Pawan Kalyan and Chiranjeevi teaming up for a film is one of the most craziest combinations ever. The two biggest stars and brothers going to share screen space in a film to be directed by genius like Trivikram Srinivas is certainly a mega news.

However, this sensational news hasn’t got the buzz that is actually expected. And there are several reasons for this. Especially many doubts are looming large on the combination due to below points.

Feasibility

First and foremost is the feasibility of the project. While Pawan is quite occupied with his schedule of films – RT Neason and AM Ratnam film, Trivikram and Radhakrishna film, two other films under Dasari’s production and Mythri’s production are in loop before his shift to politics, Chiru already announced his 151st with Surender Reddy and 152nd with director Boyapati Sreenu. In the meantime, Trivikram too has his commitments with Pawan, Jr NTR. And no one really knows what would be the status of the film as it all depends on the situations, prevailing conditions.

Story

Story is very very important than just the combination. When such two biggest stars are going to share screen space, balancing both the characters is very crucial. Especially, the fact that Pawan fans have already distanced from mega fans, there lies a greater challenge to director Trivikram Srinivas. So, story and characters, screen presence and equal herois

Timing

The timing of the announcement too isn’t a great idea. Had it been made on a holiday or a festival day, the traction would had been higher.

Unfulfilled Promises

Let alone acting in a film with Megastar, Pawan hadn’t even attended the public functions of Chiru. Well, Pawan might had been busy with his own works, but the actual point is also that there are many of the films that didn’t materialise even after Pawan’s commitment.

Pawan-Dasari film, Pawan’s Kobali with Trivikram, Pawan-Mythri film, and the list of unfulfilled promises goes on and on.

Politics

None other than Pawan had announced that he’d quit films during Sardaar Gabbar Singh promotions. He reiterated that he may not do more than 2 to 3 films before plunging into full-fledged politics. Pawan had also announced to contest in 2019 elections from Eluru, i.e only two years away from now. Taking note of these, it’s unlikely that Pawan would team up with Chiru before the elections as both Chiru, Trivikram should also make time for him.

PS: Let’s hope Pawan, Chiru overcome all the above hurdles and come together to enthrall fans.

Looks like there is more than enough room for historical and period films in Tollywood. Starting with Baahubali to Rudramadevi and the most recent Gautamiputra Satakarni, every film under that genre is either blockbuster or a super hit. And this time, we may get to see another star hero in this type of films.

When the last time we saw Jr NTR telling historical dialogues (in Yamadonga) eloquently and rhetorically, Tarak totally reminded the historical performances of his grand father NTR. His accent, fiction, delivery of dialogues and screen presence- he was absolutely flawless in all the aspects. Although it became a big boon to him in the later days, he never attempted a complete periodic film so far.

Having said that, Young Tiger is one Tollywood actor who always tries to up the ante when it comes to acting. As per the reports from Film Nagar, director and producer Gunasekhar has penned down a historical drama based on the story of Bhakta Prahalada, titled ‘Hiranyakashyapa’. The filmmaker who visited Varaha Narasimha Swamy on Thursday, along with wife Sharada, disclosed more about the project. ‘If Tarak likes the script, it would be part of this massive project,’ says the Rudramadevi director. With two projects already in the pipeline and much competition among other filmmakers to direct Tarak, it remains to be seen whether Gunasekhar will get the actor’s nod for this historical drama?

The director, on other hand, reveals that script work of Pratapa Rudrudu, a sequel to ‘Rudramadevi’, is underway and it will be rolled out under his home banner. As both scripts are into final stages, Gunasekhar will begin the shoot of Hiranyakashyapa this year and move to Pratapa Rudrudu later.

It is known that legendary Telugu filmmaker Dasari Narayana Rao has been in the ICU in KIMS hospital for the past three days. Megastar Chiranjeevi, who visited him on Thursday, spoke to media and ascertained that his health was improving.

Chiru said that Dasari warmly received him and that he never looked like as an old man on ICU bed. ‘Although he couldn’t speak, he wrote on paper and enquired me about the collections of Khaidi No.150. When I said that it has done 150 Cr, he again wrote that it would do 250 Cr. I can’t forget his gesture of twirling his moustache to let me know how proud he is of me and my film (Nenu Khaidi No.150 Share intha ani cheppinappudu, aayana Meesam melipettaru. Adhi nenu eppatiki marchipolenu),’ an excited Chiru said.

Assuring that Dasari was doing fine and that would be back to normalcy in a few days, Chiru said that the ailing filmmaker would attend the thanks giving meet that he is planning to hold on the success of Khaidi No.150.

‘He will be in ICU for 2-3 days more but there is no need to worry. He is a fighter, more than the medical help, his self-belief and courage will bring him back. He will be back,’ Chiru added.

Apple beauty Hansika, who enjoyed the devotion of Tamil tambis for close to a decade, is currently sitting idle as she doesnt have even a single film in hand.

Hansika’s latest Tamil film ‘Bogan’ released on February 2nd. During a press meet, when asked if she would take up heroine oriented films like Trisha and Nayanthara as she didn’t have any new films, the frustrated hottie commented that she was only 25 and that she would think of such films after she is into her middle 30s like Nayan and Trisha.

