I will quit in minutes if Opposition proves charges: KCR

Share

Hyderabad: Severely censuring the Opposition parties for staging walkout even before completion of Governor’s speech, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has thrown a challenge at the former that he was ready to resign and leave the office within five minutes if the Opposition parties proved that his government was guilty. He also asserted that the House would run as per the rules and regulations and would not succumb to the pressure tactics of the Opposition parties or ruling party.  He also firmly said action would be taken as per rules of the House against any member, who disturbed it.

Addressing the House on extending thanks to Governor’s speech on Saturday, the Chief Minister asked the TDP members whether shouting was needed when the Governor was delivering his speech. Making it clear that the government would be tough if members obstruct the House without provocation, KCR said the Constitution permitted the House to suspend the members who obstructed the House. He opined that the whole world has adopted Parliamentary democracy and there was a need to the Prime Ministers, Chief Ministers, MPs, MLAs to see that they enhance the prestige of the House among the people.

‘Shouting, disturbing House is not Heroism.’
Referring to BJLP leader G Kishan Reddy’s comment that TRS MLAs had done the same in the united Andhra Pradesh Assembly, KCR said then the situation was different from now. “Shouting during the Governor’s speech was not heroism. This sort of stereo type system must be changed”, he said.
Finding fault with the Opposition leaders for inciting the unemployed youth to agitate, KCR asked the Opposition parties what they expected from them. “Power is not permanent to any political party. System matters and not individuals”, he said emotionally. Exhorting the youth not to destroy their future with needless agitation, the Chief Minister reiterated that his government would provide one lakh jobs to the youth. It was not proper for the Opposition members to ridicule the Governor’s speech. The Governor’s speech, in general, was a conceptual one and the Finance Minister will deliver a detailed speech, he added.

Making it clear that the government was ready to run the House for the days the Opposition parties wanted, KCR said they would not keep quiet if the members tried to disturb the House. “The people would punish us if we did wrong by suspending the members from House. Peoples’ Court is ultimate. We will not compromise in running the House as per rules”, he claimed.  The Chief Minister said the government was providing power to the people 9,300MW peak load and the government was ready to provide additionally 1000MW more power if needed. He said that earlier there were ‘power holidays’ for two days in a week but now every day was energy day.

No political corruption in State now
Stating that political corruption was less in the Telangana state when compared with other States in the country, KCR said Congress leaders took lakhs of rupees from Anganwadis to give jobs. “I signed a file yesterday or day before clearing the file of recruitment of 4,000 anganwadis and assigned the job of completing the process to the District Collectors”, he said. It was not proper for the Opposition parties to dub the Mission Kakatiya and Mission Bhagiratha schemes as “Commission Kakathiya and Commission Baghiratha” schemes, he said and made it clear that action would be initiated if the Opposition parties failed to prove their allegations. “Prove or perish. The punishment must if the Opposition parties failed to prove their charges”, he said.

“We achieved Telangana facing severe hardships, and we will not do injustice to the state. Redesigning of projects is not for the sake of me. But the opposition parties are alleging that corruption took place even in redesigning of projects”, he said. Alleging that the Congress party had the history of corruption, KCR made it clear that the governments’ have no right to do injustice to the people. The Prime Minister himself surprised at the 21 percent growth rate of Telangana and said that the Gujarat never crossed 11 percent growth rate, KCR said and wished the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to move forward with the same determination like demonetization of big notes. He said that the state government purchased 2000 MW slot in the Raichur-Sholapur power corridor and said that the government would achieve 10,000 MW power in future to lift the water from Palamuru-Rangareddy, Kaleswaram and Dindi projects. With the provision of water, the rural economic growth would stir up, he said and assured that input subsidy will be given to the farmers affected with the hailstorm.

The Chief Minister said that the government will provide 4 lakh sheep on 75 percent subsidy to the Yadav community and said that the Yadva community would become a strong economic community by achieving Rs.20,000 crore within two and half years. Alleging that the previous Congress and TDP governments never concentrated on Yadav, Fisheries and Goud community, which have 40 lakh population, KCR said that the government would allot Rs.1000 crore to the 70-80 lakh populated MBCs this year. He said that the state government constructed 330 godowns in the state with 21 lakh metric tonnes capacity. There should be no dearth of seed and fertilizers in the state with the construction of godowns, he said.

