Rakul's Statement Hurting Heroes Fans
Other day heroine Rakul Preet has gone to Tirumala through walkway as she scaled the sacred mountains along with Lakshmi Manchu and her husband Anand. But before praying to the great Lord for giving her such a wonderful career, she has given a striking statement, which is hurting cinema lovers now.
Couple of days back in a print media interview, this hottie shared that for the first time ever in her career she got a chance to star in a role on-par with the hero’s role. “In Rarandoi Veduka Chooddam, I’ve a role that is equal to Naga Chaitanya’s role and I’m loving it. Unlike just an addition to the cast, the story revolves around my character. I’m happy for that as never I got such chance all these days” she said, in the interview.
That may be true but when most films are written with a hero in the mind, definitely heroines do get only a small portion. But fans say that after raising to stardom and becoming part of hit films of our heroes, how can she now say that she’s given only small roles.
“These days actresses rise to superstardom and then they talk about nepotism, casting-couch, pay gap and gender bias in the film industry. They don’t speak about it when they started their career because they want to play safe game then. If they think this way, why a producer investing crores should not play safe game by giving more selling points to the hero and giving a minimum role to heroine?” a cinema lover asked.
Mixed Response for Spyder First Look?
After a very long wait – nearly one year after Mahesh23 started its shoot, the first look of Mahesh Babu from his ongoing Spyder has been unveiled on April 12, 2017. Truth be told, the first look and the motion poster of the film have received a mixed response from critics and fans alike. Cutting across the ages and regions, many have taken to social media to express their response over the first look. Going by it, it’s mostly the mixed response.
While a few have expressed that Mahesh’s looks in the first appearances are more or less resembling to his looks in One-Nenokkadine, many others say that the first look isn’t on par with the huge expectations that were build on the collaboration of Mahesh Babu and AR Murugudoss.
In addition to the look, even the title seems to be drawing a mixed reaction as many have their own apprehensions on how it’d be received. While it’s too early to arrive at a conclusion, however, film buffs and fans of Mahesh are certainly anxious on the film’s fate. As Mahesh is also testing its luck in Tamil, fans have their own apprehensions.
MLA Stands In Queue To Have Subsidy Meal!
Poor people who were standing in queue at the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation counter at Banjara Hills Road No. 12 near Jagannath temple adjacent to Telangana Bhavan to buy their regular subsidised Rs 5 a meal, were surprised to see a VIP amongst them on Wednesday afternoon.
The VIP was an MLA belonging to YSR Congress party representing Mangalagiri constituency in Guntur district Alla Ramakrishna Reddy.
He came on motorbike and joined the queue at the GHMC Rs 5 a meal counter braving scorching summer heat.
Though nobody could identify him as he is an Andhra MLA, some reporters who were passing by noticed him and made enquiries as to why he was standing there.
Ramakrishna Reddy, who managed to get the token and have a full meal on the road itself, told the media that he was very much impressed by the subsidised meal scheme being implemented by the Telangana government.
“This will help poor workers and small time employees very much. The food is tasty as well. I feel such a scheme should be implemented in Andhra Pradesh as well by the TDP government,” he said.
Reddy further said if the AP government did not come forward to implement the scheme, he would take the initiative and implement the scheme at least in his Mangalagiri constituency by spending money from his own pocket.
Well, it is leaders like Ramakrishna Reddy who make the difference in politics. No wonder, they win the elections quite easily!
Nandyala By-election Has Become Hot Topic
The upcoming by-election in Nandyala constituency in Kurnool district has become a hot topic in the district’s political circles.
By-election has become imminent in Nandyala following the death of TDP MLA Bhuma Nagi Reddy. Amidst the speculations that a Bhuma family member will only get the party ticket to contest in the by-election, ex-MLA Shilpa Mohan Reddy is reportedly demanding the party high command to give him the ticket. He is contemplating to contest on either YCP ticket or as an independent candidate if TDP doesn’t offer him ticket.