Hansika’s inadvertent comments hinting as if Trisha and Nayanthara have resorted to heroine oriented films as they were not fit to romance heroes, didn’t go well with the fans of the two actresses. She is receiving backlash from the fans on social media.

Hansika must have forgot that both Trisha and Nayan are not just limited to heroine oriented films and are also acting alongside noted heroes. On the other hand, she has neither.

Fans erecting cutouts for their favorite heroes ahead of their film releases is very common in tollywood. However, Nani seems to have been touched by this and he has a commendable gratitude message for his fans.

Several cutouts of Nani have been placed at theatres across the Telugu states as his latest film ‘Nenu Local’ hit screens today. Cutouts are not new to this ‘Natural Star’ but he looks to be touched by the cutout placed at the iconic Sudarshan 35MM theatre at RTC X Roads in Hyderabad.

Balayya has in the past few years chosen films having powerful titles like Legend, Simha, Dictator, Lion, Adhinayakudu etc. No one is sure if he has paid as much attention to thee stories as to the titles because barring a few, all of these powerful titles resulted in duds at box office. It seems that Balayya is currently toying with another powerful title, ‘Sarvabhouma’.

During the promotions of his latest film GPSK, Balayya reiterated that he would henceforth do only content driven films and not fall in the trap of mass films with unconvincing dialogues and fights. Staying true to his words, he is yet to sign a film even though experienced directors like Krishna Vamsi, KS Ravi Kumar, P Vasu etc. have narrated stories to him.

The latest we hear is that Satya Deva who made his directorial debut with Balayya’s ‘Lion’ has registered ‘Sarvabhouma’ title with Film Chamber and is planning to make an action entertainer starring Balayya.

A senior hero like Balayya giving a chance to a debut director was surprising but Balayya somehow believed in the subject. In the end, critics opined that the basic point of ‘Lion’ was interesting but the inexperienced director narrated the film in a tedious manner and caused it to become a flop.

Now, the ‘Sarvabhouma’ title looks too powerful to be missed. If Balayya decides to do this film, he needs to ensure there was a decent subject and also make sure if Satya Deva can handle it or not. Post GPSK, Balayya’s craze has reached another level and he needs to be cautious to not lose it.

After megastar Chiranjeevi and Balayya Babu’s landmark 150th and 100th films respectively, discussions about Nagarjuna Akkineni’s 100th film have also commenced in film circles. Akkineni fans are quite kicked about the milestone of their favorite hero but going by Nag’s comments, #Nag100 looks highly doubtful.

Nag has recently said that not his fans but he himself would take a call on his 100th film. The actor so far has some 92 films to his credit. However, Nag said that he wouldn’t consider the films in which he played guest roles and cameos as his starrers so as per Nag, his total would be around 80 only.

Even if the actor races against time and do two films a year, it would take him another 10 years to reach the 100th film. The actor is already 57 and we can’t expect him to continue playing lead roles for another 10 years. He might shift to potential supporting roles but then again he wouldn’t consider them as his films so the 100th film mark looks a distant dream as of now.

Given how the tastes of audiences have changed from routine commercial to content driven films and how the hero worship is slowly fading away, expecting movie lovers or even fans to have same enthusiasm over Nag’s 100th film after 10 years is too much to ask for.

The actor doesn’t look worried about his 100th film at all and it would be better if fans also don’t think of it as of now or it might lead to huge disappointment. Meanwhiel, Nag’s ‘Om Namo Venkatesaya’ is all set to hit screens on February 10.

Veteran film director Dasari Narayana Rao is recovering well and fast, a health bulletin released by Dr Bollineni Bhaskar Rao, MD of Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences, Secunderabad.

According to rao, Dasari has overcome the kidney-related problems and there is no need for any dialysis now.

“This morning, we have removed ventilator support for some time but since his body was too weak to handle it, we have brought him back to ventilator support,” he said.

The doctors also performed tracheotomy surgical procedure to help breathing better. He is expected to recover well in three to four days’ time, Rao said.

Earlier, Dasari was operated for kidney failure, sepsis and respiratory failure.

“His health is being constantly monitored by a Team of experts, and everything that is required to ensure his speedy recovery will be done,” the hospital director said.

Bollywood has this tradition of star heroes and heroines attending wedding events just to dance for 10-15 minutes and then collect crores as their pay cheque. What makes anyone wonder is that if this senior heroine is still doing the same.

Mumbai: Actress Tamannaah Bhatia is looking forward to the release of “Baahubali 2” in April.

“I am very excited for ‘Baahubali 2’, which is coming out in April. The first part has already garnered so much interest, love and appreciation. I am looking forward to seeing the audience’s reaction this time too,” the “Himmatwala” star said.

The Indian epic historical fiction film, directed by S.S. Rajamouli, stars Prabhas in the lead. The film is scheduled for worldwide release on April 28.

Tamannaah spoke on the sidelines of the Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2017 here on Wednesday.

Talking about fashion, she said: “In Mumbai, we all sweat a lot in summer. So, the fabric that you wear is what really matters. I would say one should wear cotton and Indian fabrics which are suitable for this weather, and you will feel comfortable.

“However, if you really want to look smashing, then go for that dress you want to wear.”