Requesting TPCC Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy not to curse the youngest Telangana State, KCR said the State government was giving pensions to 36 lakh people. The government constructed 119 residential schools for the BCs as part of KG-to-PG free education scheme. The government constructed residential college in every revenue division. It also constructed 201 minority residential schools across the State, he said and made it clear that his government would give 12 per cent reservation to the Muslims and STs on the lines of Tamil Nadu. He also said that the Sudheer Committee report has come and the BC Commission was touring the districts to take the opinion of the people on it. The state government constructed 2872 km new roads within two-and-a-half years and another 1500 km road would be laid in the near future. He said home guards’ salaries would be increased and their services would be regularized soon.

Cases won’t halt development process
Finding fault with the Congress party for filing cases against regularization of contract lecturers, KCR said the Congress approached the Green Tribunal on technical grounds to obstruct the construction of projects. He alleged that the Congress party inherited united Andhra Pradesh policy of obstructing the development of Telangana. “Cases are mere speed breakers. We will complete the projects and double bed room houses at any cost”, he said. The State government created 21 new districts at one go, he said and urged the people that the TRS government would develop the hard-won Telangana State. The government would also provide one lakh jobs to the youth before 2019 elections, he said and asked the House to extend their support to the Governor’s speech.

BJP's Tsu'NaMo' in UP Shatters Rahul, Akhilesh

Share

The spectacular victory of Narendra Modi and Amit Shah-led Bharatiya Janata Party in Uttar Pradesh assembly polls is seen as a tsu’NaMo’ (tsunami) and Modi’s consolidated grip over ‘new’ BJP. With the party already winning 140 seats and leading in another 177 seats (as per the trends available at around 2 PM ) and going by the trends, the party is expected to breach 300-mark out of 403 seats, political pundits are expressing shock as normally 200 seats are enough to form the government in UP. Naturally, the magnitude of victory is what is raising eyeballs.

Infact, the latest triumph of BJP in UP is bigger than the party’s victory in 1991 at the height of the Ram Janmabhoomi movement. Then in 1991, Kalyan Singh-led BJP had won 221 seats while Janata Dal (JD) stood as second with 96 seats and Congress was third with 46 and BSP had got 12 seats.

This is biggest-ever haul of BJP in UP in the last three decades. And Modi has made it possible even after demonetization of high-value currency notes Rs 1000 and Rs 500 in November.

Incumbent chief minister Akhilesh Yadav-led SP and Rahul Gandhi’s Congress have tied up and contested the elections but they only secured 18 seats and leading in another 38 seats (trends at 2 pm) whereas BSP received death blow with winning 8 seats and leading 16 (trends at 2 pm). Now this is seen as clear domination of Narendra Modi who shattered all the three parties – SP, Congress and BSP.

Superstar Rajnikanth’s daughter Aishwaryaa Dhanush’s Bharatnatyam performance at the United Nations headquarters in New York on the eve of International Women’s Day has received severe criticism from Indian dancers’ community.

Several acclaimed dancers and dance aficionados have taken to social media to vent their anger, calling Aishwaryaa’s performance “pathetic”. They opined that despite lacking expertise, she was given the opportunity to perform on the international dais only because she was Rajni’s daughter.

Acclaimed dancer Anita Ratnam, who is trained in Bharatanatyam, shared a snippet of Aishwaryaa’s dance performance on Facebook and wrote: “This is what bharatanatyam becomes… A caricature and a farce!”.

The video went viral in no time and Aishwaryaa’s performance received flak from dance community. Another dancer reportedly told media, “Her postures and footwork are terrible. She has performed worse than a beginner in Bharatnatyam.

Aishwaryaa, who is a trained dancer in Bharatanatyam, is also the UN Goodwill Ambassador for Women to promote gender equality in India. She has not yet responded to these allegations.

Reason Behind Veena Malik's Divorce

Share

Former Bollywood actress and Big Boss contestant Veena Malik has divorced her husband and ended her 3-yr-old marriage. Veena, who hails from Pakistan, had filed for ‘khula’ (divorce) application at a family court in Labore in January and the court has granted her divorce with her husband Asad Khattak. The court had summoned Khattak but he neither appeared nor filed a reply. So, the court ruled in favour of Veena. She will have to return 25 per cent of ‘haq mehr’ (dowery money) to husband.

