Director’s off-screen romance with a young heroine is becoming talking point in the industry circles. Rumours are rife that the director is often spending quality time with the actress and the duo is comfort in each others company. While he is much elder to her, it’s said that age doesn’t have much role to play and both are happy in others space.

It’s rumoured that the director is spending more time with her and leaving his ongoing project aside. Talk is that this has also led to the increase in the production cost of the director’s ongoing film. Although she made quite a good name, the actress still has to go a long way. And perhaps she has no other option but to please him.

Since the director is already happily married, these rumours tend to irk his closed ones.

Who Is Bollywood's Highest Adv Tax Payers?

Share

1490242524-118

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan proves that he’s not just the Sultan of box-office, but also the proves to be ‘Baap’ of taxpayers by paying an advance tax of 44.5 crore. He paid that amount for the financial year 2016-17 to top the list of ‘leading advance taxpayers in Bollywood’. Whereas for previous year 2015-16, Dabangg star paid out 32 Crore as advance tax

The list also includes female actors like Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt and Kareena Kapoor whose tax numbers are also quite high. It can be remembered that Forbes named Deepika as 10th highest paid actress in world. Comedian and TV host Kapil Sharma also finds a place alongside these superstars for a straight second year.

Other B-town stars who entered into top 10 list are: 2. Akshay Kumar (29.5Crore), 3. Hrithik Roshan (25.5 Crore), 4. Kapil Sharma (23.9 Crore), 5. Ranbir Kapoor (16.5 Crore), 6. Aamir Khan (14.8 Crore), 7. Karan Johar (11.7 Crore), 8. Deepika Padukone (10.25 Crore), 9. Alia Bhatt (4.33 Crore) and 10. Kareena Kapoor (3.9 Crore).

Compared to last year, majority of stars have scaled up their advance tax payments and interestingly, King Khan Sharukh didn’t find a place in the list.

Venky Decided to Trouble Puri?

As per the latest information, the release of Venkatesh’s Guru would be advanced by a week against its original date of April 7th. The makers of Guru are contemplating to prepone the film’s release to March last week contrary to April 1st week release.

When contacted, a source close to the development said, “It’s not official yet. It could be on March 31st or could be on March 29th. Makers are also considering Ugadi date.”

If Guru is advanced to March, it would invariably clash with Puri Jagannadh’s Rogue that is slated for release on March 29. Already Puri’s team is worried over clashing with biggie like Katamarayudu that is releasing on March 24th and if Venkatesh too join the clash, it’d be a trouble for Puri as Ishan is a newcomer.

Given that Puri’s Rogue is already battling with low buzz, it has to be seen whether Puri steps back or would he request Guru to step back. As of now, there’s a great confusion among the release dates and looks like, it all depends on the response of Katamarayudu. If Pawan’s Katamarayudu gets good word of the mouth, these films are predicted to postpone. Let’s wait and see.

Ugly Toilet Talk of Jagan & Yanamala

Share

yanamala

When Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishna was about to answer to the questions raised by YSRCP MLAs on Wednesday, Opposition leader YS Jagan had walked out of the house and this raised an ugly war of words between Yanamala and Jagan. Yanamala had pointed out that Jagan Reddy was ‘escaping’ when he’s about to start his speech.

Reacting to Yanamala’s accusation, Jagan said, “I have gone to toilet. Should I raise my little finger and took permission from Naidu and others before going to toilet also? If Chandrababu also shows his little finger whenever he wants to go out and set it as a new precedent, I’m okay to follow.” Jagan quipped that he didn’t know when this practice was started and shot back at Yanamala for unnecessarily making issues like this.

Refuting to Jagan’s claim, Yanamala had alleged that Jagan wasn’t in corridor and he was in his personal room and he (Jagan) had come to the Assembly only after he (Jagan) received message from his (Jagan’s) team that he (Yanamala) is making issue.

