Shabash Kamal!
Earlier we reported that Kamal Haasan, Shruti Haasan are sharing the screen space for Shabhsh Naidu. The trilingual film being made in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil now ran into trouble it seems. Being shot in US, the film’s director TK Rajeev Kumar has fallen ill. While initially Kamal directed a song sequence of the film till Rajeev is recovered, he recovered slightly and again fallen severely ill.
Now Kamal Haasan has taken over the reigns of the film and he himself is directing the movie. The multi-faceted actor-writer-director Kamal is helming the most-awaited project. It’s learnt that there’s nothing to worry about Rajeev’s health and he is expected to recover. But Rajeev could only recuperate in few months and this is against to the scheduled release of film in August. In order to make it up, Kamal decided to wield the megaphone.
Kamal’s role in Shabash Naidu is a take-off from the character Balram Naidu, a Research Analysis Wing officer that Kamal Haasan played in Dasavatharam which the audience loved. Ace comedian Brahmanandam has been roped into play his side kick Appa Rao in the Telugu and Tamil versions whereas Saurabh Shukla will reprise Brahmi in the Hindi version.The film features actress Ramya Krishnan in a significant role. Maestro Ilayaraja has rendered tunes for the film.
A Warning To Chiranjeevi!
Mega Star Chiranjeevi has stirred a hornet’s nest as he stated that he is in favour of SC categorisation. This drew the ire of Mala Mahanadu leaders who took to road to stage protest against the actor-turned-politician. Mala Mahanadu National president Chennaiah and other leaders demanded Chiru to retract his statement.
Mala Mahanadu leaders on Monday gathered at Ambedkar statue on Tank Bund and they threatened that they won’t allow Chiranjeevi to roam in both Telugu states unless he take back on his statement. The protesters have raised slogans against Chiru and burnt his effigy.
“After failing to run his political party, he has sold it. And his support to SC categorisation doesn’t hold any significance. It’s of poor taste. We will not allow him to walk free in the both Telugu states till he retracts his decision,” said Mala Mahandu president Chennaiah.With protests turning into serious, police stepped into action and took the Mala Mahandu leaders into custody.
KTR’s Surprise Acts!
Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao surprised one and all on Monday by stopping by at a GHMC food centre in Shapur Nagar, Jeedimetla. KTR had Rs 5 meal, the government’s brainchild initiative. Earlier in the day, KTR had paid a surprise visit in Sri Nagar Colony following news reports that commuters facing severe problems with the road work being stopped midway.
The road stretch between Ameerpet and Panjagutta is under repair as it has been dug up for laying underground electric cables by the Souther Power Distribution Company Ltd. However, the work was stopped midway by officials of GHMC expecting the arrival of monsoon. Due to this vehicles had to slow down on the busy road leading to traffic jam. And the woes of commuters go up when it’s rained.KTR took note of this situation and ordered GHMC officials to rectify it as early as possible.
Baahubali Beats Srimanthudu In Big Way
Baahubali: The Beginning and Srimanthudu shared awards at several award functions. Surprisingly, there was no big competition for Baahubali at CineMaa Awards. The Prabhas starred and Rajamouli directed movie bagged as many as 13 awards, including best movie, best director, best cinematographer (KK Senthil Kumar) and best actor in negative role (Rana Daggubati).
On the other hand, Srimanthudu won awards in 5 categories, but the movie failed to get awards in prime categories. Srimanthudu won only jury awards in best movie and best director (Koratala Siva) categories. The Mahesh Babu starrer movie shared awards in best music director (Devi Sri Prasad), best editor (Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao) and special appreciation award (Rajendra Prasad).Interestingly, the National Award winner Kanche also has bagged 5 awards- in best story (Krish), best BGM (Chirantan Bhatt), special appreciation award (Krish), best debut actress (Pragya Jaiswal) and best lyric writer (Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry).
Anushka Shetty was announced as best actress for her splendid show in Rudhramadevi. The Gunasekhar directorial has won two other awards. Akkineni young hero Akhil won best debut actor for the film Akhil. Anil Ravipudi received best debut director award. Allu Arjun and Charmi got jury awards in best actor and actress categories.
LG Innotek to supply iPhone 7 Plus’s dual-lens camera module
According to long-rumoured reports, Apple is all ready to take the curtains off the iPhone 7 Plus this year. The latest news from the rumour mills indicated that the camera module on the new device will be manufactured and supplied by LG Innotek, as per sources quoted by Business Korea.
According to the report, LG Innotek will exclusively supply the dual camera module for Apple’s iPhone 7 Plus, which is expected to make its debut by next year. It also pointed out that LG will start shipping the dual camera module starting this month. Earlier reports suggested that Sony was tasked with delivering the camera modules but the company reconsidered its decision, announcing that it was quitting the high-end camera module business in May.While the iPhone 7 Plus will have a dual camera module setup, the iPhone 7 will have the usual single camera module with OIS.
Rumoured specifications
Users might also be interested to know that the upcoming Plus version of the iPhone 7 packs a usual 5.5-inch screen and two 12MP cameras on the rear panel. The flagship smartphone is expected to come along with 3GB RAM, with three storage options—32GB, 128GB, and 256GB.As lucrative as it sounds, these are just rumours and nothing concrete can be confirmed yet.
In terms of the iPhone 7, rumours suggested that the device will pack a 4.7-inch screen and will arrive in three storage variants—16GB, 64GB, and 128GB. Some analysts and tech bloggers have also suggested that the device will come along with a 21MP primary camera.
Lenovo working on bendable displays for smartphones, tablets
In what seems to be an attempt to introduce foldable display smartphones, Lenovo showcased two other devices at its Tech World event with bendable displays.Although the first Project Tango-based smartphone Lenovo Phab 2 Pro stole the spotlight during the Tech World conference, the two other devices with bendable displays were also equally interesting, and more manufacturers are taking keen interest on the feature.The company’s CEO Peter Hortensius showcased CPlus, showcased the CPlus smartphone with bendable display; users can even wear this watch on their wrist, as it bends backwards and fits on the wrist in a matter of seconds.
Moving on, he also demonstrated the Folio tablet, which practically folds in half. Users can not only take calls using the foldable device but also open it instantly and start browsing or use apps. The CPlus handset prototype features a 4.26-inch display but the company pointed out that the final versions will be available in two sizes—a large and a small one—to fit on all wrist sizes. The handset and tablet will utilise an Android OS, which will come in 12 different colors.The company’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Yuanqing Yang, said during the event that the company has been a leading innovator in the field of smartphone technology and acknowledged that the company has started working on bendable displays for smartphones and tablets.
However, there is no confirmation regarding the time when the actual devices will hit stores. On the other hand, Samsung is also looking to launch two devices with foldable displays in 2017. It will fall under the company’s Project Valley that is focused on developing smartphones with flexible displays.These smartphones are expected to make their first appearance during the mobile World Congress 2017.
