Revanth to challenge suspension in court

Telangana Telugu Desam Party floor leader in the assembly A Revanth Reddy is all set to move the court challenging the decision of Speaker S Madhusudhanachary to suspend him and his colleage Sandra Venkata Veeraiah from the assembly for the rest of the budget session.

According to Revanth Reddy’s argument, the first day of the budget session every year is officiated by the Governor and only he can take any decision on the unruly behaviour of the MLAs, if there is any.

The Speaker cannot take action against any MLA for disrupting the House during the Governor’s address.
“If at all the Speaker wants to do so, he should first take the issue to the notice of the Governor. Moroever, there is no provision for suspending a member for the entire session.

We are examining the relevant rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the State Legislative Assembly in this regard,” Revanth Reddy said.

In fact, BJP Legislative Party leader G Kishan Reddy too wanted to know whether the Speaker can suspend members for disrupting Governor’s address.

The contention of the BJP legislator is that the Speaker does not convene the House on the day on which Governor addresses the Joint Session.

According to him, when Yanamala Ramakrishnudu was the Speaker of the then Assembly in erstwhile Andhra Pradesh, the then opposition leader P Janardhan Reddy led Congress members had torn and thrown speech copy on the then Governor.

“When some members asked the then Speaker as to why action was not taken, Yanamala said he was not officiating the business on that day and hence, he can’t take any action,” Reddy recalled.

BJP will unseat TDP in 2019: Purandeshwari

Bharatiya Janata Party’s resounding victory in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarkhand states has emboldened some of its leaders to predict that the BJP juggernaut will roll on even in the South India, especially in Andhra Pradesh.

Though national leaders of the BJP have refrained from making any comments on the states like Odisha and Andhra Pradesh, where the NDA alliance partners are in power, some leaders have started predicting that the BJP would come to power in these states independently.

Particularly, senior BJP leader and former Union Minister Daggubati Purandhareswari, who is a bitter enemy of her brother-in-law and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, said the BJP would repeat its UP performance in Andhra Pradesh as well.

Expressing jubilation over the BJP’s great victory in UP and Uttarakhand, Purandeshwari said even in AP too the lotus will rise and bloom in the next elections, as happened in Manipur where the BJP had little presence in the past.

She said that the party was getting immense support from all sections of people and hoped that it would rise in AP too.

However, what Purandeshwari is not aware that the people of Andhra Pradesh were terribly angry with the BJP for denying special category status to AP and in the next elections, the BJP might not win even a single seat. In fact, the TDP,  too, is facing the stigma of having alliance with the BJP.

Even though Bandla Ganesh has been inactive on film production front from last two years, his poultry business was always flourishing. He had plans to expand his business into UP but the historic win of BJP in the recently held Assembly elections look to have thwarted his plans.

Bandla is one of the top most businessmen in Telangana in the poultry field. His business grew to twenty five lakh chicken from a mere two thousand.

During a recent interview, he divulged his plans of setting up a new branch of his poultry business in Uttar Pradesh. He even said that he managed to buy 100 acres of land in the UP with the help of then CM and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav and that he would start the construction of farm after Akhilesh wins the election and forms government again.

The election results came out the other day and BJP trounced its opponents in UP in an emphatic fashion. Political analysts opine that Akhilesh may not make a comeback even in next elections. With this, plans of Bandla to take his business to UP were effectively nullified.

After the sudden the sudden demise of senior TDP leader and Nandyal MLA Bhuma Nagi Reddy, sources close to party hints that there could to inclusion of Allagadda MLA Bhuma Akhila Priya into state cabinet on behalf of her father from Kurnool district.

Bhuma Nagi Reddy, being a popular leader in Rayalaseema, along with wife Shoba Nagi Reddy joined Chiranjeevi’s Praja Rajyam Party before 2009 elections.

Having won the 2014 election on YSRCP ticket, Bhuma and his family switched loyalties to Telugu Desham and recently, Babu is said to have promised a cabinet berth for him in the coming expansion. The cabinet reshuffling is likely to happen in April month – I.e after the ongoing state budget sessions.

Now that the popular Rayalaseema leader is no more, his daughter and Allagadda MLA Akhila Priya could get that chance. In this re-shuffling, TDP is expected to bring in few more party members into cabinet including Nara Lokesh. After resolving the rivalry with Shilpa brothers in Kurnool district, Babu reportedly assured a cabinet berth to Bhuma.

Akhila Priya unanimously won from Allagadda assembly constituency after her mother Shoba met with a tragic road accident and passed away before the 2014 polls.