Yanamala said, “I’m sure Jagan left only when I stood up to speak on the questions raised by his team on the budget. As per parliamentary practice, Opposition leader should be present. This is not first time, he has done like this. He had gone out even during the Assembly session when it happened in Hyderabad earlier. I’m fine. It’s easy for us. Even if no one is there also, I could give my reply. But it’s basic courtesy of Opposition leader to stay in the house when Finance Minister is talking on an important subject like budget in the house.”

Jagan Reddy responded and further defended his stand and retaliated Yanamala’s accusation stating that there’s no logic, reason in Yanamala’s statement. Jagan claimed that he is the one who spends more time in the house than anyone else. He said that he was patient enough even when TDP leaders have blamed his deceased father YS Rajasekhar Reddy and stood in the house when his MLAs were speaking as a moral support to them.

“I need not be in house. The questions were asked by my fellow MLAs and you (Yanamala) were answering. But why do you want me? If you ask any question, they’re there to answer,” said Jagan.

And finally this had put Jagan in spot as Yanamala smartly concluded, “Jagan finally opened up that he need not want to be in the house. This is why he had left. Really, he didn’t gone out to toilet. I’d like to clarify him that I only answer and I don’t question Opposition. Opposition can only question and they can’t answer. They’re not answerable to me. Jagan and Opposition leaders are answerable to people.”

On the whole, the ugly talk of toilet, restroom and all have certainly irked public who were watching the proceedings of Assembly. Looks like, the ongoing rivalry between Jagan and TDP is turning uglier and personal with each passing day.

Pia Bajpai, who is known to Telugu audiences as the cute actress from hit film ‘Rangam’, has explored her wildest side in her recent photo shoot. While the unbuttoned white shirt is giving an irresistible view of the valley of Pia’s cleavage, the lustful eyes are making her look more desirable.

The bold lady is currently waiting for the release of her new Hindi film, ‘Mirza Juliet’. This explosive photo shoot just two weeks ahead of the film’s release looks to be a great ploy.

'Pawan Ki Malli Pelli Chesthada Enti?'

Pawan Kalyan’s hysterical laugh during the pre-release event of Katamarayudu has remained a mystery ever since the event was held the other day.

As Pawan seemingly laughed after Ali said something, it was speculated by some people on social media that the ace comedian might have cracked an adult joke, for which he is quite famous. During his speech at another event, Ali has finally put an end card to the suspense of Pawan’s animated laugh

Ali said, ‘When producer Sharrath Marrar kept on praising Pawan’s dressing and stylish looks in ‘Panche’, I said, ‘Malli Pelli gani chesthada’ enti? Although I said it casually, it made Pawan crack up uncontrollably. I didn’t think it would become a rage on social media’.

Ali is known to be a close friend of Pawan. They share so great a bond that even a joke on his marriage (Pawan already married thrice) made Pawan laugh. We wonder how the actor would have reacted if someone else had said the same thing right on his face.

Mani Ratnam's Cheliyaa Losing the Craze!

cheliya

Is Mani Ratnam’s much-awaited “Cheliyaa” losing the craze that it has generated with the first teaser and first two songs? Recently theatrical trailer came out and all the audio tracks were released.

But both the new trailer and the remaining songs have failed to trend on the social media.

The first teaser and the songs of “Humsaaro” and “Maimarupaa” were received well prompting huge expectations on the movie. Mani Ratnam generally never goes wrong with love stories.

“Cheliyaa” seems to be more about India-Pakistan border fight than intense love story. So, the theatrical trailer has focussed less on romance.

Starring Karthi and Aditi Rao Hyderi, “Cheliyaa” is hitting the screens on 7th April in Tamil and Telugu languages worldwide. The movie is presented by Dil Raju but he is absent at recent promotional event at Park Hyatt in Hyderabad as he is grieving the loss of his wife Anitha.

Karthi has good market in Telugu states and he may start doing promotional activity before the release to create some buzz.

On the other hand, Mani Ratnam will be launching a new movie with Ram Charan in Telugu in the month of July which will also be co-produced by Charan.

