First Look: Ungarala Rambabu

Share

sunil

The title of comedian-turned-hero Sunil’s upcoming film ‘Ungarala Rambabu’ has been released and it is quite innovative.

A rose flower has been strikingly presented as a man’s face with big moustache and wearing goggles. The chain of rings is probably to justify the title.

Sunil’s career has been marred with flops for the past 2-3 years and he is patiently waiting for a decent hit to bounce back. Ungarala Ramababu is being directed by Kranthi Madhav, who has earlier directed serious yet acclaimed films like ‘Onamalu’ and ‘Malli Malli Idhi rani Roju’. How well he can direct a comedy film starring Sunil is worth waiting.

Zero To Hero – Nani Turms Emotional

Fans erecting cutouts for their favorite heroes ahead of their film releases is very common in tollywood. However, Nani seems to have been touched by this and he has a commendable gratitude message for his fans.

Several cutouts of Nani have been placed at theatres across the Telugu states as his latest film ‘Nenu Local’ hit screens today. Cutouts are not new to this ‘Natural Star’ but he looks to be touched by the cutout placed at the iconic Sudarshan 35MM theatre at RTC X Roads in Hyderabad.

He said that when he was a child, he stood at the feet of the cutouts of many films and expressed his happiness after watching a cutout of his standing taller than the theatre itself. He thanks his fans for making him what he is today and promised to keep entertaining them as long as he could.

Nani is no doubt a self-made star who reached to the top from the stage of a nobody so his child-like happiness is understandable.

Meanwhile, stay tuned for the review of ‘Nenu Local’ that will be posted on Gulte shortly.

TCS techie clicks selfie, commits suicide

Barely a few days ago we have heard of the murder of a female techie in Bangalore and now another tragic death of an IT professional is reported in Pune.

A 23-year-old techie committed suicide on Thursday by hanging himself at his residence in the IT Park, Pune. Police said that he also clicked a selfie posing with a bedsheet strangling his neck and sent it to a friend before committing suicide.

The deceased has been identified as an employee of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). A native of Kanpur, UP, Abhishek joined the company some 8-9 months ago. “He lived in a rented flat with three friends, who all were present in the flat when he hanged himself in another room. The reason for his suicide has not been ascertained yet,” said the police report.

In their statements given to the police, the deceased’s friends said that although they were present in the flat, they had no idea that he was going to take the extreme step of ending his life. ‘After a friend of Abhishek, who received the selfie sent by him, called us frantically, we rushed to his room and broke the lock only to found him hanging,’ they added.

Abhishek’s body has been sent for autopsy and a case has been registered.

Krish & Venky Concentrating Same

Director Krish is currently the one audiences are looking forward to after he delivered such a stunner with Gautamiputra Satakarni. But there is a beauty of this film and the other ones he made.  Balayya’s 100th movie carved by him is a purely historical movie (though there are fictional elements) but rest of his film flaunt different character altogether.

Say it Vedam, Gamyam, Kanche or Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum, Radhakrishna Jagarlamudi has always proved his potential not just as a director but as a philosopher and guide too. Leaving the commercial success of the film at box office, audiences will have much to learn and understand from these movies. On a lighter note, some say, Krish is good at giving lectures to audiences and the way he takes ‘class’ onscreen is touching.

Now that he’s getting ready to make a movie with Venkatesh, one wonders what is he going to do this time. Apparently this is not a historical subject, so we can expect Krish to come up with another philosophy laced touching subject only. If there is no ‘class’ inside the film, then that will be not be a Krish film. So get ready for the lecture folks.

We hear that even Venkatesh is looking forward to share his gyan about philosophy and ways of life with audiences. As he happens to be an ardent disciple of Ramana Maharshi and Osho, he wants to incorporate some of that stuff in this film of Krish, says a source.

Meanwhile Venky’s Guru release is postponed for unknown reasons, and Venky has announced about his film officially. Either it would be Krish’s philosophy or Puri Jagan’s action film. Watch this space for updates.