Nagarjuna Repeats Nithiin's Mistake?

As per the reports from film circles, Nagarjuna Akkineni is committing the same mistake that was done by hero Nitthiin in the case of ‘Akhil’.

It is known that Nag is producing his younger son Akhil’s second film under his own banner. ‘Ishq’ and ‘Manam’ fame Vikram Kumar has been chosen as the director after considering several names.

Reportedly, Vikram has penned a unique action script in the stye of Hollywood action films and that Nag has sanctioned Rs 40 crore budget for it. The reason could be Nag’s immense confidence in Vikram, who delivered a classic film ‘Manam’ for Akkineni family. Trusting Vikram is one thing and betting Rs 40 Cr on Akhil however is another thing altogether.

It may be recalled that Nithiin had spent more than Rs 40 crore for Akhil’s debut film ‘Akhil’, which was the highest for any debut hero. As there was huge hype, he managed to sell the rights to interested parties for high prices. In the end, even after collecting around Rs 25 crore share, Akhil ended up as a huge disaster.

Although an experience Nag is well aware of budget risks, he has once again allotted Rs 40 crore for Akhil’s second project. Almost half of this is reportedly reserved for action sequences. Nag might have decided to take this risk in order to relaunch his son in style but will the distributors dare to bet so high on Akhil after the earlier bruising?

A well-known director has made only a few films and yet he said to have had possessed large amount of black money. With government’s demonetisation came as a shocker, the director had converted large part of the black money during the demonetisation period. And now this has been leaked to industry circles only recently and in no time it said to had spread like wildfire. And this is now the talking point in filmnagar.

Apparently, the director had started his film with a big star during the same time. And it’s buzzed that he had focused more on the money conversion than on the movie. Many senior directors who have had come to know about him now are apparently expressing their shock.

The director in question had given a blockbuster to a star hero earlier and later suffered a major set back with a disaster following which he has lost his sheen and was going through a lean phase. However, he recently picked up and now working with a big star.

Pawan Kalyan in Confusion About Political Strategy

Share

The results of Uttar Pradesh polls are a big blow to powerstar Pawan Kalyan. He was not expecting BJP would emerge as winner but the party scripted history on Saturday by scoring more than 300 assembly seats. Today Prime Minister Narendra Modi has become more powerful than ever before.

Pawan Kalyan is in soup. For the past few months, Pawan Kalyan has been directly attacking on Bharatiya Janata Party on various issues through his twitter.

Although he campaigned for NDA in 2014 general elections, Pawan Kalyan recently moved away from BJP and is planning to tie-up with left parties.

He first blamed BJP for not honouring the promise made to Andhra Pradesh regarding special status. But later he also started questioning many of BJP’s policies.

In recent USA tour Pawan Kalyan discussed the political strategies to be adopted by him in Andhra Pradesh with noted international political and election strategist Steve Jarding in Boston.

Steve Jarding also advised former UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav for UP assembly elections. Now that Akhilesh routed in the polls, Pawan Kalyan is now said to be wary of taking the services of Steve Jarding.

Powerstar now may not strongly criticize Modi in his next speeches and he might rethink of going with left parties too. This is why political pundits say Pawan Kalyan’s strategies are totally wrong from the beginning.

Maverick filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, who claims to be an emotionless person, has surprised film lovers by revealing that he actually cried after learning what Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan said about him.

In a recent interview, when Bachchan was asked about how could he cope with the strange and inconsistent filmmaking of RGV, the megastar said, “Consistency is downright boring and static for some people like RGV. He is inconsistent because he is a restless creative mind, always willing to take risks in search of unexplored outputs.”

“RGV’s ‘inconsistency’ may not have given him the desired results he expected, but that won’t stop me from admiring and applauding his efforts. Every ‘inconsistent’ offer that RGV included me in, challenged me and it has been an exercise of positive learning,” added Big B.

He concluded that he would always be wiling to work with RGV irrespective of the results of his films. He even compared Varma with visionary legends like Stanley Kubrik and Spielberg.

After reading what Big B said about him, RGV confessed to have had tears in his eyes.

Interim, the duo’s latest collaboration ‘Sarkar 3’ is slated to hit screens on April 7, 2017.

1) Kittu Unnadu Jagratha: Last week’s release Kittu Unnadu Jagratha retained its number 1 spot at the ticket window, courtesy of the dismal show of new releases this week.

KUJ business remained dull in plexes, but it has been consistent at the single screens.

