More than her designer attire, ethnic jewellery and stylish hair style, her slim looks are drawing attention. Just the other day, she attended an award event in Chennai and her looks were nowhere close to the look in this picture. Either the shoot was done long ago or the picture is heavily photo-shopped, the second could be the most probably reason.

Last night, speaking at the audio release of his upcoming film ‘DJ’, Bunny said that he had started his career with ‘Arya’, which in fact is his second film. It is very rare for an actor to forget his debut film but Bunny looks to have conveniently ignored Gangothri. Over the years, he has rarely talked about that film.

Allu Arjun has evolved a lot over the years in terms of looks as well as style compared to his look in ‘Gangothri’. He may not be proud of his looks and the character he had essayed (he even featured in lady getup in a song) in Gangothri. Taking the negative feedback seriously, he underwent a remarkable transformation for his second film ‘Arya’, which has become a cult film.

Hence, Bunny may feel he has a justifiable reason not to talk about Gangothri and emphasize Arys on stage but netizens aren’t pleased, which is evident from the satires on him on social media.

Bunny’s fans however say it was just a slip of the tongue and that Bunny did not intentionally ignore Gangothri. If that was the case, why Bunny said that ‘Mirapakay’ was the debut film of director Harish Shankar, where ‘Shock’ (a huge flop) was first directorial, in reality, question neutral movie buffs.

Akshay Kumar, the Bollywood star hero who dared to act in a film revolving around ‘Toilet’ concept, is reportedly inclining towards joining BJP and thus foray into active politics.

Of late, Akhay has been doing a lot of films that either talks about patriotism or raise issues in the society. His upcoming film ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’ is dedicated to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Swachh Bharat” Campaign. Last month, Akshay personally met Modi, discussed the film and also got assurance from the PM of granting tax exemption for ‘Toilet’ film in most states.

Akshay has also been making efforts to get in good books of BJP’s parent organization, RSS. A few months ago, he endorsed the RSS-initiated programme, ‘Shiv Shakti Sangh’. He is funding some programmes of RSS and is providing drought relief funds to farmers of Maharashtra. He has also started a website named ‘Bharat Ke Veer’ to raise funds for martyr soldiers.

Going by the happenings, Akshay looks to be getting closer to BJP and also winning people’s hearts through charity works and socially responsible films. As per BJP sources, Akshay is keen to join the Saffron party ahead of 2019 elections.

While her seniors such as Nayanthara, Anushka, Kajal, Trisha etc. are still pocketing decent projects, Shruti Haasan now stands filmless. If we look at the decisions she has made over the past few years, she has no one but herself to blame for putting a sudden full stop (almost) to her career.

All of the reigning Southern hotties of past decade such as Nayanthara, Anushka, Tamanna, Kajal, Samantha, Trisha etc. concentrated primarily on the industry that pave red carpet for them and shifted focus to neighboring industries only after losing charm in one industry.

Shruti on the other hand has always craved for recognition in Bollywood. Despite several offers opposite star heroes, she preferred to make her silver screen debut with a small Hindi film. All of her recent films bit dust at box office and she is also in news lately for alleged surgeries, weight issues, foreign boyfriend, quitting Sangamithra etc. At this moment, Shruti has not a single film in her kitty except the shelved film of her father Kamal Haasan, ‘Sabash Naidu’.

Why a bundle of talent like Shruti had to face this embarrassing situation when actresses of relatively less caliber are still bagging films. Shruti needs to introspect what has gone wrong and how she can bring her career back on track.

This generation might have known less about this legend, but surely he should be a lesson in school books for the students to come. When 85-year-old Cinare left the world today, it’s not his absence that would panic any, but the silence of greatest modern Telugu poetry that is to come is what worried literature lovers. Upon listening to some old-age songs like “Nannu Dochu Kunduvathi Vannela Dorasani” (Gulebakavali Katha, 1962) to the modern song “Jejemma Jegemma” (Arundathi, 2008), the lyrical depth and value of such songs turn this legendary poet immortal.

And that song about mothers, “Kantene amma ani ante ela karuniche prathi devatha amme kadha kanna amme kadha” from Preminchu movie, where a blind-girl protagonists sings, still moves many hearts. For the 1970 movie “Thalla Pellama”, Cinare scripted the iconic “Telugu Jaathi Manadhi.. Ninduga Velugu Jaathi Manadhi” song. Though he hails from Telangana region, he always looked at whole Telugu region as one, and Telugu race as one. After the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, when someone asked if his song would still stand true, he turned it this way- Telugu jaathi manadhi.. renduga velugu jaathi manadhi!!

What more do we need to understand his understanding, passion and integrity towards Telugu language and people? Rather focusing on rhyming (praasa), double entendres, English words, Cinare is the one who expressed any depths with his literary domination, excellence and command on the language and selfless passion for the works he creates.

As Telugu people, it’s our responsibility to carry forward the legacy of this legendary poet.

The importance of ‘seat belt’ is explained many times by specialists, car experts and also transport department officials, but still, many don’t pay attention to it.

The deaths of politicians like Bhuma Shobha Nagireddy and Minister Narayan’s son Nitish have given a clear message that wearing seat belts would save lives. There is this unknown story about a Telugu director as well whose latest film “Ami Tumi” is running in theatres now.

During the post-production times of “Gentleman” movie, director Indraganti Mohan Krishna was said to be working for very late hours. On one such day, when he’s feeling little sleepy, Indraganti tumbled at the wheel and hit a Metro pillar. The moment he struck it, his car got crashed to the pulp but he left the scene with some small scratches. This was because he’s wearing a seatbelt and the airbags also helped him.

Later Indraganti decided never to drive a car while feeling sleepy and also brought a new luxurious BMW sedan that has world’s best safety features. Still, one needs to wear a seatbelt no matter how sophisticated one’s car is. Luck will not help all the times.

Even when Allu Arjun is giving his speech, his fans started shouting ‘DJ DJ DJ’ and haven’t got controlled until Bunny has thrown a joke. “DJ DJ ani arichi.. Sabhya Samajaniki Emi Message Iddamani” said the stylish star, using a dialogue from his own film. Before that, when Allu Arvind is speaking, DJ chants continued. Similarly, Rao Ramesh too faced the sounding. And actor Subba Raju has joined the chorus and started shouting DJ DJ DJ along with the crowds.

Wonder why these fans kept shouting DJ, rather their hero’s name or tag, but surely that has dominated the usual Powerstar chants.
