During the film’s shooting, Hrithik had pranked Pooja Hegde so bad that she decided never to trust him. Apparently, Hrithik makes Pooja eat a chalk piece claiming it was a ‘protein bar.’ Hrithik somehow convinced Pooja to take a big bite of the piece of chalk only later to realize what she really has eaten.

Hrithik convinced hesitant Pooja by saying, “Generally, protein bars don’t taste very well, but one has to try them for the proteins. All good things that you consume look weird but are healthy. All the bad things look good but are bad for health.”

Poor Pooja trusted Hrithik and obediently took a bite of the chalk piece and ever since she decided never to trust his suggestions on food items.

Telangana’s IT Minister KTR surely has a soft corner for Tollywood stars and a strong penchant for watching quality Telugu films. In the past, KTR lauded films like Baahubali and Srimanthudu and also appreciated the star cast.

Universal hero Kamal Haasan’s younger daughter Akshara Haasan is working as assistant director for her dad’s directorial film Sabash Naidu in which her elder sister Shruti Haasan is playing one of the lead roles. Luckily, when no producer is keen on signing this short girl, Akshara bagged a biggie now.

If reports are anything to go by, Akshara Haasan is offered a crucial role in Tamil star hero Ajith’s 57th film to be directed by Siva of Souryam, Veerudokkade and Vedalam fame. Kajal Agarwal will be playing female lead in the movie to be produced by Tyagarajan.

If the news about Akshara is true, this will be her first movie in Tamil. The actress forayed into films with Amitabh Bachchan and Dhanush starred Bollywood film Shamitabh which was a debacle at box office. Then, she signed another Hindi movie Lali Ki Shaadi Mein Ladu Deewana which was shelved.Kamal Haasan won’t recommend his daughters to any filmmakers or stars for film offers. Instead, he roped in Akshara to learn ‘film making process’ with his new film Sabash Naidu. Now, Akshara got second chance to prove her acting skills. Hope, she makes full use of it.

Ex-Australia PM Rudd wants top U.N. job, asks Canberra to endorse nomination

Former Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd on Monday revealed he wanted to succeed Ban Ki-moon as the next United Nations Secretary General, asking Canberra to endorse his nomination.A growing list of candidates have declared their interest in becoming the world’s top diplomat, including UNESCO chief Irina Bokova of Bulgaria and former New Zealand Prime Minister and head of the U.N. Development Programme Helen Clark.

The Mandarin-speaking Mr. Rudd, who is based in New York as head of the policy institute Asia Society, served as Labor Prime Minister from 2007 to 2010 and again in 2013.

It is for the Cabinet to decide

Foreign Minister Julie Bishop said on Monday he had officially asked for government backing, with the cabinet to consider the request.“Kevin Rudd has requested that the Australian government nominate him and, as the Prime Minister has indicated on a number of occasions, that’ll be a matter for Cabinet,” she told Sky News. “I’ll certainly put the matter forward.”Candidates must be nominated by their governments, with Mr. Ban due to stand aside on January 1.

For decades, the choice of the U.N. chief has been in the hands of the Security Council and its five permanent members — Britain, France, China, Russia and the United States — in a process largely kept behind closed doors. But the General Assembly last year voted to shake up the process, asking candidates to send a formal application letter, present their resumes and appear at hearings.

Security Council decision binding

The final decision still rests with the Security Council, but the new openness could put some pressure on big powers to pick a nominee with broader appeal.Rudd was elected Australian Prime Minister in the 2007 general election in a landslide defeat of John Howard, but in his first term was dumped by colleagues fed up with his style of management. He became Foreign Minister in Julia Gillard’s government.

He remained popular with the electorate and Labor returned to his leadership in June 2013, making him Prime Minister for a second time.A former diplomat who has long studied China, Mr. Rudd was an outward-looking Prime Minister whose love of travel earned him the nickname “Kevin 747.”

