Height Of Sycophancy: Devansh In TDP Posters!
Power makes all the difference; and it is quite common that leaders and cadre of any ruling party will make every attempt to please the bosses with a view to getting political benefits. But some people go to extreme lengths to display their sycophancy.Take for example the poster put up at Tirupati by enthusiastic TDP leaders inviting delegates coming to the Mahanadu to be held at the temple town from May 27 to 29.
As usual, it has the pictures of party founder president N T Rama Rao (of course a small one at a corner); a huge full length picture of TDP president and AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and a big picture of his son and party general secretary Nara Lokesh Naidu, besides the pictures of local TDP leaders, small and big.
But what has caught the attention of the people is the picture of Nara Devansh Naidu, one-year old son of Lokesh and grandson of Chandrababu, in yellow outfit. This has surprised many, as how and when Devansh had joined the TDP. Or it could be the indication to the party cadre that Devansh would be the heir apparent of the party, after Lokesh who is eager to succeed his father Chandrababu. Well, there is nothing more ridiculous than this!
Trivikram Unavailable, Pawan Calls Upon Harish?
Sardaar Gabbar Singh’s failure has put Pawan Kalyan on the back foot. Sardaar couldn’t make use of the unprecedented craze of Pawan Kalyan. Power star is not even making an attempt to make an exciting film to follow it up. Even diehard fans of Pawan Kalyan are unexcited about his project with SJ Surya.
We heard gossips about Trivikram directing Pawan’s next film after SJ Surya’s, but Trivikram right now doesn’t have a storyline that suits the image of Pawan Kalyan it seems. Trivikram also has prior commitments with other heroes before he moves on to the Power project. So who is going to direct Pawan’s next film?
Pawan wants to finish SJ Surya’s film by this December and immediately start his next in January. Pawan doesn’t have much time on his hands as he will get busy with political plans shortly. With Trivikram being unavailable for at least a year from now, Pawan has reportedly called upon Gabbar Singh director Harish Shankar to come up with a story for him. We don’t have confirmed news about this combination but the buzz from film nagar says that this project is very much on.
Only Kona Worrying About The Film
Even Naga Chaitanya forgot about his long delayed project Sahasam Swasaga Sagipo. But, writer Kona Venkat who is co-producing this flick is the only person promoting the movie in social media. He is regularly giving updates about the movie, whereas Chaitu and his director Gautam Menon are not showing any interest even to talk about this film.
Apparently, Naga Chaitanya is distressed for makers go on postponing the film. Sahasam Swasaga Sagipo release was initially planned in December, last year. Owing to financial and other reasons, the movie has been postponed several times. Finally, they have decided to release the movie on July 15th.On the other hand, SSS result is crucial for Kona Venkat than anyone else since his last few films as writer and producer was commercial failures.
SSS has some positives like, Chaitu-Gautam combo earlier delivered hit with Ye Maaya Chesave, AR Rahman composed music, Manjima Mohan grabbed attention for her cute looks and most importantly Rana Daggubati will be seen in a cameo role. However, long delay has turned biggest drawback for the film. Will this movie provide much needed break for Kona Venkat and others in the team?
PVP Lost Rs 100 Crores!
Entrepreneur-turned-film producer Prasad V Potluri, fondly known as PVP aka PV in film circles, said to have lost a whopping Rs 100 Crore in film production. Made his foray in 2011 with Tamil film Rajapattai (Veedinthe), PVP has seen several setbacks. Anushka and Arya-starrer Varna, Size Zero were two major duds PVP Cinema had produced.
While Balupu was an average grosser and a moderate success, even critically acclaimed movie like Oopiri failed to translate into commercial success and resulted in loss in tune of nearly Rs 20 Crore. Oopiri was a cost-failure. And again his latest release Brahmotsavam was opened to divide talk and estimated that buyers would lose big monies as the movie was sold for staggering prices.
Though PVP made money by selling it off to buyers, it’s heard that PVP has to compensate the distributors from the losses. The only saving grace for PVP was Kshanam which he had co-produced. Many thought Mahesh’s Brahmotsavam would bail him out but it looks it’s proving to be other way around. Many in industry circles may say that Rs 100 Crore isn’t big figure for a billionaire like him. But the point is that instances like these are obstructing several other business barons entering into film production.
Upendra To Replace Nag In Soggadu
Soggade Chinni Nayana is a very special movie for Nagarjuna in his 30 years of career. Although Nagarjuna had acted in few mass movies, class and family entertainers were his strength.Another worrying factor for Nagarjuna, before the release of SCN was no other films of his family had collected Rs 40 cr share. The Kalyan Krishna directorial minted over Rs 50 cr shares and proved that Nagarjuna can apt for mass films too.
This game changer film for Nagarjuna will soon be remade in Kannada with remake king Upendra playing lead role. As per reports, Upendra is also willing to direct the movie. Yesteryear actress Prema is finalized to reprise Ramya Krishna in the Kannada version.
