It has been quite some time since people heard about Telugu Desam Party floor leader in the Telangana assembly A Revanth Reddy.There was not a single day when Revanth did not hit the headlines with his pungent comments against the Telangana Rashtra Samithi government headed by K Chandrasekhar Rao.

But now, there is quite a bit silence in the Telangana TDP. Finally, it was revealed that Revanth has been touring the US on a fund-raising mission for the next elections.For the last few days, he has been gathering support from the Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) for the party.

Revanth Reddy told media in Dallas that he would be glad if all the Opposition parties come together along with the TDP to launch an offensive against the Telangana chief minister.He brushed aside the allegation that the TDP was an Andhra party.

“We shall prove in the next elections how strong we are. But, if the parties opposing the TRS in Telangnana, including the Congress, the YSR Congress and the BJP, join hands with the TDP, they can pull down the TRS government in next elections,” he said.

Lalu Yadav’s son Tejashwi Yadav attended a meeting of the Bihar cabinet today and later made it clear to reporters that he would not quit over charges of corruption from when he was “just a boy who hadn’t even sprouted a moonchh”.Yesterday, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar dropped broad hints that he expects Tejashwi, his deputy, to quit over corruption charges. That is not happening, Tejashwi told reporters after the cabinet meeting.

“When we got power, when I became a minister, I did nothing wrong. When I was 13-14, would I have done anything wrong? I didn’t have a post. I didn’t even have a moonchh then. I was a child,” Tejashwi told reporters.He attended the meeting along with his older brother and cabinet colleague Tej Pratap.

This was 28-year-old Tejashwi’s first meeting with Nitish Kumar since the Yadav family was raided last week by the CBI over charges that as Railways Minister, Lalu Yadav exploited his position to acquire three acres of land in Patna at cheaper rates. Tejashwi is also one of the owners of the land, where a mall is being built.

Mr Yadav has alleged that he is being subjected to political vendetta by the ruling BJP at the centre, and the corruption charges are false. He won support from the Congress and other opposition parties but Nitish Kumar’s silence on the charges was loudest.Yesterday, after a four-hour meeting of his party Janata Dal United, Mr Kumar signaled that the only way his alliance with Mr Yadav and the Congress, formed in 2015, would survive was if Tejashwi resigned.

“I shall not compromise with my principles. I am firm on my resolve of zero tolerance against corruption,” the Chief Minister told his party at his home in Patna.Later, the party’s spokesperson Neeraj Kumar said: “Those facing corruption charges should face the public and come clean on the corruption charges.”

Former minister and Kapu leader Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham on Wednesday declared that there was no question of taking any permission from the police or the government for his proposed “padayatra” scheduled to commence from July 26.
Mudragada told media that there was no need for taking any permission for a rally being taken for a public cause.

“I have taken up the padayatra following request from my people in 13 districts. Who is the government to give permission?” he asked.He asked the police authorities to produce evidences as to whether Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu had taken any permission for taking out his padayatra in 2013.

“Let them show evidences, then I will think of applying for permission,” he said.Questioning the reason behind Manjunatha commission calling Kapu leaders for discussions and taking applications from Kapus if they were not for the Kapu reservation, Mudragada said that Chandrababu should be ashamed for making false promises.

Claiming that the Chief Minister is belittling Kapu community, the Kapu leader said that Chandrababu is suppressing the rights of Kapus forcibly and filing false cases on them.“Let him arrest me or my 15 lakh supporters. But the agitation will continue,” he said.

Mudragada also challenged the government to come for a debate on the implementation of the pre-poll promises made by Naidu.