On the other hand, TDP senior leader Md Farooq is also rumored to be a probable candidate. He is ready to contest if party asks him to do so otherwise he is of the opinion that a Bhuma family member should be given the ticket.
What TDP leadership will do to pacify its ticket-aspiring leaders and also win the election is generating high level of curiosity.
Krish Sent Chiru's Team To London
Megastar Chiranjeevi is currently prepping up for his titular role as “Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy” in the upcoming 151st film of him. Cut to some insider information, we hear that director Krish has influenced the team of this iconic movie a lot.
Actually, when Krish researched for the character of Gautamiputra Satakarni, he hasn’t found enough information here in India. But at museums in London, he got access to various archives as Britishers have long back taken all of our valuable manuscripts to their place. Whether it is about 1st-century king Satakarni or 19th-century freedom fighter Uyyalawada, there is not much information present here in Indian books and Telugu universities.
Post preparing the story of Uyyalawada for the celluloid, writers Paruchuri Brothers and director Surender Reddy have got the idea to check for more stories about the Rayalsemma region’s rebel. We hear that they have found some date at Natural History Museum’s South India related wing in London, UK. Basing on those inputs, they are now said to be making some changes to the script.
Well, it’s an appreciable thing in the first place that senior heroes of Tollywood are digging into the Telugu history and presenting unknown stories to the world. Maybe other star heroes should also bring back our golden history to life through films in this way.
Vangaveeti : Radha Moves HC
YSR Congress Party leader Vangaveeti Radha has filed a petition in the High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states accusing filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma of defaming his family in his film “Vangaveeti” that released in December 2016.
Radha in his petition alleged that the film was made on his family without his approval and further alleged that the film had shown his family in “bad light”. He accused that director Ram Gopal Varma has belittled his family and alleged that there were “no facts” in the film.
Speaking to media after filing the petition, Radha said that the matter is in court and he would proceed legally. Radha also stated that he would not leave the matter and he would fight till the justice is delivered. He also alleged that RGV tried to portary his father Vangaveeti Ranga as a “rowdy” by overplay of violence against to Ranga’s natural character.
Radha’s lawyer further added that RGV’s TV interviews and opinions have been provided as the evidence to the court and also submitted the list of objections against Radha in the film. The lawyer alleged that the film is made to cash in on Ranga’s popularity and accused of showing “lies”.
The judge has asked the petitioners to submit a copy of previous police complaint made by him on Thursday and basis on that, judge is likely to take the further course of action. Director Ram Gopal Varma, producer Dasari Kiran Kumar and co-producer Sudheer Chandra have been named as the respondents in the petition by the petitioner.
'No Effect of H-1B Visa Row on Indian Students'
Indian students, who might be thinking of scrapping their American dreams in the wake of the H-1B visa reforms, should not worry.
An Indian-origin CEO, who is president of a Michigan-based top technological university, said that foreign students, especially Indians, are still in demand by top American enterprises notwithstanding the changes to H-1B visa norms.
He added that presidents of the top US universities have assured international students that there will be no impact on their chances of getting jobs in America after finishing their studies.
Noted American firms are keen to hire Indian students because they are talented as well as hardworking. They are still sought after by the American firms across disciplines irrespective of the Trump govt’s reforms in order to reserve jobs for locals.
Petrol, Diesel Prices to Change Daily
Starting from May 1, petrol and diesel prices will be revised every day in accordance with the changes in international oil prices and rupee-dollar fluctuations.
State-owned fuel retailers Indian Oil Corp (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corp Ltd (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corp Ltd (HPCL), which together own over 95 per cent market in India, will launch a pilot project for daily price revision in five select cities – Puducherry, Vizag in Andhra Pradesh, Udaipur in Rajasthan, Jamshedpur in Jharkhand and Chandigarh from May 1. After carefully studying the implications, this will be gradually implemented all over the country.
