Difficulty Behind Iconic Baahubali Scene

bahubali

The iconic scene where Kattappa seemingly kills Baahubali hogged the central stage not just in the first part but it was a crucial scene in the trailer of ‘Baahubali 2’ as well. In fact, ‘Why Kattappa Killed Baahubali’ is one of the pivotal crowd pulling factors for Baahubali 2 besides the outstanding visuals and elevation scenes. So, how much effort exactly went into carving out that scene?

During a chat with the film’s Award-winning Art Director, Sabu Cyril, he revealed what went into the making of that iconic scene. He revealed that the location where the scene was filmed was the result of painstaking labour because the originally chosen location became unsuitable.

“The scene where Katappa kills Baahubali was originally supposed to be filmed in the Chambal valley in the North. But, just one month before we go for the shoot, we found that the entire barren land had become green as a result of rains. We had to find an alternate location and it was then we chose a quarry near Hyderabad. We however had to convert it into the kind of zone we wanted. It took 45 days of painstaking labour to construct the set,” Cyril recollected.

“The quarry area had to be filled with 100 truckloads of mud and we had to literally construct roads. To give it the look we wanted, we even transported trees from Rajasthan and made around 30 replicas of those trees in fiberglass, to be fixed on the set. Every rock in that scene was of 60 ft height and all of them had to be painted with a reddish tinge for the effect we wanted in the shots. Over 200 people worked night and day in my department alone,” he added.

The effort of the team surely paid high reward as the scene became one of the most unforgettable ones in the history of Indian cinema.

The introduction song of Pawan Kalyan in Katamarayudu has a big canvas featuring as many as 300 dancers, 100 Sardarjis, 100 pehelwans. This is not all. The elaborately shot song also features school kids and old people who are very close to Pawan’s heart. Apparently, Pawan had a great time while shooting for school kids and old people.

Pawan, who is a true nature lover and a farmer by himself, is seen holding farmer’s plough in the song. The song was shot over six days and it’s shot at a village called Anjapur in the outskirts of Hyderabad. Since Kalyan is a great nature lover, the song is filmed amidst nature and trees.

The entire span of the song was so huge that cinematographer Prasad Murella (also worked for Attarintiki Daredi) had to use drone cameras to get the aerial footage.

Pawan made sure that he wore Khadi and in the entire song and most part of the film (except romantic songs shot in Italy), Pawan would be seen wearing Khadi. In Italy, two songs were shot on Pawan Kalyan and Shruti Haasan. While one was shot in the vicinity of a castle, the other was shot in hills with streams flowing in the backdrop.

Italy locations are going to be picturesque and the romantic songs shot over there are eye candy. Cinematographer Prasad assures that Katamarayudu is going to be a visual treat.

Sharwanand’s Radha had been in news that it’d be slugging it out with Pawan Kalyan’s most awaited Katamarayudu. After making a lot of noise, finally, the makers of Radha have decided to defer the film’s release.

The film, which was planned for March 29 release for Ugadi, has been postponed and according to sources close to producer BVSN Prasad, the film now is slated for May 2nd week release. While the reasons for the postponement are not known, tentatively, the film is aiming for May 12 release. This is expected to be a huge advantage for Pawan’s Katamarayudu that will have a solo release for Ugadi festival.

Of late, Sharwanand is on a success spree. His last film Shatamanam Bhavati too turned out to be a money spinner at the Box Office. Naturally, there’s good buzz on his next Radha. Sharwa is donning a Khaki in the film and the film’s first look and teaser have already drawn good response.

BVSN Prasad, who is going through a lean phase, is expecting to make a comeback with Radha. Prasad’s last film Intlo Dayyam Nakem Bhayyam bitten the dust at the BO in no time. The Allari Naresh’s film failed to meet the expectations. Prasad is now pinning hopes on Sharwa.

The submission of report by the Andhra Pradesh assembly privileges committee to Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao on Thursday recommending suspension of YSR Congress party MLA R K Roja for one more year has led to criticism and counter-criticism in the assembly lobbies.

The YSR Congress party MLAs recalled that while Roja was made the scapegoat in the entire episode, the TDP leaders who abused her got away without any punishment.

