Now that the union cabinet has approved financial assistance to Polavaram project in AP, the Telangana state legislative council on Wednesday witnessed an interesting discussion between Congress MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy and Telangana Chief Minister KCR.

Speaking in the house, the Congress party member demanded the state government to take back the four submerged villages that were included in AP as promulgated in ordinance. ‘Since AP doesn’t require those villages, let’s work together to bring them under Telangana state,’ said Mr. Reddy.

Answering to Sudhakar Reddy, CM KCR said, ‘after learning about the villages included in AP through ordinance bill will not get affected by Polavaram project, I have taken up the issue with Andhra Chief Minister and he too have responded quite positively.’ KCR also unveiled that he and Babu will put forward the issue with centre and seek their help for quick resolution.

It was in July 2014, Parliament passed an ordinance bill to transfer around 205 villages spread across 7 mandals in Bhadracharam, Khammam to Andhra Pradesh as part of rehabilitation and resettlement program of Polavaram project.

'Pawan sits & stands on Babu's orders'

In what can be called as rare attack on Pawan Kalyan, Andhra Pradesh opposition leader Jagan Mohan Reddy today accused him of being a political puppet of CM Chandrababu Naidu. Speaking to media on Wednesday evening, the leader of opposition also gave a hint that his party is ready to collaborate with anyone who works to fight against Andhra Pradesh CM.

‘Not just Pawan Kalyan, we will heart-fully welcome anybody who joins us in fighting Chandrababu and his anti-development activities,’ said Jagan Reddy while describing Pawan Kalyan’s current position as ‘he is sitting and standing as per Babu’s orders.’

Although several leaders of YSR Congress Party took a swipe at Pawan Kalyan and Jana Sena in the past, Jagan had never been so hard on the actor-turned-politician. But, this time, he doesn’t seem to be in a mood to spare him as well.

Pawan Kalyan has repeatedly voiced out his confidence in Babu’s experience to develop the newly formed state and during the 2014 poll campaign, he praised Babu as an able leader under current circumstances – post bifurcation.

Etihad Airways Couldn't Find Indian Passengers

It looks like no one in India are really planning to take a travel in premium cabin and first class on Etihad Airways – which flies between Mumbai and Abu Dhabi. We had to reach this conclusion after the Airways’ decided to stop it’s service from July 1, 2017.

In May 2016, Etihad Airways started it’s Airbus A380, world’s largest passenger airline service, between India’s biggest business city Mumbai and Abu Dhabi. Since then, the Etihad plane invited a lot of attention, all thanks to lavish and excellent amenities available inside it.

The most-talked aircraft seats 496 passengers which include the Residence, a three room private cabin, in addition to First, business and economy classes.

A ticket from Mumbai to Abu Dhabi for up to two passengers in The Residence was sold for around INR 7 lakh, as a part of it’s launch offer; which is relatively very high for other cities like London and New York priced at over INR 35 lakh and INR 50 lakh, respectively.

Despite the fact that it offered low price, very few from India have preferred to travel in The Residence and first class, which made Etihad group to withdraw A380 plane to Indian and operate in Abu Dhabi- Paris route during the peak summer travel months.

Effective from July 1 until October 28, 2017, Etihad airways will operate A340 flights between Abu Dhabi and Mumbai in place of A380 aircraft. But the Airways had a different story to it. According to them, the aircraft is being withdrawn temporarily as part of it’s seasonal adjustments.

Akhila Priya Opens Up on Bhuma's Ministry

Ever since Andhra Pradesh opposition YSR Congress party put forward the allegation that late leader Bhuma Nagi Reddy died because of betrayal by Telugu Desham chief, its president Jagan Mohan Reddy is attracting severe criticism from all quarters.

The Kurnool leader and MLA from Nandyal constituency is considered as one of the most prominent faces in Rayalaseema. He and his daughter Akhila Priya had left the YSRCP last year and joined TDP. Since then, a circulation has been largely underway that one of them would be given ministerial post in AP cabinet.

On Tuesday morning, YSRCP boycotted the state assembly session wherein the ruling presented condolence motion for Bhuma Nagi Reddy. Citing that ‘Babu’s cheating politics have caused depression in Bhuma and it’s led to his death’, YSRCP has played a big drama and skipped paying homage to Nagi Reddy.

