Nag Condemns ‘Mass’ Rumors on Chaitu

Share

It is a huge surprise to see a star like Nagarjuna Akkineni responding to rumors ebing circulated on some websites.

Earlier, Nagarjuna took to Twitter to rebut the rumors of Sridevi’s younger daughter Khushi Kapoor having been approached to essay Akhil’s love interest in his new film. Now, the King has taken to Twitter again to rule out the reports of splurging Rs 12 crore to set up his son Naga Chaitanya’s film with ‘Mass’ director Byapati combo.

Rumors were spread recently that Nag went on to the extent of offering Rs 12 crore to Boyapati for directing Chaitu. Boyapati has the knack of giving mass image to the heroes who star in his films. Since Chaitu is yet to win Mass audiences, Nag was rumored to be hell bent on roping in Boyapati even if he had to splurge a sum as whopping as Rs 12 crore. Nag however soon jumped into action and vehemently ridiculed these rumors.

After scoring a hit with a romantic entertainer, ‘Ra Randoi Veduka Chooddam’, Chaitu will be next seen in rugged avatar in a thriller titled, ‘Yuddham Sharanam’.

Shocking Makeover of Superstar

Share

The first look motion poster of Malayalam Superstar Mohanlal’s new film “Odiyan” was unveiled on Monday, and it is sure to give goosebumps to movie lovers.

The motion poster shows Mohanlal in a much younger avatar. With a trendy hairdo and chiseled muscles, he looks a simpleton in a sleeveless shirt. His enigmatic smile, the haunting background score and his signature laughter at the end of the motion poster will leave audience on tenterhooks until the film’s release. Mohanlal’s unbelievable makeover looks to be the biggest USP of Odiyan. He looks at least 20 years younger.

In the film, he plays the character of Odiyan Manikkan, the last surviving member of an allegedly vicious tribal community in Kerala.  Set in the pre-electricity era and to be shot using 3D technology, Odiyan is said to be the most expensive film in the history of Malayalam cinema.

The movie will be directed by debutante VA Shrikumar Menon, who will also direct Mohanlal in Rs 1000 crore magnum opus, “The Mahabharata”. National Award winning scriptwriter Harikrishnan has written the script. ‘Baahubali’ fame Sabu Cyril is on board as production designer. Odiyan is expected to go on floors in the month of August.

Reddy’s Wheelchair Campaign Highlight In Nandyal by-poll

Share

The by-poll battle of Nandyal assembly constituency, which is left vacant after the sudden death of Bhuma Naga Reddy, is getting heated up as the date the polling is nearing.

Both TDP and YSRCP are going all out to claim victory in Nandyal and for Bhuma Akhila Priya, it’s become a very prestigious one she challenged to quit if TD party fails to emerge victorious in her father’s home turf. While Bhuma Brahmananda Reddy is contesting from TDP, YSRCP has pitched Shilpa Mohan Reddy opposite him.

In a bid to gain support for Brahmananda Reddy, son of Nagi Reddy’s elder brother Sekhar Reddy, Akhila Priya has launched a ‘Praja Ashirwada Yatra’ and campaigning for him.

On the other hand, what is catching everyone’s eye is the campaign of veteran leader and MP from Rayalaseema – SPY Reddy. After winning as YCP candidate in 2014 polls, he shifted his loyalties to TDP but Mr.Reddy fell severely sick and could not come out or even walk. But, the senior leader has directly hit the roads on his wheelchair to campaign for Brahmananda Reddy. All thanks to CM Chandrababu Naidu, who had built the coordination well among the local TDP leaders.

Irrespective of politics, SPY Reddy carry a good amount of craze among people for his philanthropic activities over the years- needless to tell that ‘1Rs/Roti’ scheme was one of his activities that fetched him huge popularity in Rayalaseema.

And it now remains to be seen how SPY Reddy’s ‘wheelchair campaign’ will help TDP in this by-election.

Frustration Makes Cine Seniors Talk Shit

Share

In one sentence if we have to rate some seniors, some out-of-form celebrities and some other technicians, we have to say, “Frustration is making them talk shit”. Some of the interviews of these celebs that are doing rounds on YouTube give a perfect explanation of this statement.

Recently a choreographer named Rakesh, who has worked with yesteryear choreographer Mukku Raju and later became a name for himself, has given an interview to a YouTube channel. In that interview, he blasted Krishna Vamsi and then even made fun of his own disciples like Satya and Sekhar who are now big names among Tollywood choreographers.

Rakesh said, “Both Satya and Sekhar used to be my disciples. They used to wash my underwears and keep them ready at our Borabanda house. Sekhar even used to massage my legs, he does that great”. Will any guru talk about things like washing Underwear and Massages??

