Share

untitle

Gone are the days where fans create ruckus and heroes stop their daughters from becoming heroines. While boys enjoying unprecedented support from these fan bases to become star heroes even though they have inferior talents, beautiful daughters are not becoming starlets here.

Of late Tollywood is evolving and the likes of Nagababu’s daughter Niharika and Uttej’s daughter Chetana are trying to become happening heroines. But going glamorous is just a distant dream for them and that also declines them the chance of becoming star heroines. We are hearing that a star hero who is on the verge of retirement is in a confused state now because of his daughters.

He has two daughters who are ready to take up work in film industry, while one happens to be fashion designer other one wants to become an actress. They are very beautiful and for the family background they have, it’s easy to get into films. But what will fans say about the move? That’s the question worrying our star hero. It’s becoming an everyday war at home as the girls want to debut in films immediately, while dad wants them to wait. Already a cousin of these girls is going great here though there is no big break, and the girls are questioning why their cousin’s debut happened already but not theirs.

In Bollywood, we have the likes of Sonam Kapoor, Sonakshi, Shraddha and Alia Bhatt who are ultra-glamorous super starlets of the season, but Tollywood isn’t that liberal to accept daughters from noted cinema families in that way. What would our senior star hero do? Let’s see.

In the World Happiness Report 2017, India ranked 122 among the surveyed 155 countries. India dropped from 118 in the last year’s report to 122 this year. In comparison, countries such as China (79), Pakistan (80), Nepal (99), Bangladesh (110) and Iraq (117) fared better than India in the report.

The report is prepared based on parameters such as GDP per capita, social support, healthy life expectancy, corruption, happiness at workplace etc. Norway was ranked the happiest country in the world. The US ranked 14th.

Heroine Nitya Menon was recently seen in films like Oka Ammayi Tappa and others, which have flopped big time at the box office. That has also proven that these days she lost her story-picking touch as she went on starring only in dud flicks. But here is a stunner.

Whenever a director or producer is approaching Nitya Menon these days, she’s simply rejecting the offers. Some thought that she’s in need of more remuneration, while few felt that she’s looking forward for some very interesting storylines. However, there is a different reason altogether behind Nitya not signing any Telugu movie.

Not just Telugu movies, but she isn’t signing any language movies because she wants to pursue her new interest. Yes, Nitya Menon revealed to a leading Telugu director that she wants to direct her own film now. Whether she will act in it or not, she has two scripts written and got an approval for one of them. Currently, the pre-production work is going on for this Telugu-Malayalam bilingual and soon she will announce it officially. After cherishing her ‘direction’ dreams, she wants to come back to acting yet again.

Many heroines have tried at direction including the likes of Savitri and recently Renu Desai, but only a few have succeeded. We have to see on which side Nitya Menon lands on. All the best, talented beauty!!

Jagan Has No Right To Go Even To Toilet?

Share

jagan-3 (1)

The highhanded behaviour of the ruling Telugu Desam Party in the state assembly seems to have gone to new heights, so much so that the ministers have been questioning the opposition MLAs for leaving the house even to attend nature’s calls.

On Tuesday, when finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu was speaking, Leader of Opposition and YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy suddenly left the House for some time. Some of his party MLAs, too, accompanied him.

When he returned after some time, Yanamala found fault with Jagan for leaving the house when the discussion was on. An irritated Jagan told him that he had to go to toilet and hence left the House for some time.

“Why? Don’t we have the right to go even to toilet? Should we show one finger and take your permission?” he asked.

Yanamala said he had no objection if Jagan showed one finger or two fingers, but should have informed the chair.

“If you are going for toilet, why should you take four or five MLAs along with you? You did the same even in Hyderabad,” he pointed out.

This is ridiculous, Mr Yanamala. Whenever the leader gets up and goes out, it is nothing but natural that some MLAs accompany him as there would be many issues which they should discuss with him. And there is no need for the MLAs to take permission every time when they go out. This is not the school, sir!

Alone in America, our firms paid out a massive USD 20 billion in the form of taxes last year. Also, they have provided close to 4 lakh jobs there and certainly, added more value to the foreign country.’

The recent developments in US warned of the risks around growing Donald Trump factor and the new visa-policy bill introduced in US Congress. Recently, the higher authorities of India have raised a serious concern with America about their renewed policy.

The BJP-minister also highlighted the growing opportunities in our country and how well India is being able to attract global investments. Besides emphasizing that Congress-led UPA could only manage 11,000 cr during their term, Mr. Prasad asserted that ‘India is on the edge of becoming biggest electronic hub in world and have already gained 1.27 trillion worth investments under NDA regime’. What is meant by 'Alagaa Janam,' Mr Naidu?

babu-3-1

The Opposition YSR Congress party on Tuesday served notice seeking to move a Privilege Motion against Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for his “derogatory” comments against the YSRC legislators.

The YSRC took strong exception to the term “Alagaa Janam” used by Naidu to attack the opposition party members during his reply to to the thanksgiving motion to Governor ESL Narasimhan’s speech in the Assembly on Monday.

