Actress Trisha Krishnan, who recently faced the heat of angry protesters for endorsing PETA animal welfare’s stand against Jallikattu, has clarified she never spoke against the ancient and popular bull-taming sport.

The actress endorsed People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) organisation and is long associated with the animal welfare group, which is aggressively campaigning against Jallikattu, and also wants people supporting it to be held for contempt of court.

On Friday, the angry protesters held up the shooting of Trisha’s upcoming Tamil film “Garjanai” in Sivaganga district and demanded her to come out of the vanity van where she took refuge.

“I have never spoken against Jallikattu at any given point. Thank you Simbu for making my stand clear and taking up for me as always,” Trisha tweeted on Saturday.

Tamil actor Simbu earlier this week spoke in support of Jallikattu.

Appalled by the language people used on social media to troll her, she said: “I am shocked and mortified at the haters and the kind of filthy language being used just because you have free access to social media.”

She further asked whether disrespecting a woman and her family is part of Tamil culture.

“You should be ashamed to call yourself a Tamilian or even speak about Tamil culture,” she quipped.

Trisha also thanked her “Garjanai” team for the protection and support they gave her.

Last year, the Supreme Court banned Jallikattu, angering the sport’s supporters and traditionalists who support it.

The makers of actor Jr. NTR’s next yet-untitled Telugu project announced on Saturday that popular cinematographer C.K. Muraleedharan, best known for working in projects such as “PK” and “3 Idiots”, is on board for the film.

To be directed by Bobby, the film will be produced under NTR Arts banner.

“We are happy and proud to announce that award winning cinematographer, C.K. Muraleedharan, is going to handle the camera for NTR 27. Welcome aboard sir,” read a tweet on Saturday from NTR Arts.

Interestingly, this will be Muraleedharan’s maiden Telugu outing.

In the film, which happens to be NTR’s 27th project, he will be seen in a triple role.

The Quantico Star, Priyanka Chopra has reportedly suffered an injury to the brain which resulting in loss of her consciousness.

While filming for her ABC series Quantico, PeeCee happened to be a part of the set where there was a minor accident. “She was immediately taken to the hospital, examined by a doctor and released”, said her reporter.

He also added, “She is resting comfortably at home on doctors orders, and will return to work after the weekend.”

This unfortunate incident took place while she performing an action stunt on the sets of Quantico. The action sequences involved fighting numerous people together. She was notably absent from a press event the next day.

Actress Trisha was in trouble when a group of Jallikattu supporters had heckled her on Friday in Chennai.

Bull-taming sport supporters have disrupted Trisha’s work while she was shooting for her film ‘Garjana’ in Sivagangai, some 460 km south of Chennai. The film’s shoot was stalled due to the protesters.

Protesters rounded Trisha’s vanity van demanding that she should come out of her van where she had taken refuge. Angry protesters didn’t let up and it happened only after police came to Trisha’s rescue and escorted her to safety.

Apparently, Jallikattu supporters have been fuming over Trisha who is endorsing PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals).

The slogan-shouting protesters stated that they will not allow Trisha to shoot in Tamil Nadu if she did not apologize and withdraw her support to the animal rights organization.

Interestingly, several Jallikattu supporters in Tamil Nadu are demanding a ban on PETA.

There is also controversy that the huge collection that the movie grossed with Premiere shows is due to the t-mobile promotion. The company gave tickets for mere $2 as part of its company’s promotion and American Telugus grabbed this opportunity to buy the tickets of “Khaidi No 150” on that day.

The film has now crossed 1.5 million dollars on Thursday. Total cumulative figure is $1,508,824. This is biggest total for any Telugu movie for the first three non-weekend days.

After delaying for long and conducting several screen tests, finally Anupama Parameswaran has been finalised for Ram Charan-Sukumar film. The likes of Rashi Khanna, Samantha, Sai Pallavi, Keerthy Suresh and Amala Paul were considered.

Hyderabad: Tollywood actress Rambha was on Thursday summoned by the Banjara Hills police in a dowry harassment case registered in 2014, when she had come to the city from Canada for a film shoot.

Based on the petition moved by Rambha’s sister-in-law Pallavi in July 2014, a local court directed Banjara Hills police to register a dowry harassment case against five persons including Rambha, her brother Srinivasa Rao and their parents Venkateshwar Rao and Usha Rani under section 498-A (subjecting a married woman to cruelty) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and sections 3 & 5 of the Dowry Prohibition Act.

After registering the case, police filed a chargesheet against the five accused, including Rambha and the court issued summons to her for appearance.

As Rambha was residing at Canada with her family, police failed to serve her with the summons a few times earlier.

On January 10 this year, police came to know that Rambha was in the city to attend a film shoot. So they served her with the summons at Padmalaya studios to appear before the court.
