One For Telangana, None For AP
In January this year, Union Minister for Urban Development M Venkaiah Naidu announced the first 20 winners of Indian cities which will be made into smart cities on fast track with the central government’s funds. While AP’s Vizag and Kakinada made it to the first round, Telangana was disappointed with no city being selected.
Today, Venkaiah Naidu released the second list of fast track smart cities which has 13 winners. The list includes cities like Lucknow, Warangal, Dharamsala, Chandigarh, Raipur, New Town Kolkata, Bhagalpur, Panaji, Port Blair, Imphal, Ranchi, Agartala and Faridabad.
This time, it’s Andhra Pradesh’s turn to face the setback as the centre left Tirupati out of the smart cities list, further hinting at the growing distance between the Modi-led government and Andhra Pradesh.
The Smart City Mission will see 100 Indian cities developed as smart cities by 2019-20 with the centre providing financial support to the tune of Rs 48,000 crore over 5 years. Water and power supply, sanitation and solid waste management systems, efficient urban mobility and public transportation, IT connectivity, e-governance and citizen participation are some of the highlights of the smart city project.
Hero Hurt with Samantha’s Statement?
Samantha’s statement apparently did not gone well with her beau, young hero. The actor is said to be unhappy on Sam’s public statement as he is yet to inform his parents and get an approval. Although Sam hasn’t revealed his name officially, but gossip mongers are speculating the hero’s name.
Also this said to have become talking point in film fraternity and the actor apparently bombarded with calls. The actor is reportedly a bit embarrassed with this sudden and unexpected attention.
It needs to be seen how the duo is going to handle their issue now on wards. It may be recalled that Samantha said that she is seeing someone from the industry and would tie the knot with him soon and get settle down. She further said that the actor and groom-to-be has no issues with Sam continuing acting in films.
Naidu Goes For The Kill!

The President has given assent to the Andhra Pradesh Special Courts Act, 2015 which was enacted to recover the ill-gotten assets of public servants.YS Jagan’s properties including his media house Sakshi is under attachment by the Enforcement Directorate. Chandrababu for some time now has been boasting that he would take over Sakshi soon. This Act might just make that possible. But it will not be that easy because normally, properties attached by the ED are under the protection of the Union Government.
There has to be a special provision that empowers the State government to take over the properties. It could be another long drawn out legal battle but enough to give Jagan another big headache. Jagan without Sakshi would be like Karna without his Kavacha, Kundalas.

Behind The Scene: Optimism Or Foolishness?
One cannot help feeling sorry for Revanth Reddy. He recently made a statement that it would be a waste for the TDP leaders of Telangana to join the TRS as the TDP will form the government after 2019 elections.TDP forming the government in Telangana? Revanth Reddy and CBN getting caught red-handed in the Stephenson case, has sealed the fate of TDP once and for all in Telangana.
The TDP which until then had been speaking of section 8 in Hyderabad went completely silent on the issue. Naidu who was decorating his offices and houses in Hyderabad has packed up and left Hyderabad for good. Against this backdrop, what can one say about Revanth Reddy’s statement?
Is it that of a man who is positive in any kind of situation or that of a person who just cannot see the writing on the wall? In fact, political analysts say that it is a matter of time before Revanth himself will leave the TDP. There is just no future for the party in Telangana as long as KCR is there.
Can the Mega Hero showcase his new dimension?
Mega Prince Varun Tej is three films old with no proper success in his career so far except for Kanche which is a decent success. The actor so far had played only sober and intense roles. However the first time, the actor is trying his hand in comedy with his next film, Mister directed by Srinu Vaitla.
The regular shooting of the movie began earlier this month in Spain. Lavanya Tripati and Regina Cassandra are the heroines. The actor will be seen as a University Topper in the movie. Once the Spain schedule is complete, from there the team will be going to Brazil. Majority of the film shoot will take place in Karnataka Border.