Brutus Within YSR Family Ditched Jagan!

jagan-3 (1)

The defeat of YSR Congress party candidate Y S Vivekananda Reddy in the just concluded MLC elections under local bodies’ quota has come as a rude shock to many.

It was a shock to party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy himself, because as many as 24 voters out of 39 voters in the local bodies belonging to YSR Congress party in his Pulivendula assembly constituency cross-voted for TDP candidate B Tech Ravi.

Definitely it is a big setback to Jagan and the actual behind-the-scene episode for the debacle of YSRC is coming to light now.

According to the reports, it was Vivekanand Reddy’s own brother and Jagan’s uncle Y S Manohar Reddy who had played “Brutus” in ditching the party by succumbing to the money power of the TDP.

For the last few months, Manohar Reddy has been feeling suffocating and ignored in the party, though his wife Prameelamma is municipal chairperson of Pulivendula and his son Y S Avinash Reddy is the Lok Sabha member of Kadapa. There was a talk that Manohar Reddy might even quit the YSRC, but he denied the same.

Taking advantage of his disgruntlement, the TDP leadership lured him quietly by offering Rs 100 crore pipeline contract, besides another Rs 24 crore for securing 24 votes of YSRC in favour of the TDP candidate in the MLC polls.

Manohar Reddy fell into the trap of TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu who executed the plan perfectly with the help of minister Ganta Srinivas Rao, MP C M Ramesh and MLA Adinarayan Reddy. He turned a covert and managed polling of 24 votes in favour of the TDP candidate, much to Jagan’s shock.

The question is why Jagan could not do anything when Naidu was undertaking the covert operation. May be he thought his uncle would get exposed on his own, as he knew that if not now, Manohar Reddy would ditch him some other day. So, the sooner the better, Jagan thought.

However, he was a bit over-confident and did not expect that there would be such a massive cross voting in Pulivendula alone!

Trailer Talk: Less Anandam, More Vaitla Mixture

Share

mister

When the teaser of Sreenu Vaitla’s ‘Mister’ starring Varun Tej was released, it seemed as if the director has changed after tasting successive disasters. But, the just released trailer poured water on all such hopes.

Mister trailer gave an impression of this film too falling in his typical formulaic filmography. The film surely has vibes of Vaitla’s classic ‘Anandam’ which he directed during the initial stages of his career, but the overdose of routine comedy, action and forced emotions look to have dominated what could have been an interesting triangular love story.

It seemed as if each scene shown in the trailer was lifted from the Telugu movies that we have seen in the recent times. The poor editing could also be the reason for generating this negative impression on the trailer.

Mickey J Mayer’s soothing background score is the biggest positive of the trailer. KV Guhan’s visuals too deserve appreciation. Mister has an impressive cast with Lavanya and Hebah as the female leads. Lets hope Vaitla doesn’t deliver another flop to the Mega family after Andarivadu and Bruce Lee.

After Baahubali, What To Expect??

Share

bahu

Other day while speaking at “Cheliya” Telugu trailer and audio launch, legendary AR Rahman made an interesting comment. “Telugu cinema has evolved so much now and I’m happy for that. You have a Baahubali now, and I wish four of such movies will come every year from this tinsel town” said Rahman. While some took it like a satire, there is absolute truth in what Rahman said as Baahubali made the Telugu flag fly so high.

So the moot question now is, what to expect after Rajamouli’s Baahubali: The Conclusion releases? Either some other director has to take up such enormous project or Rajamouli should come up with another interesting Baahubalian kind of film. Insiders revealed that Rajamouli wants to make two simple movies after Baahubali. In that case, which director is ready to come up with movies of such grandeur and stature?

In the first place, if a producer needs to invest 100s of crores on a director to carve out films like Baahubali, surely the track record of that director should be strong. Probably we have only Trivikram’s name popping up in that case but he’s more of dialogue-based than visuals. So who will carve out another Baahubali for Telugu industry is the question now.