At present, state fuel retailers revise prices on 1st and 16th of every month according to the average international price of the fuel in international market and currency exchange rate. Daily price change will remove the sudden surges in rates and consumers will be more aligned to market dynamics.
First Look: Mahesh In And As 'Spyder'
The wait of Superstar Mahesh Babu’s fans across the world is finally over as the title and first look of his upcoming film have been officially unveiled.
Directed by AR Murugadoss, the action thriller is titled SPYder. Same title has reportedly been finalized for both the Telugu and Tamil versions. First three letters in the title SPY confirms that Mahesh is essaying the role of a spy.
While one poster has Mahesh in intense mood, the second one has a sophisticated, never-aging Mahesh at his stylish best. On the whole, the catchy title logo and Mahesh’s look will surely satiate his fans. The background score in the motion poster is also captivating.
Film’s teaser is expected by this month end and the movie will hit screens on June 23.
NTR Stopped Kalyanram From Acting
It has been six months since the release of Kalyanram Nandamuri’s ‘Ism’ and the actor is yet to start his next film. Several directors have reportedly approached him with exciting stories but the Nandamuri hero hasn’t given his nod. Part of this delay may be due to his flop streak but there is another reason as well.
It is known that NTR’s new film ‘Jai Lava Kusa’ is being bankrolled by Kalyanram under NTR Arts banner. It is heard that the ‘Pataas’ actor-producer has decided not to take his new film onto floors until he is completely done with NTR’s film. He seems to have taken #NTR27 prestigious.
When Kalyanram’s production venture ‘Kick 2’ starring Ravi Teja was on sets in 2015, he was simultaneously busy with the shooting of ‘Sher’. In the end, both the films flopped at box office. He may have learnt a lesson from this experience and hence decided to oversee each and every production related aspect in the case of Jai Lava Kusa, which is also the highest budgeted film to have been made on NTR Arts banner.
So, Kalyanram’s new film will go on floors only towards this year end. Interim, the shooting of Jai Lava Kusa is currently taking place in Hyderabad. Makes are targeting August/September release.

A picture from the sets of Tiger Zinda Hai is currently going viral. It has Austrian hottie Ronja Forcher posing alongside Salman Khan. It is not sure what role she’ll be playing in the movie, but what we can tell is Forcher is a 21-year-old model, who featured on the Playboy magazine cover for April 2017.
It is known that Playboy is infamous for featuring extremely hot models from around the world in nude avatar. So, as soon as the Indian movie lovers found the picture of Forcher and Salman together, they started frantically searching for her Playboy pictures. It must be admitted that she is quite a sexy woman.
We however have to wait until ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ releases to know what role she essayed in the film. Starring Katrina Kaif in female lead role, the action film is slated to hit screens this December.

Two Super Hits, But No Big Hero Ready?
Especially in Telugu Film Industry, grabbing a “direction” opportunity depends merely on the kind of contacts one has but not by the real talent. Going by the current happenings, we have to say that this is happening.
While a director who makes only stylish films but not commercially viable ones is able to get dates of big heroes like Ram Charan and Mahesh Babu, talented chap like Nakkina Trinadha Rao is not scoring well. After two back to back hits like Raj Tarun’s Cinema Choopista Maava and Nani’s Nenu Local, this director is still struggling to get dates of big heroes. Is he not able to tell a story that could convince our ‘bada’ stars? Or our heroes think he’s fit to direct only 20 crore range heroes but not them?
Finally, Nakkina Trinadha Rao moved to his next and he’s now making a movie with Bellamkonda Srinivas. This young hero is not yet having any big market neither he has proved his mettle as an actor who could carry the film on his shoulders. However, after wrapping Boyapati Sreenu’s movie, Srinivas will move to Trinadha Rao’s project.
After scoring 20 crores hit and 30 crores hit, hope Trinadha Rao scores a 40 crores hit now such that biggies will identify his talents.