China signals firmer anchorage in the SCS with new supply ships

china

China has flown a long range bomber over the disputed Spratly islands and commissioned two naval supply ships, reinforcing its intent to deepen its anchorage in the South China Sea (SCS), in defiance of Tuesday’s ruling by an international arbitral tribunal in The Hague.

The Chinese website mil.huanqui.com is reporting that that two large supply ships, Honghi and Luomahu, of 20,000 tonnes each, were commissioned on Friday at an unnamed naval port in the Guangdong provinceTypically, supply ships replenish warships, far away from the coast, signaling China’s intent to maintain a durable naval presence in the high seas.

Strategic bomber

Besides, the same website is reporting that the Chinese air force has published a picture of its modern H-6K strategic bomber overflying the Scarborough shoal in the Spratly islands, which is in the cross-hairs of a dispute between China and the Philippines. The H-6K is a long range bomber, with a nuclear capability, which has been designed to target U.S. aircraft carrier groups.

China took effective control of the Scarborough Shoal in 2012 after a long standoff, but has not militarised it yet. Beijing’s assertion, nevertheless, triggered an alarm in the Philippines, bringing into sharper focus the military defence treaty between Manila and Washington.

More assertive response likely

The U.S. has now got the approval to establish five military bases in the Philippines. Analysts say that the militarisation of the shoal by China, which could develop an airstrip there, is likely to be viewed as a “red line,” which could lead to a more assertive response by Washington.

Chinese media is also reporting that preparations are being made to deploy floating nuclear reactors, which can be used for de-salinisation, in order to deliver ample quantities of fresh water as well as generate electricity for personnel deployed in the disputed Spratly islands. The reports, if affirmed would yet again underscore Beijing’s intent towards establishing a firmer entrenchment in the SCS.While the U.S. and Japan have been vocal in seeking compliance from China of the award, they have been unable to forge a united position across large parts of the globe.

EU statement

On Friday, the European Union issued a statement on the tribunal’s ruling, but did not make any direct reference to China, signaling divisions within the ranks of the 28-nation grouping. Reuters is reporting that Britain, France and Germany insist that Beijing must uphold international law, if it wishes to play a bigger global role. But countries, dependent on Chinese investment, such as Hungary and Greece are unwilling to take a more categorical position.

Similarly, the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) that concluded on Saturday failed to make any reference to the SCS in its closing statement. The fall-out of the ruling was, however, felt in Vietnam — another country which hotly disputes China’s claims in the South China Sea. Scores of protesters were arrested in Hanoi, after they gathered in ananti-China protest in the aftermath of the tribunal’s ruling.

Images of LeEco’s un-named smartphone with an unusually odd camera setup has leaked online.

Chinese popular Weibo tipster @KJuma has posted a series of pictures of LeEco’s yet-to-be-released handset. It’s back panel looks like it is made of metal, but what’s interesting is the camera. It shows the device featuring a curvaceous square-shaped camera module with two lenses and dual-tone LED flash below it. The whole module looks like a face of Japanese tree spirit anime character Kodama, a white humanoid with large, rattling heads and mask-like features, which appear in the “Princess Mononoke” fantasy TV series.

Just below the camera setup, there is a fingerprint sensor and further down, we see the LeEco’s “LE” engraving. The company has also incorporated white plastic antenna lines on the top and bottom edges. On the front side, its display has a very thin bezel at the right and left side of the edge. Whereas, at the top, we see one camera and a sensor with a single-grille speaker between them. At the bottom, the phone features back-lit capacitive buttons- back, home (in the shape of LeEco logo) and recents.

There is no word on the name of LeEco’s mystery phone but it said to be rumoured phone codenamed LEX720. It is expected to boast Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, 4GB RAM and 32GB inbuilt storage.LeEco has not made any official comments on the LEX720 phone, but the leaked images hint that the device is a final product. There is no doubt that the company will soon make the phone public.