Pawan's Promise To Bandla Ganesh

ganesh

Actor-turned-producer Bandla Ganesh has been off from production for quite sometime. After a long hiatus, Ganesh had recently announced to media that he would soon start his production ventures. Now the latest we hear is that Ganesh wants to comeback with a star-studded film only rather than small and medium budget concept films and has put those plans on the back burner.

Apparently, Ganesh is in touch with Pawan. He had met him recently and a pic of Ganesh with Pawan was also circulated earlier. After Bandla’s thunderous speech at the pre-release function of Katamarayudu, Pawan is said to have quite impressed and toying with the idea of doing another film for Ganesh.

Earlier Ganesh had produced Teen Maar and Gabbar Singh with Pawan and has been waiting for Pawan’s nod after the blockbuster success of Gabbar Singh. It’s said that Ganesh would announce it once the story and director get finalised. Ganesh has decided not to announce any other films till his film with Pawan. Given that Pawan has a pipeline of commitments already, it has to be seen when and where he would accommodate a film for Ganesh.

At the moment, it’s certainly big news for Bandla Ganesh.

Given that their parties are at loggerheads, YCP chief Jagan and TDP leader Balakrishna Nandamuri are expected to be arch rivals. However, an interesting conversation happened among TDP leaders in AP Assembly lobby on Wednesday stands testimonial to the admiration that Jagan still possess for Balayya.

Before venturing into active politics and founding the YSRC party, Jagan was rumored to be the President of Kadapa district Balayya fans association. Going by the latest reports, Jagan’s adulation for Balayya has not diminished even after they became political rivals.

As per media reports, when Jagan recently met TDP MLA Kadiri Babu Rao at an airport, the duo spoke of several things. When the topic of Balayya’s leadership in Anantapur came up, Jagan has reportedly lauded the film star for having utmost decency and never criticizing him or his party leaders unlike many TDP representatives. These positive words of Jagan for Balayya slowly spread in political circles.

According to the reports of the media house that has the rights of AP Assembly coverage, on Wednesday, when TDP MLC Payyavula Kesav directly asked Babu Rao about Jagan’s good words for Balayya when they met in the Assembly lobby, the latter has affirmed. He also reminded that Jagan was once the President of Kadapa Balayya Fans Association.

An senior IAS officer has been arrested in connection with a murder case registered against his son in Hyderabad.

The official D. Venkateswara Rao was arrested for allegedly trying to wipe out the evidence by helping his son Venkat Sukrut alias Sukru (21) shift the body of Bhukya Nagaraju (31) from an apartment building where he was murdered.

Sukru murdered Nagaraju on March 17 on the terrace of Sai Kalyan Residency Apartments at Yousufguda.

Police said Sukru, a second-year LLB student, and Nagaraju were in a homosexual relationship.

The two, who were in an inebriated condition, had a fight after Nagaraju allegedly wanted to have unnatural sex with him. During the scuffle, Sukru hit him on his head with a brick, resulting in his death.

Sukru’s father, who is Deputy Director in Telangana’s Agriculture Department, instead of informing the police hatched a plan with him to dispose of the body and thus wipe out the evidence.

However, the youth failed in his attempt to bring down the body from terrace and had to flee when questioned by one of the residents.

Following the complaint by the driver’s wife, police detained Sukru. Later, his father was also arrested.

Ram-Charan-7506

Actor Ram Charan has taken time off and met guru and director Mani Ratnam who was in Hyderabad on Tuesday for the audio launch of his forthcoming film Cheliya. Mani had stayed in a star hotel where Charan said to had met Mani and discussed their next film.

Although usually, Mani doesn’t prefer to stay and flew-back on same day, apparently he agreed to stay in hotel and a room was booked for Mani as the director wanted to meet Charan and discuss their up next project.

It’s common knowledge that Charan and Mani Ratnam are going to team up for a power-packed action film. This would roll on after Charan’s present commitment with Sukumar.