It was the first choice film for Hyderabad multiplex audience over the weekend. The film is also carrying good word of mouth.

In what can be called as a safe combination, Achari America Yatra already started creating enthusiasm in film circles.

Drink Toddy To Avoid Cancer!

Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has come out with a wonderful formula to beat the dreaded disease – cancer.

KCR told the assembly on Saturday that consumption of unadulterated toddy will cure cancer.

“There have been reports in some media that if you drink pure toddy, you won’t get cancer,” he said.

Strongly defending his government’s decision to encourage toddy tapping, KCR said toddy consumption is a culture in Telangana.

“It’s a poor man’s drink. After working hard for the entire day, in the evening, they drink two glasses of toddy and sleep. It’s a habit in Telangana, though some people in Andhra too consume it,” KCR said.

He, however, said the government was taking strict measures to curb adulterated toddy, which was harmful to the people’s health.

Katamarayudu's 'Tagubothu' Anthem

Third song from Katamarayudu album has been unveiled on Sunday evening. It is a colorful mass song that is going to be an anthem for all the drunkards.

The song which goes Jivvu Jivvu is reminiscent of Mandu Babulam from Gabbar Singh, but is not as catchy as the latter.

Anup Rubens tune is ordinary like the previously released two songs from Katamarayudu.

Traditional dappu beats are impressive, but the tune is not catchy at all. Lyrics penned by Varikuppala Yadagiri will put a smile on listeners faces, especially for people who love to drink.

Apart from lyrics and attractive beats, there is nothing special about Jivvu Jivvu song which will heavily rely upon Pawan Kalyan’s energy and his trademark teen maar steps for such numbers.

Most People Don't Know My Name Yet

Actor Sri Vishnu is humble, modest and down-to-earth. The actor who recently tasted success with Appatlo Okadundevadu is now on a roll. Ahead of the release of his next film Maa Abbayi that’s releasing on Mar 17th, we get talking to Vishnu.

Maa Abbayi:

It’s based on a real-incident that happened few years ago in Hyderabad. The plot isn’t new. But the screenplay is novel. We made sure the treatment is fresh, different. This is the highest-budget film in my career so far. It has good span. Even I was skeptical about putting so much money on me. But the producer is so much confident on the film and so we. The film has come up really well.

I’ll be seen as confident youth in the film. As title suggests, it appeals to family audiences. The sister-brother sentiment stands out. There’s action element as well but it’s part of the story.

Appatlo Okadundevadu:

We had started the film with a passion to tell a different story. Seriously we didn’t had business goal in our mind when we started it and we made the film with love. But we were so confident about people receiving new, different films provided they’re well-made. And the result of Appatlo Okadundevadu was beyond our expectation. It’s successful. But had we released in better time and had we got good number of theatres, definitely we’d have got better result.

Until Appatlo Okadundevadu, in fact, even today most of the people don’t know my name yet. Many call me ‘Railway Raju’. Before Appatlo Okadundevadu too, I was called ‘Royal Raju’ that again was my name in my debut Prema Ishq Kaadhal. I’m so happy to be identified with the characters I play on screen. This means that I’m successful as an actor. In fact, I want audiences to notice me with my onscreen names only.

On Hiking Remuneration:

I had agreed this film even before the release of Appatlo Okadundevadu. So, certainly I haven’t hiked my remuneration.

Romantic Scenes:

Seriously, I wasn’t comfortable while doing the romantic scenes. It was really tough. (laughs)

Nara Rohith:

Yes, Rohith and I share great bond. But we talk mostly about films and nothing more. And no, we haven’t finalised yet about his Rohith’s special role in my ongoing film ‘Needi Naadi Oke Kadha’. We had thought to have Rohith but somehow we couldn’t do it in the previous schedule and we need to decide it before the next schedule.

Apart from this, I’m doing ‘Mental Madhilo’ and it’ll be interesting story.

Is Rakul going to join the exclusive list of heroines who’re opting for item songs, besides lead roles?

After top actresses like Tamannah Bhatia, Shruti Haasan and Kajal Aggarwal featured in special dance numbers, a new speculation has it that the makers of NTR’s upcoming film, tentatively titled as ‘Jai Lava Kusa’, are trying to rope in Rakul Preet Singh for an item song.

Yes, if the latest rumors are to be believed, the Winner lass who is an A-list Tollywood star is under consideration for a special dance number alongside Tarak and it is said to be an energetic one from musician Devi Sri Prasad. Rakul, being the very successful actress in a very short span, also acted with NTR in Nannaku Prematho which released last year.