Strategic Silence: KCR Asks Ministers To Stay Away from Media

Telangana Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao seems adopted new strategy. He decided to maintain strategic silence on the raw deal got the T state in the allocations in the union budget 2017-18 presented by union finance minister Arun Jaitley on Wednesday.

KCR is neither opposed nor praised the Prime minister Narendra’s Modi’s government on the budget and allocations to Telangana state. He also instructed his cabinet colleagues not to make any comments or statements on the central budget until the government got a clarity on the funds.

Anticipating media would quiz him, the chief minister also cancelled press conference in the last minute and instructed his cabinet colleagues not leak any information except policy decision to the media.

In the cabinet meeting presided over by him in the Secretariat, KCR discussed in detail the central budget and sought the ministers opinion on the central assistance required to complete the schemes in telangana state in the next financial year.

KCR strongly felt that maintaining restraint at this juncture would help the state in the future as state harped on the centre for more funds to complete mission kakatiya and mission Bhagiratha schemes.

The Chief minister instructed the ministers to prepare the list of the schemes required central funding as he is planning to meet Modi in March and apprise the PM of the financial crisis in the state. The cabinet has approved eight irrigation projects, recruitment in mission bhagiratha and new medical college in Mahabubnagar etc.

Wearing a white top and giving a pleasing view of her cleavage, Anushka looks all regal and alluring. No wonder people call Virat Kohli a lucky guy.

Do They Want Duets For Saibaba?

Share

Sometimes we keep on reading comments like: “Production standards are not upto the mark”. For critics who pose those questions similar to this, actor and producer Akkineni Nagarjuna has given some befitting replies.

While promoting “Om Namo Venkatesaya” movie, Nagarjuna reacted quite sharply when quizzed about the production standards of the movie. He stated that directors and producers take calls basing on the subject but this particular ‘production standards’ expected by critics doesn’t always hold good.

He quipped, “Some critics have commented that the making standards of Saibaba movie are not upto mark. What do they want? We’ve chosen those ragged torn costumes for Saibaba because he used to wander in similar costumes all the time. Can we pick bright and fine stitched clothes for him? Look at his place in Shirdi, what more than that we’ve to recreate here? Should we add a heroine and some duets or what?”

Of course, colourful frames, expensive looking artwork and presence of many costly artists often gives a perception to some critics that the production standards are great. But it isn’t that way. Nagarjuna has well explained it.

Scene Reverse For Kajal, Samantha

Share

sam

Accommodating two actresses in a film is very common these days but filmmakers rarely dare to cast two top heroines in a film. Budget restrictions, cat fights and egos are some of the uninvited burdens that come along with the craze of two top actresses.

Kajal and Samantha however are tow top league heroines who are gearing up to be seen together in a film for the third time. The duo was earlier seen in NTR’s ‘Brindavanam’ and Mahesh’s ‘Brahmotsavam’. They will next act together in #Vijay61 to be directed by Atlee.

During ‘Brindavanam’, Kajal was a top actress and Samantha was a newbie. She had only ‘Ye Maya Chesave’ to her credit at that time. When the duo again came together for ‘Brahmotsavam’, Samantha was at the top of her game and Kajal was sort of making her comeback after a brief gap. They didnt share screen space in this film though.

Now, by the time them signed #Vijay61, both of them are sitting pretty much idle. Ever since, Sam’s love story with Chaitu was made official, she wasn’t roped in a Telugu film yet. Although Kajal scored a hit with Khaidi No.150, it didn’t help her fading career in any manner. #Vijay61 is actuallyu a much needed biggie for both the starlets.

While Brindavanam became a big hit, Brahmotsavam became a huge disaster. Let’s see what sort of luck these two hot ladies brings to #Vijay61. Jyothika is playing another heroine in the Vijay satrrer and we hear that all the three ladies will have equal screen time.

Balayya, Be careful of Sarvabhouma!

