Drug Scam: KTR, Digvijay War on Twitter

Share

IT and Panchayat Raj Minister KT Ramarao has given a befitting reply to former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh and congress senior leader Digvijay Singh.

“Huge Drug Scam in Telangana. Influential friends of TRS heir apparent involved. Let’s see if they would be saved or prosecuted. Let’s see,” Digvijay tweeted. Responding to Digvijay’s tweet, KTR shot back, “You’ve completely lost it sir. Time to retire gracefully & do something worth your age. Glad that you’ve finally learnt to spell ‘Telangana’.”

Now this tweet war between KTR and Digvijay Singh is snowballing into major controversy between TRS and Congress. This is not first time, Digvijay has made such comments against Telangana government. Earlier Digvijay had took potshots against Telangana police and had received huge flak from TRS leaders for his comments.

KTR never minces his words when TRS or Telangana is at the receiving end. But the way this time he had lashed out at  a senior leader like Digvijay is becoming the hot debate.

John McCain Diagnosed With Brain Cancer; Trump, Obama Wish A Speedy Recovery

Share

US Senator John McCain, the Republican nominee in the 2008 presidential election, was on Wednesday diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer. The 80-year-old has had non-invasive melanomas removed at least three times.

On Friday, July 14, McCain underwent a procedure to remove a blood clot from above his left eye at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix. Subsequent tissue pathology revealed that a primary brain tumour known as a glioblastoma was associated with the blood clot.

Scanning done since the procedure (a minimally invasive craniotomy with an eyebrow incision) shows that the tissue of concern was completely resected by imaging criteria.

The Senator and his family are reviewing further treatment options with his Mayo Clinic care team. Treatment options may include a combination of chemotherapy and radiation. McCain’s doctors say he is recovering from his surgery ‘amazingly well’ and his underlying health is excellent.

“Senator McCain appreciates the outpouring of support he has received over the last few days. He is in good spirits as he continues to recover at home with his family in Arizona,” McCain’s office said a statement.

“He is grateful to the doctors and staff at Mayo Clinic for their outstanding care, and is confident that any future treatment will be effective. Further consultations with Senator McCain’s Mayo Clinic care team will indicate when he will return to the United States Senate,” the statement added.

McCain had retired from the US Navy as a captain in 1981 and moved to Arizona, where he entered politics. Elected to the US House of Representatives in 1982, McCain served two terms. He was first elected to the US Senate in 1986, winning re-election easily five times, most recently in 2016.

Anasuya’s ‘Wild’ Entry in Bigg Boss?

Is Top Anchor Anasuya going to enter the Bigg Boss house as a Wild Card entrant?

As many have anticipated, the ‘Unexciting’ participants have failed to sustain audiences’ interest on the much-hyped Bigg Boss show. As NTR won’t be present on the show on weekdays, it is said to be running with poor ratings. Buzz is that organizers are now mulling over sending a few more exciting and popular contestants inside the house to win back audience’ interest.

The name of Anasuya is strongly being considered as the first wild card entrant. Organizers are contemplating to rely on her popularity, natural oomph and verbosity that can mesmerize audiences to bring craze to the show. Although they are ready to pay whatever the amount she quotes, her prior TV commitments and the conditions to stay in the house for 70 days may discourage the busy anchor from taking up this opportunity. Discussions are currently being held.

Besides Anasuya, the organizers of Bigg Boss have prepared a long list of popular celebrities to send in as wild card entrants. The names of Manchu Lakshmi and Tejaswi Madivada are strongly heard. Until the organizers don’t bring popular names in the house, It will be all downhill for them, say reports.

China Blog Post Denounces War As Option To Resolve Doklam Crisis

Share

In sharp contrast to a spate of Chinese write-ups and web-postings exhorting Beijing to adopt a more muscular approach in Doklam, a widely circulating WeChat posting is denouncing war as an option to resolve the border crisis with India.

Posted in the WeChat blog, International military focus, on July 14, the detailed write-up is titled, “Important Inside story: How many people know the truth about Doklam conflict?” WeChat is a popular Chinese instant messaging website with an estimated 938 million users.

The article argues that China must avoid war, but insist on Indian troop withdrawal from Doklam by other means. The blog in Chinese addresses agitated netizens as its prime audience, on why war is not an option, despite finding fault with India for triggering the crisis in the Sikkim section of the China-India frontier.

The face-off between Indian and Chinese troops in the Doklam plateau began last month after Chinese troops tried to build a road through the area, which could threaten the Siliguri corridor — the narrow passage that links the north-east with the rest of India. The Chinese have insisted on Indian troop withdrawal from what it calls its “sovereign territory,” is a precondition for talks.

Without attributing it to either India’s boycott in China’s Belt and Road Forum or the Dalai Lama’s April visit to Arunachal Pradesh, the write-up highlights that the road construction in Doklam may have been started in response to India’s “petty actions”.

“We can look at the map and understand why India is so stirred because, the road built by China is an advance in terms of strategy, which can also be seen as a response to India’s petty actions previously.”

It adds: “This time the Chinese action is like a sharp knife intended to dismember north-east India. If China really started (a war), there is a possibility that it can sever ties between India and north-east India, and that is why India really crossed the border.”

Signalling Beijing’s end-game, the posting asserts that “China will settle everything,” once road construction has been completed.

The article points out that China is not prepared for a war in the area of the face-off, on account of several non-military and military factors.

It described India’s alleged cross border incursion in Doklam as “illegal entry” and not an “illegal invasion,” which has an altogether different implication under international law.

“To many people, illegal entry of people equals war because they cannot distinguish entry from invasion. They are two totally different notions. Illegal invasion is entering the border of another country by force and without permission of that country, but illegal entry is non-violent. It (the movement of Indian troops) can only be called border crossing. So far it looks like illegal border crossing, though the next level is unknown.”

