Mudragada Padmanabham’s latest threat to sit on agitation is definitely stunning many as it’s exactly a month he ended his indefinite hunger strike.
In fresh statement, Mudragada expressed his disappointment and alleged that the AP government has not yet started implementing its promise on welfare for Kapu community Less than a month ago, Mudragada ended his fast unto death and then he expressed his faith on government in keeping up its promises for the development of Kapu community within six months time frame.
Infact, Mudragada sent signals to TDP on his willingness to join TDP and getting into active politics by contesting from Peddapuram on the TDP plank. As the TDP didn’t consider him seriously, Mudragada said to have now raising his slogan to sit on dharna.
If one closely looks at Mudragada’s forty years political career, he shifted his loyalties to different political parties. Take a detailed look into Mudragada’s political moves. Mudragada was four-time MLA and one-time MP.
He holds special record in switching loyalties and in fact, he’s the one leader who held ministerial berths in both Telugu Desam and the Congress governments under NTR and M. Chenna Reddy leadership respectively. Started his political career as Janata Party MLA in 1978, he switched over to the TD in 1982 and won both 1983 and 1985 polls from Prathipadu Assembly constituency in East Godavari.
Later, he resigned his ministerial berth in NTR cabinet and started Praja Rakshana Samiti followed by his own Telugu Nadu Party with K.E. Krishna Murty (present deputy CM of AP) and K. Jana Reddy who are now with the TD and the Congress. Subsequently, Mudragada hosted a great reception to late Rajiv Gandhi at Prathipadu in 1988 and was elected as MLA and held a ministerial berth.
After 1994 loss as MLA, he vowed not to contest from the same Prathipadu constituency. He later associated himselef with Kapunadu and then with the BJP and played a key role in the election of U.V. Krishnam Raju from Kakinada. Mudragada even attended RSS sakhas during this period. Later in 1999, he represented TD in the Lok Sabha from the same seat and lost in 2004 polls.
After this defeat, he joined the Congress and lost the election in 2009 from Pithapuram. He then shifted his loyalties to Jagan’s YSRC and even participated in Jagan’s Odarpu yatras. Except TRS and Communist parties, Mudragada had been member of all political parties in various positions.
At a time, when his political career was almost doomed, he came up with Kapu Garjana at Tuni this took violent route by damaging public property, including burning of train Ratnachal express, setting fire to Tuni police station, bringing crores of loss to the public exchequer.
This in turn brought a bad name to Kapu agitation and sidelined its prime cause. However, surprisingly, he ended his fast saying that he got ‘assurances’ from AP government on Kapu welfare. Many are expressing doubt on the objective of Mudragada’s fast, what made him to withdraw it and his latest threat to start it again.
Going by all the above, looks like Mudragada seems to be political opportunist who’s timely playing up Kapu card, opine political analysts. Even Mudragada shocked Opposition YS Jagan by ending his indefinite strike dashing his hopes to topple the government. All in all, Mudragada seems to be the quintessential Oosaravelli.
Rojakka Back With Senseless Allegations
YSRCP’s suspended Nagari MLA Roja is back to her Senseless allegations mode. In a bid to irk the TDP leader Payyavula Keshav, Roja alleged that the TDP leader had long back purchased 4 acres and 9 cents of land in the Tullur region of the AP capital Amaravati on his son Vikram Simha’s name.
Roja questioned Payyavula’s land purchasing bid by asking him how come an Ananthapur leader had the information that Amaravati would be declared as the state’s capital several months before the announcement.
Roja further demanded an explanation from Payyavula on how his college going son had such an amount of money to buy lands in Amaravati. The firebrand YSRCP MLA further alleged that the AP government is backing its leaders while they are looting all the capital lands belonging to Dalits.
Meanwhile, Roja’s comments invited severe flak from the political circles who ridiculed her saying that just because the lands are on his son’s name it doesn’t mean that he bought the lands on his own. Also, Payyavula hails from a family which has been quite rich since the time of his ancestors.

Singham-3 for Dussehra
Tamil Superstar Suriya’s S3 is heading towards Malaysia for the beautiful European country of Romania. A special song and some key scenes will be shot in this schedule which will go on for ten days. S3 is the third installment in the successful Singham series.
Until now the movie is canned in Karaikudi and the surroundings of Chennai. The film is being planned for October 7th release as Dussehra Special. The makers have charted non-stop schedules to make sure the movie releases then.
Both the Telugu and Tamil version will have a simultaneous release. The movie is titled S3 instead of Singham-3 in Tamil, but there is no word regarding the title of the Telugu version. Shruti Hassan and Anushka Shetty are the female leads.
Hari who wielded megaphone for the previous films in Singham series will also be directing this. Devi Sri Prasad who is the regular composer of the Singham series is replaced by Harris Jairaj for this film. S3 is being jointly produced by Suriya’s home banner 2D Entertainment and Studio Green.
Mahesh Babu finishes father’s work
Superstar Krishna is all set to make his grand return to silver screen with a powerful revenge drama titled Sri Sri. Mahesh Babu unveiled the music album of the film and garnered good attention for the film. The actor is now also giving voice-over to the film.
He finished the voice-over work the other day. Mahesh Babu will be the Chief Guest of the event and will be unveiling the music album. Mahesh’s presence will help the movie get good eyeballs.
The voiceover will come at crucial junctures while the story moves on and it will be the major highlight of the film. Krishna’s son-in-law Sudheer Babu will also be seen in a special cameo in the film. Muppalaneni Siva is wielding megaphone for this movie.
Krishna’s last silver screen appearance was in Aadi’s 2013 film, Sukumarudu. Krishna will be seen in the role of a common man who is inspired by the legendary revolutionary poet, Sri Sri. The film also stars Krishna’s wife and yesteryear heroine Vijaya Nirmala and senior actor Naresh.
Nani’s girl gets a Bollywood offer
Mehreen who recently made her filmy debut with Nani’s Krishna Gaadi Veera Prema Gadha, currently has two offers in Tollywood. She will be romancing Sai Dharam Tej is his upcoming project which will be directed by BVS Ravi. And in the other project, she will be romancing Kalyan Ram in his next to be directed by Puri Jagannadh.
If she manages to bag hit with either of these films, then she will definitely become a hot property in Telugu film industry. The actress is all set to make her Bollywood debut in a biggie. She has been roped in by actress Anushka Sharma for her production house’s next, Phillauri.
The makers of Phillauri are looking for a Punjabi actress. They are very impressed with Mehreen and immediately got her on board as they felt she is perfect fit for the role. If the film works out at the box office, she will get a pan-India image. But the immediate challenge will be adjusting dates for all this films.
Chiranjeevi starts preparation for 150th film
Megastar Chiranjeevi okayed the remake of Tamil blockbuster, Kaththi for the prestigious 150th film. Vinayak who delivered a disaster with Akhil – The Power of Jua will be directing this film. The project was however put on hold after a story controversy cropped up.
Chiranjeevi wants to begin the project only after the controversy is resolved. On the other side, Chiranjeevi had started preparation for the role. It is emerging that the actor got himself enrolled in Zumba Classes so as to get his lost flexibility back as well as lose weight.
Zumba is a new age exercise regimen that combines Aerobics and Dance which aides flexibility as well as promote weight loss. The project may go on floors very soon as Chiranjeevi started preparation.
Kaththi starring Vijay and directed by AR Murugadoss was a blockbuster back then. But a writer from AP complained that it is his story which he narrated to the actor some time ago. But the project did not materialize for some reason.