The title ‘Matte Hutti Baa, Inti Prema’ is being considered for the movie. It is heard that, they are making slight changes to the script so as to suit to the taste of Kannada audience. The film is likely to go on floors from July.
Samantha Strong Retort To Hater
Off late, actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu is facing tough times with consecutive flops. Although her films are bombing at box office, she still is the prime choice for several stars and filmmakers. It may be mentioned here that, she is part of Pawan Kalyan, Suriya and Vijay’s career best hits.Samantha pins high hopes on A Aa (Anasuya Ramalingam Vs Anand Vihari) starring Nithin and is directed by Trivikram Srinivas. The starlet is promoting the movie vigorously along with other co-stars. She is travelling Bangalore tomorrow to endorse A Aa.
Samantha is a strong lady who gives fitting answers to critics. The actress gave strong reply when a hater predicted A Aa to be another flop for her. Here is their conversation:Samantha Hater: “I am expecting another big flop from @Samanthaprabhu2 through #AAAMovie.”Samantha: “and I am expecting that you turn out to be a fool June 2nd .. If you already aren’t one.”
Social media has become platform for haters to attack actors. Some feel that, anti-fans negative promotions are showing its effect on film fates in recent times.Meanwhile, A Aa promos are striking and are hiking expectations. The film said to be a romantic entertainer with loads of pursuit is all set for grand release on June 2nd.
Varma Backtalk On ‘Hot MLA’ Controversy
It is true that most of the comments and tweets from director Ram Gopal Varma take a dig at someone or something. Few times he criticizes his own movies and himself. But his recent comments on Assam BJP MLA dragged him to unwanted controversy, which RGV did not intend to. RGV did not really make any ‘hot’ comments on actress turned MLA Angoorlata Deka, but his previous comments on other actors and his opinions in few contexts just made people draw conclusion on what he is saying.
After two twitter days of controversy on MLA, Varma came out back-talking that it was just a compliment that was taken as a negative comment. Needless to mention, RGV lashes at detractors saying that it must be their lack of English knowledge or their dumbness quotient that his compliment is finally derived to a sexist comment. He explained that he was just paying a compliment as most MLAs don’t look good.
The actress turned MLA Angoorlata earlier acted in Assamese films and many video songs. She earlier responded on ‘hot MLA’ trending and asked people to stop making those comments. So, RGV’s fresh tweets must be enough to end the controversy and stop people from demanding an apology.
Behind The Scene: A Smart Joke
Amaravati, the non-existent capital of Andhra Pradesh has now been given permission to compete for inclusion in ‘Smart City Mission’ of the Central government. It is a part of 13 more cities that had originally been left out. The glaring difference between Amaravati and other cities is that Amaravati as of now exists only on paper.
How then can it be included in the competition? Simple because permission was given by Union Minister Venkayya Naidu who is Urban Development Minister. The only problem is that Chandrababu will trumpet this inclusion as another great achievement of his when there is nothing to show for it on the ground.
What this means is that the few stray buffaloes, cows and goats, the only residents of Amaravati currently will be rechristened as ‘smart buffaloes and goats’. Monkeys do not qualify because they are already at the helm of affairs in the State.
Superstar On Holiday In US With Family
Chennai: Superstar Rajinikanth, who awaits the release of upcoming Tamil gangster drama “Kabali”, has jetted off on a brief holiday to US with his family.”Having recently completed a schedule of Shankar’s magnum opus ‘2.o’, Rajinikanth decided to take a much needed break to rejuvenate and resume shooting from June. He’s expected to stay in the US for nearly two weeks and return in the second week to join the sets again,” a source close to the 65-year old star told IANS.
In “Kabali”, which is slated for release on July 1, Rajinikanth will be seen playing an ageing gangster. The film’s story is tipped to be based on the real-life story of a Chennai-based don.
In Shankar’s “2.o”, a sequel to blockbuster “Enthiran”, Rajinikanth will return as the popular scientist, Vaseegaran, and he will lock horns with Akshay Kumar in the film.
Nagarjuna Yet To Finalise Akhil’s Movie
Although Akhil has been interacting with several directors, the final decision will be taken by his father Akkineni Nagarjuna. The Akkineni camp say all the reports about Akhil doing the remake of “Kammatipaadam” and okaying director Hanu Raghavpudi’s script are not true.Nagarjuna has given the freedom to Akhil to talk to any director and listen to the scripts but Nag will take the final call. One must recall Nagarjuna didn’t want Akhil to attemp such heavy script for his maiden movie “Akhil”.
He asked his son to select a lighter subject but Akhil reportedly insisted on doing that. And the movie bombed. Only after the failure of his maiden film, Akhil Akkineni has realized his mistake and decided to go with his father’s choices. Akhil was to do his second film in the direction of Vamsi Paidipally but the director is not interested in remaking “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani”. So he asked some time to prepare a new script.
Vamsi Paidipally who went to USA for personal trip will also be coming down to Hyderabad shortly. Nagarjuna will decide the project next month. If Vamsi takes too much time for preparing the script, Nag might go ahead with other directors that Akhil is interacting with.