Clarifying on their allegations, Allagadda MLA Akhila Priya today spoke to media and said ‘we haven’t switched our loyalties for the sake of cabinet position but for the development of Nandyal and Alladagga. My father’s dream was to build 10,000 houses for poor and lay four line roads in Nandyal.’

When the media folk asked about YSRCP’s walk out, Akhila Priya stated, ‘there absence will cause no difference to us.’ She also said, ‘I feel sad when kind of respect Jagan reciprocated for my parents, who dedicatedly worked for his YSRCP’ and she remembered how her mother used to stay away from them to meet Jagan Reddy in jail.

Also, it is now in the news that Telugu Desham party is contemplating the idea of honoring the young Akhila Priya with cabinet berth after the ongoing budget session.

Sr Journalist Comments On Bhuma, Shocks All

Late TDP leader Bhuma Nagi Reddy was an influential leader in state politics but not much about him was known to people until his death recently. Now, a senior journalist has surprised everyone by making some shocking revelations about the late politician.

Senior journalist and political analyst Inaganti Venkata Rao, popularly known as IVR, compared Bhuma’s character with late chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s. He said that Bhuma had as a big heart as YSR’s and that he was very kind and supportive to the people close to him.

‘They both have come from faction background but the similarity doesn’t stop there. Just like YSR, Bhuma had loyal followers whom he earned with his benevolence. He was the go to man for people in trouble,’ said IVR.

He added that Bhuma’s good image in political circles was overshadowed by his wife Shobha Nagi Reddy’s spotless image.

Who Will Be Pawan's Partners In Telangana?

Power star Pawan Kalyan has finally made his intentions clear that he is going to contest the 2019 elections. He also declared that he is going to start building up his Jana Sena Party from June this year.

Going by the present indications, Pawan Kalyan might go alone in the next elections in Andhra Pradesh.

He has been attacking the Bharatiya Janata Party on various issues including the special category status to Andhra Pradesh.

Though he is a little softer towards Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu, he might not join hands with the TDP as it has alliance with the BJP.

And there is no question of Jana Sena Party associating with the YSR Congress party, too, as Pawan does not like to play second fiddle to Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and the latter, too, does not entertain leaders with independent thinking and ideology. So, Pawan has to test his political fortunes all alone in 2019.

But in Telangana, Pawan Kalyan may have to have alliance with the other parties, as there are no takers for him because of his strong opposition to bifurcation. Still, he announced that he would contest the elections in Telangana, too. To test his strength, he wants to hold a massive public meeting at Sangareddy shortly.

It is learnt former Sangareddy MLA Turpu Jayaprakash Reddy alias Jagga Reddy is likely to extend support to him.

Jagga Reddy is a big fan of Pawan Kalyan and in the past, too, the power star praised the former Congress MLA for his boldness.

A couple of months ago, Jagga Reddy met Pawan Kalyan on the sets of Katamarayudu and extended his support to the latter’s agitation for special status to Andhra Pradesh.

In the coming days, Pawan may take the support of individuals like Jagga Reddy. And in case, Telangana JAC led by Kodandaram also jumps into poll pray, Pawan may join hands with it to fight the elections!

Naidu Upset With Five-State Assembly Polls!

Share

babu-3-1

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu might have been the first chief minister to congratulate Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the thumping victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand assembly elections, but heart-in-hearts, he is said to be very much worried.

Naidu and his think tank are understood to have analysed the election results in five states and came to the conclusion that the outcome is not a good sign for the TDP.

First, there is a clear indication of strong anti-incumbency wave in all the five states. More than the people’s support for Modi, it was the anti-incumbency factor that worked in UP as the people were not happy with the Samajwadi Party regime.

Same is the case with Uttarakhand, Punjab and Goa. In Manipur, too, there was anti-incumbency wave, but it was not so strong but it had reduced the number of seats of the Congress to a large extent and it ultimately lost power to the BJP.

So, a similar anti-incumbency factor would definitely work in Andhra Pradesh, too, unless Naidu steps up his government’s performance and Jagan miserably fails as the opposition leader.

Secondly, the strengthening of the BJP at the Centre and in the north does not augur well for the TDP, as it may start ignoring its NDA allies.

Already, the TDP suffered a lot due to denial of special category status to AP and dodging of cabinet approval to the special package.