On other hand, it is needless to tell how big Kajal’s item song (Pakka Local) in Janatha Garage attracted our audiences and made name for the Magadheera beauty. So, will Rakul Preet Singh follow her steps and opt a new career option? – you’d be answered soon.

Having shed his weight, NTR is all set to begin the film shortly. Tarak’s brother and hero Kalyan Ram will bankroll the project under NTR Arts banner and director Bobby is helming it.

If the victory moments appear great for elected legislator in Uttar Pradesh, their shocking assets, criminal charges and other statistics of state election will surprise people. According to a national media report, the UP polls for 403 MLAs have elected as many as 322 crorepatis (more then 2/3rd of lawmakers) and 143 legislators (more than 1/3rd of MLAs) facing criminal charges including murder & rape.

Out of 1455 multi-millionaires contested in elections, 143 have reportedly declared criminal charge sheet details and 107 are included in either murder or rape cases. Although these numbers are quite non-acceptable, many netas in Uttar Pradesh always sustained these charges.

Interestingly a BSP contestant Mukthar Ansari, who won from Mau constituency, is a mafia don-turned-politico who’s more than 15 criminal charges against him. And a rich BJP MLA named Ajay Pratap Singh declared himself as a farmer and reported 49 crore worth assets including 60kgs of gold, 6 riffles and seven vehicles in his affidavit.

While the participation of female contestants in largest state of India was less than 10%, a total number of 40 woman MLAs emerged out victorious.

Jagan hopes to do a BJP in Andhra in 2019!

The resounding victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Uttar Pradesh, where it has trounced the Cycle party – Samajwadi Party in the assembly elections, seems to have given a big hope to YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.

He now hopes that his party also will do a BJP in Andhra Pradesh elections in 2019. Claiming the people are fed-up with TDP polices and corruption under its rule, YSRCP asserted the party will win the 2019 Assembly elections.

“It is high time the anti-people policies of TDP are rejected outright to pave the way for the golden era of YSR (former AP Chief Minister late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy),” the YSRC leaders said, according to a release issued by the opposition party.

Speaking at the party’s Foundation Day function, party MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy said, “We (YSR Congress) have completed six years and have to resolve that we will fight corruption and anti-people polices of the TDP government.” The party leaders said the Centre should keep its promise of granting special category status to Andhra Pradesh.

“Naidu’s lack of morals and also manipulative skills came to the fore when he lured 21 of our MLAs and two MPs to his side using corrupt methods. Such practices are a mockery of democracy. People are waiting to teach him a lesson,” they said, according to the party release.

“YSR Congress is the future and youth in large numbers are getting attracted to the party as they want to see Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy (party chief) as Chief Minister after the 2019 elections,” they said.

Modi Calls For A 'New India' By 2022

Share

New Delhi: Observing that the results of the recent assembly polls were food for thought for experts, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday envisioned a “New India” that looks to contribute and not just to take.

A day after BJP secured a historic mandate in the assembly polls, Modi undertook a victory march from Le Meridien hotel to the nearby party headquarters on Ashoka Road, thanking the people and party workers.

“There are many reasons for winning an election but the massive voting that led to this massive win has become food for thought for political pundits,” Modi said addressing party workers.

“I have been seeing opinions of political pundits and media reports. We have seen emotional issues dominating elections. No party has won elections only on development agenda and without an emotional issue. But we have done that,” he said.

Asserting that he was never bound by electoral motives, Modi called upon the people of the country to strive towards creating a “New India” by 2022.

“I have seen the deluge of poll-centric dreams, I envision a new India. We want 1.25 crore Indians collectively striving to make New India.

“We respect and accept the work done by all Prime Ministers and Chief Ministers. In 2022 when we will celebrate 75 years India, we want to have a new India. An India of the dreams of the youth, of empowered women and their dreams. A new India that looks to contribute and not just to take. The India that seeks opportunities to grow.

“We have five years and if all Indians pledge their commitment, then India can never lag back,” he said, adding the results of the assembly polls have boosted the country’s aspirations.

He also asserted that he would seek to relieve the “most burdened” middle-class.

“The middle class is the most burdened section, burdened of tax, societal norms… This burden needs to go and that will happen once the poor are empowered to shoulder their own burdens.

“And today’s poor do not look for doles, they want opportunities to utilise their hard work. The strength of the poor and the aspirations of the middle class can take India to new heights,” he said.

He also said BJP was having its golden period that didn’t suddenly come but was a result of four generations of toil and sweat.
