The recent agreement entered between Telangana and Maharastra governments on construction of projects on river Godavari has turned into a political issue between two Telugu states.

YSRC asked Chandrababu Naidu as to why he is maintaining stoic silence on the projects as Andhra Pradesh will be badly affected with the projects taken up by Telangana.

While KCR has been on an agreement signing spree with Maharashtra, Naidu did not even question him though the state division act clearly mentions that Andhra Pradesh should be a party to all water sharing agreements,’ party leader Vasireddy Padma said.

To build a project on Krishna or Godavari rivers permission from the apex body, Central Water Commission and other relevant authorities are required and the consent of Andhra Pradesh should be taken.

If KCR has his way and builds projects without being questioned, Godavari delta will become a desert and being silent at this juncture is nothing but mortgaging the interest of State for personal gains, she said adding that KCR stating that his state’s share of Godavari waters is 954 TMC has to be contested. Even the TDP ministers in the Union cabinet do not speak out putting the farmers’ future in a quandary.

As Jana Sena activists are prepping up to organise a massive public meeting on Saturday in Indira Maidan at 4 PM where Jana Sena chief-actor Pawan Kalyan is going to address, political analysts are pointing out that Pawan’s impromptu meeting and describing it as a ‘right move, wrong timing’ act.

Pawan had headed to Tirupati on Thursday after his 24-year-old fan Vinod Royal was murdered allegedly by fan group of rival star. Moved by this, Pawan visited the bereaved family’s house and condoled them. Pawan further demanded that justice should be done to the victim’s family. Many thought that this was the end of the issue.

However, this isn’t all. Pawan hasn’t planned his return journey and continued his stay in Tirupati. Taking many by surprise, Pawan said to have asked party activists to organise a grand Sabha out-of-the-blue. Already, Pawan has earned a bad reputation for announcing and procrastinating things. He’s often criticised for his spontaneous, sharp and imbalanced nature and he’s said to have proved this again with his decision to held a massive public meeting.

While the agenda of this public meeting is still not clear yet, leaders of political parties and analysts are taking dig at the meeting saying it’s ‘wrong timing’ to do. With Pawan’s elder brother Chiru too did a feat like this earlier in Tirupati while launching Praja Rajyam on Aug 26, 2008, it needs to be seen whether Pawan following Chiru’s footsteps in politics or will he break the jinx and be successful.