It can be noted that Charan took up Dhruva (Thani Oruvan in Tamil) only after Mani Ratnam’s advice to try out-of-the-box scripts. And as the film worked well in Telugu despite several odds, Charan said to have thanked Mani for his piece of advice. Meanwhile, reports are rife that Mani is planning to rope in Aravind Swamy in the film. If it happens, it will be a big casting coup.

Aus Media Compares Kohli With Trump

kohli

The Australian media had to face the wrath of Indian cricket fans after it compared Team India skipper Virat Kohli with the US President Donald Trump. “Kohli is the Donald Trump of world sport,” accused the Aussie media.

Not just cricket lovers even Big B Amitabh Bachchan came in support of Kohli and trolled the Australian media for accepting the fact that Virat Kohli is a winner and also the President.

Australian media targeted Kohli after he had accused the Australian players of disrespecting Team India physio Patrick Farhart during the recently concluded third Test in Ranchi.

Kohli’s counterpart, Steven Smith however rebuked Kohli’s allegations and said that they never trolled Farhart, who himself is an Australian.

Earlier, on the first day of the Ranchi Test, Kohli hurt his right shoulder while saving a run. Farhart rushed onto the field to treat Kohli but the captain eventually left the field. Later, Aussie all-rounder Glenn Maxwell mocked Kohli’s injury by clutching onto his shoulder after he dived to save a boundary.

The fourth and final test is expected to be a cracker of a game given the myriad controversies this series has witnessed.

Busy Shruti – No Time For Rayudu!

Shruti Haasan, who time and again thanks Pawan Kalyan for giving her the first ever blockbuster of her career with Gabbar Singh, which was one of the prime reasons for her current star status, is surprisingly giving a miss to the promotions of Katamarayudu.

The makers of the March 24 release action entertainer are now releasing video bytes of Shruti, which were shot while the actress was on the sets, to compensate for the lack of promotions from her side. It is known that Shruti even missed the pre-release event of Katamarayudu.

Being a busy actress in Tamil and Hindi film industries too, Shruti may have failed to adjust time to attend promotional interviews. Katamarayudu team however is planning to pursue her to take part in at least post-release promotions.

Given Pawan’s reluctance to promote films, the responsibility of giving interviews to media has fallen on the shoulders of Shruti.

'We Can Make 500 Movies Instead of Baahubali'

Tollywood people and Telugu film lovers call Rajamouli’s magnum opus ‘Baahubali’, our pride. It doesn’t mean that the film has no detractors, but they are far and few. It seems that legendary Telugu actor Kaikala Satyanarayana is one among them.

In a recent interview, Kaikala found fault with the popular perception of ‘Baahubali’ being called the pride of Tollywood. ‘What is so great about that film. If one makes a film with huge sets and graphics, will it be a great film? We used to call them tricks and now they call Graphics. Does Baahubali has any story,’ he questioned.

He went on to say that 500 films can be made with Rs 500 Cr budget, which was reportedly splurged to make Baahubali. ‘We have seen all that grandeur very long ago in Hollywood. Wasting crores of money and luring people with graphics won’t make a film great,’ he jibed.

Some time ago, veteran actress Jamuna too expressed similar views. Generation gap could probably be the reason for the veterans having such contrasting opinions on big budget visual extravaganzas, which are loved by this generation.

Malayalam superstar Mohanlal has amassed huge fan following not just with his unparalleled acting talent but also because of his unconventional lifestyle. The ‘Complete Actor’ has the other day traveled around Kerala capital, Trivandrum by a bicycle. This came into light only after a vernacular media house published the news along with images.

Reportedly, the actor chose early morning 4 AM for his bicycle ride as he couldn’t afford to attract public attention. Public floating will surely be less at such early morning and moreover, Mohanlal was wearing a normal white shirt and lungi like any average Malayali.

He successfully completed his journey as no one noticed him. He even took several pictures and they are currently making hulchul on social media. It was said to be Mohanlal’s longtime wish to travel around Trivandrum by bicycle.

On work front, Mohanlal will next be seen on Telugu silver screen in war film, ‘1971 – Bharata Sarihaddu’, which also stars Allu Sirish.