Share

bala

Balayya has in the past few years chosen films having powerful titles like Legend, Simha, Dictator, Lion, Adhinayakudu etc. No one is sure if he has paid as much attention to thee stories as to the titles because barring a few, all of these powerful titles resulted in duds at box office. It seems that Balayya is currently toying with another powerful title, ‘Sarvabhouma’.

During the promotions of his latest film GPSK, Balayya reiterated that he would henceforth do only content driven films and not fall in the trap of mass films with unconvincing dialogues and fights. Staying true to his words, he is yet to sign a film even though experienced directors like Krishna Vamsi, KS Ravi Kumar, P Vasu etc. have narrated stories to him.

The latest we hear is that Satya Deva who made his directorial debut with Balayya’s ‘Lion’ has registered ‘Sarvabhouma’ title with Film Chamber and is planning to make an action entertainer starring Balayya.

A senior hero like Balayya giving a chance to a debut director was surprising but Balayya somehow believed in the subject. In the end, critics opined that the basic point of ‘Lion’ was interesting but the inexperienced director narrated the film in a tedious manner and caused it to become a flop.

Now, the ‘Sarvabhouma’ title looks too powerful to be missed. If Balayya decides to do this film, he needs to ensure there was a decent subject and also make sure if Satya Deva can handle it or not. Post GPSK, Balayya’s craze has reached another level and he needs to be cautious to not lose it.

Nag Takes 10 Years for His 100th Film?

Share

nag

After megastar Chiranjeevi and Balayya Babu’s landmark 150th and 100th films respectively, discussions about Nagarjuna Akkineni’s 100th film have also commenced in film circles. Akkineni fans are quite kicked about the milestone of their favorite hero but going by Nag’s comments, #Nag100 looks highly doubtful.

Nag has recently said that not his fans but he himself would take a call on his 100th film. The actor so far has some 92 films to his credit. However, Nag said that he wouldn’t consider the films in which he played guest roles and cameos as his starrers so as per Nag, his total would be around 80 only.

Even if the actor races against time and do two films a year, it would take him another 10 years to reach the 100th film. The actor is already 57 and we can’t expect him to continue playing lead roles for another 10 years. He might shift to potential supporting roles but then again he wouldn’t consider them as his films so the 100th film mark looks a distant dream as of now.

Given how the tastes of audiences have changed from routine commercial to content driven films and how the hero worship is slowly fading away, expecting movie lovers or even fans to have same enthusiasm over Nag’s 100th film after 10 years is too much to ask for.

The actor doesn’t look worried about his 100th film at all and it would be better if fans also don’t think of it as of now or it might lead to huge disappointment. Meanwhiel, Nag’s ‘Om Namo Venkatesaya’ is all set to hit screens on February 10.

Why Is KCR Silent On Central Budget?

Share

KCR

Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao seems to be the only chief minister in the country who has not reacted on the Union budget presented by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Wednesday.

Much to the surprise of the political pundits, KCR did not react either positively or negatively on the budget. Instead, he asked his officials on Thursday to make a deep study as to what had come to Telangana from the Central budget.

“KCR, who staunchly supported the NDA government’s demonetisation move, should explain what benefit accrued because of note ban,” former Union minister and senior Congress leader S Jaipal Reddy said on Thursday.

“KCR, who supported note exchange, should explain what benefit came along. He supported such a big step though it did not concern him. Since it miserably failed, he (Rao) should give an explanation. Have you (Rao) achieved anything in this Budget for Telangana? He should explain that also,” he said.

He said the Union Budget has disappointed all sections of society as it failed to provide relief following demonetisation.

“This is not a routine budget. Because of the circumstances and the backdrop to the Budget, disappointment and despair grew among people,” he told reporters here.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi made no mention of demonetisation in his comments on the Budget after its presentation. The economic situation in the country deteriorated due to the NDA government’s rule in the last two and half years, he claimed.

“Investments have come down. Consumption has declined. There are no new industries and jobs have come down. There is under-utilisation of installed capacity in industries. Our economic situation is very grim and note exchange came in the deteriorated economic situation,” he said.

50+ Heroine Still Dancing For Money?