33-year-old actress Veena got married to Asad in December 2013 in Dubai and the couple is blessed with two children Abram (2) and Amal (1). According to reports, Veena and Khattak had been living separately for the last three months. Veena reportedly wanted to join films again but Khattak had been insisting she look after their two children.

Veena Malik is well known in India for TV show Bigg Boss and her controversies. She also signed couple of Telugu films and did a film “Nagna Satyam” but that didn’t see the light of the day.

Old Fathers Loving Young Mallu Heroines

Share

After Nitya Menon’s stunning appearance on Telugu screen, we have some lovely talents coming here from God’s Own Country. And these Kerala beauties have now become favourites of old Telugu fathers. Do you wonder why?

Generally, Telugu heroines (heroines acting in Tollywood) love to have single names for the silver screen. Like we have Anushka, Nayantara, Ileana, Samantha, Kajal, Tamanna and Shruti now. Some of them are using their surname on silver screen sometimes, but mostly these hotties are known with single names only.

Check the names of these Mallu hotties and most of them carry their father’s name as surnames. Like we have Anupama Parameshwaran, Keerthi Suresh, Anu Emanuel, Nivedha Thomas already here and some hotties like Namitha Pramod and Nikhila Vimal getting ready to debut here. At tea time talks it’s revealed that many fathers are feeling that it would be really good if their daughters also carry their name as the second name rather the surname or without appearing with a surname. Needless to say, many fathers feel proud that their daughters are bringing huge fame to them as well.

What about heroes folks? Rather getting called as Ultra star and the Ultimate star does these guys need to introduce us their fathers as well? It’s up to them.

In general, actresses are well versed with the art of exposing the striking features in their body. Netherlands model turned Indian actress Farah Karimaee looks to be a master in this aspect.

The hot actress has been flooding her Instagram page with some alluring pictures on a daily basis. In the above selfies, unbuttoning her shirt, she is strategically exposing those bulging assets and her shapely figure. No wonder the count of Farah’s followers is rapidly increasing.

Farah needs no introduction to Telugu audiences, she has played crucial roles in Ram Charan’s ‘Dhruva’ and Balakrishna’s GPSK.

Amidst growing flak from the Superstar Rajinikanth fans, who consider him as their Demi-God, Lawrence was quick to make an attempt to pacify things.

The actor has reportedly dismissed the tag that named him ‘Makkal Superstar’ and said he was not even aware of that title. As per his claims, it is Motta Shiva Ketta Shiva director Sai Ramani who gave him that title. The film is an official remake of super Telugu movie Pataas.

Pic Talk: Cheliya On Bazaar

Share

Here is ‘Flower Girl’ Aditi Rao Hydari on the cover page of Bazaar Bride for the March edition. Clad in a nature green-coloured floral dress with thick embroidery, Aditi looks ravishingly beautiful. While he dress was designed by designer Ridhi Mehra, the headline of the cover story reads, “Spring in her step: Aditi Rao Hydari.” And the tagline goes by, “Flower Girl: The Fresh-Faced Boho Bride”.

Veering towards her work, Aditi is acting as female lead in Mani Ratnam’s next Cheliya (Kaatru Veliyidai in Tamil) where she will be seen romancing Karthi and this marks her Tollywood debut. The trailer of the film was just released yesterday and it is quite average as fans expect more from a Mani Ratnam.

Not many know that Aditi has her roots in Hyderabad as her maternal grandfather J Rameshwar Rao was MP from Mahabhubnagar constituency for four times consecutively and he belongs to the Raja of Wanaparthy family.

What a climax idea Muruga ji!

Share

Succeeding in one ‘wood’ is a difficult task for a director.  Very few directors can succeed in three ‘woods’.. i.e., Kollywood, Tollywood & Bollywood like Murugadoss. As Muruga chooses universal points and connects them to all sections of audience he became a crazy director.  It is known that Muruga is directing our Super Star Mahesh Babu in his upcoming film.  When Muruga directs a most sought after star like Mahesh, the project automatically becomes crazy.

There has been several discussions about the titles.. first look.. teaser.. trailer dates in the media regarding this film. Forget about all these things for a while. Because there is an interesting update regarding the climax of this film.  Murugadoss said to have planned the climax on a roller coaster !  The film unit planned to shoot the climax in the Wonder La resort in Hyderabad.. But they found it difficult to shoot entire climax on the roller coaster as the speed of the roller coaster is a slightly high. So the film unit said to have created a roller coaster set for the climax portion. Original roller coaster scenes will be interpolated with the scenes shot in the set.