The Centre is also not releasing enough funds to the capital and grossly ignored the demand for a railway zone in Visakhapatnam.

The funds for Polavaram are also not coming in adequately, putting pressure on Naidu. Following the election results, the BJP would completely sideline the TDP and try to strengthen itself in AP. This will prove negative for the TDP in the 2019 elections.

Actor Raj Tarun’s cameo in upcoming Tamil-Telugu horror-thriller “Balloon” will be very significant from the story’s perspective and won’t be a blink-and-you-miss kind of role, says director Sinish.

“The film will have a simultaneous release in Telugu. For the Tamil version, we have enough familiar faces in the cast. However, we needed someone for Telugu audiences to root for. Hence, we went with Raj Tarun,” Sinish told IANS.

The film will mark Raj Tarun’s Tamil film debut.

Talking about his character, Sinish said: “It’s a very significant role. Even though it’s a cameo, he will appear in a very important sequence. He plays a role on par with the film’s lead cast. Tarun will be part of the film’s Tamil as well Telugu version.”

On working with the “Uyyala Jampala” actor, Sinish said that he was very “sweet” and “cooperative”.

The film, which has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, also stars Jai, Anjali and Janani Iyer.

Boyapati Brings Hot MLA for Special Song

Mass director Boyapati Sreenu seems to be leaving no stone unturned to make his under-production film starring Bellamkonda Srinivas a crazy one.

After roping in top actress Rakul Preet Singh as the leading lady and happening beauty Pragya Jaiswal as the second lead, Boyapati has upped the glam quotient of his action entertainer by signing hot actress Catherine Tresa for a special song.

It is known that Catherine played the character of an MLA in Boyapati’s last film, ‘Sarrainodu’. Catherine reportedly couldn’t say no for this special song given her rapport with the mass director and the hefty amount in offering. This song will reportedly be shot in a lavish set. Catherine’s oomph is expected to be a big crowd puller when the film releases.

It may be noted that Catherine was earlier supposed to do an item song in Megastar’s ‘Khaidi No.150’. She however was replaced with Raai Laxmi after she had an altercation with a crucial unit member.

The disappointed fans of Catherine will finally see the hot lady setting the screen on fire on Boyapati’s canvas.

Mishty Chakraborthy, Sreemukhi, Tejaswi and Suriya Aysola are playing the key women in Avasarala’s life with Supriya’s character being the boldest among all. Both Sreemukhi and Tejaswi seem to have done their share of naughty acts with Avasarala in the movie.

Convincing Pawan Kalyan to attend a promotional event of his films is no less than a monumental task. However, Sharat Marar, the producer of Katamarayudu, has reportedly not just planned a mere pre-release event but has a big surprise in store for mega fans at the event to be held on 18th March in Hyderabad.

It is known that Pawan completed 2 decades in film industry last October. Any other actor would have acknowledged such a monumental feat with at least minimal celebrations but Pawan on the other hand was so absorbed in his filmy and political endeavors that he might not have even realized the special day. His ardent fans however celebrated the occasion.

Sharat Marar has reportedly got the idea of conducting a celebratory event of Pawan’s completion of 2 decades in film industry coinciding with the pre-release event of Katamarayudu. Hence, the supposed small event will now be held on a grand scale.

Whatmore, all the mega heroes have reportedly received the invitations to be part of this event to congratulate Pawan and wish him for Katamarayudu. It is known that Chiru attended the audio launch of Sardaar, will he attend this event as well? Will Bunny make an appearance and appease fans of Pawan?

The pre-release event will truly embrace the color of festival if Megastar, Pawan, Charan and Bunny share the dais along with the young crop of mega family heroes. How big a surprise this event will depend on how many of the mega heroes will be in attendance.

Powestar Pawan Kalyan’s Katamarayudu completed its censor formalities on Wednesday and was granted a clean ‘U’ certificate. The actioner will have a grand worldwide release on 24th March.

The unit is highly confident of the film scoring a blockbuster at box office. Distributors have also shelled out astronomical sums on the film after witnessing the historical response for the film’s teaser. The successful pairing of Pawan and Shruti Haasan is another positive factor.

#Budget2017: Telangana is Rich, AP Still Poor!