Share

sri

Bollywood has this tradition of star heroes and heroines attending wedding events just to dance for 10-15 minutes and then collect crores as their pay cheque. What makes anyone wonder is that if this senior heroine is still doing the same.

Apparently at a recent ‘big’ wedding in a Telugu state, senior heroine Sridevi appeared along with her daughter. At the same event, Bollywood’s current heartthrob Ranvir Singh also danced for couple of hours, at some intervals. For that he charged more than 5 crores as per insider information. What makes anyone wonder is that, unlike other guests, Sridevi kept on changing her outfits and then made appearances at the event.

Going by some of the videos from the event, we have to say that even Sridevi took fee to dance at the place. Though she’s very close to the businessman whose family wedding it is, her continuous appearance on dance floor is creating all these doubts.

On the flip side, the senior 50+ starlet made sure that her elder daughter Janvi Kapoor gets enough attention from all the photographers for her hot looks. Also she’s declining to act in any south movie until and unless the remuneration is above 1 crore.

Seerat Kapoor, who made her Telugu cinema debut with Sharwanand’s ‘Run Raja Run’ looks to be on the verge of becoming the next hot bombshell of tollywood.

This is no exaggeration and one will understand our point of view after having a look at this ultra-hot picture. Wearing a transparent robe, the curly beauty has exposed her shapely assets in black lingerie.

Her next outing in Telugu is Nagarjuna’s ‘Raju Gari Gadhi 2’. She might be looking for just one potential film to bring out her raunchy side. Any takers for this hot lady?

Very excited for 'Baahubali 2': Tamannaah Bhatia

Tamanna.

Mumbai: Actress Tamannaah Bhatia is looking forward to the release of “Baahubali 2” in April.

“I am very excited for ‘Baahubali 2’, which is coming out in April. The first part has already garnered so much interest, love and appreciation. I am looking forward to seeing the audience’s reaction this time too,” the “Himmatwala” star said.

The Indian epic historical fiction film, directed by S.S. Rajamouli, stars Prabhas in the lead. The film is scheduled for worldwide release on April 28.

Tamannaah spoke on the sidelines of the Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2017 here on Wednesday.

Talking about fashion, she said: “In Mumbai, we all sweat a lot in summer. So, the fabric that you wear is what really matters. I would say one should wear cotton and Indian fabrics which are suitable for this weather, and you will feel comfortable.

“However, if you really want to look smashing, then go for that dress you want to wear.”

For Tamannaah, fashion has become a part of life.

“I enjoy fashion now… It’s like waking up and living with it. I love to attend fashion shows,” the 27-year-old actress said.

Will Pawan Share Dais With Jagan?

Share

jagan-pawan11486036537

The special category status for Andhra Pradesh has become a rallying point for actor-turned-Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan and YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy. Both have been waging a bitter battle for the same but adopting their own respective strategies.

The peculiar aspect of the agitation by both the leaders is that Pawan has been attacking the Bharatiya Janata Party in general and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union minister M Venkaiah Naidu in particular for denying special category status to Andhra Pradesh. He even went to the extent of raising the bogey of north-south divide to whip up the passions on self-respect of Andhras.

However, he has been adopting a soft approach towards Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, though he politely questions as to why Naidu has remained silent when Modi is doing injustice to the state. In one way, Pawan has given a benefit of doubt to Naidu, saying the latter must be under compulsion to compromise on the special category status. Reason is that Pawan knows he cannot become the chief minister at any cost, by targetting Naidu, but comes a hero if he sticks to the issue and question the Centre.

On the other hand, Jagan has a different agenda. His primary objective is to pull down Naidu government and become chief minister of Andhra Pradesh as soon as possible. So, he has to attack Naidu and expose his ineffectiveness. He largely maintains restraint on attacking the Centre for going back on the special category status and does not utter a word against Modi, for obvious reasons better known to himself and all others, who have been observing the state politics.

Under these circumstances, the statement from Pawan that he is ready to join hands even the Leader of Opposition to fight for special category status has raised many an eyebrow. First of all, is it possible for the two leaders of varied strategies to come on the same dais? If the come together, Jagan should attack Modi and Pawan should attack Naidu. Does it happen?

