Exclusive: Pawan-Trivikram Title
Ever since Pawan Kalyan and Trivikram Srinivas teamed up for yet another film, the hype surrounding the film has touched sky given that the combo earlier delivered two big hits Jalsa and Attarintiki Daredi. Since the film happens to be PK’s landmark 25th film (PK25), there have been great expectations.
While Pawan is going to be seen as a software engineer and will be romancing two beauties Keerthy Suresh and Anu Emmanuel, the latest we hear is that Trivikram has come up with an interesting title for the film. The film is going to be called as “Engineer Babu”. This is named after Pawan’s character Babu in the movie.
It’s learnt that the film is going to be a thorough entertainer laced with romance, family elements a la Attarintiki Daredi, Trivikram said to have penned witty punch liners considering that it is Pawan’s landmark film. The film has already begun its shoot and is going on in the outskirts of Hyderabad.
If all goes as per plan, the film will hit the screens on August 11. The unit is said to be working rigorously to meet the deadline. If there’s any change, the film would hit the screens on Sep 20th. An official confirmation on the title is expected shortly.
Non Bailable Warrant Against Senior Hero!
Bollywood hero ‘Khal Naik’ Sanjay Dutt has fell in trouble again. Mumbai High court issued non bailable warrant against the actor in a Shakil Noorani case pending since 2002.
The film producer lodged a complaint with police that Sanjay took Rs 50 lakh as advance but failed to complete his movie – Jaan Ki Baazi. He also informed that he was threatened by the mafia for insisting the bollywood hero to complete the film.
The film producer has been demanding to repay Rs 50 lakh and also another Rs 2 crore for the loss in the last 15 years.
Sanjay Dutt had recently released from jail by completing the jail term in connection with arms passion case during Mumbai riots in 2002. He was busy in shooting for two hindi films.
BR spoke to Me only Twice in 40 Years: Rajini
Superstar Rajinikanth made sensational comments on acclaimed Tamil filmmaker Bharathi Raja.
At the inauguration of Bharathi Raja International Institute of Cinema (BIIC), Rajini said: ‘Bharathi Raja spoke to Me only twice in the past 40 years. Once for the call sheets of mine for the movie ’16 Yella Vayasu’ Tamil Version. The second time was for the inauguration of BIIC. He never said I am a good actor. But, He would always say that I am a good person’.
Rajinikanth claimed he learnt a lot about how an actor should be like on the sets from his mentor K Balachander. He opined Film Institutes given an opportunity for aspiring actors and technicians to learn many aspects of Film Making.
Bharathi Raju lauded the rise of Rajinikanth, who comes from a humble background, to Superstar. He even appreciated the simplicity that Superstar maintains even after achieving so much.
Damage Control For Mister!
Varun Tej’s latest offering Mister that opened yesterday has received mixed to poor reviews. With Sreenu Vaitla unable to overcome his cliched story-telling and beaten-to-death format, the film’s second-half turned out to be a major dampener.
In a last-ditch effort to save the film, the makers have scissored the film. Sreenu Vaitla budged to the pressure and he has trimmed down 12 minutes. While the original film is 2.41 hours (including 9 minutes about cautioning of smoking and titles, thanks cards), the exact duration of the film is at 2.32 hours. After trimming 12 minutes, the final duration of the film is 2 hours and 20 minutes. A song and the procession scenes have been edited out.
Makers are pulling out all stops to release the trimmed version at the earliest. While the trimmed version is expected to be screened by tonight in a few multiplexes in Hyderabad, the edited portion will be updated in all theatres from Sunday.
Since there are no other major releases till Baahubali, makers of Mister are hoping for a miracle. Let’s wait and see, what’s in store for the film.
Avika Gor in an International TV show
Avika Gor gained popularity among TV audience as a child actor in ‘Baalika Vadhu’ serial. The same serial was telacasted in Telugu as ‘Chinnari Pellikuturu’. She debuted as a heroine with ‘Uyyala Jampala’ later. Even though she has done very few films she is pretty popular among Telugu audience. KTR Sells Ice Cream For Lakhs!
As part of a call made by TRS Supremo K Candrasekhar Rao to all his party leaders to generate funds through ‘Coolie (Labour)’ work for the conduct of mammoth party’s public meeting on April 17, the CM’s son and IT Minister KT Rama Rao plunged into action.
KTR on Friday played a role of Ice Cream maker and supplier at an snack parlor for one hour in Hyderabad. He, accompanied by his party leader, served ice creams to the consumers for one hour. Malkajgiri MP Malla Reddy donated Rs 5 lakh as his contribution to the minister. Another senior leader also paid Rs one lakh to buy ice cream from the hands of KTR.
Earlier, KTR also played a role of juice maker and construction worker at Banjara Hills area. He got another Rs 7 lakh from the local participants as donations. All the donated money will be used for the conduct of the public meeting organised on TRS foundation day in Warangal. In view of cash crisis due to demonitisation, KCR asked party leaders to seek donations from people.
Rajinikanth Behind Mohan Babu's Pa Paandi Remake?
Dhanush’s directorial debut film ‘Pa Paandi’, which opened to positives response in Tamil Nadu this weekend, is reportedly gearing up for a Telugu remake.
Veteran actor Manchu Mohan Babu has reportedly given his nod to reprise the role essayed by Raj Kiran. Reports further added that Superstar Rajinikanth, who is a good friend of Mohan Babu, has held a special screening of Pa Paandi for the veteran Telugu actor. Impressed by the film, Mohan Babu has given his nod for the Telugu remake.
Pa Paandi explores the story of an aging stuntman’s love life and the sacrifices he makes for his closed ones. The way Dhanush narrated this emotional tale got appreciation from audiences. The lead role perfectly suits Mohan Babu and considering that the Telugu audiences are now open to content-based not-so commercial films, the idea of Telugu remake was pitched by Rajini.
Dhanush and Mohan Babu will together produce the Telugu remake, said media reports. The remake may go on floors in the latter half of this year.
Venky In Dilemma After Mister Misfires!
The misfire of ‘Mister’ means it will not be easy for Srinu Vaitla to convince another hero for collaboration.
It is heard that two months ago, Vaitla narrated a script to senior hero Venkatesh. At that time, Suresh Babu asked Vaitla to discuss the story after the release of ‘Mister’. As the film has received thumbs down from critics as well as audiences, this project may not materialize. At a time when Venky is looking for different subjects like Guru, he may not entertain the routine ideas of Vaitla.
The ‘Dookudu’ director had pinned very high hopes on ‘Mister’. He expected that the film will revive his career but sadly, the romantic entertainer is reportedly on its way to become another disappointment for him. It also means that Varun Tej’s wait for a commercial hit will continue.
On the other hand, Venky is yet to give his nod for his next film.