They pointed out that TDP legislator Bonda Umamaheshwara Rao called her “Roja aunty” in an attempt to heckle her.

When media persons asked Bonda about the same, Bonda defended himself saying what he said was not an unparliamentary word.

“Aunty is a respectable word and not an expletive. In fact, the word aunty aptly suits Roja. If she has any objections, she should raise a protest in the House and not abuse a Dalit MLA,” the TDP MLA said.

BJP legislator Vishnu Kumar Raju defended Bonda and said in fact, the TDP MLA had given promotion to Roja.

“It is not at all an issue. Any woman who grows in age can be called an aunty. Even Roja can call Bonda grandfather or even a bachcha. I am also growing old and have already become grandfather. Why should I get offended if somebody calls me grandfather?” he asked.

Prez Elections: No Chance For Ramoji?

brainless-linkup-ramojirao-647x450

There were speculations doing rounds in the media circles in New Delhi that media baron and Eenadu group chairman Ch Ramoji Rao might be picked up by the Narendra Modi government for the coveted President of India post.

Present President Pranab Mukherjee will complete his term in a couple of months and the election notification has to be issued in April.

Soon after the completion of the Uttar Pradesh elections in which the BJP won with tremendous majority, there was a talk in New Delhi that Modi was considering Ramoji’s name.

In fact, Eenadu gave an unprecedented coverage to Modi’s victory in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand elections and the Ramoji office had sent the clippings to Prime Minister’s office.

As if to dash off Ramoji’s hopes, Andhra Jyothy has written a big article on Thursday, stating that Modi has decided to make veteran BJP leader L K Advani as the next President of India as part of “Guru Dakshina.”

Since there is no chance of Advani becoming the Prime Minister, the best way for him to retire in politics is to become the President of India and Modi wants to show his respect towards the veteran by offering this post.

Now, this is bad news for Ramoji, if at all he has any hopes of becoming the President of India at the fag end of his life. In any case, Advani is always a better choice for the post!

None of the passengers waiting at a railway station in New York might have expected that what looked like a slow motion visual wonder from a big budget Hollywood film would cast a small scale catastrophe on them.

A video is currently going viral on social media where an Amtrak train at a New York railway station is seen flooding the passengers waiting on the platform with snow that was ploughed from the tracks.

Ever since Snowstorm Stella hit northeast United States on Tuesday, it covered many parts of the state in blanket of snow. Transportation at a few places was severely affected.

In this video, as the train was arriving, the snow which entirely covered the tracks started flying everywhere like a VFX scene from a Hollywood film. Several passengers standing on the platform were almost buried under the snow. Thankfully, no one sustained severe injuries.

Judge Stops Trump's Orders Again

Share

trump

United States President Donald Trump, who’s extreme with his moves, has yet again received a huge blow from American judge who ordered a stay on his revived travel ban too.

Now that all eyes are on Trump’s new executive order, which was scheduled to come into effect in few more hours, to ban travelers from six Muslim-populated countries, the district court of Hawaii issued a judicial order to stop the blockage of immigrants at US airports.

The temporary travel ban impended on six countries like Iran, Libya, Syria, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen for next 90 days, was not just stopped by Judge Derrick Watson but he also launched a severe criticism on president for violating the establishment clause of nation constitution which prohibits discrimination against any religion.

Because of this new pronouncement, the authorities at American airports will allow passengers and tourist travelers from the banned countries too. The streamlined version of executive order also included permanent ban of Muslims from Syria. Like how Trump received a setback during first order, this move also is also a striking chord at his presidential powers.

So, it remains to be how the businessman-turned-politico will look into this judicial pronouncement and whether he will strike back with a new executive orders.

Mumbai: Actress-turned-producer Anushka Sharma says she never faced any nepotism though she comes from a non-film background and that in Bollywood people always encourage talents.

Asked if she was also a victim of nepotism in Bollywood while talking to media on Wednesday evening with the star cast of her forthcoming film “Phillauri”, Anushka said: “First of all, every actor has her own journey in Bollywood. Moreover, if you are good at your work, people will show interest to collaborate with you, irrespective of your background.”

