There is new addition to director Sriwass and young hero Bellamkonda Srinivas film. Producer Abhishek, who said to have impressed with the film’s script, has taken over the project. Abhishek has an old commitment with hero Srinivas. He was supposed to bankroll a film with Bellamkonda Srinivas and Boyapati Sreenu film. But later, he was replaced by Miryala Ravinder Reddy.

Now, Abhishek has come forward to honour his old commitment. He is now going to bankroll Sriwass and Srinivas film replacing the Meghana Arts (of Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada fame) which was originally supposed to produce the film. This is going to be Sriwass’ sixth film and the director says that this will be totally different from his previous works. Touted to be a big-budgeted film with ensemble cast and top technicians, the film is going to have a new story with interesting screenplay.

Stylish actor Jagapathi Babu, Ravi Kishan and Madhu Guruswamy (Kannada actor) will be seen in prominent roles in the film. None other than, ‘Rockstar’ Devi Sri Prasad is going to compose music. “Baahubali” fame Peter Hein is action choreographer and well-known cinematographer Arthur A Wilson handles camera. Popular writer Sai Madhav Burra is penning the dialogues. Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao is the editor and AS Prakash is the art director.

To be shot in India & abroad in beautiful locations, the film’s regular shoot is going to begin from June 12. A noted heroine is said to be in talks for the film opposite Srinivas.

Going by the tentative and official release dates of upcoming biggies, the box office battle for Sankranthi 2018 and/or Dusshera 2017 is going to be more intense than of Sankranthi 2017 (Khaidi No.150 vs GPSK).

‘Rangasthalam 1985’, a highly anticipated film in the combination of Ram Charan and Sukumar is just officially announced as a Sankranthi 2018 gift to Telugu film lovers.

Coming to the unofficial but reliable reports, Superstar Mahesh Babu’s ‘Bharat Ane Nenu’ and Bunny’s next film in the direction of Vakkantham Vamsi are also slated for next Sankranthi. And, the biggest contenders of all, Pawan Kalyan-Trivikram film may also join the race to spice up the equations.

Well, considering that Ram Charan may never incline pitting his film against his babai, Pawan Kalyan’s film, it is believed that he has announced his film for Sankranthi only after receiving a confirmation from the producer of Pawan-Trivikram film that he is not vying for Sankranthi slot.

With Charan already making an official announcement, Bunny may step back from Sankranthi race to keep the unity in Mega family. He has the convenient option of moving to April 2018. In that case, it will be the third time Charan and Mahesh will be competing for Sankranthi (Nayak vs SVSC in 2013 and Yevadu vs Nenokkadine in 2014).

Moving on, considering that Pawan-Trivikram film is not releasing for Sankranthi, the only other option is Dussehra this year. In that case, it will be #PK25 vs Mahesh’s SPYder as the latter film is already officially announced. This will be the mother of clashes if happens. Balayya-Puri film is also slated for Dussehra.

On the whole, Mahesh may have to compete with Pawan for Dussehra and Charan for Sankranthi. These are mere sane possibilities and we need to wait until official announcements are made. It would be wise if buyers invest on these films only after getting a clear idea on clashes.

A film on the life of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh with veteran Bollywood actor Anupam Kher in lead role, titled ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ was recently announced. It seems that the Censor Board has already issued a cautionary warning to makers even before the shoot commenced.

Censor Board chairperson Pahlaj Nihalani has now divulged that makers will have to first and foremost obtain no-objection certificate (NOC) from Manmohan Singh, Congress President Sonia Gandhi and all the other real-life politicians whose characters would be portrayed in the film. He cautioned that the film may have to face hurdles clearing the CBFC without the NOCs.

Now, the moot question is, will the aforementioned people give NOCs? Would it matter if they don’t give NOCs?

It may be noted that the film is an adaptation of Sanjay Baru’s controversial book “The Accidental Prime Minister: The Making and Unmaking of Manmohan Singh”. When neither Manmohan nor Gandhi could stop the book from releasing, how can they create roadblocks for the film? Well, the answer is simple, the book didn’t have to pass the Censor Board and its reach was far limited compared to its silver screen adaption.

The project has sizable attracted media attention since a pro-BJP Kher is essaying the former Congress PM.

The sequel to Sabbir Khan’s Baaghi, a 2016 film based on Tollywood’s Varsham, will be reportedly helmed by Ahmed Khan and the young pair are apparently thrilled to kick-start the new project, to be bank rolled by Sajid Nadiadwala. Expected to hit floors soon, the movie will see light on 27th April, 2018. The first part of Baaghi featured our Telugu actor Sudheer Babu in a grey role.

When Ram Charan teamed up with Sukumar for a complete village-based entertainer, a variety of titles floated on internet but the official title turned out to be a massive surprise, something that never came into discussions on social media.

Director Sukumar has just a while ago officially announced the film’s title – ‘Rangasthalam’ 1985. The film, which is primarily shot across Godavari belt, is expected to be high on emotions with Charan and Samantha’s love story at the core. 1985 indicates the year the film is set in. Overall, the title is an unexpected one and it has the uncanny factor to hold people’s interest.

And, another surprise came in the form of release date. Right form the day the film’s shooting commenced, it was publicized and assumed that it will hit screens for Dussehra this year. But, the makers have now officially announced Sankranthi 2018 release. Given the snail-pace of the shooting, probably they can wrap up the film by the end of this year, hence the Sankranthi release. The Sankranthi 2018 battle has got intense.