Thirdly, Pawan has some “thikka” but with some “lekka,” whereas Jagan has a single point agenda to become the chief minister. So, will Pawan help Jagan realise his dream? And fourthly, will Jagan allow Pawan to hog limelight among the people? Because the YSRC chief does not want anybody else, except him, to get the attention of a hero. Let us wait and see.

Andhra BJP Leaders Irritating Naidu!

Share

babu-3

Bharatiya Janata Party leaders in Andhra Pradesh seem to have completely understood the weakness of Telugu Desam Party president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu. They have realised that Naidu cannot come out of the NDA at this stage, because he desperately needs of the BJP, if his party wants to retain power in the next elections, too.

However, what they have not understood is that Naidu was a stubborn politician who cannot succumb to pressures. So, they have started attacking him and his style of functioning so as to irritate him and get their works done.

In the forefront of such BJP leaders is party MLC Somu Veerraju. After keeping silent for some time under pressure from BJP national president Amit Shah and Union minister M Venkaiah Naidu, the Andhra BJP leader has started questioning Naidu for misusing the Central funds to benefit only the TDP leaders.

“Forget about the state schemes, even in the Centrally-sponsored schemes, Naidu has been largely ignoring the local BJP leaders. He has appointed Janma Bhoomi committees with completely TDP activists to oversee implementation of central schemes. Not a single BJP leader is there in any of the committees,” Veerraju lamented.

In the construction of houses under Pradhan Mantri Grameen Yojana scheme, 1.41 lakh hosues were constructed and not a single house was allotted to any BJP activist and all the houses were allotted to the TDP workers. Even among pensions, the beneficiaries are mostly TDP supporters. “How can we treat the TDP as our alliance partner?” he asked.

Pawan Kalyan's 'Press Note' Combinations!

Pawan Kalyan announces movies like no other big star does. You have read it right, he just announces, not takes them to the sets.

Though he is one of the biggest stars in India, Pawan Kalyan doesn’t mind dropping off the announced projects, or sending press releases just for the sake of it.

In the past, Pawan Kalyan announced that he would be producing a film with Ram Charan. He did this two or three years ago. Still, this combination has not materialised.

Later he sent a press note saying he would be making a movie called “Kobali” in the backdrop of Rayalaseema with Trivikram. That went into backburner.

Two years ago, Pawan Kalyan also made announcement about a movie for Dasari Narayana Rao’s production but it has not gone to the sets yet.

The star is showing more interest in announcing them than doing them. Now, he has announced a movie with his brother Megastar Chiranjeevi in the direction of Trivikram for producers Ashwini Dutt and T Subbarami Reddy.

Social media has been trolling when the announcement of Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan movie came.

“This film might go once Pawan Kalyan – Ram Charan, Pawan Kalyan – Dasari movies get released,” joked a Pawan Kalyan fan on social media.

Don't Worry Indian Students! US Universities Assure

In the wake of the executive order and immigration reforms proposed by the US president Donald Trump, educational institutions in the United States are reportedly putting up extra efforts to assure foreign students of their full support.

Representatives from several institutions are sending official communiques to their authorized recruiters in other countries, especially India, promising to safeguard the interests of the foreign students. The summary of the communication from US varsities is that they would do everything in their capacity to enable foreign students and staff continue their education and work respectively.

International students are currently worried over the speculated proposals in the new bill which could not just tighten rules for H-1B visas but also limit OPT (Optical Practical Training) that allows foreign students with F-1 visas to secure jobs after study. US institutions on the other hand are assuring that they would ensure the proposals in the Bill would not be accepted in the House of Commons.

Already the management of several varsities has raised its voice against Trump’s reforms as they knew that their revenues would take a hit if the restrictions force foreign students from seeking admissions. It is no secret that foreign students bring in huge revenues to the US institutions and they feature in the world’s top varsities mainly because of those who come from across the world to study and teach.