Currently, Sekhar is happening choreographer with even the likes of Megastar Chiranjeevi dancing to his moves. What makes a guru like Rakesh talk such shit about his sishyas, who are now stars? Definitely, it’s the frustration that these disciples are enjoying more fame and stardom than him.

In the 90s and 2000s, dance masters may never get noticed outside the film industry. But with the advent of many TV channels, social media and vast coverage of film stuff, these choreographers are sure enjoying cult status. Maybe people like Rakesh should understand the trend and keep silent, such that their seniority will have some respect.

What If @ Pawan, Prabhas, NTR, Bunny, Babu

Share

Film industry is all about probability and consequences. And sometimes, a decision taken by some actor might favour him sometimes and backlash sometimes. But a decision is to be made and that’s what keeps anyone moving. People seldom think, “What If” an actor didn’t do this way, that way or some other way. Here are some interesting What Ifs.

What if Prabhas is not Baahubali?

Definitely any other hero with bulk framework would have turned apt for the role, with the fact that Rajamouli is in the director’s chair. But if it is a hero from Mega family or Nandamuri family, fans would have made that hero a No.1 of Tollywood by now with their immense writings on social media. And such biggest fan-bases are not in Prabhas kitty all these days, not anymore. #PrabhasIsBaahubali

What if Bunny avoided Cheppanu Brother?

Allu Arjun triggered a huge storm with #CheppanuBrother incident. He would have simply ignored and avoided saying that line to directly blast Pawan Kalyan fans. Despite getting negative talk for DJ, the film made amazing collections and the support from all other bitter Mega fans would have given more. This is just an assumption anyway. #CheppanuBrother

What if Jr.NTR is close to TDP?

No matter how many times Jr NTR or his brother Kalyan Ram claims about their ‘absolutely no issue’ with Baabai Balayya, everyone believes that there is some sort of friction. And with Jr NTR distancing from Telugudesam party (which is visible of course), Nandamuri fans got split into two for sure. In case if he’s close to all the cadres and has the support of Nandamuri fans collectively, hit range of his films would have been different. #NandamuriHero

What if Pawan Kalyan followed Chiru?

Needless to say, Pawan Kalyan got a new stardom because of his silence post the Praja Rajyam debacle rather following his brother blindly into the Congress party. In case if he has followed Chiranjeevi in that political journey, definitely this newfound ‘honest’ star status will not have adored him. And that would be reflected in the box office collections of his films as well. Isn’t it? #PawanJanaSena

What if Jagapathi Babu didn’t change?

Some senior heroes stick around to hero roles no matter what their present market status. Without making such mistake, Jagapathi Babu donned a salt and pepper look and turned to villainy. That gave him more film, new identity, crores of rupees remuneration and a permanent place in hall-of-fame. If he didn’t change, then surely he would have faded by now leaving no footmarks in Tollywood. #PatelSir

Drug Racket Targets Students Of Hyd International Schools

Share

A Special Task Force (STF) of the Telangana Excise department and prohibition department busted a narcotic drug gang and arrested three persons for selling drugs on Saturday night. The STF seized substantial quantity of drugs worth Rs 30 lakhs from them. The gang is said to have been targeting corporate schools and multi-national companies (MNCs).

Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, the authorities said that they had arrested Kelvin Masra, a small-time musician, Abdul Bahad (20) and Abdul Quddus (20), and seized 3,000 units of LSD and 35 gm of MDMA. The selling price of these drugs could be higher than Rs 30 lakhs, officials said. This has been said as the biggest drug bust in the city in recent times.

He added that this drug racket targeted corporate and international schools in the twin cities where the children of celebrities and politicians study. A 9th class student and many more teenage students were found to be their alleged customers. A prominent film producer and employees of MNCs were also buying drugs from this drug racket.

LSD is sold in tablets or in liquid form, and is said to be one of the most potent narcotic drugs. MDMA, commonly known as ‘Molly’ or ‘Ecstasy’, is extensively used in parties, Excise officials said. The accused have reportedly been importing drugs from Chicago, US and selling in Hyderabad.

How Baahubali Helped Magadheera To Set All Time record

Share

Just like ‘Baahubali’, ace director Rajamouli had carved a masterpiece called ‘Magadheera’, a decade ago, which wiped out almost all the existing records. Now, the Ram Charan starrer has added another feather to its highly decorated cap.

The Hindi dubbed version of Magadheera has become the first Hindi dubbed South Indian film to cross 100 million views on Youtube. The new milestone scaled by Magadheera can be attributed largely to Rajamouli and his latest visual wonder, Baahubali.

