Tollywood hunk Rana Daggupati is currently working on 4-5 films. Few months back, he was approached for acting in remake of a Tamil film. Rana was impressed by the original but felt that it would not impress Telugu audience and rejected it. But now, the dubbing version of that film became a blockbuster here.

Yes, we are talking about Vijay Anthony’s ‘Bichagaadu’.

After getting rejected by Rana, the makers have sold the dubbing rights for 50 lakhs. The film started off slowly but the word of mouth publicity made the film a blockbuster. It collected over 10 crores leaving the producers and distributors on cloud nine.If the movie would have remade here, though success cannot be assured, it would have remained as one of the special films in Rana’s career.

Here’s the new look of Tollywood’s macho man Gopichand-starrer Oxygen. Oxygen is being directed by AM Jothi Krishna, son of senior producer AM Ratnam who produced blockbusters like Khushi, Bharateeyudu, Oke Okkadu and Gentleman etc. Oxygen stars Raashi Khanna as the female lead.

Oxygen is completing its shoot swiftly and it will release in cinemas later this summer.

Akkineni Nagarjuna who is basking on the hat trick hits will next be working with senior director K Raghavendra Rao for a devotional film Baba Hathi Ram Ji, a biopic on the godman Hathi Ram Baba who was a great devotee of lord Venkateswara. The movie is likely to go on floors soon.

Latest we heard is popular Hindi TV actor Sourabh Raaj Jain will play lord Venkateswara in the flick. The TV artist is popular for his devotional roles in TV serials such as- Jai Shri Krishna and Mahabharat where he played Lord Sri Krishna. He played the role of Lord Vishnu in Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev. Hence, it is right choice for picking Sourabh for the role of Lord Balaji.

Earlier there were reports that, yesteryear actor Suman will portray the Lord Balaji role. Nonetheless, latest reports suggest that, young actor Sourabh Raaj has replaced him for the role. JK Bharavi, known for the films Annamayya and Sri Ramadasu, is writing the script for Baba Hathi Ram Ji.Baba Hathi Ram was a north Indian settled down in Tirupati. The godman used to worship the main deity daily and many myths say that Lord Balaji himself used to play dice with Baba. Baba had also constructed a mutt near the temple.

The hilarious family entertainer A Aa (Anasuya Ramalingam Vs Anand Vihari) directed by Trivikram Srinivas is already biggest hit in hero Nithin’s career. So, the question is who should be given credit for this success- hero Nithin, million dollar actress Samantha or successful director Trivikram Srinivas?

Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde that minted around Rs 22 cr shares was previous highest grosser for Nithin. Later, the young hero starred in few films which all provided losses to producers. The film A Aa has given him much needed break. Moreover, it has opened market for him in overseas.

Although Nithin has played his part precisely, actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu dominated the show with bubbly and energetic performance. Samantha is sometimes called as million dollar baby, since she has more million dollar collecting films than any other actress in south. Coming to A Aa, she gets more marks in acting category.

But, the success credit should be given to director Trivikram Srinivas for providing a pure family entertainer and scoring blockbuster hit with medium range star. Directors like Rajamouli, VV Vinayak, Boyapati Sreenu etc have their own considerable market value, irrespective of range of stars in their film. Now, Trivikram Srinivas also joins the league with A Aa.Producer S Radhakrishna should also be appreciated for making meaningful films under his production house.