Srinu Vaitla announced that he is attempting a Love story filled with Action and entertainment after a long time. The film will have Mickey J.Meyer composing the music. This is the first time Mickey scoring music for Srinu Vaitla’s film. He previously scored music for Varun Tej’s debut film, Mukundha. Nallamalupu Bujji is producing this film under his Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Productions Banner. Gopimohan and Sreedhar Seepana are assisting Vaitla in the script work.
Will father turn lucky to son?
Sai Kumar’s son, Aadi after a promising start, did not have any significant success after that. The actor for the first time in teaming up with his father in his next film, Chuttalabbayi. He is hoping that his father will turn lucky this time. Chuttalabbayi recently completed its shooting part and is now in post production.
The audio release event of the film will happen in June and the movie see light in the second week of July. Chuttalabbayi is touted to be a complete youthful entertainer and will showcase Aadi in a new look. Namitha Pramod is playing the female lead in this film. Veerabhadram Chowdary who bagged a big disaster with Nagarjuna’s Bhai will be testing his luck once again with this film.
Thaman is the music composer and the movie unit says he gave some very good tunes for the film. Aadi is desperately trying to make his mark after that back to back flops with Sukumarudu, Gaalipatam and Garam. Venkat Talari along with Ram Talluri are producing the project.
Saahsam Swaasaga Saagipo Release Plan
Naga Chaitanya’s Saahasam Swaasaga Saagipo is already delayed very much. The movie brings the successful combination of Yem Maaya Chesave – Naga Chaitanya and Gautam Menon back but the movie’s delay had wanned out the hype and expectations on the film. The movie shooting is complete last month.
The movie is in extensive post production phase. The makers are planning to have a big fat audio launch event in Hyderabad to bring back the hype on the film. They are also bringing AR Rahman, the music composer of the film, to Hyderabad for the event which is tentatively planned on 17th June. The event was delayed until now due to lack of ARR’s appointment. The makers are planning July 15th release for the film.
The movie is a bilingual and the Tamil version has Simbu playing the lead role. Rumours are rife that Daggubati Rana is playing a little cameo in the film and the official confirmation about this is awaited. Malayali girl Manjima Mohan is playing the female lead in both the versions. The teasers released so far have got very good response.
Nayantara brilliant not to lose money
Producers these days are only meant to lose money. Several Star Heroes and Heroines have also tried hand in production and burnt hands. Recently, there is a buzz that Nayantara is going to turn producer. Kollywood sources say that she will be producing the film which will be directed by a new comer, Jagan.
Jagan is a protege of Tamil Star Producer, AR Murugadoss. The actress will be seen as a collector in the film. However, the actress now denied all these reports and now she clearly stated that she is not turning producer and is only concentration on acting. That means Nayan is not going to lose money.
Nayantara off late, is doing some very interesting roles, the actress has now decided to do some important woman centric films. In Telugu, the actress is shooting for Victory Venkatesh’s Babu Bangaram. Venkatesh and Nayantara until now, romanced together in two films – Lakshmi and Tulasi. Both the films were big hits back then. Fans are hoping that sentiment works out and Nayantara’s inclusion will get yet another hit for their hero.
One more name crops up for Akhil’s next?
The confusion about Akhil Akkineni’s next seem to be far from over. First they said it will be the Bollywood remake of ‘Yeh Jawani Hey Deewani’ in the direction of Vamshi Paidipalli. Then they said it will be a fresh subject with Vamshi. Later there were reports that Vamshi himself walked out of the project as the remake is forced on to him.
Then all of sudden, Boyapati Srinu name cropped up. Akhil took to Twitter and created a big scene asking media not to write news with out consulting him and said he is very much working with Vamshi. Now again there is a buzz that Vamshi is out and Krishna Gaadi Veera Prema Gadha fame Hanu Raghavapudi is in.
Sources say that Hanu managed to impress Nagarjuna and Akhil very much with a subject and is currently prepaing the bound script. The project will be announced once it is complete. Nagarjuna will produce the film himself on his Annapurna Studios Banner. Lets wait for the official announcement!
