At the time when we speak about box-office numbers of any super hit Bollywood film between 100-200Cr, the Indian superstar actress Deepika Padukone has stunned everyone with a 1000 Crore (USD155 million) movie. She has apparently struck gold at box-office with a glittering Hollywood debut alongside Vin Diesel.

As Deepika’s first English film ‘XXX: Return of Xander Cage’, which was made on a budget of $85 million, has joined the 1000 Crore club by earning outstanding money from all over the globe. While the India domestic has fetch 53 crores at box-office, the film is yet to have its release in China which is said to be its biggest potential market. With a view to make it big in Hollywood, Deepika hadn’t signed in a film, except Padmavati, since 2015’s historical romance Bajirao Mastani, and with XXX success, one would expect more Hollywood studios would tend to eagerly work with her soon.

Emerging out as India’s top-paid actress, Deepika has been part of many successful Bollywood projects in the past and her biggest hits include Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Bajirao Mastani. Since no other Indian actor, as a main lead in a Hollywood film, experienced a sensational 1000 Crore film at box-office, it is definitely a great accomplishment by Deepika, who entered the industry with a Kannada film Aishwarya.

Now that Deepika has made a massive Hollywood debut, India is now looking forward to see if the other happening lady Priyanka Chopra can overshadow these numbers with her debut Baywatch, which stars Dwayne Johnson and Alexandra Daddaria.

Sometimes celebrities do pose with original endangered animals and later end up saying that it’s work of Computer Graphics. Similar incident has led to arrest of Bollywood TV actress Shruti Ulfat, who happens to play some senior roles in Hindi serials.

As she plays the role of Yashoda in the TV serial “Naagarjuna – Ek Yodha”, last year in October she celebrated with the team on completion of 100 episodes of the serial. During that time, she posed with a real Cobra and posted the same video on her social media pages. That led to animal activists filing a case on Shruti at Thane Forest Station. Giving an explanation on the same, Shruti claimed that the snake is generated in computer graphics, which happens to be a blatant lie after proved by the Forensic experts.

Finding that playing such way with an endangered animal (snake here) that is protected under Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 is a crime, police took Shruti Ulfat into custody and sent to court, after which she’s released. But the actress claimed that she went there only to record her statement.

Forest range officers, however, confirmed that they took Shruti and 3 others into custody and are hunting for the miscreants who supplied the Cobra to this shooting team.

The first ever special song filmed on popular TV anchor Anasuya Bharadwaj for Sai Dharam Tej’s ‘Winner’ was recently unveiled. Even in this lyrical song having countable visuals, some haters found something that they can use to criticize the team especially Anasuya.

Some netizens on social media targeted the team of ‘Winner’ accusing it of filming an item song in front of ‘Buddha’ statue. Decided not to take this foolish criticism, Anasuya has now given a fitting reply to all those haters on social media.

Anasuya clarified that they shot the ‘special song’ inside a pub named ‘Buddha Bar’ in Ukraine and that they didnt place the statue of Buddha but it was already situated in the pub. She asked the haters to go google for Buddha Bars saying they were a chain of party places in Europe.

‘If people dont have any issue partying and dancing in front of it, then what’s wrong in filming a song there? Our intention is only to entertain people,’ she said. ‘Targeting Sirasri garu for appreciating the song was just an act of attention seeking. He is a respected film personality and those who cant respect others, especially artists, should not talk about respecting God,’ added Anasuya using highly pertinent and logical words.

Taapsee might not have had commercial successes in Telugu. But she has certainly proved her mettle as an actress. When it comes to performance, there’s no doubt about her acting prowess. It’s heard that Taapsee has yet again performed well in her forthcoming film Ghazi.

India’s first submarine war film chronicles the unknown battle of Navy during 1970 Indo-Pak war – mysterious sinking of PNS Ghazi, a Pakistan deployed Submarine, by Indian Navy. The period film will see Tapsee in a tough character ever in her career and her role sans makeup. She will be seen in deglam role as she plays naval officer who sails on sea and hence she looks natural in the movie without having any cosmetics.

For the role, Taapsee has learnt Bengali language as her character speaks in Bengali in a few scenes and she learnt the language only for these short sentences. This yet again proved her commitment. Despite being a Punjabi from Delhi, Taapsee learnt Telugu for her Tollywood career.

Let’s hope this film will bring back Taapsee back in action in Telugu.

Sunil is quite popular with his comic acts. While his recent stint as commercial hero hasn’t really struck a chord with critics, still he has good mass following. But Sunil too is hungry for a good success to get back to the limelight like before.

Now it’s heard that Sunil’s ongoing film Ungarala Rambabu being directed by Kranthi Madhav has good hopes. Kranthi Madhav has carved a niche. He’s known for aesthetic filmmaking. Be it his Malli Malli Idi Rani Roju with Sharwa or Onamalu have received great appreciations from critics and he’s revered for critical reception. Even the film’s recent pre-look has really caught the attention.