Isn’t it interesting to see our Super Star fighting the villain on the fast moving roller coaster ? That is the reason why Mahesh – Murugadoss movie is a crazy project.  Whatever be the case.. we have to appreciate Muruga for his brilliant climax idea.

Puri-Jagannadh_0

The immediate next day after announcing his new project with Nandamuri Balakrishna, crazy director Puri Jagannath surprised the film fraternity and fans by giving a casting call for new actors for #NBK101.

His casting call for as many as 12 new actors made fans wonder if he was making a film with a star like Balayya or with newcomers. Speculations made rounds that Balayya was unaware of this casting call decision and that he later gave his piece of mind to Puri.

The fresh we hear is that Puri has decided to drop his initial idea and go with the established actors from the plenty of talent that we have in southern film industry.

People who have responded to the casting call, will be interviewed and the selected ones will be provided movie offers through ‘Puri Connects’. Actress Charmi has reportedly been assigned this responsibility.

The film’s muhurat was held the other day. Puri confidently said that he would pen so many punch dialogues that the producer may have to release a dialogue CD after the film’s release. September 29 is the tentative release date.

Why did KCR underrate his son KTR?

Share

kcrktr

The internal survey conducted by Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has not surprised many, as everybody knows there would not be a different outcome for the survey commissioned by KCR himself.

Nobody would have been shocked even if the survey indicated that the TRS would win all the 119 seats in the assembly in the next elections.

But what has surprised many is the rating given to KCR’s own son and IT minister K T Rama Rao. According to the survey, KTR was fast losing the support of the people, as the fall in popularity graph indicated from the previous survey to the latest survey. In the survey conducted last time, KTR got the support of 70.6 per cent and now, it has fallen to 60.4 per cent.

In fact, KCR’s survey included KTR in the list of non-performing ministers like Ajmeera Chandulal, G Jagadeesh Reddy, Jogu Ramanna, Talasani Srinivasa Yadav, Indrakaran Reddy, Lakshma Reddy, Jupalli Krishna Rao and P Mahender Reddy, whose popularity graph also has been on the decline.

In contrast, KCR rated his nephew T Harish Rao very high and ranked him No. 2 in the cabinet, next only to the chief minister.

This is definitely a humiliation for KTR, though he is among the few most active ministers in the KCR cabinet. Wherever there is a problem, KTR responds quickly and reaches there on the spot.

People still remember how KTR personally swung into action when there were heavy floods in Hyderabad; and how he has been taking steps to revive the textile industry in Siricilla.

May be, KCR wants to nip KTR in the bud, if the latter had any plans to usurp the CM post. Or it can also be a publicity gimmick to tell the world that he does not encourage nepotism in the cabinet and does not spare even his son if he doesn’t perform well. In any case, it is a big blow to KTR!

Akhil Selects Bad Date for Launch?

Share

akil

Who is advising Akhil? His career is already in mess. So is his personal life. Still, he is making wrong choices about his career if reports are to be believed.

Reports say Akhil’s next film will be launched on April 1st as the muhurtham is auspicious on that day. April 1st? Yes! Akhil has been waiting for the last one and half years to start off his next movie and of all the auspicious muhurthams, Fools Day is chosen for the launch.

If he truly launches his second movie on that day, social media would troll him like anything. He is already under severe criticism over his wrong choices. Nagarjuna, who is considered most shrewd actor in Tollywood, is not giving any tips to his son or what?

Before the release of his maiden movie, entire industry declared that he would be the next big thing. But the movie’s miserable flop and his bad judgements have put him in embarrassing position. Akhil recently broke up with Shriya Bhupal after flashy engagement event a month before.

Mallya Says Ready For One-Time Settlement

Share

malya

New Delhi: The embattled liquor baron Vijay Mallya today took to Twitter saying he is ready to negotiate with banks to pay a one-time settlement charge on Rs. 9,000-crore loan default.

“Public sector banks have policies for one-time settlements. Hundreds of borrowers have settled. Why should this be denied to us? Our substantial offer before the honourable Supreme Court was rejected by banks without consideration. (I) am ready to talk settlement on fair basis,” Mr Mallya said in a tweet.

