Was the pre-Look of Allu Arjun’s “Sarrainodu” better than First Look? Comments like these are being heard in filmnagar as the much-hyped first look poster of “Sarrainodu” has failed to evince interest. When Allu Arjun released the pre-look that had only one hand with an iron ball, it made everyone sit up and eagerly wait for the official first look. When the first look came the zoomed out version of the same pre-look got thumbs down.

Many say the title logo was so boring and below standards unlike the classy mass look of Allu Arjun’s “Racegurram”. Since the unanimous talk is not encouraging, now Bunny is planning to release some good stills to spike up the interest. Director Boyapati Sreenivas who is known for having grip on the pulse of mass audiences feels otherwise.

According to our sources, he told Bunny that the poster would go well with B and C center audiences. But Allu Arjun wants to go ahead with his plan of releasing some classy stills to salvage the damage.

Raj Tarun Made ‘Seethamma Andalua’ Memorable

Actress Arthana Binu says her co-star Raj Tarun made working on forthcoming Telugu film “Seethamma Andalu Ramayya Sitralu”, which releases in cinemas on Friday, an experience to remember for a long time. “Working with Raj was so much fun. Even with three back-to-back hits, he stays grounded and is a pleasure to work with.

He’s extremely supportive and made the whole working experience memorable,” Arthana told IANS. Two best things to have happened to the debutante on this project are Raj Tarun and her role. “I found a great friend in Raj, because rarely do you find genuinely good people in this line of work. Besides Raj, the best thing to have happened on this film would be my role,” she said.

Calling the film a “sweet love story”, she said she plays a character that’ll appeal to audiences and critics alike. “It’s story that focuses on the importance of friendship and true love. It’s a clean romantic entertainer with some family values,” she said. A Malayali by descent, Arthana was chosen for the project after a casting agent found her pictures on Facebook.

“Although I had my own reservations about debuting in an alien industry, I’m glad things worked out in my favour. I completed the film without any hassles. I thoroughly enjoyed working in this project. The people were so warm and very helpful,” she said. While offers continue to pour in for Arthana, she’s not in a hurry to sign more films.

“I’m currently doing my final year of B.A. Journalism in Mass Communication and Video Production. My final semester exams are due in February. I don’t want to sign any new projects until I’m through with my exams,” she added. Arthana also has a Malayalam project in her kitty.

In Godavari districts, Nagarjuna’s “Soggade Chinni Nayana” is setting new records. Although the family entertainer has become universal hit, the audiences in these districts have lapped up more as the Bangarraju role that Nagarjuna played in the movie is typical of Godavari region. Also the movie’s story is completely set in the backdrop of Godavari districts.

For the first time in Nagarjuna’s career, the movie has crossed stunning Rs 3 Cr share in East Godavari district. On 26th January, in a single day alone, it has collected Rs 14 lakhs share. Rs 3 Cr share in East Godavari is the highest figure for a senior hero.

In West Godavari too, it has crossed impressive total of Rs 1.66 Cr share. Directed by Kalyan Krishna, “Soggade Chinni Nayana” told the story of Bangarraju and his son Ramu. Ramya Krishna, Lavanya Tripathi and Anasuya have played the female lead roles.

The sons of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Chief Ministers K T Rama Rao and Nara Lokesh, who are battling it out in GHMC poll campaigning aggressively, would now be supported by their fathers KCR and Chandrababu Naidu. AP CM Chandrababu Naidu will make a whirlwind tour of GHMC limits on Thursday and Friday to campaign for TDP-BJP combine. The TDP-BJP combine which is lagging behind by ruling TRS in GHMC polls, has kept high hopes and expectations on Naidu’s campaigning.

The TDP-BJP contestants hope that Naidu’s campaign would attract Seemandhra settlers in GHMC limits towards TDP and BJP, which the TRS leaders are trying to hijack for the last few days by giving “Pro-Seemandhra statements”. While some AP ministers, MPs, MLAs already started campaigning in areas dominated by Seemandhra settlers, Naidu’s poll campaign is expected to turn the tide in their favour in these areas. Naidu will lay special focus on city outskirts where there is significant population of Seemandhra settlers.

Though Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao would not hit the roads like Naidu, he is examining other options to reach out to the public. KCR has decided to hold a huge public meeting at Parade Grounds in Secunderabad on January 30. KCR has also planned to address a press conference at Telangana Bhavan on Thursday evening where he is expected to unveil his vision for developing Hyderabad as a global city, if TRS is voted to power in GHMC polls.

KCR Promised Me – Balayya

Balakrishna is known for his multi-tasking abilities. He is acting in films, managing development works of his constituency Hindupur and also looking after Basavatarakam (Indo-American) Cancer Hospital and NTR Trusts. Yesterday, Balakrishna attended flag hoisting ceremony at Basavatarakam hospital in Banjara Hills, on the eve of Republic Day. And he promised to set up new hospital in Andhra Pradesh.

“We are successfully running the hospital with assistance from both the Telugu states. Recently, I met Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao to discuss few things regarding the hospital and he promised me of full support from the government. There is a need to set up new hospital in Andhra Pradesh and we are looking for other ways to assist cancer patients.”