The blog highlights India’s terrain advantage as well as superior fire power in the Yadong area of the Chumbi valley, which can become a battlefield in the standoff area.

“In Yadong we only have a border brigade and it is lightly equipped. But India has a military brigade that equals 13000 people. Not far there a mountain infantry division has been deployed. There are three sides including Sikkim and Bhutan that are controlled by India.” It adds that China has only three mountain brigades In Tibet, and not all can be deployed in the Yadong area, where maintenance of supply lines for frontline troops would be difficult. “Now we are not ready for war. We do not have enough military equipment and logistics backup in Yaodong. So we cannot start a war at will.”

The posting underscores that “many Chinese netizens” do not understand the situation and rush to embrace war. “They think it is easy to defeat Indians, to be contained. They do not understand the relations between countries, should only be backed by real power. The military power of China is in disadvantage in Yadong.” Instead of open-conflict, the article proposes that, as one of the options, China can enter a border section, where it has an advantage, and pitch the ball in India’s court. “For the first time India crossed the defined border and entered Chinese territory, for Doklam is clearly Chinese territory. So, in accordance with Chinese wisdom, we can find a border section where we have an advantage and enter their territory and see how they react.”

Hollywood to Remake a Flop Indian Film

Share

While Indian cinema has forever been known to have got ‘inspired’ from or ‘copied’ Hollywood films, rarely we have heard of Hollywood remaking an Indian film. Probably for the first time, we have come across reports of a top Hollywood studio planning to remake a Bollywood film. Interestingly, it is a flop film.

The film in news is Hrithik Roshan starrer ‘Kaabil’. The Hindi film’s director Sanjay Gupta has confirmed that they had been approached by 20th Century Fox for procuring the English remake rights. He added that discussions were in very premature stage.

Ironically, some critics pointed out that ‘Kaabil’ had drawn inspiration from Hollywood film, ‘Blind Fury’ (1989) and some plot elements from the Korean film, ‘Broken’ (2014). Hence, the news of a reputed Hollywood studio vying for the remake rights of Kaabil has surprised as much as it excited movie lovers.

Released in January this year, ‘Kaabil’ had a huge clash at box office with Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Raees’. Both films failed to live up to expectations, Kaablil was the bigger loser in comparison. Although the film received decent reviews, Kaabil somehow couldn’t convert that positive word of mouth into box office success.

Actor Allu Arjun, who was invited as the chief guest for an awareness session of Hyderabad Traffic Police, has made an inspiring speech much to applause of crowd. Speaking at the event, Allu Arjun said that there are only two ways to maintain road discipline – 1. Strict Rules 2. Self-Realization.

“Although we have strict rules and tough laws, it would be difficult to enforce them in a country like India with huge population unlike Singapore which has relatively low population and difficult for law-breakers to get away from the punishment. So, the only option for us is Self-Realisation. It should come within ourselves that we should obey traffic rules. I know, it is easy to say and difficult to say. Today, am going to tell you where I got inspired from. I’ll just tell it in three simple lines,” Allu Arjun said to large gathering in the auditorium.

Bunny went onto narrate a story of his own experience where he had hit a car with his own car at the age of 19. ” I was 19. My friend and I had an argument on a topic in a coffee shop. Due to a small misunderstanding, she got angry on me and left the place taking her car. I was chasing her to explain that she mistook me. It was raining and I was driving fast. That’s when my car had hit a car in the front.

I saw it before and applied brakes but my car skidded and touched the car in the front. A middle-aged man was driving the car who got off the car and he looked quite angry. I went to him and said that it was totally my mistake and sought apology. I told him that I was complete responsible and would bare the entire expenses of the damage. He calmed down. Then I saw a lady in the back who got tears in her eyes.

She was carrying. Her anger turned into tears. I said sorry. I thanked God that nothing bad happened. Whenever I place my hands on the steering of my vehicle, this story comes to my mind. I tell you myself that not just my life, but even the lives of others are in my hands and I should drive carefully,” Allu Arjun narrated the road accident he did in his life and how it changed him forever.

The Sarrainodu actor said that he would never go in wrong way although he need to take a U-turn to his best friend’s house that is in the lane next to his Street. He said he had not agreed to go in wrong way even when his friends in the car had told him to go during the nights. Allu Arjun’s message to Sabhya Samajam has been a great hit.

On parting note, he said, “If you risk others lives on roads, that is not heroism.” Ace director SS Rajamouli was also present to share his gyan to people and make them aware on road discipline.

Is Bharat Arun Really a Better Choice Than Zaheer Khan?

Share

When former India’s bowling spearhead Zaheer Khan was appointed as the Bowling Coach of Team India, cricket fans were jubilant. Well, the happiness hasn’t lasted for long as Indian team’s head coach Ravi Shastri has allegedly played a nasty game to sideline Zaheer and replace him with Bharat Arun as the new bowling coach.

Now, a comparison chart of what Zaheer and Arun have accomplished during their international careers as India’s bowlers is going viral on social media. You will be astonished to see how Arun was chosen over Zaheer.

Having played only 2 Tests and 4 ODIs, Arun picked 4 and 1 wickets respectively. In comparison, Zaheer has the experience of playing across all the cricket playing nations in 92 Tests (311 wickets) and 200 ODIs (282 wickets). Cricket lovers opine that even comparing the former with a legend like Zaheer s a disgrace for him.

The BCCI’s four-member panel has conveniently ignored the recommendation of the Cricket Advisory Committee comprising Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman that selected Zaheer Khan as the bowling coach.

After witnessing the fury of fans on social media, Ravi Shastri reportedly said that Zaheer may work as the ‘Bowling Consultant’ for Team India if he wishes.