He further said: “Wish the Supreme Court would intervene and put an end to all this by directing banks and us to negotiate and settle. We are ready.”

Mr Mallya added that he has “humbly obeyed every single court order without exception” and “seems as if government is bent on holding me guilty without fair trial”.

“The allegations against me by the Attorney General before the Supreme Court only prove the attitude of the government against me,” he went on to say.

On Thursday, the Supreme Court posed a question to Mr Mallya about the “truthfulness” of his disclosure of assets and transfer of $40 million to his children.

A bench of Justices Adarsh Kumar Goel and U U Lalit put forth the queries during the day-long hearing following which it reserved the orders on two pleas from lenders seeking contempt action against Mr Mallya and a direction to him to deposit $40 million received from offshore firm Diageo.

Last month, the Indian government handed over to the UK an extradition request for the businessman, who is facing cases of loan default and other financial irregularities.

Mr Mallya, whose now-defunct Kingfisher Airlines owes more than Rs. 9,000 crore to various banks, had left India last year. (PTI)

Nagaram Movie Review – 3/5

Share

Nagaram is the Telugu dubbed version of Tamil flick Maanagaram directed by debutante Lokesh. It is a film that follows hyperlink pattern, multiple stories that are interlinked converge at one point.

Story :

A youngster (Shri) comes to the city in hope of finding a job. He gets selected in the interview, but gets roughed up by goons because of mistaken identity. They also take away his bag that contains his certificates. His job is at stake as he needs to submit the certificates by next morning.

A sincere lover boy (Sundeep) plots an acid attack on the person who threatens that he would pour acid on his girlfriend’s (Regina) face. Police finds that he is behind the attack and he is asked to leave the city until everything is in order.

A cab driver (Charlie) comes to the city so that he could give better treatment to his ailing son. He hires a cab that belongs to a dreaded goon PKP (Madhusudhan) and gets a job as a cab driver in an IT company.

A group of petty criminals wants to threaten someone by kidnapping his son, but they kidnap PKP’s son by mistake. Now this kidnap interlinks all the above characters and how they converge at one point for a conclusion is what the film is about.

Performances:

Sundeep kishan is good as the tough guy. His looks and performance are very effective. Shri is decent as a stranger caught in an extraordinary situation. He can emote and gets ample chance to exhibit his acting skills. Regina didn’t have much scope. Charlie is good and Ramadoss adds humor to the serious proceedings. Madhusudhan is believable as the dreaded rowdy.

Technicalities:

Lokesh Kanagaraj tries to offer something new like many of the young directors from Tamil cinema industry. Screenplay written by him is the biggest plus as it keeps you hooked all the time. He made a slick film with the help of talented bunch of youngsters behind the screen.

Music is in perfect sync with the film and elevates drama to another level in many scenes. There are not many songs in the film but the background score keeps us engaged. Cinematography is superb and makes us feel like we are watching real crime scenes and characters. Editor did a fine job with the interlinked screenplay.

Thumbs Up:

  • Screenplay
  • Cinematography
  • Music

Thumbs Down:

  • Romance track
  • Uneven pace

Analysis:

Nagaram is a well knitted film with hyperlinked screenplay. It is about ordinary characters in a city that are thrown into extra ordinary situations. There is no hero or villain in the film as we see just the characters and the situations they face. Director followed Rashomon style of screenplay that is rarely explored in Indian cinema.

Though Nagaram and its script appear simple it is not an easy task to write screenplay for such a film. Director Lokesh didn’t fumble at least once in interlinking all the stories into one. The film smoothly flows along despite switching from one story to another all the time. However, the romance track turns out to be a damp squib with nothing much to offer.

Regina character is just used as a plot device but hardly brings anything new to the table. The track almost slows down the film and is totally out of sync with the thrilling setup of remaining part. The film sometimes moves at a very good pace and sometimes refuses to move forward. They should have maintained even pace as such thrillers cannot afford to take the foot off the pedal.

Despite a few blemishes here and there, Nagaram is a tightly packed thriller that keeps us engaged all the time. It is a film that will definitely impress audience who ask for ‘change’ from the usual masala staple. Films like these have limited appeal which may affect its prospects at the box office.

Verdict: A Thrilling Night in the City.
