Alphabet CEO Larry page has had a considerable contribution to the success of Google; apart from his numerous contributions, the co-founder of the search giant is also known for inventing PageRank—Google’s best know search ranking algorithm. However, according to a recent article by Bloomberg, the scientist and internet entrepreneur has bigger plans, which is not related to either Alphabet or Google. Page wants to introduce easier and eco-friendly state-of-the-art modes of transport, just like his close friend Elon Musk.
While Tesla CEO Musk is more focused on building cars, Page’s personal ventures take several leaps further; he plans to introduce ‘flying cars’ or an electric plan that could land and take off vertically. Pretty cool, isn’t it? Well, it might be an amazing project but Page does not want to disclose any details about the project; one reason why he ‘partially’ managed to keep it a secret for all these years.According to the Bloomberg article, it all began three years ago, when the Silicon Valley became unusually suspicious about a start-up called Zee.Aero, which was situated right beside Google’s headquarters. Meanwhile, a reporter had stumbled upon a patent that indicated that the start-up was working on a small, all-electric plane, or a flying car.
At that time, numerous speculative articles were released about the company but it constantly denied having any connection with Google or any other tech giant. While the company stayed mum about any involvement with Google, it turns out that Zee.Aero isn’t a part of Google or Alphabet. It belongs to Larry Page as he personally funded the start-up, and demanded that his involvement stay hidden. Now, after six year since its inception in 2010, the company has 150 employees, operations have expanded to an airport hangar in Hollister. Its operations have expanded massively and now have a manufacturing facility on NASA’s Ames Research Center campus at the edge of Mountain View.
Sources have also revealed that Page has invested approximately $100 million on the start-up. But that’s not all. Page has also backed a second flying car start-up, dubbed Kitty Hawk. While the operations of both the start-ups are blurred, there have been reports that people working at the Hollister airport have seen two Zee.Aero crafts in recent months. Page has a long-term dream which is not only related to solving problems in the virtual world but also to deal equally with real-world problems. While there is no guarantee whether any of these start-ups would be successful in coming out with a pragmatic ‘flying car’, it will surely be an impetus that will drive innovation in the field of advanced vehicle manufacturing.
Mumbai: Recent reports suggested that the social media giant Facebook has integrated a feature that allows users to post videos on the comments section and share 360-degree images on the network. This will allow Android, web and iOS users to reply to comments with videos. This feature applies to all posts by people and pages, and other member groups. In addition to this feature, the company has also introduced another feature for sharing 360-degree photos on the network.
A user can capture a 360-degree image using their device and subsequently share them on Facebook, which can be better examined using a Gear VR or other headsets in the marker.Other than the videos and 360-degree features, Facebook is also working on a SMS support feature in its messenger division, according to reports.According to an Android Police report, the SMS support feature that was being tested in the Facebook Messenger is back again in the laest beta test for Messenger.
However, the revived feature is a little different from the initial one that appeared on earlier. This time around, users of the latest beta version of the Messenger app will have to make it the default SMS application on the devices. On Android devices, the user has to go to the settings menu and enable messenger as the default SMS app. Folks who are using the Beta version of the app will get SMS conversations in purple background instead of the regular blue one.
Sumanth Ashwin, who is known for doing lover boy or student characters, has teamed up with Kalakeya, The Bahubali fame Prabhakar for Right Right, which is a remake of Malayalam film Ordinary. Let’s see what they were up to in Right Right.
Story :
Ravi (Sumanth Ashwin) a newly appointed conductor in APSRTC meets Seshu (Prabhakar) a driver who is a drunkard, but good at heart. They both stay in staff quarters in Gaviti where there is an elderly and respected person Viswanadham (Nasser). Ravi falls in love with local girl Kalyani (Pooja) and she too reciprocates. While everything is going happily for them, Ravi accidentally hits a man with the bus.
Ravi and Seshu asks a stranger to admit him to the hospital. Later they come to know that the man who met with the accident is Viswanadham’s son. They go to the hospital to see if he is alright, but couldn’t find him. After few days police comes and inform Viswanadham that his son was found dead in a valley. Ravi and Seshu have to find the mystery behind Viswanadham son’s death.
Performances:
Sumanth Ashwin has an expressive face and can emote well. He is a fine actor but has his limitations. He doesn’t fit in every role and sadly the lead role he played in Right Right is one that he doesn’t fit into. He hardly looks like a conductor and looks totally out of place in action scenes. Prabhakar is a very ordinary actor who couldn’t emote at all. He is a bad choice for Seshu character. Pooja Zaveri is unfit to be a heroine. She neither has the looks nor the talent. Nasser is good. Raja Ravindra is his usual self. Tagubothu Ramesh is okay.
Technicalities:
Manu’s direction is alright. He did well in maintaining the soul and feel of the story. But he should have taken care about the star cast. A better lead pair could have made this a watchable fare.
JB has talent and he has proved his mettle time and again. He has scored some mellifluous tunes for this film too. Editing is neat. Cinematography is an asset. Sekhar V Joseph’s experience has come in handy. Special effects are tacky. Production values are just about okay.
Thumbs Up:
Thumbs Down:
Analysis:
Right Right script is perfectly alright. It is a well told story despite the cliches and the been-there-seen-that feel to it. Both the male leads don’t fit into their respective roles, which has turned out to be the major problem for Right Right.
Also the second half of the film totally runs on a suspense factor that is obvious and very predictable. So there aren’t surprises in store towards the end. Even the climax wasn’t dealt properly as we can see everything beforehand.
On the positive side, beautiful locations and natural characters along with the cinematographer’s decent output works in favor of the film. Wafer thin story line, bad choice of actors and predictable plot makes it a tiresome watch. Right Right is not an entirely disappointing film but it has more wrongs that overshadow the right elements of it.
Verdict: Takes a Wrong Turn.
Young Sharwanand is scaling into a strong and minimum guaranteed hero safeguarding the producers and buyers money. After completing hat trick hits Run Raja Run, Malli Malli Idhi Rani Roju and Express Raja, he is working on milestone 25th flick. BVSN Prasad is the producer while Chandramohan is debuting as director.
“Sharwanand plays an entertaining policeman. We are happy to be producing his 25th film. He has never attempted such a role before and we are confident that the film will appeal to all sections of the audience,” the film’s producer BVSN Prasad said in a statement.
Star heroes Pawan Kalyan, Mahesh Babu and others symbolized police roles as high intense and action centric characterizations. However, Sharwanand is seeking a lighter vein humor shade in this upcoming flick. The makers have already completed the first schedule of the film, which also stars Lavanya Tripathi. With the second schedule slated to start next week, the plan is to wrap up the film in the next two months.
Maverick Communist Party of India leader K Narayana, who is known for his loose tongue, on Saturday lashed out at power star and Jana Sena Party president Pavan Kalyan for keeping his mouth shut when the Kapu agitation is taking a serious turn.
“Where is Pavan Kalyan? What is he doing when Kapu strongman Mudragada Padmanabham was arrested and innocent Kapu youth are being harassed in the name of violence at Tuni? The man, who boasted that he would fight for the Kapu community cause, is sleeping somewhere, at a time Mudragada is risking his life for the cause. He is a big joker,” Narayana said.
The CPI leader pointed out that Pavan comes before media once in a while to make some silly statements and disappears thereafter.“People are not prepared to listen to your preachings, Mr Pavan. You are not a hero, but a zero in politics,” Narayana said.