The notice was served according to the Assembly rule of 168 to Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao.

They alleged that Naidu, who always preaches about maintenance of dignity and decorum of the house, himself had forgotten about it and referred to opposition MLAs as “Alagaa Janam.”

Now, the question is whether Naidu used the word deliberately or unknowingly. In the general parlance, the word means “cheap people” but etymologically, it is used to refer to “untouchable people.”

Naturally, the YSR Congress party has got a weapon saying it is a derogatory word and has hurt the sentiments of SC and ST MLAs.

Though Naidu sought to give clarification on the word, he did not get the opportunity to the ruckus created in the house over the atrocities on wome

CBN Calls Remark On Corruption A 'Slip Of Tongue'

AMARAVATI: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today said it was a “slip of tongue” when he made a remark on corruption in the Assembly yesterday. He clarified in the House today that the state was number one in “eliminating” corruption. He even challenged the opposition YSR Congress for a debate on corruption.

“I actually wanted to tell the state is top in the country in eliminating corruption and in development. But, due to a slip of tongue, I said AP ranked first in the country in corruption as well as development,” the Chief Minister said in the Assembly today.

He requested Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao to correct his statement in the House records. “I have not seen such a bankrupt party like YSR Congress in my 40-year-long political career. I am a human and I too get irritated and frustrated, and even angered, though I am controlling myself to the maximum,” he said.

“Yesterday, in one such moment, I had mistakenly made a statement on the corruption issue. I actually wanted to say we are ranked number one in eliminating corruption in the country,” Mr Chandrababu said.

Accordingly, the Speaker said he would get the record corrected.

Meanwhile, the YSRC MLAs, who surrounded the Speaker’s podium, raised slogans saying “Chandrababu is number one in corruption.”

The Chief Minister warned that their “rowdyism will not be tolerated.”

Mr Chandrababu said the government is ready for a debate on corruption. “We are ready. You please ask the opposition if it is ready for a debate,” the Chief Minister told the Speaker.

However, the YSRC legislators kept on raising slogans in the House. It later subsided after the Speaker assured them that their legislator Buggana Rajendranath Reddy would be allowed to conclude his speech on the Budget.

Women lawmakers in Andhra nearly came to blows

Share

Untitled

Amaravati: Women legislators of the ruling TDP and the lone opposition YSR Congress in Andhra Pradesh nearly came to blows in the premises of the legislative assembly here on Tuesday.

There was heavy pushing and jostling between the two groups as they tried to snatch mikes from each other.

Trouble broke out when TDP’s V. Anitha tried to stop YSR Congress member G. Eshwari, who was addressing media persons over the increasing atrocities on women in the state. There was a heated argument between the two.

Minutes later, Minister for Women Welfare P. Sujata and other TDP members reached there.

As Eshwari continued to speak and criticise the government, Sujata pulled the podium with several TV channel mikes on it towards her. YSR Congress members resisted this.

There was high tension as the two groups pushed each other and almost came to blows. The assembly security personnel intervened to control the situation.

Eashwari alleged that the ruling party was resorting to high-handedness and not allowing them to speak both in the assembly and outside.

TDP member Anitha alleged that it had become a habit for the opposition members to indulge in rude behaviour.

The women legislators of both parties had been involved in bitter spats.

There was sharp exchange of words between YSR Congress member R.K. Roja and TDP’s Sunitha during the assembly session last year. Sunitha had alleged that the actress-turned-politician abused her.

The Privileges Committee of the assembly, which probed the incident, last week recommended that Roja be suspended from House for one year.

Who Wants To Ruin Roja's Political Career?

Share

roja

The other day, firebrand YSR Congress party MLA from Nagari R K Roja has alleged that the ruling Telugu Desam Party leaders, particularly chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, is hell bent on ruining her political career by conspiring to get her suspended for one more year.

Roja is of the view that she has become a nightmare for the TDP leadership as she has been raising very crucial issues in the assembly cornering the Naidu government. That was why the chief minister was going all out to see that she did not enter the assembly.

She asserted that she would move to the Supreme Court again if she was suspended for one more year.

However, TDP legislator from Payakaraopet V Anitha, on whose complaint the privileges committee took the decision of suspending Roja for one more year, said neither she nor her party had anything personal against Roja.

“There is no need for the TDP to ruin Roja’s career. What she is not realising is that it was her own boss Y S Jaganmohan Reddy who was ruining her political career,” she said.

Anitha pointed out that the issue would subside if Roja tendered an apology in the House, as mentioned by her in her letter to the privileges committee.

“If she says just one sentence, here will be no action against her, However, Jagan is preventing Roja from apologising for his own prestige as he thinks he can get the political mileage if she is suspended.

He wants to cash in on the sympathy arising out of Roja’s suspension. In the process, he is sacrificing Roja’s political life by not allowing her to raise the issues of her constituency in the House,” Anitha argued.