On the film front, Balakrishna’s recent outing Dictator directed by Sri Wass is ending as an average grosser. The Legend star will next work with Singeetham Srinivas for a socio fantasy film Aditya 999 which marks Balakrishna’s 100th film. Chances are high for Mokshagna making his film debut with this landmark project. Balakrishna has also committed to do a project under Boyapati Sreenu direction.

And his film with Murugadoss is also believed to be different. Murugadoss has recently done ‘Tupaki’ in which the hero is a soldier who is forewarned about an impending terrorist strike.

He investigates the matter in his own style and foils the plot in the end. Industry insiders say that Mahesh’s film will have shades of ‘Tupaki’ as regards the investigative part of it.

In Tollywood, it has been quite a long time since we have seen such a film.

Mannara, who happens to be Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra’s cousin, is zeroed in on for the Telugu-Kannada bilingual film which Puri took it as prestigious project.

What’s more? Already, Puri has begun shooting for Rogue with Mannara and the shooting is presently progressing in Bangkok. Mannara will be seen playing a spunky girl in the film a la Puri’s heroines. Not too long ago, Aisha Sharma shot for Rogue for a considerable portion and it’s still unclear why she stepped out of the project abruptly.

Since Rogue is Puri’s next after Loafer debacle, Puri is taking special care on the script work and taking care of even minute details. The movie marks the debut of hero Ishan, who is nephew of noted Kannada producer CR Manohar. Let’s hope at least the heroine woes for Rogue ends with Mannara and Puri finishes the film on time. If all goes well, Rogue is slated for March release.

AP Women Happy With Jayalalithaa’s Gifts

During the last general elections in Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister Jayalalithaa miraculously fought off the anti-wave among the public by introducing several freebies and sops to the women folk. The low cost Amma Mixers and Amma Grinders were among those super hit schemes that turned the fortunes for Jayalalithaa.

Now, these Amma Mixers and Grinders have found a huge patronage among the women from the bordering Telugu villages and especially in Nellore and Prakasam districts. Priced between Rs. 500 and Rs. 2,500 respectively, the Amma mixers and grinders are being sold like hotcakes across several AP villages.

Telugu traders are buying the unused Amma Mixers and Grinders from Tamilians and are selling them off in Nellore and Prakasam for decent rates and minting money. Apparently, each trader is selling a minimum of 30 to 50 mixers per week.

Buoyed by the grand success of her freebie schemes, Jayalalithaa is keen on repeating the same tactic for middle-class housewives and students in the wake of the upcoming general elections which are due in mid-April.

Donald Trump’s blunt-speaking candidacy has boosted ratings for the Republican presidential debates. U.S. Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump on Tuesday abruptly withdrew from a debate with party rivals this week out of anger at host Fox News, leaving the last encounter before Iowa’s first-in-the-nation nominating contest without the front-runner. Mr. Trump’s campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, told reporters after a combative news conference held by the candidate that Mr. Trump would definitely not be participating in the debate scheduled for Thursday. During the news conference before he addressed a large crowd in Marshalltown, Iowa, Mr. Trump expressed irritation that Fox News planned to leave in place as a moderator the anchor Megyn Kelly, whose questioning of Trump at a debate last August angered him.

He also expressed displeasure at a Fox News statement on Monday night saying Mr. Trump would have to learn sooner or later that “he doesn’t get to pick the journalists” and that “we’re very surprised he’s willing to show that much fear about being questioned by Megyn Kelly.” “I was all set to do the debate, I came here to do the debate. When they sent out the wise-guy press release done by some PR person along with (Fox News Chairman) Roger Ailes, I said: ‘Bye bye, OK’” “Let’s see how much money Fox makes without me in the debate,” he added.

Mr. Trump’s blunt-speaking candidacy has boosted ratings for the Republican presidential debates. The August debate on Fox News drew 24 million viewers, a record for a presidential primary debate and the highest non-sports telecast in cable TV history. His boycott will leave Thursday’s debate without the leader in the crowded Republican field not only in Iowa but nationally. Ahead of Iowa’s caucuses next Monday, Trump leads in the polls over Texas Senator Ted Cruz, whom Trump dismissed as a “nasty guy” who “nobody likes.” A boycott could prove risky for Trump as Iowa Republicans seek to take one more look at who they want as their presidential candidate for the Nov. 8 election. Rivals like Cruz, Florida Senator Marco Rubio, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson could reap the benefits.

But Trump, a billionaire businessman and former reality TV star said he would hold a competing event to raise money for U.S. military veterans. Mr. Trump has been engaged in a public spat with Fox News since the network hosted the first debate and Mr. Kelly asked Mr. Trump about his treatment of woman, prompting a stream of insults from the candidate. At the news conference on Tuesday, Mr. Trump was introduced by Arizona’s Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, who has sought tougher measures against illegal immigrants.

“Everything I believe in he’s doing and he’s going to do it as president,” said Arpaio. Mr. Trump, pressed on his plans to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexican border and deport many illegal immigrants, defended his proposal and said he would be able to persuade the U.S. Congress to go along with his plan.