Share

apts

Financial crisis is still haunting the residual state of Andhra Pradesh while the Telangana state is going ahead strengthening its economy.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’ government has projected Rs 4,500 crore revenue plus in the budget proposals for 2017-18 presented by Finance minister E Rajendar in the Assembly on Monday. The revenue projections are highest ever for TS after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.

KCR claimed his state had achieved 19 percent growth in the tax collection even as the demonetization affected state revenues temporarily. Due to demonetization, the state suffered marginal loss in revenues because of slowdown in land sales.

AP’s Budget 2017-18 that was presented by Finance minister Y Ramakrishnudu gave indication that revenue deficit will still be around 4,600 crore and the state was yet to recover from the revenue deficit after the division. However, the TDP govt. succeeded in reducing revenue deficit from Rs 15,000 crore to Rs 5000 crore this year.

The total budget outlay of AP has been proposed at Rs 1.56 lakh crore whereas the outlay of Telangana was Rs1.49 lakh crore for the new financial year 2017-18 beginning April one in two states.

Just Contest Or Plan To Grab Stories!!

Share

Rather announcing directly that they are short of stories, these days our star heroes and also directors found some interesting way to get ideas. And this ‘idea’ is so terrific that young and aspiring filmmakers are rushing to them in a bid to get their attention. But what’s happening later is something different.

Of late we are hearing many star directors and heroes conducting some ‘Short Film Contests’ just to encourage talents. After a star Telugu director conducted one such contest in association with a TV channel, none knows what happened to the final winner or the result itself. Similarly, hero Danush also announced about such contest on YouTube through a special app. None knows about the results. Latest to join the bandwagon is hero Surya who announced similar short film contest with a cash prize as well.

Though it looks from a larger perspective that these heroes are really encouraging talents, some cinema lovers do say that they are just using this bait to get to know some interesting story ideas. As all the above said heroes and filmmakers are stuck with making routine stuff these days, these Short Film Contests are surely going to help.

However, fans of these stars do claim that genuinely their favourite celebs are encouraging talented young filmmakers. Hope there is no question of exploitation and it’s only exploration.

Dry ATMs Frustrate Hyderabadis

Share

atm

Frustration of Hyderabad people is growing with each passing day as the city has been facing a severe cash crunch over the past two weeks, with several ATMs running dry.

Reportedly, almost all of the ATMs in heart of the city, localities like Panjagutta, Ameerpet, Banjara Hills and Jubilee hills, Kukatpally were either displaying ‘out of order’ boards or had their shutters pulled down, needless to say the situation in other localities. On the other hand, long queues are being reported at banks to withdraw cash.

A few violent incidents were reported yesterday where people resorted to vandalism at ATMs out of severe frustration. It may be noted that the govt. has just the other day lifted all the withdrawal limits. ‘Withdrawal limit exists or not, it doesn’t make any difference when there is no cash in ATMs,’ said an angry youth.

The reason for the sudden cash crunch in the city is not known but experts opined that the diversion of cash to the states where polls were being held could be the prime reason.

Foreign Clothes For Local Heroes? Pchh

Share

Untitled

If it silver screen, then the vibrance and beauty of clothes are very important as they present the lead actors in the best possible striking manner. Especially in songs, these stars should look terrific to strike a chord with their fans.

Gone are the days where ‘costumers’ design special clothes for hero and heroine. These days also they do, but they do it only for a song or two. For rest of the songs, we have ‘Fashion Designers’ these days picking international branded clothes for the lead pair. For other scenes throughout the film, they are picking clothes from these brands only. And that’s where our designers forget to go importance to aesthetic needs.

For example, if we take the protagonist of an energetic hero’s movie, we have him playing the role of an orphan who later confirms that he’s the son of a middle-class father. What stuns everyone is that he wears Superdry brand clothes most of the time. With t-shirts priced at more than 4000 rupees, was that a middle class look the designer has imparted to him?

Same is the case with a star family heir, where he’s seen wearing imported leather Jackets and other jeans pants that are shopped in Hong Kong. Each jacket has cost more than a lakh as per the finding. Though he played a corrupt Sub-Inspector of police, will he flaunt that wealth way?

Even a top notch star who has sported Khadi throughout the film used some imported leather jackets and jeans for songs that are shot in picturesque locales of Europe.

Of course, we have to agree that these heroes should look vibrant and handsome with their costumes but the designers should be sticking to character design and it’s financial backdrop too. Then only, our commercial films will look like a reality.