Post the worldwide success of Baahubali, North Indian movie lovers have started searching for Rajamouli’s previous movies, and hence the surge in Magadheera’s Youtube views. Besides Baahubali, recently released Hindi film, ‘Raabta’ has also helped Magadheera partly. Since Raabta has been widely publicized as the unauthorized remake of ‘Magadheera’, North people showed interest in watching the original film.

All in all, a Telugu film – Magadheera scaling this phenomenal record on Youtube is truly a proud moment for Telugu film lovers. Post Baahubali, film lovers across the nation are looking at Tollwood with awe and respect.

Samsung Galaxy Note FE confirmed to debut next week; here’s all you need to know about Galaxy Note7

Share

The long rumoured Samsung Galaxy Note7 (reboot) aka Galaxy Note FE (Fan Edition) will break covers on July 7, the South Korean smartphone-maker confirmed.

The news comes just a day after local network carrier LG Uplus unintentionally released details about the pre-order date of the Galaxy Note FE on its official Facebook page. It said the company is expected to accept orders for the new Samsung phablet from July 1 to July 6. However, the company later took down the poster from its website.

Now, Samsung itself has officially confirmed that the Galaxy Note7 will make a comeback, but in a new avatar dubbed as the Galaxy Note Fan Edition in South Korea first on July 7.

“The latest launch of the Galaxy Note FE… has a significant meaning as an environment-friendly project that minimised the waste of resources,” Samsung said in a statement.

There is no official word on whether Samsung will launch the Galaxy Note FE outside South Korea, but it is expected to be released in China, India and a few other select regions in Asia.

Samsung, earlier in the year, confirmed that the company intends to use the spare components of the discarded Galaxy Note7 to make new phones and also for testing purposes. Further, in a bid to reduce the damage to the environment due to the scrapped Galaxy Note 7 units, which is close to 4.3 million, Samsung decided not to waste the components (except battery) and sell them in refurbished form, provided the local government regulatory body gave clearance to the revamped Galaxy Note7 model.

Samsung Galaxy Note FE: All you need to know

The Galaxy Note FE will be priced around 699,000 KRW (approx. $611/€534/Rs. 39,465) – almost 30 percent less than the original model’s launch price of 989,900 KRW (roughly $877/€804/Rs. 56,235).

As far as specification is concerned, the new Galaxy Note FE is said to come with smaller battery 3,200mAh, 200mAh less than the ill-fated Galaxy Note7. But the other features will remain the same.

The new Galaxy Note FE is expected to sport a 5.7-inch QHD (2K)-based dual-edge curved screen with stylus slot at the bottom right corner.

Inside, it is expected to house Samsung’s proprietary Exynos (most probably 8890) CPU, 4GB RAM, 12MP dual-pixel primary camera, 5MP front camera and a 3,200mAh cell with fast wireless charging technology.

‘Kaththi Reddy’ – Eththithe Dinchadu

Share

We have seen Indra Sena Reddy, Chennakesava Reddy, Aadi Kesava Reddy etc. entertaining us with powerful action. For a change, brace up for ‘Kaththi Reddy’, who is going to tickle the bunny bones of audience.

Comedy King Brahmanandam, whose stardom has diminished in the last few years because of the onslaught of new age comedians, is reportedly trying his luck with a comic caper titled ‘Kaththi Reddy’. The film has ‘Eththithe Dinchadu’ as the tag line.

Brahmi’s attempts in the recent times as lead hero, including the much hyped Vennela Kishore directorial, ‘Jaffa’ failed miserably to entertain audiences. Will ‘Kaththi Reddy’ be a different attempt? At a time when Brahmi’s comedy has been written off as monotonous, making a film with him in lead role is nevertheless a daring attempt.

The comedy film will also have ‘Jabardasth’ fame Raccha Ravi in a key role.

China condemns US warship near South China Sea island as ‘serious provocation’

Share

China has scrambled naval ships and military jets to “warn off” a US missile destroyer sailing close to an artificial island built by it in the disputed South China Sea and denounced Washington’s move as a “serious political and military provocation”.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lu Kang said in a statement late last night that China had dispatched military vessels and fighter planes in response to warn off the US vessel.

On Sunday, the missile destroyer USS Stethem “trespassed China’s territorial waters off the Xisha Islands”, state run Xinhua news agency reported.

The US behaviour constitutes a serious political and military provocation, Mr. Lu said, stressing that the Chinese side is strongly dissatisfied with and firmly opposed it.

Stethem passed less than 22 km from tiny Triton Island in the Paracel Islands archipelago, which China calls Xisha islands. The island chain is also claimed by Taiwan and Vietnam.

