It’s Not a remake, It’s an Adaptation
Actor Karthi has quipped that his co-star Tamanna ragged him on the sets of Oopiri. Calling her as ‘senior’, Karthi shared how she treated him on location, albeit jocularly. While Tamanna started her career with Telugu, Karthi is new entrant considering that Oopiri is his first-ever straight Telugu movie despite that many of his Tamil films were dubbed into Telugu.
Talking about the film, Karthi said, “I’m glad I got opportunity to do straight Telugu film with Oopiri. Few films bring commercial success, few bring mass image but very few films bring respect to actors. Oopiri is such film that get respect to all of us.”
Giving a peep into the film, Karthi shared that 50-odd scenes in the film are new different from the original The Intouchables. “It’s better to say it as an adaptation rather than calling a remake. There’re 50-odd new scenes and the treatment, dialogues are fresh. So, it’s not a remake. The film is adapted well to suit the tastes of regional audiences and director Vamshi did a great job.”
Saying that Nagarjuna has treated him as his own brother, Karthi said, “Though he keep calling me brother, he treated me like a king. Whenever I’m in Annapurna Studios, I got royal treatment. I feel like staying in home.
Nagarjuna to lose weight for Raghavendra Rao
King Nagarjuna is one of the fittest actors in Tollywood despite being a senior hero. But the actor still will begin workouts for losing weight. This is for his next film, Om Namo Venkatesa. Raghavendra Rao wants the actor to sport a leaner look in the film.
Nagarjuna will hit gym once he completes the promotions of his Oopiri. The film is on Lord Venkateswara Swamy and his famous disciple, Hathi Rambabaji. The script work is complete and the film will start rolling in May. On the other side, Raghavendra Rao is busy choosing an apt cast for the movie.
The music sittings of the film are going on in Tirupati under the supervision of music director MM Keeravani. We know that Keeravani previously scored sensational music for Annamayya, Sri Ramadasu and Shirdi Sai. K Bharavi penned the story after necessary research.
A.Mahesh Reddy who produced Nagarjuna’s Shirdi Sai will also produce this film under his AMR Sai Krupa Entertainments banner. Nagarjuna is treading experimental path since Manam. He is making sure he comes out with different films.
Lokesh & Ravi Prakash Teaming Up For A TV Channel?
The reports of selling off of the popular news channel TV9 has been the talking point in the media world for the last few days. Telangana CM KCR’s close aide and noted industrialist Jupally Rameswar Rao has reportedly taken over TV9, and this led everyone wondering about TV9’s head honcho Ravi Prakash’s future strategy.
For nearly a decade, Ravi Prakash acted as the partner and CEO of TV9 and played a crucial role in the channel’s success. After starting off as a normal journalist, Ravi Prakash became a key person in Telugu media world and reached a stage where he even called the shots in Telugu politics.
However, unlike in the past where he used to make frequent appearances in the media, Ravi Prakash has of late restricted himself to behind the scenes. However, with his channel’s management changing hands, Ravi Prakash may not be continued in his post.
The latest update is that Ravi Prakash has diverted his concentration towards AP media and is reportedly planning to set up a media house exclusively for AP, even though he is yet to take the big leap.
Already, CM’s son Nara Lokesh is rumored to be planning to set up a news channel in AP. Nayanatara, Anushka and Kajal For Chiranjeevi’s Katthi!
Chiranjeevi is all set to make reentry into films with the Telugu remake of Katthi. VV Vinayak and his team of writers have made subtle changes to the original script to suit to the sensibilities of Telugu audience.
Hero’s characterization is also altered a bit to suit Chiranjeevi’s age and image.
Devi Sri Prasad is confirmed as the music director for this film as Chiranjeevi himself requested DSP to get on board for his film.
Vinayak is busy in finalizing the other technicians and artists. Heroine for this film is yet to be finalized. Nayanatara is being considered as she has done movies with Chiru contemporaries like Nag, Venky and Balayya. So Chiranjeevi is keen on signing up Nayanatara.
Vinayak wants to rope in Anushka as she would add weight to the film. Kajal also is being considered says the buzz.
However Chiranjeevi is not in favor of romancing Kajal as she has done three movies with his son already and currently doing Sardaar with his younger brother. Therefore Nayana and Anushka are the forerunners for Chiranjeevi’s Katthi as of now.