Roja Suspension May Continue For 1 More Year

Amaravati: The Privileges Committee of the Andhra Pradesh assembly has recommended suspension of opposition legislator R.K. Roja from the house for one year for her allegedly abusing another woman member.

The panel on Thursday submitted its report, recommending the action against actor-turned-politician of the opposition YSR Congress Party.

It was in December 2015, that Roja was suspended from the assembly for a year by Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao for obstructing the proceedings of the house and for allegedly making derogatory remarks against Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

In March 2016, a judge of the Hyderabad High Court put her suspension from the assembly on the hold. The legislature secretary then challenged the division bench’s ruling to put on hold the legislature’s action.

Roja attended the budget session, which began on March 6, the first session after the Andhra Pradesh assembly was shifted from Hyderabad to Amaravati, the state’s new capital. She, however, stayed away on Thursday.

As ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) legislator V. Anita alleged that Roja had abused her in the house, the Speaker had referred the matter to the privileges committee.

The four-member panel headed by G. Suryarao comprised all TDP members, including actor-politician N. Balakrishna.

The committee three times summoned Roja to appear before it but she did not. The panel in March 2016 submitted its report, recommending her suspension for one year.

The Speaker, however, decided to give Roja another opportunity to appear before the panel.

The committee, in its latest report, said Roja neither appeared before it nor apologised for her behaviour in the house.

It left the final decision to the Speaker to suspend the member for one more year.

Leader of Opposition and YSR Congress chief Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy has already stated that his party will move the court if fresh disciplinary action is initiated against Roja.

He also assured movie-goers that part two will be as good as part one – 2015’s Baahubali: The Beginning – was.

“I am 100 percent sure that the second part will live up to all the expectations people have on this movie,” he said.

In Baahubali: The Conclusion, Prabhas stars in dual roles – both as Mahendra Baahubali and his father Amarendra Baahubali.

Another Incident That Shows Dictator Jagan!

Share

jagan

Opposition leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has lost his cool today in the AP Legislative Assembly when Speaker Kodela Siva Prasad Rao asked Jagan to conclude his speech as the time – 55 minutes – allotted to him was over and it’s already crossed 60 minutes.

Reacting to it seriously, visibly angry YS Jagan reiterated that he’ll assume the power next time. Hinting that he’d be the next chief minister and Chandrababu would be Opposition leader, Jagan said that he’ll see to it that Chandrababu Naidu will not get time to speak in future. Jagan alleged that he’s being constantly obstructed while he was speaking in the house. He threatened to to the same in the future.

While YSR Congress MLAs expressed their support to Jagan’s comments, TDP legislators opposed Jagan’s comments.

Responding to Jagan’s comments, Speaker Kodela told Jagan, “You can’t dictate the house.”

While Speaker is the controller of house and its proceedings, Jagan dragging Chandrababu Naidu into the issue and adding political colour to the whole issue has invited criticism.

Senior Tamil hero Sharatkumar, who is making his comeback to Telugu cinema with Sairam Shankar’s ‘Nenorakam’, revealed that Megastar Chiranjeevi refused to give him a chance in Khaidi No.150.

Before making big in Tamil cinema, Sharatkumar started his career with a Telugu film in 1986. He played villain roles and supporting characters in many direct Telugu films including playing the elder brother of Chiru in ‘Gang Leader’.

The trailer of the most awaited movie of the year, possibly the movie of the century, ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’ has been creating havoc on social media ever since it was unveiled this morning.

The official trailer has been released in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam languages. The Telugu version has crossed 7.6M views and 320K likes whereas the Hindi trailer has amassed 3.6M views and 137K+ likes in less than 7 hours. This record would look even more gigantic when it was compared with the earlier record holder, Kabali teaser with 5M views in 24 hours. If that was a record, what would one call 12M views in 7 hours, the ‘Father of Records’!!

The Telugu trailer has already set the record for most liked trailer in South India. The number of views and likes is increasing at rapid pace and expect many more records to tumble by the end of the day.

All the national as well as vernacular media houses and many celebs have lauded the trailer and Rajamouli’s epic vision. The grandeur in visuals, emotions, elevation scenes, background music.. the 2 minutes and 25 seconds trailer is packed with everything that a film buff could die for to watch on silver screen.

April 28 has now become the most awaited date of the year.