With Sunil’s ‘mass’ element and Kranthi’s ‘class’ element joining forces, Sunil is hopeful of getting busy once again. Let’s wait and see whether Kranthi changes Sunil’s fate or not.

Anushka Shetty had put on over 20 kilos weight for Size Zero. While the film tanked without a trace, her extra weight didn’t go actually. Although Sweety has lost a few kilos, still she’s far from getting back into her previous shape. Sample, Anushka struggles to dance in Singam 3 and her dance lacks grace.

Now, this is worrying Baahubali fans. While principal shooting of Baahubali part 2 (Baahubali: The Conclusion) was shot during Baahubali: The Beginning itself, the climax portions were shot only recently i.e Anushka gaining weight. This is now setting tongues wagging in tinsel town. And naturally, it’s a new headache to Rajamouli.

The good thing is that Anushka is trying to get rid of these extra kilos by natural means and she doesn’t want to go for a lypo or any artificial measures. And this is said to be the reason for she not able to lose her weight quickly. But the moot question is how she will be seen as Devasena in Baahubali: The Conclusion?

Nagarjuna had stated that he would decided what his 100th film would be but not his fans in a recent interview to Gulte. Nag had made it clear that he himself would reveal the count and rubbished of taking cameos, guest appearances into the account. He made it clear that only proper full-fledged roles would be considered.

Now, finally Nag set the record straight before entering the room 2, the horror sequel of Raju Gari Gadhi. Revealing the count of his films, Nag said, “I did 95 films before this film (Om Namo Venkatesaya). I’m never so happy, peaceful before a film’s release earlier.”

With this, it’s pretty clear that Om Namo Venkatesaya is the actor’s 96th film and his next Raju Gari Gadhi 2 would be his 97th film and Bangarraju with Kalyan Krishna Kurasala would be Nag’s 98th film.

So, it would not take much time for Nag to reach his landmark 100th film. This has reason for Akkineni fans to celebrate. Isn’t it?

No doubt, Sukumar is one of the creative directors. Yet he has a problem. He ends up shooting for more number of days resulting in the increase of production costs. Also, Sukumar is known for writing scenes on the sets and struggling to build the scenes on the spot waiting the film’s cast and crew who would be paid without work.

Be it Nannaku Prematho or One Nenokkadine, the films were shot for more number of days than the original plan of shooting, also both films have good wastage due to unnecessary scenes that were shot first and were later removed from the final copy.

Considering this, producers Mythri Movie Makers have given strict instructions to Sukumar in executing his next with Ram Charan. Since Mythri’s first two films were made in controlled budget, good planning and released on time – except Janatha Garage that was slightly delayed but it worked, Mythri Movie Makers have asked Sukumar to give a perfect plan on the shooting days and total costing.

It’s also learnt that the film’s shoot begins only after locking the script tightly. Mythri producers don’t want to take anymore chances and is setting their eyes on hat-trick.

Will Sukumar make it? That’s the moot question at the moment.

Mark Skaggs, the brain behind popular games such as Farmville and Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle-Earth, is partnering with filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli to create a “Baahubali” mobile game.

“Mark Skaggs (from Moonfrog Labs), creator of Farmville and Lord of the Rings games (among others) discussing the creation of ‘Baahubali’ mobile game with S.S. Rajamouli. Exciting stuff coming your way. Stay tuned,” read a post on the official Facebook page of “Baahubali”.

“Baahubali”, as a franchise, has gone beyond cinema. It’s being made into a novel, comics and even an animated series.

Rajamouli is currently busy with the post-production of “Baahubali: The Conclusion”, which is slated for release on April 28.

The film stars Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Tamannaah Bhatia, Anushka Shetty and Ramya Krishnan in pivotal roles.

The second part will simultaneously release in Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam.

Nagarjuna Akkineni’s latest devotional drama ‘Om Namo Venkatesaya’ is all set to hit screens tomorrow. Meanwhile, lets have a read about how makers covered up Nagarjuna’s tattoo on his right shoulder.

Telugu movie lovers are well aware that Nag has a tattoo inked on his right shoulder. This tattoo is seen in several films when Nag went shirtless or wore sleeveless costumes. As he plays stylish characters in most movies, this tattoo used to be retained to add extra style to the character’s persona.

However, given that ONV is a devotional film, the story of Hathiram Baba, a staunch devotee of Lord Venkateswara, the tattoo would look odd if makers retained it. So, the experienced K Raghavendra Rao has come up with a plan.

Since no one has an idea about how Hathiram Baba looked, he has made his designers create Nag’s costume in a way that the right shoulerd always stays covered, be it with age-old shirts or shawls. Although Nag is seen shirtless in some scenes in the promos, his right shoulder is always covered up.

The team of ONV must be applauded for taking proper care regarding every minute detail of the character of Hathiram Baba.
