their armies to end the tense standoff in the Sikkim sector, and called for a “peaceful resolution” of the border issues between the countries.
China responded that the diplomatic channels with India remained “unimpeded” but reiterated that the withdrawal of the Indian troops from Doklam area is a “precondition” for any meaningful dialogue.
Chinese and Indian soldiers have been locked in a face-off in Doklam area in the southernmost part of Tibet for over a month after Indian troops stopped the Chinese army from building a road, fearing it may allow China to cut India’s access to its northeastern states.
India has conveyed to China that the construction of the road would represent a significant change of status quo with serious security implications for New Delhi.
Sayyesha In Samantha’s Flat, Akhil Did It?

Gossips on Akhil and his first on-screen love interest, Sayyesha Saigal are have started making rounds in tinsel town, and the reason is Samantha.
Sayyesha in fact had to wait for a long time to get her second South film after the disaster of ‘Akhil’. Her dancing skills and performance in her recently released Tamil film ‘Vanamagan’ won her so many accolades that she is being predicted as the next big star of Tamil cinema. She is getting offers from Tollywood as well. In the wake of this new found craze, Sayyesha has recently moved to Hyderabad and rented a flat, which was rented by Samantha during her initial days in Tollywood.
Buzz in film circles is that Akhil has helped Sayyesha rent that flat as it proved lucky for Samantha. Time will only tell whether Sayyesha also goes on to become a top heroine like Samantha, meanwhile, gossips have started doing rounds with Akhil showing special interest on shaping up Sayyesha’s career.
However, those who have been following Akhil on social media, are aware that he has been in touch with Sayyesha ever since the happening of ‘Akhil’. He wishes and congratulates her whenever she bags a new film or does something worth notice. Helping her rent a flat in Hyderabad could be just another courteous act by Akhil as a friend.
Kamal Fans Trolled Bunny!

Allu Aravind, Allu Arjun, Ram Charan and Sachin Tendulkar, the co-owners of “Tamil Thalaivas”, one of the four franchises in the Pro Kabaddi League, attended the team’s jersey launch event on Thursday in Chennai. Pics from the event, especially of Charan and Bunny have gone viral for different reasons.
While Charan’s stylish bearded look has received high applause from every corner, Bunny’s alleged attitude has been heavily trolled. In the pics that have been wildly shared by active netizens, Bunny is seen sitting cross-legged on the stage. What grabbed the attention of everyone is, Charan and even legend Kamal Haasan are seen sitting right beside Bunny in normal positions.
Fans of Kamal Haasan vented their anger on Bunny for sitting in disrespectful manner beside such a legendary star. Kamal Haasan has been roped in as the brand ambassador of Tamil Thalaivas.
Bunny And Rajamouli’s Chemistry: Something Wrong?

From the moment Allu Arjun and Rajamouli turned up at Traffic Awareness Program other day to deliver some stunning lectures, there was a huge buzz in film circles. Some went on saying that Allu Arjun tried to impress the iconic director, while others stated that Rajamouli is showing attitude with his inertness at the venue. What is true?
Whether the above assumptions might be true or not, one thing we could say is that both Rajamouli and Allu Arjun didn’t appear quite pleased in each other’s company. When the Duvvada Jagannadham star started his speech, Rajamouli looked like as if he was lost in some other thoughts and worlds. And when Bunny stated that he’s pleased to share the stage with Rajamouli, it sounded artificial, say many cine lovers.
Also, Rajamouli praising Bunny for “I am Change” short film that was made a couple of years back sounded pretty uninteresting. He would have just messaged the hero on his personal number rather waiting for years to share his praise. At the same time, Bunny praising back Rajamouli’s Baahubali only after he gets praised for his short film sounded like another out-of-sync act, opined some fans.
Maybe it’s only people’s misunderstanding that led to observing this ‘chemistry’ in a negative way is what few feel. As rumours have erupted in the recent times that Allu Arvind is pressuring Rajamouli through producer DVV Danayya to cast his son Allu Arjun in the director’s upcoming film, maybe that led everyone to look this joint appearance of Rajamouli-Bunny in a negative way. Maybe!!
Controversial Heroine Targeted Again!

Currently, the jokes and realistic comments being made on Kangana Ranaut’s Nepotism comments are taking a new turn. Recently Kangana stated that Bollywood always picks relatives and friends than real talents (which is called Nepotism in a single word) and that invited wrath. After Karan Johar, Varun Dhawan and Saif Ali Khan made fun of ‘Nepotism’ by calling ‘Nepotism Rocks’ on IIFA stage, Varun issued an apology for his comments. But others are targeting Kangana now.
A co-writer of Kangana Ranaut’s “Simran” movie, Apurva Asrani, sparked a debate, saying, “Kangana hired hero brother as an additional writer for Simran. She hired her sister as manager & now promotes her brother. All guilty of #nepotism?”. Extending this dig further, a leading media in Bollywood accused that Kangana herself is promoting nepotism while teaching apostles to others.
Stunned by these accusations, Kangana’s sister Rangoli stated that her sister gave her work as a Manager only to divert her from the acid attack and depression she survived. Also, Rangoli added that their brother is a commercial pilot who’s working somewhere else but not being bought as a writer into films. “You are after your 5 mins fame which you don’t deserve so please calm down and Relax”, said Rangoli, directed at Apurva Asrani.
Well, this writer Apurva is surely trying to define nepotism in a new way, but most people agree with Kangana Ranaut’s definition of nepotism. While Bollywood outsiders get only one chance to prove, whether a hero or a heroine, insiders will get umpteen chances. Despite starting with 3-4 flop films, today we have Sonam Kapoor and Tusshar Kapoor, what example needed!!
