Pelli Choopulu has turned out to be the sleeper hit this year as the film continued to set cash registers ringing in urban areas and multiplexes. Suresh Babu, who released the film, is cashing on the success and laughing all the way to the bank. This isn’t all.
It’s Suresh Babu who’s stealing all the credit for the success whereas the producer Raj Kandukuri and Madhura Sreedhar Reddy who invested some money aren’t in the news much. Even many in film fraternity are all praise for Babu and his astute judgement on films rather than recognising the efforts of the original makers who first believed in the script.
Irrespective of this, the film is fairly doing well and yet again proved that content films do magic at the box office.

The entire Andhra Pradesh is feeling cheated by the ruling BJP as the Modi government has failed to keep its 2014 election promise of according special status to Andhra Pradesh for 10 years. After the centre failed to make any clear assurances to the state during the ongoing monsoon sessions of the Parliament, there has been an overwhelming dissent against BJP from the TDP leaders and even common people.
While media thought that TDP’s Hindupur MLA Balakrishna stayed aloof from the special status, Balayya today fired on the BJP with strong words. Balayya warned BJP that it will have to face severe consequences if it doesn’t accord special status to Andhra Pradesh.
Balayya went on to state that AP need not beg any one for special status and that BJP should keep its promise and grant the special status immediately. Balayya met Minister Atchennaidu at the Secretariat and explained about the issues in his Hindupur constituency.

Tamil Star Hero Vikram, who has not scored a single hit in the Telugu states ever since the resounding success of ‘Aparichithudu’, has managed to fetch decent sum for the theatrical rights of his much-awaited film Inkokkadu.
Neelam Krishna Reddy of NKR movies, has reportedly shelled out a fancy price to grab the Telugu distribution rights of Inkokkadu. The price is said to be more than Rs 11 cr, which is sensational for a hero who has not scored a hit in a long time. Although Vikram’s last film ‘I’ did a business of close to Rs 30 Cr in the Telugu states alone, that was the sole craze for Shankar’s film and not for Virkam’s.
Except ‘I’, none of Vikram’s films in the recent past has managed to grab even half the price fetched by Inkokkadu. Especially, after the release of Iru Mugan theatrical trailer, the film’s business started making waves.