While China claims sovereignty over almost all of the South China Sea, the other countries to partially counterclaim over the area are Vietnam, Philippines, Malaysia, Brunei and Taiwan.

This is the second US naval ship to have passed the disputed islands after President Donald Trump came to power.

The US has been periodically sending the naval ships and planes to the South China Sea to assert freedom of navigation challenging China’s claims of sovereignty.

China comes out with similar reaction every time the US naval ships pass through the area.

Mr. Lu said the Islands are an inherent part of the Chinese territory, noting that in accordance with the Law of China on the Territorial Sea and the Contiguous Zone, the Chinese government promulgated the baseline of the territorial sea off the Xisha Islands in 1996

“The relevant Chinese law has explicit provisions on foreign military vessels’ entry into the territorial sea of China,” Mr. Lu said.

Under the pretext of “navigation freedom,” the US once again sent a military vessel into China’s territorial waters off the Xisha Islands without China’s approval, Mr. Lu said.

He said the behaviour of US has violated the Chinese law and relevant international law, infringed upon China’s sovereignty, disrupted peace, security and order of the relevant waters and put in jeopardy the facilities and personnel on the Chinese islands.

China says there are problems for international navigation through the SCS but objects to defence vessels going through it.

Working together, China and ASEAN member states have cooled down and improved the situation in the South China Sea Lu said charging US of deliberately stirring up troubles in the South China Sea. The US is running in the opposite direction from countries in the region who aspire for stability, cooperation and development, he said

“The Chinese side strongly urges the US side to immediately stop such kind of provocative operations that violate China’s sovereignty and threaten its security,” he stressed, saying the Chinese side will continue to take all necessary means to defend national sovereignty and security.

The US missile destroyer sailing close to the contentious island chain is the latest in a series of events that add to the growing unease in the relations between the two countries.

Last week Mr. Trump authorised a new arms sale to Taiwan, which China considers a rebel province, besides slapping sanctions on a Chinese bank accused of laundering North Korean cash.

Qatar crisis: Arab nations extend deadline to accept demands by 48 hours

Share

Arab nations extended a deadline early on Monday for Qatar to respond to their list of demands in a diplomatic crisis roiling the Gulf, saying Kuwait’s emir requested the delay as part of his efforts to mediate the dispute.

Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and Bahrain cut off ties with 2022 FIFA World Cup host Qatar on June 5, restricting access to their airspace and ports and sealing Qatar’s only land border, which it shares with Saudi Arabia.

They issued a 13-point list of demands to end the standoff June 22 and gave the natural gas-rich country 10 days to comply.

The joint statement by the Arab nations said they expected Qatar to respond to their demands on Monday. The new deadline would expire late Tuesday or early Wednesday.

“The response of the four states will then be sent following the study of the Qatari government’s response and assessment of its response to the whole demands,” the statement said.

The four nations cut ties to Qatar over allegations it supports extremists and over worries it maintains too-close ties to Shia power Iran. Qatar for long has denied sponsoring militants and maintains ties to Iran as it shares a massive offshore natural gas field with the country.

“Qatar is not an easy country to be swallowed by anyone. We are ready. We stand ready to defend our country. I hope that we don’t come to a stage where, you know, a military intervention is made,” Qatari Defence Minister Khalid bin Mohammed al-Attiyah told Sky News.

Qatar’s main QE stock index lost more than 3% when it reopened on July 2, following a weeklong hiatus for the Eid al-Fitr holiday break its first session since the demands were laid out. It eventually recovered some of its losses later in the trading session to close down 2.3% at 8,822.15.

Qatari supermarkets saw panic buying when the four countries initially cut ties. But the capital, Doha, was largely calm on Sunday as residents waited to see how the crisis would play out.

Abdelaziz al-Yafaei, a Qatari out for an evening walk along the city’s bayside, said he was reassured that things would be fine, regardless of what happens over the course of the next days.

“We have a government, thank God, that is wise and knows how to provide for all of our needs, how to maintain security,” he said. “We have enough funds in the country, on the economic side. All of the affairs are headed for the better.”

Qatar’s foreign minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, showed no signs of backing down in during a press briefing in Rome on Saturday, saying they were never meant to be accepted and that his country “is prepared to face whatever consequences.”

While in Rome, Mr. Al Thani met with Italian Foreign Minister Angelino Alfano, who gave his backing to ongoing mediation efforts led by Kuwait. U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has also tried to resolve the dispute, with the U.S. last week urging Saudi Arabia and its allies to stay “open to negotiation” with Qatar.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has separately spoken with the leaders of Qatar and Bahrain, urging direct dialogue among all the states involved, according to statements released by the Kremlin on Saturday.
